I admire Candys art work. Her Artwork inspires me to try to make my own banners and graphics. Candys Banners and graphics give off a sofisticated vibe that I think makes her banners different from other artists.
This is one of my fav of her works of art (hehe). I love how she made the banner flirty and fun. It has a glazed over happy feel when you first look at it but as time passes and your still staring you noatice all the l;ittle details that form together to make the banner a whole. Like for example the blotches and the X's arnt the first thing you see... at first you see The main points which are Hermione and Draco.. then Mickey mouse comes into veiw and the little details such as the blotches and the X's and the texture come to your attention and give the banner its life.( i hope that was ok... | I love Claude Monet’s paintings, because they’re always sort of hazy and dreamy. He tried to reflect the influence of light on a subject…he would paint the same object over and over, each time in different light, and each time it would be different. This resulted in his series ‘Haystacks.’ He painted many landmarks in London in the fog…he once said, “Without the fog, London would not be a beautiful city.” He said that rather than paint, say ‘a bridge, house or boat’ he would paint ‘the air surrounding the bridge, house or boat.’ In his words, ‘the beauty of the air in which these objects are located…that is nothing short of impossible.’ He created a water-garden at Giverny, and this served as the theme for the series of paintings ‘Water-lilies.’ This series began in 1899 and eventually dominated his work; in 1914 he built a special studio in his house so that he could work on the huge canvases without having to endure the weather outside. He liked challenging himself. He began suffering from physical problems; after 1907 he had rheumatism and bad eyesight. Imagine how hard it was for him to paint then. Still he continued until he died, in 1926. My favourite paintings are the water-lilies. I can imagine myself standing right there…and they make me feel peaceful. Sometimes a ‘v’ of ducks fly across the sky, honking, and other times it is silent, only trees rustling slightly in a breeze. The water is so enticing I almost want to leap in…but I know that the beauty can be viewed better from the outside, so I stand at the side of the pool and admire the water-lilies. This one's my favorite And this one is so realistic, yet still has that dreamy quality Sources: http://www.artelino.com/articles/claude_monet.asp, http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/monet/

| I love Thomas Kinkade's paintings. They are beautiful and relaxing to look at. They all bring about a certain peace within. They are simple paintings yet inspiring. I own several of his pieces and must say that I admire them quite often. He has been dubbed "The painter of light." His work is different that other artist because of the way he paints. His art is so lifelike you can almost hear the water babbling in the brook or the sleigh bells jingling on the hose drawn carriage being pulled through the snow. He is also the most collected living artist meaning that he has sold more paintings than any other artist who is alive. This painting is called "Bridge of Faith." It is one of my favorites. I own this piece . The colors of the leaves on the trees and the flowers is spectacular, and I love the little brook with the stones in it. Can you see how it looks like the sunlight is peeking through the trees and shining on part of the brook and the bridge? Looking at this makes me feel serene and peaceful. | |

| Ansel Adams I have chosen a photographic artist as photography is a great hobby of mine. Although there are many photographers around, each with their unique style, I have chosen Ansel adams for his simplicity and perfection. Adams was an American Photographer, (1902-1984) , and his simplistic views of the natural world, shown often in the light of black and white is what makes me enjoy looking at his art. This print above was taken in 1958 in Aspens, Northern New Mexico. Yes, it may be just a tree to the untrained eye, but what is amazing is that this photographer has taken something that many would overlook, though something in which exists hugely within our world and has taken it from the view of mother nature. Another of my favourite prints is that of the Nevada Fall, Rainbow, Yosemite National Park, taken in 1946. It captures the serenity of the scene and draws the viewer right into the picture. - Quote :
- 'I hope that my work will encourage self expression in others and stimulate the search for beauty and creative excitement in the great world around us' - Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams received a number of awards during his lifetime and posthumously, and there have been a few awards named for him. Some of the highlights include: Doctor of Arts, Harvard University Doctor of Arts, Yale University Conservation Service Award, Department of Interior - 1968 Presidential Medal of Freedom - 1980 Mount Ansel Adams - 1985 Ansel Adams Wilderness - 1985 A couple of other photos by this photographer in which I love:

| I think Amy Brown's artwork is gorgeous. She paints faeries and fantasy characters, but not (as a rule) in a child's-picture-book way. Her characters have real emotion and posture, and although many of them lack defined feet, they look as human as you or I. Her earlier works are all of women, and are all in the same similar style - bold outlines, pale skin and fine-featured faces. One of the best examples of this style is Forget Me Not, drawn in 1998. It is of a blackhaired, blue winged faeriewoman, sitting in front of her namesake flower on a bed of ivy leaves. The picture is very peaceful, as she appears to be daydreaming in her own little world. | |

