This class is dedicated to Giant Wars.

For part one, I want you to come up with a giant from the past and give a detailed history of their life and wars/fights they have participated in. This must be at least 400 words minimum, no max, and is worth up to 60 pts.

For part two, I want you to describe the physical aspects of your giant. At least 150 words. 20 points possible, with an extra 10 pts if you provide a picture/drawing.

Once you are done with this class I will open up Giant Wars Pt.2 in which you will rpg as your giant in a simulated war with your fellow classmates and you may be awarded up to 100 pts for that. So choose your giant wisely!

Giant Wars Part one

Part one

Garstofcas is a female giant whom was born near the Lake District. Born in 1060 Garstofcas was one of the most remember able giants of our History. Being female she was often looked down on by the other giants but she is the toughest fighter many of them have ever seen. Participating in many of the muggle wars such as the battle of Hastings she is often remembered as one of the most reckless Giants of our time.

At a very early age just the age of 6 she began to meddle in many of the muggle affairs causing problems for the wizards at the time whom were forced into hiding constantly from the beliefs that were held in society at that time. The first muggle war she participated in was the battle of Hastings. On the first day of attack Garstofcas began to join in meaning that the solders dispersed. Many people believe that the battle was over something else which was partly true but because of Garstofcas’s interference in the situation the thought that each side was using unnatural forces against each other.

As Garstofcas began to age she did not become more mature in her nature and continued to mess in muggle affairs. At the age of 58 Garstofcas traveled over to Spain to join a coven of Giants over there. In the year 1111 there was a terrible battle between the Spanish giants and the Portuguese giants over the land in which they were allowed to enter. Garstofcas herself had entered Portugal unaware that it was forbidden. This caused a terrible war in which the wizarding authorities had a large problem trying to clear up. 8 of Garstofcas’s coven were killed including her mate Konohamaur and 6 of the Portuguese coven were killed. This battle was not remembered for the losses which in themselves were not to great but for the damage that this battle caused on society. They caused a great deal of damage on the country themselves and the wizarding government never completely managed to wipe all the memories of the people who saw this act which lead an age of mistrusting in those countries.

Garstofcas is currently one of the oldest living giants and her current location is unknown but she was last seen in the French Alps. What she is doing there is unknown and as of yet there is no known coven which are situated there and it is thought that this female giant is spending her time alone. Although she has aged a great deal she is still a remember able reckless giant whom after the Spanish and Portuguese battle never found another mate and because of that has no living relatives.

Part two

Garstofcas is very small for her kind coming up to 14 foot. She has long dark hair that tumbles down her back reaching to the small of her back. Often seen as one of the most beautiful giants Garstofcas has a very delicate face with large brown eyes a rounded nose and full lips. Her appearance gives that of as a friendlier innocent giant though our research of her contradicts this. Her skin crosses to the more oriental looking style with a slight tinge in the colour of her skin.

Garstofcas’s usual style of clothing is a large top usual of floral colours and flannel style trousers, though her attire changes to the country she travels in. Garstofcas herself has traveled to many places all across the world.

Just above her lip on the left hand side of her face Garstofcas holds a small scar which was gained in the wars between the Spanish giants and the Portuguese giants. It is thought that the Portuguese leader was the one who did this.

As she gets older Garstofcas’s muscles begin to wear away and her small height lessen though she still stands as one of the most famous fighters thought history sometimes named as the giant wanderer.

Giant wars

Part one
Yculum the Great was the gurg (chief) of the only African Giant tribe ever to have existed, the Plominarumsk tribe. He was born Chanisia in 1217 and was quickly labeled as a Ponhul Klan (Blood beast) by his fellow giants.

