Illuminated (Clafin)

“Don’t you even try it,” Luke mumbled as Violet wrapped her arms around his neck. Luke was sitting in the living room, a class of firewhiskey in his hand. Violet sighed, moving away from him. It had been almost five years since Luke and Violet disappeared from the wizarding world, trying their best to bring back the pureblood control that Voldemort had failed to establish. So far, they had not been successful in their progress, but it didn’t stop them from trying. “You’re still in love with that mudblood aren’t you?” Violet asked him, her hand resting on his shoulder as she walking around to stand in front of him. Violet glared down at him while Luke stared at the fire.

“What if I am?” he asked her, grabbing her hand from his shoulder. Violet snatched her hand away, turning away from him. “What’s the point of putting pureblood control back into the world if you still love that….mudblood!” she yelled, kicking the coffee table over. Luke didn’t respond, but his hand clenched around his glass, his anger boiling. “Violet, just shut up…” he hissed, tearing his eyes from the fireplace to glare at her.

“No! I’m tired of working to make this life a bit better, but you keep acting stupid,” Violet yelled at him. Luke sat his glass down, slowly standing up. Even though he was roughly 6’3 and towered over Violet, she wasn’t scared of him. “Listen here, Violet, I’m trying my best to get over her and help you take over this pathetic little world. Why do you even care, you’re nothing but a leech,” he told her quietly. Violet could hear the edge of anger in his voice, which made her smirk. “Poor Luke…so in love with your little mudblood. She will be the first on my list die…I will personally make sure of it,” she hissed.

Luke glared before disapparating. Violet knew exactly where he was going. Like every time, he was running away to watch over his precious mudblood. Violet sighed, letting herself fall into the chair that Luke had been in and summoning some parchment and a quill. “It’s been awhile since I’ve talked Thomas….or the mudblood…I think I’ll send a warning…” she mumbled, grabbing the firewhiskey to take a drink from it.

Clafin was thrilled that it was finally summer and that she was going to be seeing Thomas today. She quickly made her way to The Leaky Cauldron, with a huge smile on her face. It took all the self control she had not to skip the entire way there. She couldn't help but feel that something was missing. It had been that way for quite a while, every since he had left. Clafin had been so heartbroken about his disappearance, she had forced herself to forget everything. She sometimes caught a faint scent of him in the air... the smell of warmth, rain, and dirt, but she knew it was just in her head. She made her way to her favorite table in the little tavern that gave way to Diagon Alley, to wait for Thomas.

Luckily, she didn't have very long. Thomas walked in with a scowl upon his face. Closing his eyes and rubbing his temples, he walked over to the table he knew Clafin would be at. As soon as he took a seat, he let out a long sigh. "What is it now, my dear Thomas?" his small friend asked, through a large grin. He growled in response and opened his eyes in irritation. "I have a bloody headache, okay? That's all." It had come out in a tone so harsh, that he instantly felt bad, but was too angry to apologize.

The minute Luke’s feet touched the ground, he felt a shift in the air. Even with his eyes closed, he could tell she wasn’t home. Her scent, the smell of chocolate and flowers, was not around. He was worried at first, every muscle in his body tensed, but seconds later, he realized that her house was empty of everything. Confusion clouded his face as he backed up, trying to figure out how long it had been since he had seen Clafin. Weeks….months….years? He couldn’t remember, but the fact that she was no longer in the last place he had seen her, watched her for many nights, worried him to the core. It was all his fault. If he hadn’t allowed Violet to manipulate him, he could have stayed with Clafin, hiding from that ignorant vampire.

Luke ran a hand through his hair, clearly irritated and nervous. “Keep calm….don’t worry, Luke…she may be in Diagon Alley….” he mumbled, his hands shaking a bit.

Violet sat with her knees up, staring at the fire and the bottle of firewhiskey resting in her hand. She had sent the letter to Thomas, knowing it more than likely would affect him more than it would Clafin. She always grew bored of messing with Clafin, but she never grew tired of threatening Thomas. On the inside, she was smirking, but on the outside, her face was emotionless. “I need to get out of this house…” she mumbled, tipping the bottle back as it met her lips.

“This is all Luke’s fault….stupid mudblood lover,” she mumbled, closing her eyes and leaning her head back.

