Life is 42 and Duck the Duck VS Snapes_girl and SeverusSnape

*Snapes_girl walks slowly into the deuling arena. She looks back and smiles a devious looking smile at her partner Severus Snape. She turns her head back around and walks confidently to the center of the ring.*

*Snapes_girl rolls up her sleeves and takes her wand out of her robes and points it twards herself. "Protectus totallus!" She utters and a jet of soft green light shoots from her wand and wraps itself around her. She had been practicing this new sheilding charm and was confident she would be protected for most curses thrown her way.*

*Snapes_girl then pointed her wand at her opponent and shouted, "Shroudio oponnius" A large, white, thin cloth appeared and began to wrap itself quickly around her opponent. It was squeezing tighter and tighter as her opponent struggled to free themselves.*

::Lifey began to feel sophocated, but remembered to relax. She then used her wand to vanish the sheet.::

::She had seen snapes girl cast a protection charm over herself, and realized that jinxing the girl would do no good.::

::Lifey hid behind a pillar while she tried to come up with something. an idea struck!::

::Lifey whipped out her wand, and conjured a large unbreakable tank around snapes girl, and began to fill the tank with water and ice, rendering Snapes girl incapable of attacking Lifey.::

Mick ran into the duelling arena, cursing the computer network which had given him the wrong dates (sorry all!)

Taking a few long breaths, Mick surveyed the situation. He realised that he had entered unnoticed. Grinning, he pointed the wand at himself

"Silencioso paire" (Silent hover) he whispered before finding hiself hovering towards the ceiling unnoticed

"pele repercutindo" (rebounding skin) he whispered again, grinning as he felt the spell run through his veins. He knew how strong the rebounding spell was as he had practised continuously ready for the duel.

Turning back his head towards the ground, he silently pointed his wand at the tank surrounding his team mate.

"desapareça" (vanish) Mick whispered as the tank and water simply vanished from around her. Thinking quickly, Mick menouvered himself around the room and pointed his wand towards lifey

"controllo di mente" (mind control)

Mick grinned as the spell hit his oponant before whispering "Attack Amy" hoping that the mind control spell would allow him to control lifey to attack her own team mate

::Amy walked into the duelling arena, aware that she was several weeks late for the duel.::

"Sorry everyone," she said, "being the deputy head is a busy job!"

::She then took out her wand and prepared herself for the duel. Suddenly, she noticed Lifey beginning to approach her, wand outstretched, an evil grin on her face. Mick, on the opposing team was muttering under his breath.

That evil Slytherin was using mind control! Whispering the counter spell under her breath, Amy freed Lifey from the mind control spell, and then turned her attention to Mick, who seemed to be a dangerous opponant.

"Attaque des chiens!" She said, pointing her wand at the Slytherin Head of House. All of a sudden, a pack of angry dogs burst forth from her wand and surrounded him in a circle, snapping and snarling. That was Mick taken care of for the moment.

Amy then turned her attention to Nancy, who had been freed from her watery prison. She then quickly whispered "serpensortia cheveaux", which turned all of the hair's on Nancy's head into miniature snakes, which hissed and bit at the air.

This distracted the herbology professor for a moment, giving Amy time to cast her next spell.

"Purplus hippopotamus!" She shouted, and several large, purple hippos appeared in the room. They bumbled over to Nancy, surrounding her. Now, as you may not know, hippopotami are actually several times more dangerous than a rhinocerous. Especially when angry.

And so Amy shot sparks from her wand towards the hippo's, in turn angering them.

She smiled as they began to gallop towards Nancy. That Slytherin had better be good at running...

Nancy thanked Mick for setting her free from her water tank prison. And looked as Amy entered the dueling room. She had never dueled with Amy and wasn't sure what to expect from her. As Amy began her duel Nancy shrieked as she set the pack of dogs after Mick. She quickly pulled out her wand, pointed it at the dogs and yelled, "Gelo canis" (freezing) which sent a jet of icy blue light from her wand and attacked the dogs with a freezing curse. The dogs immediatly stopped moving twards Mick and became incased in ice.

Nancy then watched Amy with a nervous eye. She was certainly not wasting anytime throwing spells out! All of a sudden Amy had her wand pointed at her and Nancy saw a flash of light and had a strange feeling on the top of her head. She reached her hands up to feel her hair and gasped when she felt her beautiful hair was now snakes. She could hear them hissing and feel them moving on her head. She looked at Amy and spoke. "I may be a Slytherin and I may like snakes, but this, genious as it is, is not the look for me." She smiled a true Slytherin sneer and pointed her wand at her head and muttered "reddo capillus." (return hair) Nancy could feel a warm sensation on her head and the squirming and hissing stopped. She slowly reached her hand up to feel her hair and smiled as it felt like normal again. She was thankful there was not a mirror in the dueling arena because if she saw herself with snakey hair she may have fainted. Medusa was one of her favorite mythological creatures but she liked her for her power, not her hairstyle.

