| I assume I'm allowed to put this here :3 So they're pretty simple. You will need: -two different fabrics (any kind of fabric will work, but stay away from stretch if you can. Contrasting colours look great!) You don't need much, depending on the owl's size so anywhere from 20x20cm to infinity! -the pattern -scissors -two buttons -toy stuffing -a sewing machine -hand sewing needle -thread So this is the pattern, it's kind of rough and really more of a guideline (I didn't measure it) because if you want the owl bigger/smaller you can do that easy - just add a few centimetres. The circle needs to be smaller than the bottom of the big piece and the triangle when sewn together, is really the only thing you need to watch. Also, the sides of the triangle should be the same length as the big shape. Don't worry if it doesn't turn out perfect, it's the kind of thing that works out anyway xD Step 1: Cut out your pieces. Simple enough. Step 2: Sew the triangle to the large piece, right sides* together. The point of the triangle should be at the top - so the point of the big shape is at the top too. If that makes sense. Sew on both sides. Step 3: Fold it all in half, right sides together - sew half-way up the point, leaving the top open, reverse**. Step 4: Using a big stitch length, sew a line from just outside the seam of the triangle to the other side, parallel to the edge of the fabric. Gather this so that it is the same size as the circle's circumference. Step 5: Sew bottom edge to circle; right sides together. Reverse. Step 6: Turn right side out and stuff with stuffing through the hole. Step 7: With a needle and thread sew tip of the triangle shape that has been created to the 'chest' of the owl. Sew eyes to either side of the 'beak'. And yay!! You have an owlie! *The right side is the side you want seen - the reverse/wrong side is generally the unprinted side of a fabric. **To reverse is to go over the beginning or end of a line of stitching to make sure it won't unravel. And you should get something like this: | |