Clafin rolled her eyes and let her mouth drop into a slight frown. "You don't have to be rude," she said, faking a pout and looking at Thomas with her eyes squinted. Something was off about the way he looked. She couldn't tell what it was exactly, but she knew he wasn't telling her the whole truth. "You also don't have to lie to me. Tell me what happened." she demanded, her face dropping further with frustration and worry.

"It's nothing, Fin. Just leave it alone." he half snarled out at her, causing her to wince. After sitting in silence for a while, he finally decided it wouldn't hurt to share what had happened. "I just got a letter from someone, who I'd rather forget. That's all." his voice aching with the obvious pain. He looked up at Clafin to find a question in her eyes. "Violet." he said automatically, without thinking of how it would affect his friend.

It felt as though all the air in her lungs had decided to leave her all at once. Clafin couldn't find the words to speak, so she simply nodded her head. Violet had been his best friend, or at least the only person he seemed to care about enough to stay with. She could feel the tears burning behind her eyes, but forced them back to focus on her friend. "I'm sorry, Thomas... Anything that I can do to help?" she asked quietly, pushing her hand forward upon the table to his in effort to comfort him. The door swung open and Clafin caught a scent that toyed with mer memories.

Violet pushed herself from the chair, letting the bottle fall from her hands as she made her way to the window. “It’s time….” she mumbled, pulling her hand out. She pointed it at the sky, whispering the charm her father had taught her once. The green skull shined softly down at the ground, her smirk appearing on her face. She was half tempted to send another letter, but decided not to. Luke would get the hint when he felt his arm burn. After replacing her wand, she made her way to the closet, grabbing her robes and mask, running her fingers softly over the lines that she marked into it.

Luke finally disapparated from Clafin’s use to be house to London. He had never used the muggle-born entrance to The Leaky Cauldron, to he was completely amazed to see all the muggles pass by without even a second glance. He shrugged his shoulders, pushing open the door. The small tavern wasn’t very well lit, which didn’t surprise him at all. He was half sure there was a banshee in one corner, who had more than likely lost her voice. After a quick glance, he found Clafin, sitting alone with Thomas.

He could tell Thomas was irritated, but his eyes were stuck on Clafin. He hadn’t seen her up close in years. There was a small pang in his chest, but he didn’t care, all he wanted was to be around her, to beg for forgiveness.

Thomas just shook his head in frustration. "She wrote me a damn letter. Who does she thi-" Thomas cut himself short. He could have sworn he heard someone think Clafin's name. He looked around the dimly lighted tavern for someone who looked familiar. His eyes drifted over several people until they landed upon Luke. He instantly turned around and stiffened. Thomas attempted to keep a conversation going with Clafin, so that she wouldn't see him but his thoughts had left his head completely.

Clafin was beginning to worry that her friend had gone completely insane when he cut off his words mid sentence. She knew that Violet did often have that affect on him, but this seemed a bit different than usual. She watched his face carefully as he looked around the room. As soon as he turned around, she knew something was wrong. She glanced around the room to see what was the matter, and saw him. "Luke?" she breathed in a heartbroken whisper. She could no longer force back the tears that had formed in her chocolatey eyes. She lowered her face, embarrassed.

Luke knew he had been caught the minute Thomas’s eyes landed on him. He half hoped Clafin wouldn’t notice, but knew it was effortless as she turned around, her eyes landing on him. He swallowed back the lump in his throat at the same moment his marked burned in his arm. He had to admire Violet’s bravery, summoning a bunch of racist purebloods and a few new vampires to a gathering that was more than likely going to fail. Instead of focusing on Violet, he pushed her to the back of his mind and made his way towards Clafin, who had put her head down somewhat, tears flooding her eyes. He could tell Thomas looked mad, but he didn’t care. He just wanted to explain and then drop back off the face of the world, back with Violet, back with all the hate.

Violet leaned against the wall, waiting for the idiots to appear in the room. She knew Luke wouldn’t turn up, not after searching for his little mudblood. She stared down at her nails, glaring at the chipped blood red fingernail polish she had applied a few days ago. That’s why she hated muggle things, it never lasted. After the room was full of muffled whispers and coughs, she pushed herself from the wall, walking to the center of the room.