She then saw the hippos charging twards her and jumped back in terrorized shock. Amy was not making this easy for her. Her mind raced with an idea to stop the hippos and just when she thought it couldn't get any worse Amy shot sparks at the hippos and angered them even more than they already were. "Yikes!" Nancy shouted and ran backwards painfully trying to think of a spell that would work. She then thought of something. It may be a little strange but it just may work. She thrusted her wand forward and pointed it at the oncoming hippos and screamed, "TRIPUDIO MACARENA" (dance macarena)

The hippos stopped in their spots and stood on their back legs and began dancing the macarena! Nancy watched in amazement. They were actually pretty good! She laughed and then turned twards Lifey. "Hmmm, what shall I do?" Nancy asked herself outloud. "Have to get her back for that tank she put me in. She walked twards her friend and pointed her wand at her and muttered, "canto declamatio horrendus" (sing loud and horrible) and then finished up with "tergus orbis" (backflip)

Lifey felt a numbness fall over her body and she heard an evil voice commanding her to hex Amy. But Amy is my teammate. She reasoned in her head. But the voice was telling her that it was right. She raised her wand, a spell ready to be said when she felt the numbness leave her. She blinked and realized what she had nearly done.

"so sorry." She muttered to Amy. That could have been nasty. How evil! Turning her against her own teammate; cunning, yes, but evil. Lifey smirked as she saw the dogs and hippos aproaching her opponents and laughed when she saw what happened to Nancy's hair. Yes she was her friend, but this was a duel!

Her attention was distracted however when she saw Mick begin to cast a variety of jinxes and hexes at her, including jelly legs, a flock of attacking penguins, and worst of all a split ends hex that would cause every hair on her head to split. Lifey quickly conjured a large wall and dived behind it, shuddering as she felt the split ends jinx rush past her, just missing.


Not missing a beat, Lifey was quick to parry the attack. Rabidous Flamingos retaliatious reflexious ( a completely made up word that SOUNDS nice. I would like it to mean that Rabid Flamingos retaliate/attack and the reflexious part gives them good reflexes, meaning they are able to dodge things trying to stop them really well.) she hissed. A large flock of about 20 flamingos shot themselves straight for Mick, dodging his attempts to stop them, and pecking at him.

She had kept her attention off Nancy for too long though and she felt herself tense horribly, then relax into a state so...uncaring. She an indescribable urge to sing and so she did. Loudly, and very off key.

and before she could control herself the ultimate horror happend. Nancy added a dancing spell.

Lifey started struting around the room over exagerating her swaying hips.

and indeed she gritted her teeth as the spell forced her to shake her little tush.

Lifey waved her wand at her own throat and used the nonverbal silencing spell.

After taking a few moments behind her brick wall to repair her vocal cords (*glares at nancy* lol), she reapeared with a very angry (and embarased) war face.

"Oh thats it." She said quietly. "You're goin downnn."

First she shot a trip jinx, it missed, but it let out some of her upsettedness. Lifey paced a little, pondering her next move.

"aha!" She cried out after a split second of thinking. She waved her wand in a complicated sort of lasso movement that one would expect a cowboy to use in a ropeing competition when he was attempting to rope a rabid three headed cow.

Mimbletonia sproutious!!! Lifey hissed triumphantly, causing the little plants that Neville loved so much to sprout all over Mick and Nancy's faces while squirting their gooey smelly slim all over the two slytherins.


Lifey then saw that the dogs were frozen the hippos were dancing hte macarena. Oh dear. She cast a series of bluebell flames at the dogs, allowing them to thaw, and cast a complicated spell on the hippos that allowed them to continue dancing, but also conjured the music and caused their feet to swell. The spell also gave the hippos the instinct to stomp on the two slytherins.

Mick laughed as he watched life attempted to curse the room, realising his mind control had failed, yet it seemed to remind him of a past holiday quidditch game he watched. Luckily, he got on very well with dancing hippos and could tame them in one second, a side effect from being married to a hippo obsessed elf!

Speaking quietly, he told the hippos to attack life and amy, but not before pointing his wand at the hippos and muttering "Veneno del vampiro" (vampire venom). One bite of these hippos would now drain the blood of the victim.

Pulling himself together, Mick surveyed the situation. The dogs were beginning to unfreeze so he had to act quickly.

"Combustia" he said quietly as he pointed his wand towards the dogs and watched them burst into flames before vanishing completely.

Grinning, mick turned back towards the room, yet suddenly he began to have a weird feeling in his face. Conjuring a mirror, he noticed ugly boils begin to pulsate on his skin. Retching, mick quickly pulled his thoughts together and concentrated.

Suddenly there was a small pop and mick vanished, only to reappear a second later across the room. Looking back to where he had apparated from, mick grinned. He had splinched himself, yet only to the degree where he left the boils behind!

Taking a breath, Mick thought hard. He needed to attack and quickly.

"pensamientos del universo" (universe thoughts) mick muttered pointing his wand between hi two oponants before quickly uttereing "Disperso" (Disperse). A spell which would split into two attacking the two nearest people (life and amy) and allowing the thoughts of the whole universe inside their minds.

