Valentine's Dance

"Because I always come. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I secretly hate being alone, there are other reasons. But, I'm not about you to tell you what."

'Maybe if I get her to like me, Dani will be jealous.' he shook his head to himself. 'Nasty thoughts, she's your FRIEND, remember?'

He sighed, and drummed his fingers on the table.

Ebony could tell Zexion was secretive, but she didnt mind. Everyone was entitled to their secrets. Ebony looked around, seeing all the lovey-dovey decerations.

"This holiday is too happy..."Ebony muttered drifting off almost to a whisper.

'Even holidays are happier than me.'

Ebony watched the couples dance merrily on the dance floor with happiness and love about them. Ebony wished she could be like them, just happy and careless, immune to her surroundings as she had fun, but that just didn't seem like the life that was meant for her.

"I need another drink."she muumbled and went to go get another drink.

"To happy?" He snorted. "I didn't know a holiday could be to happy. I couldn't agree with you more though."He smiles and stands up with her. "Mind if I come with you?"

"I don't mind," Ebony shrugged.

She went over to a table with all the treats and drinks.

"Want one?" she asked as grabbed herself a butterbeer.

He nodded, standing up with her.

"Want one?" Ebony asked.

He laughed, a real one, remember his last incident with alcohol. Quite a disaster.

"Nah,"He smiled, his eyes shimmering at her. "I'll stick to the non-alcoholic stuff."He replied, taking a glass of punch.

Ebony smiled back, "Suit yourself."

She then took a swig of her drink.

"So..."Ebony started to speak relizing she couldn't think of anything to talk about.

"Wow I think for onceI have acctually ran out of discussion ideas." she laughed.

"Couldn't agree more.."
He took a glance at his nails then looked back up.
"These things are always so boring..I really should stop coming."

Ebony nodded, "This is boring."

Ebony sighed," But as much as it is boring, I would probley be more bored if I hadn't come here."

"Mhm, Maybe."
He yawned.
"Then again, when is anything interesting in my life?"
He gazed at her, black eyes focusing themselves.
"You're..kinda reminding me of..Myself."

Ebony smiled and looked at him."I guess I'll take that as a compliment, since you seem like a cool person."


Ebony relized this might be the closet she has ever had to a friend. This kind of cheered her up. Maybe the dance wasn't all that bad, at least she wasn't by herself.

He grinned.
"I'd usually be offended by something like that, you're an exception though."
He grabbed his drink and walked over to the TV.
"I despise the music they play though."
He sighed, closing his eyes trying to focus on some other sound.

Ebony nodded, "Yeah, they dont have a great selection of music."

Ebony took a sip of her drink, " What kind of music do you lik?"

He peered at her from the side of his eyes.
"Try and guess. By my personality."
He smiled.
"Goth rock, I hate Emo, Rock is already, metal, death metal and alternative."
He placed his punch down on the table and turned to face her.
"What about you?"

Ebony smiled, " I like goth rock also, also neo goth, hmm, and well most heavy metal. Stuff like that."

Ebony saw Claire wave and she returned with a slight smile and polite wave.

"Yeah?"
'She is beginning to bore me..Ehh..What to do..'
He glanced up at Claire and gave a very, very vague wave.
"Hello.."He looks her over, quirking an eyebrow."..And what did you say your name was?"

Ebony walked over to the dj stand since Zexion was now talking Claire.

"Can you change the song to something like Metallica?" Ebony asked the DJ.

"Metallica isn't very Valentine's Dance material." the DJ answered.

"Please, just one song. Anything better than the music playing right now." She begged.

"How about a group song?" He asked.

"Just no line dancing, or cha cha slide. How about the Time Warp?" she asked smiling.


"I can play that."He said putting on the song.

Then a thought dawned on her. 'I don't think anyone knows this song, crud. I shall make a fool of myself I quess. On to the time warp.'

The song started.

"It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I've got to keep control.."

"This song is terrible,"He grimaced, covering his ears. "Rose, that's fairly uncommon." He was determined to get something out of her. He knew she was from Beauxbatons..but, everyone always has more of a backstory then that. "..And, what's your alliance, Rose?" He asked, a friendly smile now forming on his face."Just out of interest of course, I'm with the DA."

Lily sighed. This dance was dead. She decided to listen to Zexion and Rose's conversation for a while

Cassidy laughed at the sight of Jade's ears. "You know, they do look funny on you! You could start a new trend!" She giggled, then said "Anyway, it's hard to top the bunnies, ha? Oh well... it will be hard for me too, but I'll do my last poke now and stop... " She laughed again. "Here goes - wish me luck!", she said winking and left.

When she reached the middle of the room, she stopped and looked around, hoping that inspiration would strike her somehow, because she had a hard time imagining something better than hundreds of people in pink fluffy bunny outfits. Then she spotted a line of people waiting for fresh elf-made pie and did the simplest thing on earth. She joined them and when she almost got to the pie, she poked somebody close to her.
The guy turned around to look who had poked him. "Was it you?", he asked her. But Cassidy couldn't answer, because her mouth was stuffed just strawberry pie yummyness. She smiled in an "I-don't-know-what-you're-talking-about" way and hurried off towards Jade, grinning and holding out a piece of pie for her - "Here, thought you might like it!."

"PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Jade said excitedly and took the piece gladly. "Fhank you, and fhat fas--" Jade muffled with her mouth full of pie. "--fun!" she finished after swallowing. "We should poke more often."

Cassidy grinned, eating up her last piece of pie. "i agree, it was indeed fun. And I also think it's quite good we stopped here - before they started killing us for poking them!" She laughed. "But we'll do it again some other time! - oh wait a sec!"

She dashed off towards the DJ - and a few seconds, the sounds of "Menaito" - an old but popular dance - were filling the hall. "Let's dance, shall we?", she asked Jade and instead of waiting for an answer just dragged her towards the dancefloor.

He glanced up at Jade and Cassidy.
"My god, what a bunch of annoying girls..If they come over here and try to poke /me/.." He scowled, having mental thoughts.

He shrugged. "Couldn't they at least find /one/ song everyone likes?" He grimaced to himself. "Mind you, if Ebony and I are here, that's probably nearly impossible."

He glanced back up at her,"So..your neutral then? But leaning towards the DA. Well, I'll tell Dani if we're ever in need of another member. She's the leader, after Harry."A frown formed on his face at the mention of Harry, 'Stupid little boy..thinks he can just keep avoiding the 'accidents.' He'll be dead one day..Whether it's because of me, or not. I'll make /sure/ it happens. Damn attention [censored]

The song finally finished and the relization of her doing what she just did hit her.

'Oh, my did I just go and dance...I have had wayy to much o drink. I am cutting down to punch.

Ebony hurried to sit down next to zexion and Claire before she got anymore embarressed.

She looked to them and spoke, "Make sure I dont have anymore drinks tonight."

"Will do, Ebony."

Zexion rolled his eyes.

"Oo, How embarrassing, asking the DJ to change the song."

He stood up with her anyways, and followed her to the DJ.

"I couldn't agree with you more about the cheesy love songs, though."

His voice still sounded slightly cold to her, 'If she's telling the truth, and really is leaning towards the DA, I'll have to be careful..I'm on Voldemorts side..but I'm trying to destroy him, so that's why I joined the DA..I could just tell her my alignment if she gets suspicious.'

"I'll spare the audience and put on something lighter..How about, "Swing Life Away" by "Rise Against"?"

He sighed, didn't really matter if the DJ played it or not.

Ebony chuckled as she grabbed the punch. Rose seemed like a pretty decent person.

"I don't think I will be having alchohol anytime soon."

Ebony took a sip of the punch and asked, "So what song you guys request?"

"I know that band, they are awsome." spoke Ebony. she the n took another sip of her punch.

"Swing Life Away,"He clarified."I could have put something harder on but.."He shrugs, as if that was ending the sentence.
He stands up and wanders to the garbage, throwing the remainder of his punch out, then walks back to the table.
"Don't much care for this stuff.."

"Swing Life Away thats a good song." Ebony spoke.

She looked over to Zexion, "Is there any achohol-free bevreage, besides punch, around here?

He eyed the Butterbeer as if it was something foreign and disgusting.

"Er..thanks, Rose."

He picked it up and grimaced, before taking a sip.

"I guess it's alright.."

He tilted the mug, eying it.

Ebony chuckled, "Something wrong with the drink Zexion?"

Dani was dancing but her eyes were wandering, for some reason she feel that comfortable with Vale anymore. But she decided that it was just because she hadn't seen him in forever, she sighed, and dropped his hand.

"We should go get some punch," She suggested

He looks up at them both, realizing that they were still there.

"Uh..Well, I guess the idea of "Butter" and "Beer" just doesn't appeal to me."

He goes off and dumps it. He glances back at the table and decides that they weren't about to do anything interesting so he wandered to a window and pulled out a note book.

Dani noticed Vale wasn't really paying attention to her, but she lead him to the table anyway not in the mood to eat. She waitted for Rose to start talking to Vale before ditching.

She wandered over to Zexion and sat down across from him, "Hey," she said

He glanced over at her.
"Mhm..Hello. Having fun?"
He turned around, to fully face her.
"This party is boring, huh?"

"Yeah it is," Dani agreed. "I guess I haven't been having that much fun, but it's a dance right?"

He raised an eyebrow at her.

"You're point being?"

"I guess I just mean you're suppose to have fun," Dani said playing with her necklace that bore the Rose from her pack.

"Oh."He shrugged."All depends on your personality"He yawned."My group was boring me. You and Vale get tired of dancing?"

"Actually, Vale's been really quiet. It's more so ackward to be with him again." She said

"You /are/ glad though, aren't you?" He almost did an annoyed laugh. "It's all you've been complaining about since he left."

"I know, I should be happy, but I'm even more depressed now....if that makes sense." she said