“I’ve come up with an idea….it’s pretty risky, but it shouldn’t fail…” she said softly, staring at one person in particular. “It involves messing with the mind of a mudblood…one very close to Luke…I figured maybe Henry would want it?” she asked softly. Henry glared, but stepped forward. “Why is it always me that you choose to irritate when your idiot leaves?” he asked her, bowing in the process.

Clafin didn't want to look up, half in hope that he wasn't imaginary and the other half praying he wasn't walking towards her. She felt Thomas' grip on her hand tighten and instantly knew something was about to happen. Whether that something was good or bad, she had no idea. She pulled her free hand up to her face, wiping away any evidence of her emotions. Taking a deep breath, she looked up to see Luke standing there.

"What do you want, mutt?" Thomas spoke for her, in much harsher words than she would have managed. His obvious distaste for the boy, evident in every word he spoke. Clafin's head snapped towards Thomas in disbelief, then back towards Luke's face. Something had changed about him. His face remained as beautiful as it had ever been, but his eyes looked tired and angry.

“Because I can depend on you to do the job right,” Violet said, glaring down at Henry’s back. She barely knew anything about him, except the fact that he had been a Slytherin also. Henry stood back up, returning her glare with as much fire as she was. “I will do my mission …” he said, but Violet caught the hesitation in his voice. She raised her eyebrow, crossing her arms. “Is there something you want to add on?” she asked, backing up just a bit.

Henry shook his head, backing up into the group once more. Violet nodded, looking at the rest of the group. “Now….the other part of the plan….I need someone who can break into the Ministry….and someone to pose as a student or teacher at Hogwarts. We need to get members….” she mumbled, walking in place. After a few minutes, she stopped, staring at the rest of the people. “Well? What are you waiting for!?” she yelled. Most of the people jumped and disapparated, leaving Violet and Henry alone to plan.

Luke’s eyes narrowed. “I want nothing to do with you, leech,” he said harshly, his eyes still on Clafin. She looked as beautiful as ever, even with the tears cloudy her vision. He could tell she had changed, just by the shift in the air around her. He smiled a bit at Clafin, pulling a chair from the table by them for him to sit on. “I need you to listen to me…” he mumbled softly, raising his hand up to takes hers only to think twice and put his hand back down.

Thomas glared at Luke and stood from the table. "Go away, you flee hotel. She doesn't want to talk to you." he growled in a low voice. He attempted to control his anger, but the letter from Violet had pushed him passed his limit. His hands were curled tightly into fists at his side.

Clafin kept her eyes on Luke, trying to mask all the thoughts and emotions that were running through her. His hand reached out towards her, then returned to it's place by him. "It's okay, Tom." she said in a numb tone. She paused for a moment, before continuing. "Well...?" she asked, impatiently.

Thomas rolled his eye and walked away. The back of his head was seering in pain. Violet, I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with this... Stop, now. Or else. I'm not in the mood to deal with your immaturity or having to fix Clafin again. he thought, in attempt that it would reach her.

Violet kept her back towards Henry, her hands resting on the edges of the window pane. “I expect you to finish your mission quickly. Make her fall ‘in love’ with you as quickly as possible. Considering the fact that you resemble Luke in a way…that should be easy. All muggles are the same…” Violet mumbled, her head turned to the side. “Then again….so are purebloods who no longer feel they should serve me, the daughter of the great Lord Voldemort…” she said softly, turning to face him finally. Henry said nothing, but stood with her shoulders rigid, half tempted to pull his wand out.

“Like I said…I want this mission done quickly. I would prefer her dead…but bringing her alive will be just as better. Poor mudblood should have stayed away,” Violet said. She heard a small pop, which notified her that Henry had left. Violet looked up towards the moon and closed her eyes. She pulled herself up on the window pane, with the intentions of jumping off to see if it would still hurt when a sharp pain attacked her skulls. She jumped back, losing balance as she grabbed her at head. ‘Violet, I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish with this…Stop, now. Or else. I’m not in the mood to deal with your immaturity or having to fix Clafin again.’ After Violet let the pain pass, a small smirk appeared on her face.

