| Streams carefully eased the door open and slid inside the room, her flat shoes silent on the stone floor. She grinned when she realized that nobody was in the room yet. Being first gave her an advantage over her opponent, and she was going to take it.
First streams shielded herself by casting the "Proteja-me" spell. (Protect me=Russian). This shield only deflected minor spells, but it lasted a long time.
Streams noticed that there were several stone columns scattered throughout the room. She decided to take advantage of these and muttered "Viti tossiche" (Poisonous vines=Italian). Simple green vines with pretty purple flowers erupted out of her wand and wrapped themselves around the columns. They looked beautiful, but the flowers shot out poisonous darts with deadly accuracy if the vines were touched.
Next streams decided to make the room as uncomfortable as possible for her opponent, so she called out "Einfrierender Wind" (Freezing wind=German) and a bitterly cold wind blasted through the room.
Streams shivered uncontrollably, and mentally cursing herself for being an idiot, she cast a warming spell on herself by shouting through chattering teeth, "Burbuja caliente." (warm bubble=Spanish). Now the immediate area around her was toasty warm, but the rest of the room was unbearably cold.
Sighing contentedly, streams decided to extinguish the lights and she called out, "Escuridão da noite!" (Darkness of night=Portugese).
Then she tapped her foot and paced up and down the room, careful not to go near the poisonous vines as she waited for her opponent to enter. | |

| ::Before entering the dueling arena (late, as usual (sorry streamers!)) Elana decided to stop at the doors and put a few protective spells on herself so she wouldn't be unprepared for what lay in wait inside. She took out her wand and said, "Beschermende beschutting (protective shield)."
::Then, to assist her even more, she said, "Verhevigen mijn besefen (sharpen my senses)."
::She had used a similar spell in a previous duel and hadn't been able to use it to its full extent, which had been unfortunate. But perhaps now it would be more useful. To check and see if it had worked, she leaned forward and pressed an ear against the thick wood of the door to the arena. She could hear footsteps going around the room and something sounding like wind rustling through plants. Well, this should do it for now. Can't really do anything else since I don't know what she has in store for me. A small smile played upon her rose colored lips as she put her hands to the door, pads of her fingers feeling the individual grains of the wood beneath them, and pushed it open.::
::Elana was suddenly hit with a harsh wind that pulled at her hair, whipping it at her face. Elana grimaced and pulled a hair tie from her wrist and quickly got her hair back into a messy bun to keep it out of the way. She was shivering terribly, making this simple act difficult. Gotta get rid of this wind or alter it, she thought.::
"Hartelijke wind (warm breeze)," she said, and the bitter wind was immediately transformed into a pleasant warm breeze that tickled her skin. There, that's much better. That out of the way, she locked eyes with her opponent, Streams, and gave her a sweet smile.::
"Hello there, dear," she said cheerfully. "Quite pretty flowers you've put up here."
::She stretched her wand hand out towards the nearest one to her, still keeping her eyes on Streams. Obviously they weren't what they seemed, and it was always fun to turn people's works against them. So she smirked, whipped her wand away from the flowers and shot a spell at a column by Streams.::
"Verbrokkelen (crumble)! Komen naar het leven (come to life)!"
::The stone column fell to the ground and the flowered vines sprang up and slithered snake like to Streamers and wrapped themselves around her ankles and crept up her legs. Elana sped up their movement ("versneld (faster)") and so they were soon up to her neck. With one more spell ("Draaien naar de touw (turn to rope)") she made the vines into thick, coarse rope and Streams, unable to keep balanced, toppled over.::
"Oh my," said Elana, peering into into Stream's face, "you don't look so good. Could those flowers have been poisonous? Well, it was a good thing I didn't touch 'em..."

| (lol good to have you here! now this can finally get interesting XD)
streams groaned inwardly at her stupidity. She should have put up a shield to protect her entire body from the vines. Now it was too late. the vines' powers had been altered when elana enchanted them into ropes, so they weren't deadly. But they were still poisonous and streams was in terrible pain. her limbs ached and her head felt like it would explode. black stars danced before her eyes, and she felt like just giving up and sliding into unconsciousness. But that would mean elana had won.
shaking her head in a useless effort to rid herself of her horrible headache, streams realized that elana was bent over her, taunting her. Bad move. It never paid to lose control of one's emotions during a duel. elana's guard was down, and streams smiled even as her head pounded and one rope twirled lazily around her neck, trying to choke her.
gathering her strength, streams clutched her wand and slid it towards elana's legs. She whispered hoarsely "Tropece-a" (trip her) and elana tumbled over backwards, her wand falling out of her hand and rolling across the floor. She quickly followed this up with "Cegue-a" (blind her) and elana was temporarily struck blind. As elana was occupied searching blindly for her wand, her hands groping on the floor, streams sat up and muttered, "Desate as cordas!" (untie the ropes). But nothing happened. streams' energy was low and she panicked when she felt two more tendrils of rope twirl around her neck and begin to tighten.
With the last of her strength, she shouted "Desate as cordas!" and the ropes untwirled quickly, cutting her legs and arms as they did so. streams moaned under her breath. she was in bad condition and elana's blindness would wear off soon. thinking furiously, she quickly said "Faça-me invisÃvel." (make me invisible.)
then she retreated silently to a corner of the room, careful not to make any noise. she pulled a small vial of healing potion out of her pocket and quickly drank some, making sure to leave some for later, as she didn't have much of the potion. her minor wounds instantly healed. her headache didn't completely go away, but at least her head wasn't pounding as badly as it was before.
the warm breeze seemed to tease her with its gentleness, and streams bit her lip as she concentrated. Finally she said, "Scorpions venenosos!" (poisonous scorpions) and quickly added "Faça-me imune a seu veneno!" (Make me immune to their poison!)
she watched contentedly as the scorpions headed towards elana. then streams decided to strengthen her shield and shouted, "Proteja-me de todas as coisas, fÃsico e mágico!" (Protect me from all things, physical and magical!) This was a very complicated spell, and in her weakened condition, streams wasn't sure it would work. But hopefully it would.
streams decided to do two last things as she saw elana begin to regain her sight. elana reached for her wand just as streams shouted, "Headache do pounding!" (Pounding headache!) Now elana would get a taste of what streams had felt like only moments before.
streams added, "Pés pesados." (heavy legs.) now elana would feel as if her legs were weighed down, and this would force her to move very slowly.
streams grinned widely. she was still invisible and would remain so for a few more minutes.::

