| We've all heard never say McBeth to someone in the play, and saying break a leg means good luck, but is there any superstitions you have before appearing in a play? | |

| I don't know if this is true but if you kiss your script on the upper left hand corner it is supposed to bring you good luck. | |

| At my school, we always say Lood Guck to each other all the day of the show. And, for a school of only 600 kids, 90 in the plays (including set, pit orchestra, and the elementry kids we recruit when we dont have enough to do anything) we put oon pretty good shows. iDK if it really works, or if we ae just that good :] | |

| Wow. It's a testimony to my sleepiness that I didn't notice it said Lood Guck. Anyway, I usually pace back and forth muttering encouragements and things I need to remember to myself. Although that's not so much a superstition as a calming device. Opening night I usually eat skittles have a bottle of water before going on. Again that's not just a superstition. Skittles keep my sugar up and my stomach problems away. The water doesn't make me burp on stage. I still can't stand to perform without my preshow "meal". | |

| we NEVER say good luck before a play. especially on opening night. its always 'break a leg' or 'break a leg, you'll be amazing'.
we have certain rituals and warm ups we go through, physical and vocal before we go on stage. | |

| Well, nobody ever tells me to break a leg because with my luck it would literally happen. We always play this game where we basically stand in a circle and cross our arms and hold two different people's hand from across the circle and then try to untangle ourselves. Also, we brush our teeth 3 times before every show and make sure that all of the back room closet doors are open. ANDDDD the last one: We have couches in the backroom and changing rooms and we have to jump off of them before we go on stage the first time for the night. It's weird, but it helps us feel better about doing the show. | |