“I would like to see you try, lover boy…” she hissed softly, hoping it would also pass through the connection he had established.

Luke bit the inside of his cheek, waiting for Thomas to walk off. After he did, looking extremely ticked off. “Violet is making a trap…I know it….she always tries to come after you. I have no idea why, but she seems to have an obsession with making Thomas and I extremely mad…” he mumbled to her. After a few minutes, he stared back at the ground, not sure of what to say. “I’ve missed you,” he told her, half hoping she heard, half hoping she didn’t.

The back of his head was pulsating in pain, causing Thomas to rub his temples fast. “I would like to see you try, lover boy…” he heard Violet's voice say. He had to laugh at her choice in vocabulary. "Violet, you and I both know that love," he paused to emphasize, "has nothing to do with this. This is your immaturity and unreasonable hatred for Clafin and myself. Quite possibly Luke as well." He continued rubbing his head and leaned against a cold stone wall.

Clafin thought a moment about what Luke had said and replied with a shrug. "Well, it's not as though I've been hiding. I can't pretend as though I even care anymore." she said in a tone that was full of both sadness and biterness. She studied his face for a moment, before looking away. She couldn't stand being able to see him, being close enough to touch him. It was almost worse than the day she had found he left. She heard him mumble something softly, and turned to face him. "What was that?" she asked simply, still trying to mask emotion.

Violet had braced herself for the next wave of thoughts to come through, yet it still hit her like a ton of bricks. Her head was pounding and her skull felt like it was on fire. Deep down, she had the feeling that Thomas was responsible for her side of the pain. ‘Violet, you and I both know that love…has nothing to do with this. This is you immaturity and unreasonable hatred for Clafin and myself. Quite possibly Luke as well,’ she heard. Violet laughed, shaking her head.

“Oh dear…I see someone in bitter. Your poor brat has everything to do with it. I will personally make sure she is killed….if worse…trapped with me for the rest of her miserable life. Maybe that would teach that flea bitten mutt not to betray his trust in his master…or mistress if you want to get technically,” she said, hoping he could hear how shrilled her voice was.

As Luke listened to her, his rage started to get the best of him. Of course she was in hiding. How the hell did she think she could escape Violet attempt after attempt. She didn’t know it, but he did. He placed every charm and curse he could find around her, protecting her. He had to watch from afar as Violet tried to penetrate into his mind and find her whereabouts. He had not let it happened and he suffered greatly for it. Luke had drifted into space but her sentence brought him back.

“What I said doesn’t matter,” he mumbled, standing up. “Just watch out for Violet’s tricks. I’m tired of trying to protect you. Let the leech do it,” he said, throwing a few knuts on the table. He pushed his chair back under the table, walking around her to make his way to the hidden shops behind the small tavern.

The pain in his head had subsided, even after he had gotten the next message from Violet. “Oh dear…I see someone in bitter. Your poor brat has everything to do with it. I will personally make sure she is killed….if worse…trapped with me for the rest of her miserable life. Maybe that would teach that flea bitten mutt not to betray his trust in his master…or mistress if you want to get technically,” He rolled his eyes dramatically. "What is this all really about, Violet? What do you have against her?" he asked, protectively.

Clafin stared after Luke in astonishment. "Who the bloody hell do you think you are?!" she yelled after him, while rising to her feet. Her hands were shaking from anger, she had to control herself before something bad happened. " You have no right to just come waltzing back into my life and be a complete git. I don't need your damn protection. What I needed was you!" she said in a stern voice walking towards him. "But of course I didn't matter enough. Did I?" she paused a moment, waiting for him to respond. Before he could though, her demeanor softened and she spoke, "... and for the record, I missed you too." She glanced down at her feet before looking up into his eyes.

Violet closed her eyes, waiting for the message to come once more. After that, she was closing the connection, even if it she was tempted to answer his question. ‘What is this all really about, Violet? What do you have against her?’ she heard in her head. She could hear how protective he was getting and it made her feel a twinge of jealousy. She debated with herself for a few seconds before closing her eyes and closing the connection he had made. She didn’t care anymore.

