Valentine's Dance

"Well, it does, and it doesn't."
He grinned back.
"If /that/ makes any sense."

Dani laughed, "Yeah it does," she looked out the window and up at the stars. "It's beautiful isn't it?"

He glanced back. "I guess so, if you call shimmering silver balls in a black sky pretty. Then yes, it is."He yawned, and closed his notebook."I think Vale fell asleep."He pointed over to him.

Dani smiled and looked over at Vale, "Then he won't notice I'm gone then."

~Fated held Sky in his arms and danced closely with her, enjoying the moment and the melody of the slow song that seemed to be playing just for them. In that moment, he was oblivious to those around him and also at the same time, he'd forgotten all about his mission, the dirty deeds that would lay ahead, and the reason he had been sent to the dance in the first place. It was a moment that he'd let himself be absorbed in.~

~That is, until he heard the music stop. As it did so, the softness that had appeared in his glistening blue eyes, faded away, and was replaced by that evil, sinister, intimidating gleam that he sported most of the time.~

~Their dance came to a subtle stop, and he pulled back a little as he looked at her. "There's work to be done." His tone had turned from being warm, to ice cold. Slowly turning around, he felt something. ~ His eyes fell upon jenn then on claire and no sooner had he seen them then he suddenly had a sneaky suspicion. He turned back to Sky.~ "What do you know of those two girls?" He asked sharply, as he nodded in their direction.~

"Did you give him to much alcohol?"He snickered to himself.

"No!" she said grinning, "I don;t think he'll ever touch the stuff again."

"No..I think that's the reason he had the accident. To drunk."
He shrugs.
"Ah well."

"yeah, nothing you can do about the past," She nodded. 'What about you? Having any fun?"

"Mhm."
He shook his head.
"Honestly, I don't know /why/ I come to these stupid things."

"There has to be a reason," she urged him,[i] 'if he didn't keep his feelings to himself[/i'], she thought

He shrugged. "Nope, nothing comes to mind."He stands up. "I think I'll go to bed..Or study, one of the two."

Dani looked disappointed, "Oh...um...okay." her voice sounded hurt

He turned around, to face her again. "You don't want that, do you?"

Sky continued to dance with Fated. Being in his arms felt so good, so right. But the music stopped and Fated pulled away from her and spoke in his regular icy tone. "There's work to be done." She heard him say and that's when the reality of why they were there in the first place set in. They had orders from the Dark Lord and they must obey him.

Sky noticed Fated turn his head around and was looking towards the direction of the girl from the train and her friend. These two girls had both sent a odd feeling towards Sky. Something with them just didn't seem right.

Fated then looked back towards Sky and spoke to her again. "What do you know of those two girls?" Sky studied them for a moment and turned back to Fated. "Not much really. The girl there..." Sky nodded her head towards Jenn. "She was on the train to Hogwarts this school year. She tripped and fell into my compartment. I told her to come and sit and she did. We really didn't talk much but I got the feeling with her then that something just wasn't right about her." Sky turned her head to look at the other girl Fated was referring to. "Her, I have never met but she does talk quite a bit with the other girl. I just left here not too long ago and neither of them I recognized from the previous year, that to me is a bit odd." Sky turned her nose up at the two and looked into Fated's eyes. "They seem to be looking at us a bit, I have noticed it on a few occasions tonight and I do not think that one bumped into me by mistake. I may be wrong but it just doesn't sit well with me."

"I am up for it if you think we should approach them. I will follow your lead." Sky's eyes lit up with excitement, an evil expression formed on her face. She did love to stir things up a bit and if these two were order members, herself and Fated would make them know who they were indeed dealing with.

"No," Dani said softly looking at him

He grinned. "Alright, I'll stay then." He walked back and whispered in her ear. "Fated and Sky are here to, we'll want to keep watch on them."

Dani nodded smiling, "Okay,"

He sat back down, watching Sky and Fated but still paying attention to Dani.
"They're horrible.."