He was made gurg in 1244 after playing a big part in helping the Plominarumsk tribe win the war again the Hungarian tribe, the Remloites, (which lasted 4 years) and so was naturally the best giant for the job. Over the next years, there were several large wars within his tribe as the other giants thought he was too vicious to be a good gurg, which was true, considering in his time he had ripped up half the tribe with his bare hands. Many civil wars were fought; including the war Franxlinon, when one of the largest Giants in the tribe decided out of the blue that he would try and win the ‘thrown’ over the giants of the Plominarumsk tribe. Many died in this battle (about half of the giants in the tribe of Plominarumsk and indeed two human passers by) and it is arguably said to be the bloodiest battle ever to be fought among giants. Also, the war Maloplink, when again, another member of the tribe attempted to take Yculum’s title. This is the longest giant civil war in history (13 years and 4 months). The carnage was unbelievable in this war also, and many giants left the tribe in search of better lives, as they were sick and tired of civil wars.
Finally, the Giants gave up fighting against Yculum. He was too fierce for any of them to beat to the thrown. And now, Yculum had indeed the added advantage that everyone in the tribe was scared of him, and he was indeed known world-wide as the fiercest giant that ever lived. He had everyone at his mercy. He had giants waiting on him hand and foot, and as it says in the history books, he even got married (His wife was indeed also afraid of him, but married him because she was forced into by her parents)
Yculum died, ironically illnesses due to old age, at the tender age of seventy seven. It was a sad occasion for historians, but quiet a happy one for the giants, especially the ones in the tribe of the Plominarumsk tribe. There new chief, history says, was favoured by the people much, much more than Yculum was.

Part two
Yculum was not unattractive. He had quite a handsome face for the blood-thirst beast that he was. He was coloured, had long black hair which was in dread locks, gray eyes and a normal mouth, which was pierce and had a chip of ivory through it. He wore a baggy smock like shirt and baggy trousers (both a sandy colour and made by the giantesses in his tribe) His feet were quite small, but he had VERY large hands (which came in very useful for him to help him keep his title) He stood about 20 feet high, and often had a frown on his face or a snarl.

Gor de Andel:

Gor de Andel was born on may 5th, 1674. After he was born, their was a terrible fight between the giants which separated his mother and father. At the tender age of four, he was twice the size of a normal man and was already hunting for food for him and his mother. Living in the mountain ranges of France, it was hard for them. Most humans who came across him and his mother never lived to see the next day and those who did died soon later. He learned how to make his own weapons and they used sheep skin to make their clothes.

When he turned seven, he was more then seven feet tall and was already a killing machine. More the hundreds of human beings where killed. While hiking for food one day, he meet a human he almost killed, until he realized that she was half human, half giant. With her fluent French, she taught him French and soon, she was his best friend. Together, they hunted and hiked together. He ended up teaching his mother how to talk along with them. After he turned 15, his mother died from a mountain avalanche.

Along with him turning 15, he was more then 12 feet tall and still growing. He and the other half-giant set off to Asia, encountering other giants and half-giants. Together, all eight of them started their own tribe, all speaking French/Chinese. Killing by night, and sleeping by day, each one had a duty to do. The women made the clothing and cooking, while Gor and the men hunted for food. Gor soon became chief of the tribe, after it being decided he was the most likely one to be chief. Soon he and his tribe began killing over tribes and taking the children.

By the age of 20, he was the most frighten giant in Asia. He learned that by talking more and picking up human weapons, and making them into bigger and better weapons, is what scared them. With his two sons, he quickly started teaching them how to hunt and kill. At a height of more then 20 feet, Gor decided to take on bigger things. He started battles with the giantess in England. After weeks of the battle, the giantess ended up surrounding and being killed. All the women were left while the children and men were taken into his tribe. With more then sixty members, he soon had to start killing them off.

By the 1700’s, Gor started getting sick. He was only 26. Him and his tribe stopped their battles and hiking. Soon after a few years, when he was 31, he died from the cold and starving. Instead of burning him, they ended up burring him in the forest of England. His two sons and four daughters tried to contiue what he started but they ended killing each other and the tribe ended up breaking up.

Gor was tall, about 25 feet tall and he had brown hair and brown eyes. With very large hands and feet. He was roughly about 1 ton to 2 tons in weight. He wore mostly cheep skin around his waist, and sometimes coats, which was stole from other tribes he killed. He never worse shoes and he was thin, as thin as a giant could be that is. He never smiled and his hair was long and curly. His head was squared like and he had olive brown skin, and yellow teeth, some decayed. His nails were short and yellow. He had scars on his arms from the fights he got in. He always had a spear or knife on him, no matter where he went. His eyebrows were very fluffy and bushy. He tried to keep his hair pulled back, but it never worked. Furthermore, he looked like any other giant warrior.

Wyleeum Drellious

(467 A.D. - 495 A.D)

Appearance

Wyleeum Drellious was the average size of giants, being only a few inches about twenty feet. His hair was brown, like his eyes, and thin, reaching just below his shoulders with the exception of his bangs that vary in length from down to his eyebrows to eye level. He had a long face and thick neck, along with a stout figure and a nose reminiscent of a pig snout, all of which are normal for giants.