| ::Elana let out a small yelp as she was forced backwards, her wand dropping from her hand as she reached out to steady herself against one of the stone columns. She heard it fall and begin to roll away from her, but before she could snatch it back Streams made her blind! Elana quickly dropped down to her knees, blindly feeling around for her wand. It had stopped moving so she couldn't use her enhanced hearing to help- she had no way to get to it but to do it the old fashioned way.::
::Before she had traveled too far, Streams sent another spell, and by the sound of it something about scorpions. Elana's thoughs were proved right when suddenly she heard the scuttling of many scorpions racing towards her. She couldn't panic- that would just make things worse. She rubbed her eyes with the backs of her hands while still trying to find her wand, knowing that she needed to see if she was going to get anywhere. She could slightly see, the spell was wearing off. Her vision was clouded but it was better than nothing- and there was her wand! She grinned and reached for it but was struck with two more spells, one giving her an unbearable headache and the other making her legs heavy as lead. Elana groaned, putting her hands to her forehead and eyes squeezing shut. Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. She picked up her wand and then the blindness spell was completely gone and she had to struggle to not scream. Surrounding her were hundreds of scorpions, pincers clicking ominously, black eyes glinting evilly as they inched ever closer. I don't like scorpions.....::
::But she now had her wand and first conjured a protective box-like barrier around her to keep the scorpions away. "ψηλός invisible τοίχοs (high invisible walls)," she said, and with a grim smile saw that it had worked. She let out a long sigh, trying to control her fear. The scorpions were stopped when they reached the barrier, and though it was very creepy to be surrounded by them they couldn't do any more harm than that. She then sighed and turned to returning her legs to normal and her head headache free. "ελαφρύς όπως έναs φτερό (light as a feather). καθαρός κατάδυση με το κεφάλι (clear headed)."
::The first spell not only affected her legs, it made her entire body light and she was actually hovoring a few inches above the stone of the floor. Time to get rid of the scorpions and then find Streams.::
"εξαφανίζομαι (disappear)," she said, and the scorpions vanished into thin air. She disabled the barrier and touched back down onto the ground, looking around the chamber for her opponent. "Oh Streamers," she called joyously, "where have you run off to, dear? The duel isn't over yet..."
::And then she saw something not quite right. Streams had turned invisible, that was certain, but it was wearing off. Near a wall of the chamber, Elana was beginning to see Streams emerge from invisibility. She smiled, emerald eyes twinkling.::
"There you are."
::She raised her wand, pointed it at Streams and said, "απώλεια του βαρύτητα (loss of gravity)!" The partly invisible Streamers resisted, a shield she had performed earlier preventing Elana from being able to work the spell correctly. But after another try, Streams suddenly flew to the ceiling, gravity not affecting her anymore. "ιστός αράχνης (spider web)," she cried, and the web of a spider sprang out of her wand and stuck Streams to the ceiling. For the final touch, Elana conjured a gigantic spider which landed in front of her, crawled up a wall, and up onto the ceiling towards Streams.::