~As Sky explained the first girl to him, Fated simply nodded but when she'd pointed out the second girl, he once again, got that strong, suspicious feeling.~

"There's something familiar about her..." He muttered. Then he looked back to Sky. "You say that you don't recognize them from the previous year huh?" His eyes narrowed. "I have noticed them watching us out of the corner of my eye and I don't believe the one that bumped into you was on accident." Then he smirked. "But you know what they say? Keep your friends close...but keep your enemies closer." ~Fated was no fool- not by any means and his manipulative charm and evil mind were not of a simple nature. Calmly, he looked to Sky. "Would you mind if I had a dance with that one?" He gestured at Claire, a sly smile crossing his features that had now darkened.~

Zexion now talking to Dani, so Ebony decided to walk over to the table with all the treats.

She saw some choclate frogs and took a few.

'Choclate, a girls best friend. Why am I here, would it realy be that boring at my dorm. I mean there I could possibly read a book, listen to some music, or do some school work. At least then I wouldn't be bored, alone, and depressed. Why ever did mom make me transfer here? At least at Beauxbatons I had a friend.'

Ebony sighed and ate a choclate frog.

Sara lost Jenn or, as she was known at Hogwarts, Hallie, in the crowd and was peering over people's heads, they were always taller than her, trying to see her.

"Where are you where are you" She muttered, getting nudged to the side by a burly, unfriendly looking slytherin who looked terrably out of place amongst the pink decorations.

"I'm just going to have a look around."
He stood up and walked over to Ebony.
"Sorry about abandoning you."
He tried to force a smile.

A small smile crept onto Kylee’s lips as she entered the room. She never was a big fan of Valentine’s Day, but she, along with Sky and Fated, had been sent there on the Dark Lords orders. That alone was enough to fill Kylee with excitement. She was wearing a short blood red dress, small black heels, and her hair set in soft curls. She walked in further and looked around for someone she knew. After a moment of searching she saw Sky and Fated in heavy conversation, and sneaking looks at two girls across the room. Wondering what they were up to, she approached them.

“Hello, Hello.” She said, nodding to both Sky and Fated. “So, what’s happening on this pleasantly dark night?” She asked smirking, waiting for the fun to begin.

"I'm going to go chat with the rest of.."He gave her a nod, hoping she'd understand. He began to suspect that the deatheaters were growing suspicious..They were aware he was part of the DA. He only hoped they still thought he was on there side.
"Hello, Fated, Sky.."He looked at Kylee and frowned."Kylee, right?" He lowered his voice. "Did you show up under orders?"

"Sorry about abandoning you."Zexion spoke and tried to force a smile

"It's alright."

"I'm going to go chat with the rest of.."He gave her a nod.

Ebony nodded in understandment and ate another choclate frog.

Sky listened to Fated and nodded when he also thought the girl had not bumped into her on accident. "You say that you don't recognize them from the previous year huh?" She heard him ask her. "No, they were definitely not here last year." She told him with certainty. Sky knew almost everyone at Hogwarts and she knew neither one of them were there last year.

Sky laughed in a sinister way after Fated had mentioned keeping their enemies closer. "How right you are." She said to him, a devious look in her eyes. He was feeling the same feelings about these two girls as she was, so with the both of them suspecting the same thing most likely they were correct.

"Would you mind if I had a dance with that one?" Sky heard Fated ask. She looked at him and saw that expression had darkened. She loved that look he gave. He was evil, pure evil and she loved that about him. Always thinking, always plotting something sinister. "Well, I suppose you must do what you feel is necessary." Sky said in a teasing voice. "Just don't let her sickening sweetness drive you into madness." She laughed in her sinister tone and leaned into his lips and kissed him gently. She pulled back and looked into his blue eyes. "I will stay close and look for any sign from you."

Sky turned her head and she saw someone approach her and Fated. "Kylee!" Sky spoke in a welcoming tone. "You always know just the right moments to arrive. So many things to tell you but we have to be careful." Sky leaned in very close to Kylee. "Those two over there..." Sky snapped her head towards Claire and Jenn. "Something about them is just not adding up. Keep close to me and watch them closely for any signs."

Sky then spotted Zexion and she looked at him a moment studying him. "Hello." She said to him in an unenthused tone. "What plans we have or do not have are not up for discussion with you I am afraid."