Luke didn’t make it far until he heard her shout at him. He froze, afraid that if he turned around, his eyes would betray him. While she shouted, he kept his eyes closed, inhaling quietly to keep himself calm. “I thought you didn’t hear me?” he asked her, turning around finally. Clafin’s face was red from her shouting, yet she looked even more beautiful. “I need to go…just take what I said into consideration,” he said, pulling his wand out.

Thomas got a sudden wave of jealousy, but he had no idea where it came from. It took him a moment to realize that it hadn't been his jealousy at all, it was Violet's. He growled in frustration a second later, when he felt the connection being broken. He pushed himself off of the wall with such force that one of the bricks crumbled under his fingertips.

Clafin blushed as he turned around and spoke to her. "Of course I heard what you said, I just wanted to hear it again." she said quietly. She watched him pull out his wand and heard him say he had to go. Something inside of her clicked. She couldn't handle having him leaving her again. "Don't." she said in synthetic firmness. She looked up at him with hope in her eyes. "Please, don't go." she asked, her composure faltering.

Luke glanced at her, but his eyes kept going to the back of the tavern. The way she said asked him not to go made something snap and a waterfall of emotions came crashing back into him. After debating with himself, he nodded, allowing himself to sink into the chair that had been Thomas’s. “I won’t go just yet…” he told her, waiting for her to take a seat. “I guess you want to know exactly what I’ve been doing?” he asked her, his eyes leaving hers and going back to the floor.

“This shall be fun..” she mumbled, pulling herself back up on the window. Instead of jumping this time, she let herself sit on it, her eyes closed as she waited. For what? She didn’t know just yet. “Pip! Bring me some mudblood…and now!” she shouted as the small house elf moved around.

Thomas tried and tried to open up another connection with Violet. He wanted answers, and he wanted them now. His frustration had caused his thirst to turn his throat into sandpaper. With every breathe he took, he fet like he was suffocating. He knew that this would only make him stronger though, so he resisted the urge to snap the next neck that walked by. He waited until his body reacted enough to force a message through to Violet. "Come find me. NOW." he demanded. Closing off the connection, he went outside to wait.

Her heart could have leapt with joy as she watched Luke take a seat at the table. Clafin slowly retreated to the chair she had been sitting in, while she glance around for Thomas who was nowhere to be seen. She couldn't believe that Luke, her Luke, was going to stay... even if it was only for a moment longer. She couldn't shake herself out of her daze as she looked back at his beautiful face. She only barely managed to nod her head in reply to his question.

Luke cleared his throat, not sure where he should start. Moments later, he leaned back, staring into her eyes. “Of…so after I left…or what you would classify as ‘left’, Violet and I started what her father left for her. Of course, she has been trying for months…years…to get to you. I’m not sure if it’s to get to me or Thomas…but it’s been working. Thomas doesn’t know, but I’ve been putting curses and charms around your house to keep Violet away. She’s getting closer now, but as long as she doesn’t know, she won’t find out. I’ve tried, honestly, to get away…but I’ve gotten in too far. I can’t leave her now…” he mumbled, thinking of what else to say.

Violet glared as another message came through, Thomas’s voice harsh and cruel. After the wave left, she shook her head, waiting for Pip to bring her what she wanted. In seconds, a small goblet appeared by her. “Thank you, Pip….that is all,” she said softly, taking a sip. The blood was warm, spiked with a bit of firewhiskey. She shook her head, taking another sip. “I’m not coming…idiot,” she mumbled, not caring if it went through or not.

Clafin forced the urge to roll her eyes. "No, of course not..." she managed to whisper in response to him not being able to leave Violet. She didn't understand what it was that Violet had against her. Could it be because she was a Potter? Clafin sighed quietly and looked down at Luke's hand. She wished she was strong enough to reach out and grab it. It would be warm and rough, just as she remembered.

Thomas smiled wickedly as Violet's message went through. He hadn't been a complete idiot, as she must have assumed. Thomas was smart, strong, and powerful as both a wizard and a vampire. "Fine." he force the message through, cutting off the connection. "Then I'm coming to you." he finished to himself. With a small pop, he had disappeared.

Luke cleared his throat, his eyes going towards the bar. “I’ll be back,” he said, standing up. He made his way towards the bar as the door opened. Without really thinking, he let his eyes go towards it. He was sure he knew the guy who walked in, but couldn’t place his face with a name. With a shrugged, he told Tom what he wanted and got a Butterbeer for Clafin.