That should keep them busy

Yet one final spell before he relaxed

"huesos desaparecen" (bones vanish) he uttered twice, once at life and once at amy. He had really been watching that quidditch game! With the thoughts of the universe in their minds and their bodies as flat as a pancake, Mick had pleanty of time to think up his next move!

::Amy surveyed the duel, seeing the dogs combusting and Mick apparating his boils away. Nancy was dealing with the hippo's, and Amy was about to give her something else to deal with, when all of a sudden there was a terrible pain in her head and then hundreds of rushing whispering noises.

She clamped her hands to her ears, in an attempt to drown it out, and out of the corner of her eyes saw Lifey doing the same.

What was going on? What had Mick done to them? It sounded like there were hundreds of voices inside her head...

I wonder if he'll go out with me yet...?

Oh no, Mum is going to kill me!

If the square root of eight is sixty four then x must equal y...no...that's not right...

And then, one thought seemed to be heard louder than the others...and Amy recognised it as being in Mick's voice. Perhaps it was louder because he was in the room.

Good thing they don't know the counter curse, ostendo sum sententia (reverse thoughts)

Smiling wickedly, Amy tried to force the thousands of whispers from her head and succeeded enough to manage to cast the counter curse. She then cast it on Lifey, and they were free of all the whispered secrets.

Next, Amy had to think of a way to retaliate. Nancy was still busy with the hippos, so she concentrated on Mick.

Conjuring a giant net above him filled with gunge balloons, she let it drop onto his head, covering him in multicoloured gunge. This provided a distraction, and so Amy quickly summoned a teddy bear. She set it on the ground, and murmured a growth spell, until it towered at twice her own height.

Then, she muttered "Animatus!", and the teddy bear came to life, and began to walk towards Mick menancingly.

How would he react?

Nancy watched in amazement at all the spells that were being cast. She was happy that for now all she had to fix at the moment were the boils. She saw that Mick had apperated his boils off but she decided to attempt a different solution.

She could feel the stink sap oozing on her face and the smell was simply horrible. Reminded her of the day that she wittnessed a toilet explosion in the prefects bathroom during her short time as prefect before being promoted to herbology professor. She found it a little comical that Lifey would use and herbology plant spell to jinx her.

Nancy pointed her wand at her face and uttered "Abdo feculentia". (remove impurities) Nancy felt her face feel like it's old self again. "First my hair and then my face! And on my wedding day to!" Nancy said jokingly.

She then looked around the room and spotted Lifey. Her screachy singing was now stopped and she was no longer doing backflips. "Hmmm, what to do now." Nancy said in a devious tone. Her and Lifey had gotten closer the past few days and she hated to do anything to her but this was a duel and she was here to win. She pointed her wand twards her friend and muttered "Insectia swarmario."(Insect swarm)

"First my hair and then my face! And on my wedding day to!" Nancy said jokingly.

Lifey grinned back and stuck her tongue out. "it's the test of true love." She said with another grin.

She took a quick glance and saw that Amy seemed to have Mick under control. Good, that gave Lifey an opportunity to take care of Nancy, that way Lifey and Amy would have each other's backs covered in a way. If Nancy, for example, tried to jinx Amy, Lifey would be right there dueling Nancy to deflect the jinx away from Amy, and visa versa.

Nancy cast a swarm of insects at Lifey, who gave a rather girly shriek. She wasn't fond of bugs, but she had a cabin on a river and had delt with much worse.

As Nancy's Transfiguration Proffessor, Lifey was impressed with her conjuring skills, and decided to use that branch of magic, combined with some skills from Charms class, as well.

Fleuroiuis swatourious repelatious! (flowers, swatter, repellant) Lifey cried, conjuring a large flower bed on Nancy and Mick's side of the room, along with an extrememly large fly swatter and a gigantic can of bug repellent, the last two she had charmed to swat the insects and sprey them respectivly.

Now that she had the bugs out of her way, it was her turn to make a move. Carefully Lifey started to circle Nancy, Nancy never let her back face Lifey. They stared at each other before Lifey felt a jet of what felt suspiciously like goo barely miss her left shoulder. Without a seconds pause she flicked her wand in a small circular motion, much like a fencer would do with her foil when performing a disengage, and a torrent of parranah(sp) infested water poured from her wand with the force of water from a fire hose and hit Nancy.

"Sorry." She shrugged as she saw the fish snapping at Nancy. This was a little darker than Lifey's normal humourous style, but the humor wasn't completely lost. They were, after all, ,purple Paranahs.

::Amy watched as Lifey sent some piranha infested water at Nancy, and grinned as she saw they were purple piranhas.

Deciding to add to the barrage of spells being sent at the Herbology Professor, Amy thought quickly of what would be effective. If Lifey had sent piranhas, what could she do to complement that?

Deciding on a spell, she moved closer to Nancy, but not so close that she suffered from the attack too.

Might as well throw some sharks into the mix as well She thought, and muttered her spell.

"Partis tentatio!" (shark attack)

Several sharks of differing breeds shot from her wand and flolloped their way through a stream of water towards Nancy. There were hammerheads and great whites - all sorts!

They approached Nancy, and Amy wondered how she would find her way out of this one.
