Hunter sat back in the chair, his legs crossed at his feet and his arms folded behind his head. He closed his eyes and watched as the torch lights flickered shadows on his eye-lids.

He silently sighed. He would bet anything that Voldemort caused that fire. He didn't say that though. He wasn't sure how she would take something like that. For all he knew, she might be intensely loyal to Voldemort, and in the position he was in right now, it wouldn't be good if he upset her. He closed his eyes and watched the dancing firelight on his eyelids as a memory ran through his head. A painful memory that always brought tears to his eyes. He couldn't bring his hands up to wipe them away without drawing attention to the fact he was crying, so he sat there, hoping they would go away before she noticed.

Violet stayed looking down at him, turning ehr head to the side. She let her hand go from his hair to his neck, running her hand over his neck softly with her finger tips. "You're crying...emotions dont lie." She whispered softly.

His eyes shot open, and the tears finally fell. He stared into her eyes, more tears falling. He choked up for a second but finally said, "There was a reason I left home at seventeen and moved to Hogsmeade." More tears silently fell as he contemplated how much to tell her.

Violet wiped one of his tears off, looking more and more sadden by the fact he was crying. She had never seen a man cry, let alone a grown man. "There there." She whispered, looking down at him. "Let it out." She whispered again, smiling softly at him. She didnt know what else to say, so she tried to be as nice as she could.

More tears seemed to fall as she wiped some of them off his face. Her face looked more sad as time went on, and he didn't want to see her sad. And then she smiled at him. That made his decision for him.

"I had a best friend," he began softly, "back home in Ireland. We grew up together, got into adventures. She was a muggle, and the only muggle I ever told about my magic. Anyways, her father killed her one night. He wasn't ever right in the head to begin with, and her mum had just left him. No one's ever bothered to tell me what actually happened that night, but it's almost worse than knowing; my imagination constantly thinks up horrible visions and dreams." He stopped for a second and took a breath. "One day when we were 15, we went down to the little river behind my house. We sat down by the bank and she put my head in her lap and ran her fingers through my hair, just like you were doing. I was remembering that day, and the memory is always so sad for me. She could always tell when I was stressed out. Shannon was such a great friend."

He stopped talking and closed his eyes again. He didn't tell her that Shannon was also the only girl he had ever loved, and that he had gone and killed her father in revenge.

Violet looked uncomfortable, letting her hand fall back to her lap. "I'm sorry." She whispered. She knew her father was crazy, but she didnt know muggles were too. She took a deep breath, wiping another tear from his cheek.

"I..I didnt know that would make you feel that way. I wont do it again." She said, taking a deepered breath.

He smiled slightly and called her name to get her to look in his eyes.

"I didn't ask you to stop. It didn't make me feel sad, her death did. No one's done that for me in a long time, you're the first person since she died who's done that for me. In that little bit of time, I'm almost completely relaxed, even though I acted like a human hosepipe," he joked, trying to get her to smile.

"If anything, I don't want you to stop. Shannon's gone, there's nothing I can do about that. And I've accepted it. Sometimes memories sneak up on you, like mine did just now." He smiled at her again, wishing she would smile again.

Violet nodded, plaing with his hair again. She sighed, trying to think of anything that could make her smile. Heredity, Breson, and Stella popped to her mind and she smiled. But she wasnt going tell him what made her did. It had been a few years since she seen them. Liam had been nothing but a stupid fool she just had to leave Seth for. What had she been thinking anyway? 'You were thinkin about money...and other stuff' she thought to herself.

He watched her smile, but she didn't say anything, making him wonder what had made her smile like that. He was glad she was playing with his hair again, it really was quite relaxing.

"Hey, earth to Miss Riddle," he called softly as they were not very far apart. "What are you thinking about?"

Violet looked down at him, sighing. "Well...er...my..children...lets just say...16 is the only age I'll ever be." She said softly. She adverted her eyes to look at the wall, though she didnt stop playing with his hair. "I screwed up in my past...lost my children...my husband...and everything I had...for money and a bit to much fun." She mumbled.

He raised an eyebrow. "You mean you'll never age?" He didn't think vampire's ever aged, but he wasn't sure if that was across the board or just her.

"Money and power have a strong hold on all of us; it's like they're magnetic and the rest of us are all pieces of metal flying towards them. And sometimes we lose all that's important to us in pursuit of it. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes," he said, quietly.

"yeah, that was years ago." She mumbled. "And no...I dont age...I've been like this for...about four..maybe 5 years. I lost count." She whispered, looking back down at him. She smiled softly again, tracing small circles on his face, her head chcoked to the side again.

He quirked the side of his mouth at her. She was so different from most everyone he had met since he moved here. But different in a good way. Her fingers were tracing circles on his face, making him sigh.

"To be sixteen forever...Well, at least you won't ever have to worry about growing old like the rest of us," he tried to joke, and most likely failing miserably. In all honesty he didn't want to joke around, it was more habit than anything else. She had lost so much. If she had stopped aging 4 or 5 years before, that would mean she'd be close to 20 or so. "In all seriousness, I'm sorry about your kids and husband. Family is a terrible thing to lose," he said.

Violet shrugged, tracing around his lips softly. "He was cheating on me too, so I guess it was a win a win thing. With the nanny he turned also. Sam something." She mumbled. She smiled again, shaking her head. "I would rather be 16 then grow old with wrinkles." She told him, moving from his mouth to his cheek agian.

His eyelids fluttered as she traced over his lips with her fingers. He resisted the urge to kiss her fingertips, not wanting to scare her. He smiled at her and said, "I think we'd all like to be 16 forever. I know I would. I don't really want to get old and grey, or worse, lose my hair."

He turned his attention to her other comments. "So your ex-husband was a vampire? Was he the vamp that turned you?"

