Goblin Wars

The Goblin Wars were fought long ago, though some memories run deep.
First amoung the Fae, the Goblins were denied magick. Then when they came to our world, they started to use it, in most deadly ways. After the first Goblin War, when Goblins ruled with an iron fist, the humans had learned what the sidhe knew, Goblin prowess on the battlefield combined with magick would make them virtually unstoppable. They uprose against the goblin overlords weilding potent magicks of their own. One thing humanity had going for it was ingenuity. Humans were very adaptable and creative, and none more so than wizards and witches. They fought long and hard, afterwards the Goblins were put on trial for crimes against humanity and stripped of the knowledge of magick. They have become our bankers, as well as other trusted servants now. But festering in the dark hidden hearts of Goblinkind is a resentment to over throw their masters and be rulers once more. For now, they are content with mastery over our finances.
Goblinkind wants us to be decant, grow weak and complacent...so they can strike when the time is right.
That is why my bretheren, we canot afford to sit on the laurels of past accomplishment, I am nothing against love, but with each generation diminished through interbreeding with muggles, the pure blood of wizardry is diluted, weakening our people before our enemies eyes. Not because we are against the muggles, they serve a purpose, but our people must stand strong, not even giving the appearence of weakness before the eyes of our erstwhile bankers, who plot and scheme behind our backs while showing us a smiling face full of jagged teeth. Do not be fooled. Furthermore, we need only look to examples from the first war, where in, our new Goblin friends escaping persecution at the hands of the Sidhe fae wished sanctuary in our world, we taught them our language, our ways, ...and they used them against us to great effect. Our forfathers fought with wand, blood and sacrifice in the second war to ensure we their descendants have a future to enjoy. CHarismatic leaders like Kurag the Goblin King (merrygentrywikidot.com/Kurag) who allied himself with the unseelie court in the past, led his people into exile into our world. The Redcap army is still speaken of in horror to this day when they dipped their hats in the blood of their fallen foes. Interestingly, goblin culture does allow captured prisoners to bargain what can be done to them. Pay attention to the letter of the law when they give their word, for they are still a form of fae. But time has passed and people have forgotten. But brave wizards like Halizzat the Unsung, whose stories were not told to the people, only to their families would urge us to never forget, never again trust these creatures of darkness and blood.
Most of you will continue greetings the goblins each payday, and the banks, but perhaps some of you will realize the traps these institutions have become. In conclusion, the Goblin Wars were a horrific time, that most have chosen to forget. I urge you, do not forget the past, lest we be doomed to repeat it.