His clothing was also typical giant attire; at least for tribes in the wilderness (the King of Britain at the time, a giant, wore more fashionable attire). He wore plain tunics and pants that were a natural color that he loved due to his love of nature. He also wore boots — once his fathers — that were made out of long leather straps, magically wound together by a wizard in Ireland. His clothes of course were rarely clean, like most people even non-giants at the time.

History

Wyleeum Drellious was a peaceful giant who lived in Cornwall during the late 5th century. His father died months before he was born from an attack of wizards in a village nearby, mistaking him as a threat. His elder brother, Mawrkuss, helped take care of his mother. His mother then died whilst giving birth to him and was left to be raised by his brother. Years later his brother became Gurg, or chief leader. Wyleeum, who cared mostly for nature, often wandered off into luscious green areas of the forest.

At the age of five, he got his first taste of the hatred others have on 'Part-Humans' such as himself. They had been living in a more open land not far from the forest where he would visit when villagers — from the same village that was responsible for his father's death — attacked. Fire was set to the huts they had built and they were forced to run into the forest to live. The sounds of the screams of his fellow tribe members stayed in his mind all his life, as did the picture of the burial of three giants who didn't survive.

When he reached the age of seventeen, it was obvious he wasn't going to be the brute his brother was, nor was he going to be the tallest giant. He turned out to be five feet shorter than his brother, making him only the typical height of a giant, twenty feet tall. It was also apparent that he wasn't much of a fighter given that instead of fighting with others he chose to spend time by the river in the forest and just rest with the creatures nearby. Eventually everyone let him be and do as he pleased, but there were instances of other giants bullying him.

Life was pretty peaceful since they were driven into the forest, but once Wyleeum reached his late twenties, their peace was disrupted. Englisc, or Anglo-Saxons, set fire to the forest to drive his tribe out. Originally the invaders planned to force the giants to help them fight the Romano-British Celts, who where led by famous muggle warrior Arthur. Instead the giants chose to fight alongside Arthur's men — this was arranged by one of the giants who knew their language. At this time muggles were aware of magical creatures and wizards and in fact had some in their own kingdoms, such as Merlin Ambrosius (known as Ambrosius Aurelianus at the time and born Myrddin Wyllt) and Arthur's half sister, Morgana, who a half blood witch.

Mawrkuss led his tribe around the forest and to a place called Solsbury Hill to fight the Englisc. Even the peaceful Wyleeum decided to fight since, though was not found of violence, he wanted to protect his family and tribe. So he went along and there the giants stood amongst the Romano-British soldiers, prepared to fight their enemy. And they did. The Battle of Mons Badonicus halted the Anglo-Saxons for some years, but of course not without casualties from those who opposed them, one of which being Wyleeum.

It was a victorious day, yet a sad one. Wizards and witches trained in healing tried to save those injured, but they couldn't save all of them. Wyleeum, along with others, was buried at Aballava, or Avalon as it was later called once it became a place of healing in later centuries. Bran the Blessed, king of Britain and also a giant, welcomed the tribe to stay on his land until they decided to move on to somewhere else. Most stayed in Britain, but some broke off from the tribe. One notable one is Morholt, whom demanded tribute from King Mark of Cornwall until he was slain by Tristan, but not without wounding Tristan first with a poisoned sword.

Garry the Gut-Gnasher

Guh, as he is commomly known, was better recorded in history as Garry the Gut-Gnasher. It is believed that he lived to be almost two hundred years old, but this is only a guess. He died in battle, as he had lived.

An adventurous child, and a terror to boot, his parents abandoned him when it became apparent he was completely self-sufficient at the human age of two.

At the age of three he had already grown into an impressive stature, and the others his age were intimidated by his slightest move. It was around this time that he realised he could get what he wanted when he wanted if he pushed hard enough – which is to say, enough force to split a large boulder in two.

In the next few decades, Guh grew to be a perfect nuisance. He was reckless, uncontrolled, and greedy. He was a crude being, ate gluttonously and had no regard for authority or rule. He lived as he always had: off the wild, alone, without influence. None ventured into his territories, and when he began to travel further from his native lands, all manner of beings avoided his destructive path.