Violet froze for a few seconds before nodding. "Yeah.....so that...i guess you can call him my boyfriend..husband...dont know what we were couldnt have me because he didnt like vampires or something." Violet said, sighing softly.

He raised an eyebrow. "So if he didn't turn you, who did?"

Violet laughed at him, him clearly confused. "No, Seth turned me. He did it so Shaeman couldnt have me. Men..." She mumbled.

"Yeah..." He was a little confused, well actually a lot confused. Turning someone into a vampire so someone couldn't have them? Seemed a little extreme to him.

"So, I take it you aren't with either of them then?"

"Well...I was..." She mumbled. "Shaeman lefted and Seth just...changed." She mumbled, looking down at him again. She started playing with his hair again, sighing.

"Changed, changed how?" he asked. She looked sad again. He wanted to help her, wanted her to get past whatever had made her this sad this quick. Her hands were back in his hair, and he smiled to show his appreciation.

Violet smiled weakly down at him. "Well first...he was...well...a stalker like...then I got to know him...then he went from good to bad...bad to good...then finally he was calling his Sire alot...Liliah hated me for that." She mumbled.

"Lilah his Sire?" he asked.

"Siress." She replied, sighing. "Nothing but...a tramp....evil to the core...tried to kill me more then once. I would have liked it I guess." She whispered, pushing her hair back behind her ear.

"You wouldn't really want to die, would you?" he asked, looking into her eyes. "If anything," he said, "I'd want to stay alive and rub it in her face. She sounds not just evil, but rotten."

"Better then anything." She shrugged, clearing her throat silently. "Then again...I could care less about them anymore." She said.

"I see," he said. He closed his eyes again and focused on the feel of her fingers in his hair.

Violet picked up her wand, looking back down. "I should go.." She whispered.

"Okay," he said, opening his eyes again. He quirked his eyebrow and the door flew open. "The doors open..."

Violet smiled down at him again, before pushing him up softly so she could move. "See ya..I guess." She said, grabbing ehr bag from by the door.

He chuckled as she pushed his head up. "You know where to find me," he said as she grabbed up her bag. He stood by the door, smiling slightly, thinking what a weird turn of events, but not an unpleasant one.

Violet waved, walking down the hall back towards the common room. She didnt get far when she heard a soft growl. "Leave me alone henry, go find Phoenix if you want someone to mess with." she hissed

He was about to close the door and retake his seat when he heard a very faint sound, almost like a growl. Instantly he was on high alert, waiting to see what was going to happen. Violet had stopped and it looked like she was saying something, but he couldn't hear what it was. He decided he would wait where he was unless it looked like she needed help. She was a vampire after all, he assumed she could take care of herself. But, just in case...

Henry stepped out from out of the shadows, glaring at her. "I'm tired with her at the moment. James got in the way. And he is dead." Henry said. Violet narrowed her eyes, but said nothing.

He took a step back as he saw someone come out from the shadows that lurked around the corridor. He couldn't make out many details, but he radiated an aura of evil. He took a step out of the room and into the hallway, silently creeping down the hall towards Violet and whoever the mysterious stranger was.

"Congrats...you murdered a malofy...how do you feel." She asked sarcasticly as she walked around him. He grabbed her arm in a death grip and Violet whimpered. "Your father still hasnt given me you punishment yet..." He hissed.

Hunter saw the man grab Violet's arm and heard her whimper. With a quick jerk of his head the stranger was ripped from Violet and hurtled against the opposite wall, his body making a sickening thud. He ran over to her and glared down at the body on the floor. Turning his eyes to her he said, "Who is he?"

Violet's eyes widen as Henry was thrown across the room. "Henry." She called out, who grunted in pain. She looked back at Hunter then back at Henry

"Again, who. is. he?" He looked back at the person she had called Henry. The name sounded familiar, but he couldn't place the face.

"H..Henry Parker...." She whispered softly, looking down.

"Henry Parker? What, is he a friend of yours? Didn't look like it from back there," he said angrily.

"He is one of my friends....he just...happens to work for my father..." She mumbled, adverting ehr eyes.

"Bull," he scoffed. "What happened to the Violet Riddle back there? The one who was ready to bite me had I given you half a chance?" He laughed mockingly and picked Henry up with his magic, pinning him to the wall much the same way he had pinned Violet earlier.

"I don't doubt for a second he works for Voldemort," he began, "but I'm willing to bet he's nothing more than a spy."

Violet just shook her head. "He isnt a spy...he's my fathers right hand man. The punishment is nothig either. He is just a friend..." She whispered to him.

"Voldemort's right hand, you say?" He smiled an evil vicious smile. "I wonder what your father would do if he were to lose his right hand man?" He looked back at Violet and said, "Don't worry, I won't kill him. Though why you want him around I wouldn't know. Do you want him around?"

Violet nodded, knowing it was a lie. "Henry is ok..." She mumbled, looking back at him as he tried to move from the wall.

"I get the feeling you're lying, Violet." He looked back at Henry, who was trying to get up, and flung him once again against the stone wall. "Wouldn't it be nice to be rid of this scum? To not have your father knowing your every move?"

Violet thought about it. She thought it would be nice, but what about everything else? If her father knew, he would only send someone who would force her to do everything he wants. Looking back at Hunter and she bit her lip, not sure of what to say.

He could see her indecision, it was written all over her face.

"No one would have to know you were involved. You could even leave, and I'll take care of it. Unlike most, I am not scared of your father. If anything, you could spread the rumor that I did it, which has the advantage of being true. It is up to you. You hold his life in your hands..."

Violet looked back at him before nodding, turning back to Henry. "I...I want him dead." She whispered, looking down at her wand.