He scowled at her. "Ooh, aren't you nice." His voice remained low, so only their group could hear. "Sky, I'm only 'with' the DA to get information from them. But, of course, you're going to think that I'm only saying that to get away with it because it's the exact same thing I say to the DA."He huffed out a breath to continue. "I assure you, that I'm on the.."He pauses, nodding, as if that was his way of saying the "Deatheaters""..side, alright?"His expression remains angry and annoyed."The darklord /told/ me to go on the DA's side to get information. If you don't believe me, you can ask him yourself." He glanced at Fated.

Dani saw Zexion walking over to Sky and Fated and figured it was better than acting suspicios with her, she sat still next to the window, looking up at the stars. and humming along to the song that was playing

~As Fated turned to see Zexion, he smirked~ "Well well, haven't seen you in a while. Still playing the boy toy for the dark lord's daughter or has he actually given you a real assignment?" He asked. Then his gaze shifted to Kylee and he nodded. "Well, you showed up. About time. You're like a half hour late and I hope you got my owl on the 'you know what' plan" His voice lowered.~

~Then he allowed his eyes to fall back onto the beautiful woman in front of him.~ "No need to worry about me going soft on her" He nodded towards Claire. "I think I will wait just a bit before I ask her to dance. I need to observe her a little more so that I can use my charm on her and find her weakness." He flashed Sky a sly grin and then pulled her a little closer and his features softened a bit as did the tone of his voice~ "Besides, having one more dance won't hurt, will it?" He winked as his arms slid around her waist.~

He scowls at that. "Protecting the Dark Lords daughter, /is/ a mission. But yes, I've been assigned to collecting information from the DA."He glances to where they're investigating. "Trying to get information on those girls? I don't know much about that one." He nods to Jenn. "But the other one, her name is apparently "Rose" and she is apparently on the DA's side. Told me to let her know if the DA needed anymore members. She also comes from Beauxbaton's, but that's about all I know."

He tried to hide a look of disgust at him and Sky dancing.

Sky stood there and watched the exchanges between Zexion and Fated with a smirk on her face. She did not trust Zexion ans would not until he proved himself worthy in her eyes. She spoke to Zexion in an even tone. "So, you have met the other girl, and she's interested on the DA you say?" Sky turned her head to look at the girl and stared at her for a moment and then faced Zexion again. "Keep an eye on her, talk to her more and try and figure her out. Something is just not right with that one. Keep your gaurd up, she is not to be trusted."

Sky then nodded to Zexion and focused back on the man before her. Fated. The one she chose. The one who made her feel like no one else had ever made her feel before. "No need to worry about me going soft on her" She heard him say. She looked into his eyes. "I have no worries about that. She's not sinister enough to make you feel the way that you know I can." Sky's playful smile returned to Sky's lips and as Fated pulled her a little closer she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and moved into him as close as she could. "Another dance with you?" She asked him in a playful tone. "I would love nothing more." She looked deeply into his blue eyes and the two of them began to dance to the slow song that was playing.

Lily noticed that Rose was alone, so she headed over to her.

"Hello," she said

~Fated relaxed as he danced with Sky, and closed his eyes as he held her close through the song. He liked the attention that she gave him and though he knew that he had to follow orders and such, he trusted Sky to be there with him. The though of what their future together could be like, flashed in his mind. But unfortunately, his Death Eater senses kicked in, causing his eyes to rapidly open as he got a strange feeling.~

He stopped dancing and pulled away from Sky just enough to see those around him. ~Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that Rose was now left alone with the exception of Lily who was near her. Perfect! he thought as a cruel, evil smile crossed his lips. He turned to Sky. "I think it's unwise for me to deny the perfect moment to move in on her, don't you?" ~He asked as his blue eyes flickered maliciously.~ "While I am busy with her, you found out about that other one." He sneered as he completely let go of her.~

~He then slowly turned on his heel, and walked over to Rose ~

~He brushed his blond bangs that had fallen into his eyes, back and then smiled slightly as he approached her.~ "How are you doing this fine evening?" He asked in the most friendly manner that he could.~

Jenn waltzed into the Great Hall, still on the arm of the random guy. She glanced up and ducked her head a bit so he wouldn’t spot her smile. After bumping into Sky for a moment, he had swept her off her feet to the back gardens. Jenn ran her fingers around her arms and shivered beneath his jacket random guy had kindly lent her. Although in her opinion, this room was quite colder then the ouside. (*winks to Elana*) Sneaking a look at her dance partner, she supposed it was for more reasons then one.