| Leonardo Da Vinci is my favorite artist. He was a genius. Since I first of him I have admired him.He was a painter, an inventer, a philosopher, and many other things. His work is amazing. One thing that made him so amazing was the mystery of him. His notebook was written in his own code which is so amazing in my opinion. He also left the mystery of mona lisa. Who is she? My personal idea, based on the imagination and creativity of Leonardo is that it is his own depiction of what he would have looked like as a woman. I love his painting The Mona Lisa. It has such mystery to it. It makes me think of who she is and why he painted her. | |

| Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni
I have always loved art, since I was a child. Likewise, I have always been drawn to Michelangelo. We have a few things in common, and I think we share a special bond. His Birthday is March 6th, just like mine. He's Italian, Just like me too! His art to me is just so incredibly personal and deep. He is so different form a lot of artists in his day. He was not a big fan of painting instead he chose to focus on sculpting and writting. Dabbling in just about every form there is he was the ultimate Renaissance man. One of my most beloved pieces by him would be his Pieta, which is in the Vatican. It shows a mother holding her son who has just been crucified. The amount of detail he put into this piece is breathtaking. You feel as though you are actually standing in front of them and have become a part of the scene. Michelangelo's interpretation of the Pieta was quite different form other artists. He shows Mary as serene and youthful not broken hearted. Being religious myself, I find his depiction beautiful. I would like to believe although she was saddened by her son's death, she had a greater understanding of what was happening and what was to come. Therefore she would be at peace with the events taking place. I feel the same way about this piece. It used to make me feel extremley sad to think of a mother holding her sons corpse after she has just watched him being crucified. But now I am content when I look at this sculpture. | Normally I'm a fan of impressionist paintings, but a few years go I visited the Dallas Art Museum and came upon a painting entitled Cinderella at the Kitchen Fire by Thomas Sully. I love fairytales, in particular Cinderella, and the rich colors of the painting entranced me. The painting depicts Cinderella in front of the hearth playing with a small cat, in the background you can just glimpse her stepsister primping for the ball. The face of Sully’s Cinderella is lit with serenity. Her face shines out from the canvass like a star. I was lucky enough to get a small print at the gift shop and it hangs in my living room where it reminds me daily to enjoy the small moments, for even though Cinderella was made a servant by her stepfamily and treated cruelly she is still able to take in the simple pleasures of sitting in front of the fireplace petting a beloved cat. I’ve studied some of Thomas Sully’s other works and they are equally beautiful. Born in England, he was raised in Virginia (my birth state!) and settled in Pennsylvania (lived there too!). He did mostly portrait paintings, including John Quincy Adams and Marquis de Lafayette. He started seriously studying art when he was just 12, and his attention to detail brings the faces of his subjects to life. His use of color and light are spectacular. I’ve included three examples of his work, including Cinderella at the Kitchen Fire, The Vanderkemp Children (the boy with the dark hair just has an angelic face), and Mrs. Caleb Newbold and Her Son Thomas. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://2img.net/h/i149.photobucket.com/albums/s58/RigbyDumbledore/cinderallathomassully.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://2img.net/h/i149.photobucket.com/albums/s58/RigbyDumbledore/sully-vanderkempchildren1832.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://2img.net/h/i149.photobucket.com/albums/s58/RigbyDumbledore/ThomasSullySummary.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