His one possession was his club, which he found at the human age of fourteen. It remained his favourite object other than himself for the rest of his life, and the club is as well known today as the giant himself.

Named Fasguiyr, meaning ‘skull crusher’ in the giant language, the club was a long, rounded piece of hard wood that had several sharp, deadly spikes protruding from its obtuse end. These spikes were always famed to be stained with the blood of the small children Guh preferred to victimise, but there is no evidence of truth to the legend, as far as historians can gather. It was a symbol of his strength, and its mere existence instilled fear in those who saw its awesome strength.

A veteran of many wars in his prime, Guh took part in the Rebellions of 987 and 989 (AD by Muggle years) and lived to see the Uprising of 1003.

These are the better recorded battles that Guh took place in – his influence on their outcome was never truly determined, but it is generally believed, by the stories that have passed down since that time, that he was a great asset to any army.

Guh never faught for a side in war due to personal affiliation or a sense of camaraderie, but allied himself with many an army general simply because he craved the violence and bloodshed of battle. He was a fierce warrior, but never a merciful or a kind creature. His club was feared for a reason, and those enemies that saw him before the end, knew that their time had just been determined.

Guh got his name, ‘Gut-Gnasher’ (no one is sure where 'Garry' originated) from the best recorded battle that he took place in. It was during his time in France, when the current Veela Queen had just died, childless, and there was no direct descendant to take up the throne. The anarchy that spread through the court, as distant relatives all fought furiously for the title, drew Guh’s attention, and he was enthralled by the Veela, and his mind was overcome with a kind of self-inflicted spell. He fell in love with one of the Veela women vying for the throne, and seeing his willingness to do whatever she asked of him, used him as a political weapon to gain the throne.

Guh was ignorant of the way the Veela used him, of course, and simply tore down every barrage of warfare the Veela Clans threw at him. There came a point when there were so many Veela throwing flames at him that he raised both hands to ward the fire away from his eyes, and consequently dropped Fasguiyr. Without his primary weapon, it seemed as though he would be overcome at last – but Guh was a wily creature for his kind, more than the norm, and the first Veela that leapt at him died by his teeth.

It became a popular way to maim after that experience for Guh. Not only was his club stained with the blood of his victims, but his teeth too; and in time they sharpened to deadly points as he did it more and more increasingly.

Guh is now a Wizarding household figure, parents using his name to scare their children into obedience. But in this way Guh lives on as an immortal.

It may be that the current stereotypes and prejudices against the Giant race was based around specific examples like Guh, who though part of the minority of his race, is one of the better known, and therefore the standard set of their kind.

Guh was around twenty feet tall. He was disproportioned, his arms were too long and his shoulders were always slumped. He had a thick neck and an almost square-shaped head with odd ears that stuck out. He had few teeth by the end of his life, and had small, black eyes, which glittered with bloodlust and malice. Guh had but three hairs atop his otherwise bald head – one of them was slightly curled.

He wore only a small soiled loincloth all his life, with no other clothes.

Like all Giants, his skin was thicker and tougher than even elephant skin, and the soles of his feet were constantly black from lack of washing and an excess of walking.

From the various battles he participated in, Guh amassed, by the end of his career, no small sum of scars. They littered his back, his arms, legs, torso and there was one on his right cheek, a gift from a particularly territorial vampire he had crossed one day as a youngster.

Part One:

Grevishnik Hammerpunch was a very famous giant, not for soig anything good but for all of the wrong he did. One of the smarter giants, Grevishnik or more commonly known by other giants Grrr, had a very bad temper and always loved to fight with others. Grr would roam around the area looking for whomever was dumb enough to challange him, but still this isn't what Grr was known for.

Here's the story of how he became so well known.

One day Grr was roaming about the mountains looking for someone else to battle against like he usually did but after beating up many other giants he started to grow bored of it. Instead he did something all giants feared to do, he left the mountains. He walked all the way down into the world where many muggles and wizards lived at. There were many people walking around and Grr thought that it was so funny that many of the people there weren't very tall and he had gotten the idea that he should rule over them all. Afterall he was the tallest one there and knew that in the giant society whomever was the biggest and the toughest was the chief. So Grr walked up to the first person he met who just happened to be an unlucky muggle. Grr held up his fists ready to fight and the poor muggle just stood there frightened to death unable to move an inch. Grr smakced him right in the side of the face and killed him. Once he was sure the muggle was dead by walking on him he moved onto his next victom, another muggle. By the end of the day Grr had killed at least twenty muggles and five wizards.