Laughing as she was suddenly twirled and dipped, Jenn flipped her brown curls over her shoulder. Suddenly her eyes caught onto Sky standing with another girl she has not met before. A feeling of dread ran through her, causing her to nearly trip over her own feet. Laying her head on random guy’s shoulder, Jenn scanned the ballroom and spotted Sara. She gave her friend a slight shake of her head so Sara would know that the plan they talk about earlier wasn’t ready yet. As she continued searching the room, her heart jumped to her throat as she spotted Fated talking to Claire. Knowing that Claire would never go straight to the people so closely tied with He Who Must Not Be Named so quickly, Jenn knew that this could only mean on thing. Fated had approached her first. Warning bells rang in her head at what this could mean.

Tossing her head back, Jenn gave random guy a dazzling smile and fanned herself slightly. “Why don’t we get something to drink?” She suggested. “I’m feeling slightly flushed.”

Random Guy looked down at her and smiled back as they headed toward the refreshment table. “Sure, but aren’t you cold?” He asked as he slightly ran his fingers down her arm. “You have goosebumps here.”

Thinking quickly, Jenn ducked her head slightly and smiled shyly. “Those goosebumps have nothing to do with the weather but rather the cause of having someone near me.” Judging by the hand tightening on her arm, she supposed that he bought her excuse. As they drew closer the refreshment table, Jenn’s heels hurried along with a sense of urgency. Sipping her butterbeer slowly, she lingered nearby in case Fated, and she didn’t but it pass him, made any sudden movements.

Sky closed her eyes as her and Fated danced so closely together. The feeling she felt wrapped in his strong embrace was the best feeling she had yet experienced. But the moment suddenly changed as Fated stopped dancing suddenly. She watched his expression and his body language and she knew he was sensing something. They had gotten caught up in their moment of closeness when there was work to be done.

Sky stood quietly and listened to Fated as he spoke. "I think it's unwise for me to deny the perfect moment to move in on her, don't you?" Sky nodded to him. "Yes, now will be most perfect." She whispered and a smirk appeared on her red lips. This was Fated at his best. The planner. His evil mind was always thinking up clever plans to accomplish things. This way of thinking was one of the reasons why he was one of the Dark Lord's most trusted.

"While I am busy with her, you find out about that other one." She heard him say, his voice dark and sinister. "You know I am up for it." She smiled at him and he pulled away from her and headed towards Rose.

Sky watched Fated for a moment as he approached the girl and she turned her head. She spotted the girl who had bumped into her earlier and her eyes lit up with a malicius twinkle. "Well, I couldn't ask for any better than this." She whispered. She turned towards Kylee and spoke quietly to her. "Watch my back." She said and turned her attention back to the girl who was now with her date getting drinks. All to convienent. Sky thought to herself. She wanted to get closer to Rose. It was nothing short of obvious.

Sky plastered on a fake smile and approached the girl she had met earlier that year. She grabbed a glass of punch from the table and looked over at the girl. "Lovely dance isn't it?" Sky asked her. She shifted her eyes around the room. "The decorations are lovely, don't you think? The prefects did a remarkable job with them. And sorry, I know I met you earlier in the year when we were on the train. What did you say your name was? So many students here and so many names to remember."

She was trying to engage in normal conversation, trying to read into the girl and study her body language.

“Well, you showed up. About time. You're like a half hour late and I hope you got my owl on the 'you know what' plan" Kylee nodded, then responded in an hushed tone, “Yes, I got the owl. And I’m here aren’t I? What does it matter what time I arrive?” She then leaded over to Sky and whispered “I simply could not get my hair to curl right.” With a small smile tugging on her lips.

Kylee smiled inwardly as she watched Fated and Sky dance. They were so in love, it was obvious to anyone. She hoped that one day she could find someone like that. Someone to just hold her close, someone who could send shivers down her spine with just one whisper. When she saw Fated stiffen up, and then walk towards Rose, she knew the fun had begun. "Watch my back." Kylee nodded and let Sky walk a few paces ahead of her, before setting out towards a table off to the side, not to far off from Sky and the other girl.

