Part 1: Places
1. What is the significance of religion in the witch trials of Salam?
Religons did not believe that witches were at all good, and the people feared anyone who was strange, incase they were a witch.
2. Explain how Egyptian magical history works its way into the Harry Potter timeline.
The split between witches and wizards, and muggles involved Egyptian magic. Egyptian muggles and Egyptian witches and wizards got along fine together, and lived peacefully and respected each other. Then the two communities separated, as did their worlds. Hogwarts was formed and the muggle world and the magical world completely split.
3. Write a short timeline on the history of Quidditch
1300s- Bowman Wright invents the Golden Snitch
1368- Wizards Council bans Quidditch playing within 100 miles of a town
1473- first Quidditch World Cup
1711- The quaffle is made scarlet to stand out in the mud
1750- Department of Magical Games and Sports is founded
1883- Goalposts replace baskets for scoring
1944- Ireland defeats Bulgaria in the Quidditch World Cup
4. Select one moment in muggle history that deals with magic and explain the significance it has on witches today.
In the 90s’ the Harry Potter books hit the stands. This introduced muggles to a whole different world. Witches and wizards both were placed in danger as a result of the muggles who could now understand their entire world, and possible destroy it. Still today, the minister of magic has to clear things up with the prime minister of the muggles to make sure the magical world stays safe. (I assumed you were talking about the salam witch trials, but I decided to go a different route lol)
Part 2: People
1. Choose three different legendary witches and/or wizards throughout history and document in detail what they have given to the future community.
Albus Dumbledore headed Hogwarts and trained Harry Potter. He gave advice to the Ministry of Magic(when they would listen) and defeated the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945. He is known for his discovery of the use of dragon blood, and his work with Nicholas Flamel and alchemy.
Remus Lupin assisted Dumbledore and the Order of the Phoneix, as well as Harry and Hogwarts.
Mad Eye Moody is a member of the Order of the Phoneix and a retired auror who helped hunt down countless death eaters and most likely saved many lives because of that.
2. Select four different members of the original Order of the Phoenix and document in brief their work within the order.
Elphias Doge assisted the order in the Rise to Power, and also assisted in getting Harry.
Alastor Moody hunted down deatheaters for the order. He was known for never using the unforgivable curses in the Rise to Power, and bringing back deatheaters alive, not dead.
Frank and Alice Longbottom were tortured but never gave up information about the Order.
James and Lily Potter fought against Voldemort and for the Order, but were murdered by him.
3. Choose two of the founders of Hogwarts and explain how their work can still be seen in the modern day Hogwarts.
Salazar Slytherin wanted Hogwarts to not be open to muggleborns. This is seen in the racist attitudes of all the Slytherins who believe that muggleborns should not be allowed in the school.
Godric Gryffindor wanted Hogwarts students to be loyal and brave to each other. Gryffindor students are always looking out for each other, and sticking together. They also always step up bravely to do their part.
4. Select one Hogwarts Experience staff member and document their work and achievement within the site from the beginning of the first year
Elfie (who runs and staffs, lol) has been working on this site since way before day 1. Everything you see on this site is her creation.