During the night, Grr walked over to the first muggle house he saw and tried to get into there but couldn't fit. So Grr got up and started to roam the place looking for somewhere to rest so that tomorrow he could continue on with trying to become chief. After walking around for what seamed like hours he finally found the perfect place, an aditorium that was just being built and he rested down there. When morning arrived he awoken to fifty wizards surrounding him with their wands drawn. The one wizard told him to return to the mountains but grr didnt want to. Instead he went and killed ten more wizards beforwe they all fleed away. grr thought that they were too afarid to face him so he continued on with his day. Soon after walking around the area he saw that there was no one there to rule over. Grr spent half of the day there but since there was no one he could fight with, he became bored quickly and left. He headed stright for the mountains to join his fellow Giants. This is how Grr became so famous.

Part two:

Grr is about 26 feet tall. He has brown hair and thanks to him always being in fights all of the time he had had much of his hair ripped out of his head. He has a crooked mouth and if he was to smile, which he never does, one would be able to see the many teeth that he was missing. covering his face is many scres that he had recieved in battle but Grr likes his scares cause it shows that even though he was in many battles he was the victor in most of them seeinfg as to how he was still alive. Grr's clothing are very dirty, ripped and bloody. He doent like to get new clothing and if he ever does run across the chance of getting new clothes he would take them, cover it in as much blood and dirt as he ca and than give it some rips too so that he looks like he's been in a fight recently. Most of the time he takes the clothes from those he killed.

Part One
Rangnorvik, a giant who comes from the deep cold of Siberia, is most famous for his travels to the East, England. The great giant fought in many battles in his life time, 1928-1984, he is perhaps well known not only for his great fighting skills but also for what is unusual for a giant, he died of old age. The main events in Rangnovik’s life are; the fight for leadership of the Siberian area, and his journey across Europe.

Leadership
Rangnorvik began his life in Siberia, a cold area of Russia, where he began his ambition of becoming leader of the giant community in Siberia. Typically giants are solitary creatures but on occasion they are found in communities, often in harsher conditions. Rangnorvik saw the injustice which was befalling those in the community under the leadership of Oofmangorvish. Rangnorvik began to make alliances with those who were being outcast in the community, but he was often shunned for being seen as weak. The turning point of Rangnorvik’s life was when his mother, Olandevik, was murdered in the community. Rangnorvik challenged Oofmangorvish’s leadership and won leadership of the community by ripping of Oofmangorvish’s head.

His Journey across Europe:
Once Rangnorvik had taken leadership of the small Siberian community he began to move west across Europe where Rangnorvik and his fellow giants could be seen to cause havoc and destruction throughout the lands. Many wizards and witches of the various ministers across the country debated what to do about the giant migration problem in Europe. After much discussion, and many experts from the Care of Magical Creatures Department being sent on envoys, the wizards and witches of the European wizarding council decided to take action against Rangnorvik and his band of pillaging giants. The wizards waged war against the giants, which was also unfortunately on the same day the muggle World War Two was declared. The European wizarding communities battle against the Siberian giants lasted little under a day where all but one giant, Rangnorvik, were killed.

His life after:
After Rangnorvik’s Siberian giants that were slaughtered at the hands of the European wizarding community he took to a quite life in the peak district in England where he lived much of his life and died there. It is believed by many that the EWC (European Wizarding Council) made some form of bargain with Rangnorvik, although this is written off by many as a conspiracy theory.

Part Two
Rangvorvik, is not large in comparison to other giants – some would go to say he is even small. However he is a muscular and agile with large source-pan hands. He has a short crop of blonde hair, with bangs that fall in front of his eyes. In addition he has a scar across his eye from his battle of the Siberian giant community leadership. He can often be seen wearing loose fitting shorts and rough fitting armour, which is fashioned after the armour in medieval England.

Unfortunately, this class is now close. Since there was never a part two and I have no desire to open one with very few people to participate, this class will be closed and moved.

However, I am going to reward 50 HP to EVERYONE that made a giant. It's no one's fault a second part was never made and I will not penalize anyone for it. Polly, since you already made a giant, I cannot grade this one. I will award you 20 extra points for the hard-work that went into making your second giant though.