Looking around the room, Kylee noticed a girl trying to make her way through the floor. She wasn’t sure, but something about this girl just screamed Order. After a moment of thought, and a nod to Sky, she approached the girl. She seemed like she was looking for something, or someone. Kylee saw a her get bumped into, and took this as the right time to walk up to the girl. Placing a friendly hand on her shoulder, Kylee said “Need some help?” in the friendliest voice she could muster. It was a tight squeeze through the crowd, so she gently pulled the girl out of the mess. “I’m Kylee.” She said, with a forced smile.

~Fated's eyes swept over Claire, his senses on high alert as he could feel something strong. However, his expression never faltered and he held out his hand. "Would you like to dance? I've noticed that you haven't really done any dancing since you've been here." ~He spoke warmly and gently as his blue eyes twinkled. "And you've not been approached by any other guys, which is something that isn't right. Such a lovely young lady as yourself doesn't need to spend all night alone." He stepped closer to her locking his eyes with hers as he looked down at her.~

"What do you say,shall we have a dance?" He asked now so close to her that their bodies were almost touching.~

~He smiled as she accepted his offer of having a dance. As she placed her hand into his, he took it and led her out to the dance floor. He turned to her, his eyes sweeping over her a moment then once more he began looking into her eyes. He placed one hand onto her waist and drew her close to him. His other hand lifted and enterwined with her fingers that felt slightly damp. Perhaps she was nervous. He smirked inwardly yet did not let his features harden for he wasn't going to make himself seem suspicious.~

"Professor Black is quite a good dancer, though it is hard to compare her to your radiance. She's a professor after all and a close friend." ~He began to dance slowly with her for it was just their luck that a slow song would come on. However, he remained calm and well composed for he found there was a better advantage to slow dancing with her. ~ "The girls have a right to be jealous." He replied gently. "After all, none of them possess the natural glow of an angel, like you." He added as he looked deeply into her eyes.~

~He spun her around slowly, taking the moment to glance at Sky and how she was doing and then quickly turned his attention back to the girl that was now back in his grasp.~ "So, I don't believe I caught your name, my elegant flower."

::Mila walked into the hall, careful not to draw attention to herself. She hated that. Her blue eyes swept over the gorgeous decorations - she had to give the people who did this props. It was fabulous! She walked a little further and noticed a few people that she recognized, but they were already engaged in conversation or dancing in the center of the room::

::She combed a hand through her chesnut colored hair and made her way to a table. Her dress was held up by two thick straps on her shoulders and was a deep burgandy color that contrasted against her fair skin brilliantly. She wasn't used to such vibrant dresses, but her friends talked her into it - saying she looked 'lovely'.::

::As Mila sat at her table, she wished she hadn't come. Valentine's Day never really appealed to her and at the moment she felt likt a clud, just sitting and staring. She let a sigh escaped her lips, as she jiggled her foot in beat to the music and closed her eyes imagining someone whisking her away to the dance floor. It was something to do, wasn't it?. Her eyes still closed, she continued playing out her night, the way she wished it would happen::

Ebony saw Mila walk in and sit at a table. Ebony grabbed a few more choclate frogs and went over to Mila's table.

"Hi I'm Ebony," she greeted.

'Might as well talk to someone. Not like I have anything else to do.'

::Mila opened one eye to see who had come over. It was a girl and she had a handful of choclate frogs. It made her stomach grumble in protest. She opened bothe eyes and smiled.::

"Hell Ebony." she greeted polietly, "I'm Mila Sanders. You liking the dance so far?"

"Nice to meet you Mila," Ebony smiled, "The dance is alright, not my kind of thing though. How bout you?"

Before Mila answered Ebony asked another quick question, "Mind if I sit down?"

"Oh no, of course not!" Mila said with a grin. She picked at the center piece. "I like dances,, but I'm not to much into Valentine's Day, though. Not my favoritest of Holidays..."

Lily walked over to ebony and mila . "Hello," she said cooly

Ebony sat down at the table and spokr to Mila, "Yeah it's not my favorite holiday either."

Ebony looked over to Lily, "Hello."

::Mila regarded Lily slightly, but put on a smile all the same.::

"Hi," she responded back, tonelessly.