| I choose Vincent van Gogh. Vincent Willem van Gogh (full name) was born on March 30, 1853 and died on July 29, 1890. He is a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist. He us a pioneer of Expressionism with enormous influence on 20th century art, especially on the Fauves and German Expressionists. Some of his paintings are now among the world's best known, most popular and expensive works of art. Expressionism, as one of the movement he pioneered, was a cultural movement originating in Germany at the start of the 20th-century as a reaction to positivism and other artistic movements such as naturalism and impressionism. It is the tendency of an artist to distort reality for an emotional effect. It is a subjective art form. I was inspired by Vincent van Gogh because he has expressed the meaning of "being alive" and the emotional experience rather than physical reality. Why Vincent van Gogh's work of art considered unique? It is simply because he lived more than 115 years ago, and yet his artwork is still altering the way mankind views beauty, persona, individuality, and style in art. His thousands of paintings and drawings have various characteristics that have been copied by thousands and duplicated by none. Van Gogh's unique life has inspired millions to become active in art. In fact, what many people today consider to be the archetypical "artist persona" is largely a result of his influence. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is that artists continue to mimic the style that Van Gogh created over one hundred years ago. One of this most best-known painting is STARRY NIGHT. The painting depicts the view outside his sanitarium room window at night, although it was painted from memory during the day. The center part shows the village of Saint-Rémy under a swirling sky, in a view from the asylum towards north. The Alpilles far to the right fit to this view, but there is little rapport of the actual scene with the intermediary hills which seem to be derived from a different part of the surroundings, south of the asylum. The cypress tree to the left was added into the composition. Starry Night was painted while Vincent was in the asylum at Saint-Rémy and his behaviour was very erratic at the time, due to the severity of his attacks. Unlike most of Van Gogh's works, Starry Night was painted from memory and not outdoors as was Vincent's preference. This may, in part, explain why the emotional impact of the work is so much more powerful than many of Van Gogh's other works from the same period. | Gustav Klimt
This year in an art class I took we did a project in the style of Gustav Klimt - lots of different shapes, patterns, metallics and colors - where I learned a bit about him. The more I learned and worked on my own painting, the more I came to appreciate and enjoy his work. He has an extremely unique style in which the clothing of the subjects flows seamlessly into the background so that it's hard to tell where one stops and the other begins (like so) , and while that aspect of the painting would be surreal, the faces, hair and ornaments of the figure would be extremely lifelike. This exquisite contrast makes his works so breathtaking. But besides being a fantastic painter, he was an extremely unorthodox one. Klimt lived from 1862 to 1918, when most works of art were Impressionist (like Monet) or Modern (like Warhol). There was much controversy over his paintings since they didn't fit with the others of the era, and he founded the Nouveau Art movement (aka the Secession) in Vienna, Austria.
Dame mit Fächer
I absolutely adore this painting. Sure, it's just a woman in a pretty kimono-esque dress with some birds and flowers in the background - but look at the beauty, the detail, the expression on her face! She looks so serene and knowing with the partly-closed eyes and small upward tilt of the mouth. I just am awestruck by how every aspect of this work - along with the rest of his - is paid as much attention to as the subject; no splatters in the background, nothing messy or out of place. It all makes me want to know what she's looking at, what she's thinking. Simply beautiful.

| I decided on Roger A. Disney. He's from Oklahoma but has traveled the world. I find him inspiring, because he has a nice mixture of modern and old time art in his work. He is a webiste designer, comic illustrator, and a painter....along with many other things. His canvas paintings are inspired from Expressionist and Impressionist movements, but also received influence from personal experience. I absolutely love love love this painting. The first time I saw it, I only saw a whole bunch of different colored strokes that made no sense at all. Then I just took a step back and realized that I have to look at the bigger picture. Also, I happen to love EVERYTHING about winter. Especially the snow, so this painting is absolutely beautiful to me. It brings me back to winters in my hometown and playing in the snow on at my grandmas forest. My siblings and I used to go out there every winter and build personal snow forts and then play hide and seek. This painting really reminded me of those days and spoke to me. http://rogerdisney.com/01/_indiv/002.php

| Hi..., My favorite painter is Thomas Sully, I love his paintings very much. He was born in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England, to the actors Matthew and Sarah Sully. He lived for June 19, 1783 - November 5, 1872, was a well-known American painter, mostly of portraits. In March 1792 the Sullys and their nine children immigrated to Richmond, Virginia, where Thomas’s uncle managed a theater. Here are some of his paintings that I collected form Google... I absolutely love these paintings. | |

| I adore the works of an artist most of you would know as William Shakespeare. However, if you study the logic, the stories, and the knowledge behind his work... and if you have ever heard this theory I am very proud!! But I believe William was a cover, for the poet Edward De Vere, who could not publish his work because he was a Earl. In his time era, an Earl would be frowned upon for being a playwrite. The ones who knew about his work detested him; aside from his wife who made him keep his talent a secret. I love the mystery behind the theory of his art, and appreciate the scheme he had, having William, take the credit. The story behind his work is one thing, but the plays and numerous poetry pieces are another! Edwards words flowed so beautifully, and flawless. You don't read the words he put on paper, you read his emotions he poured out into his pieces. My favorite "William Shakespeare" (Truly I believe to be Edward De Veres) piece is MacBeth. I love the torment, the pain and suffering, and the hurt. It's spectacular how well he captures the essence of his own depression into this ensemble. If you don't know the story behind MacBeth, I would really recommend renting the play, or reading it. Personally I don't even have to watch the performance because his words create the story in my mind. His work is timeless and beautiful. Truly the best poet of any era! [I did not use any websites so no work cited needed, however if you are interested in the story behind William Shakespeare being a fraud for Edward De Ver, watch the movie Anonymous. It captures the theory quite well. Hope this counts as an artist<3 ] | |