Henry made his way through the door, after backtracking all the places Luke could have gone. Anyone that was anyone was at the Leaky Cauldron. Although, he usually went to the Hog’s Head, to be alone and not be fussed with all the drama in the witches’ everyday life. He let his eyes roaming the tavern, taking in everyone that was in there. He smirked, his eyes resting on Luke for a few seconds. Clafin couldn’t be that far from him. He took a seat at the bar, waiting for Luke to go back to his table.

Violet received the last message before rolling her eyes. She had gotten use to the pain, no longer allowing it to bother her. With a small sign, she drained the last bit of blood in her goblet, snapping her fingers to allow Pip to know it was time to clean up. The small goblet disappeared with a pop and Violet stood up, waiting.

Clafin watched silently as Luke walked over to the bar. The way that all of his muscles flexed, humbly displaying his strength. She took a deep breath in, and realized she could still smell the earthy musk that he had always had. Clafin took another deep breath through her nose trying to memorize it completely, but was instead greeted by the bitter smell of blood and fire whiskey. She crinkled her nose in distaste. The smell reminded her of Violet.

With a pop, Thomas stood in front of Violet. His frustration completely obvious in his appearance. His hair was ten times messier than normal, and his jaw was clenched tightly. "What are you getting at?" he asked in the most calm voice that was possible.

Violet barely flinched when she heard the pop in her house. She had been sitting at a vanity, pulling the ribbon from her hair so she could brush her hair out again. She glanced in the mirror when she heard the pop, her green eyes focusing on him. “What are you getting at?” he asked her. She raised her eyebrow, shaking her head. “I think you need to fix your hair. Makes you look filthy,” she told him, sliding the brush in his direction.

Luke made his way to the table, twisting his neck in an unnerved manner. He could feel someone’s eyes on him, looking down into his soul. He sat the bottles on the table, clearing his throat a bit. “Do you mind switching spots with me?” he asked her, his body telling him to turn around and find the person.

Henry waited, watching Luke make his way to the table. He watched as he stood near the table of a pretty girl, who looked tired but happy at the same time. He was confused a bit, but didn’t move incase that could have been someone else and not his intended target.

Thomas found himself laughing at her snide comment. "Says the girl who hangs around dogs." he said, taking a couple of steps towards her. His mind flashed back to the first time they kissed. He shook his head slightly, trying to force the memory to the back of his head. "Vi..." he said quietly, taking a deep breath. "I don't understand why you're doing this."

Clafin silently nodded her head, looking a bit confused. She looked up and smiled at a boy standing across the room from them. She stood and walked past Luke, sighing quietly as she sat in his chair. It was still warm from his body. She reached across the table, and grasped the mug of Butterbeer with her small hands. She looked at Luke in the silence. Something was wrong, his body was tense and his jaw was clenched. She cocked her head to the side slightly, questioning him.

Violet shrugged, pulling the brush back to her. “Hmm….funny….we both hang around dirty fools. At least mine isn’t pathetic,” she mumbled, not caring if he heard it or not. She watched him shake his head from the mirror, pulling her hair back up into the black ribbon. “I have nothing to say to you. I do what I please because I can. And I no longer go by ‘Vi.’ Pick another little pet name, lover boy,” she hissed, standing up. The chair she had been sitting in tipped over and made her way to the door. “Stay if you please, I could care less,” she told him harshly, pulling the door open and slamming it behind her.

Henry smirked, watching Luke and the girl change seats. He saw her flash a smile in his direction and he nodded once, sipping the firewhiskey he had ordered. The liquid burned a path down his throat, but the last thing he cared about was that horrible ache. He needed a way to get closer to them, to hear what they were talking about, but didn’t want to draw attention to himself. In spite of the dangers, he pulled his invisibility cloak his father gave him out and when a group of witches went by, he slipped it on.