| (haha excellent XD)
streams frowned slightly when she saw that elana had dealt with the spells reasonably quickly. Obviously elana had learned that actions spoke louder than words, because she had stopped gloating...as streams pondered this she didn't realize that her invisibility spell was already wearing off and her outline was visible. Therefore she didn't know to dodge the spell elana sent at her.
Her lips quirked as she bit back a grin when elana's spell couldn't get through her shield. But the second spell elana cast did get through, and it was then that streams realized there was a flaw in the shield. If any spell was cast twice in quick succession, it would get through the shield. How unfortunate.
Streams tossed her head, grasping her wand tightly as she began to rise into the air and she groaned inwardly as she was promptly stuck in a huge spider's web. She was about to perform a few simple spells to release herself when she saw the huge spider coming her way.
No...not a spider! She muttered a curse, streams couldn't stand spiders and even the thought of having to kill or disable one made her feel nauseous. Looking the other way, she raised her wand and shouted, "Stupefy!"
The spider's rustling stopped, and streams was certain that it had stopped moving as well. But when she turned her head she got a nasty surprise. Apparently her spell hadn't worked, because the spider had come even closer and now stuck out two very hairy legs, which it placed on her shoulders. Streams couldn't help it, she screamed.
No, no...don't panic... an inward voice cautioned her and she took large, shuddering gulps of breath, trying to calm down. Then she raised her wand again and yelled, "Alles bevriest!" (everything freeze)
She had merely meant to stop the spider in its tracks, but she was in a hurry and so she had forgotten a crucial wand movement, a sort of twirling technique. Therefore freeze took on a literal meaning, and the room turned deathly cold. Streams didn't realize this at first, because she was still encased in the warm bubble of air she had conjured earlier.
But she realized suddenly that the web was cracking...it had turned to ice and shards fell downwards, some of them sharp as glass.
The spider fell lifelessly to the floor and streams turned away, grimacing. She was still hovering in midair so she muttered, "Herstel ernst," (reinstate gravity) and she abruptly fell out of the air, landing hard on the stone floor. She winced, cursing her stupidity and feeling for broken bones, but all she had suffered were some scrapes and bumps. It was not worth using up her precious healing potion for that, so she ignored the slight but sharp pain as best as she could.
She then conjured an enchantment "Illusie van mij," (illusion of myself) that made it seem as if there were two of her. The illusion of streams she left directly in elana's path, but the illusion was slightly transparent, so perhaps elana would think that she had tried another invisibility spell. Meanwhile the actual streams tiptoed to a corner of the room and she whispered, "Mengsel moeiteloos," (blend effortlessly) and brought down her wand with a sudden swishing movement. Now streams blended into the background. She was leaning against the wall in a shaded corner and as far as she was concerned it would be nearly impossible to find her real self.
Instead, streams would amuse herself for a bit as she watched elana throw spells at the illusion of streams.
Streams stood silently for a few minutes, and elana didn't move. What was she waiting for? Moving her head a bit to the side so that she could see Elana's face, streams felt a sudden shock when she realized that elana was slowly but surely turning blue. She hadn't meant for the freezing spell to effect her as well...but now that it had happened she wasn't going to help her get out of it. "Elana's showing some house pride," streams muttered under her breath, smirking.

| (niiiiiiiice XD)
::Elana watched with a griamce as Streams took care of what she had sent at her. Should've protected the spider, stupid, she thought, chiding herself, when Streams sent a spell that froze the entire room and everything inside of it. Within moments Elana found herself unable to move, her joints stiff, limbs heavy and feet stuck to the floor of the chamber as everything grew freezing cold. Uh oh.::
::She was just glad that she could breathe, seeing white icy crystals blow forth from her mouth everytime she exhaled, and when she inhaled it hurt terribly. Tiny ice particles seemed to be trickling down her throat with every breath she took, not exactly the best feeling. While she was thinking of what she could do, she noticed that Streams seemed to just be taking it easy, standing in front of her as she waited to continue. It looked like she had tried another invisibility spell, this one making her not fully visible. Well, she would just have to wait.::
::Elana could feel that her wand was still held in her hand, but what could she do if she couldn't speak? She would have to chance a non-verbal spell. She was still working on perfecting the ability, but she wasn't just going to stand there immobile for the rest of the duel.::
::Verwarm mijn bloed (warm my blood), she thought, concentrating as hard as she could on the spell. Instead of thinking one to warm her body, she had decided on a simplier one. The blood traveled all over her body and would warm it in time, and it was the first step towards becoming fully mobile again. Soon she could feel her body beginning the gradual heating up, and so decided on another spell. The first would take too long to complete but it was good to get feeling back in her toes. Rand in hitte (surround in heat), she thought, and felt the air begin to warm up, helping to ease her body back to its normal state. A few more spells later (now able to use her voice, it was made easier) the room had warmed up and Elana was back to normal.::
"I don't really like the cold," she commented. "Let's see how you like the heat. Als de woestijn (like the desert)," she said, and Streams found herself stuck in a desert like surrounding. If she moved, the desert would follow. A harsh hot wind was blowing her hair around, whipping sand into her face, and the air around her turned unbearably hot. But she seemed totally unaffected. Elana raised an eyebrow, suprised. Well, that was strange.::
"Vlieg rug (fly back)," she said, trying her luck with a different spell. But it just seemed to go through her. What was going on?::

| streams stood silently against the wall as elana warmed up the place. but when she saw elana throwing spells at the illusion, a small chuckle escaped streams' mouth. she quickly clapped a hand over her mouth, hoping elana hadn't heard anything. then she decided to confuse her even further and she raised her wand and brought it slashing downwards as she said quietly, "Onmogelijk gelach." (unearthly laughter)
A wicked, weird laugh filled the room and it went on and on, echoing off the walls and delighting in elana's confusion.