Luke was relieved when she agreed to switch chairs with him. When passed around her, his smelled a light flowery scent and closed his eyes for a few seconds before allowing himself to sit. He had a perfect few of the guy who was at the bar, staring in their direction. The second he blinked, a group of witches went by, giggling and throwing their heads back in glee. Of course the guy would vanish. His body tensed again, afraid to make any sudden movements. “I fear we are being watched…” he mumbled, not intending for her to hear.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Thomas asked angrily. He never could understand Violet's hatred for Clafin. Vi didn't seem like the kind of person to hold people accountable for what their relatives did. "I'll call you whatever I so please." Thomas said through a smirk. He watched her silently as she moved about the room. With a loud bang, the door slammed shut and Thomas couldn't help but smile to himself. He walked over to the door and gently opened it. "You know, you really ought to do something about that temper." he called after her.

"Luke?" she whispered quietly. "Is everything alright?" Turning in her seat to try to see what his perfect eyes were staring at. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary. She waited a moment and saw something shimmering coming closer to them. Her face, written with concern and confusion, turned back to her companion. She quietly slipped her hands into her bag and began to fidget with her wand. It was an awful nervous habit, but she hadn't been able to rid of it since she was seven. "Luke, look at me please." she said sweetly.

Violet turned sharply, glaring up at him. She was speechless for the first time in a long time. Without a word, she turned from him, making her way back down the stairs. "I don't have time for you and your games. I want you gone," she told him after thinking about it. "Pip....another glass if you would," she said. Seconds later, a glass appeared near her, except this time it was pure water. She sipped it silently, looking around her hall. She had no idea if Thomas had left, her mind telling her she knew she didn't want him too. It had been years since she had seen him and memories were surfacing once more. Now that she thought about it, what exactly did she have against Clafin?

Luke, who was barely paying any attention, shook his head. "Not right now, Clafin...maybe later," he mumbled, not even listening to her question. Luke tried to find where he could be, but gave up. If there was one thing he couldn't do, he couldn't find invisibility cloaks like most wizards could. He sighed, staring back at Clafin. "What in the world are you doing?" he asked her, watching her dig in her purse for something.

Henry sat as close, but as far as he could, from the group. He knew he had been spotted, but hoped the girl would have thought it was a trick of the eye. He heard Luke ask her what she was doing and he pulled his wand out, knowing he would need it if Luke caught his scent, mixed with the smell of Violet.

Thomas watched as Violet turned to glare at him. She looked as though she were about to make another snide comment or yell at him, but instead she just turned around and made her way down the stairs. He stood there for a moment in shock. Had she really just given up a chance to enrage somebody? After recovering from the shock of the situation, Thomas quietly made his way down the stairs. "I'm not going to leave, you know?" he whispered down her neck as he took a step closer to be standing directly behind her.

Clafin's hands continued to nervously fidget with her wand as she looked around for the shimmer she'd seen moments before. "Hm?" she asked quietly, peeling her eyes away from a blank wall to look at the boy sitting across from her. "Oh," she shook her head, causing her bangs to fall into her eyes. "I just... uh... sorry. Nervous habit." she said quietly, as blood rushed to her cheeks. She glanced quickly over at the wall, and then down to her lap, to hide her face.

Violet didn’t make a move when she heard Thomas come into the same room as her, trying to be quiet. She glared at the floor, sipping her water, while trying to ignore him. She moved away from him, deciding it was better to keep walking then to let him corner her some how.

Luke smiled, watching her blush. “I forgot how cute you were when you done that…” he said softly, finally getting the nerves to reach across the table and grab her hands in his. Her hands were soft in his and it had been years since he had the chance to do so. “I’ve missed you more than you could know,” he told her, still keeping his guard up.

Violet turned to move and Thomas reached out to gently grab her arm. He didn't want her to leave him standing alone in the cold empty hallway. He was torn between kissing her and forcing her to tell him what she was up to. He rubbed his thumb on her soft wrist. Had he owned a properly functioning heart, he was sure it would be pounding.

Clafin pulled her hands away from Luke's in an almost violent manner. Her face written with worry and confusion, tilted to the side a bit. She wanted to stare at his beautiful face, but she couldn't fight off the feeling of being watched. She glanced around the area until she found the slight shimmer in the air hovering a few feet away. She grabbed on to her wand even tighter, her nerves getting the best of her. "Luke, I think it may be best if we go else where." she whispered quietly, not tearing her eyes away.
