ROUND 1: GROUP 3 : Littleprincess_01 V Snape lover

Mel walked into the room smiling. She was once again the first to arrived which gave her chance to prepare.

Taking out her wand, she muttered;

"maximales Schild" (Maximum shield in German)

Before twirling her wand around and with a sharp flick she muttered

"Geist-Armee" (Ghost army in German)

She grinned as the semi-transparent figures appeared around her ready to aid her in her duel.

Aliza entered the duelling arena and saw that her opponent had already arrived, she had wanted to be first but there was nothing she could do about that now. She realised that Mel hadn’t realised that she had arrived and decided to play this to her advantage. She pointed her wand at her self and muttered a quick non-verbal spell under her breath "vergeetachtige draai" (make me oblivious - Dutch) This spell was a form of invisibility. It meant that Mel's attention would be directed away from her - she was not truly invisible. This spell was a hard one to perform and it involved her holding a certain state of mind. It would be difficult for her to perform spells at the same time but she has practised a lot.

She then noticed some shimmering figures at the other end of the room. Ghosts she thought. Oh no! She racked her brain for some defensive spell against the ghosts and then it came to her. If you can’t beat them - join them She smiled to her self and pointed her wand at herself again "συνέπεια φαντασμάτων" (ghost consistency - Greek) Naturally this didn’t mean that she was a ghost, her body had simply taken the same form as a ghosts. This meant that she was now oblivious to the ghosts’ attacks.

That’s the Ghosts sorted - now for Mel she thought to herself. Preparing to throw a spell at Mel it occurred to her - If Mel has any sense she would have brought up some protection. She had prepared well though - Mel wouldn’t know what hit her. She pointed at Mel - still oblivious of her arrival - and uttered another non-verbal spell "разрушьте все предохранение" (destroy all protection - Russian) The advantage of this spell was that it was a silent spell - Mel wouldn’t even realise that her shield had vanished until it was too late.

Then Aliza decided to conjure up some protection for herself and was about to do so when she realised - with her body having the consistency of a ghosts all spells would just pass through her, not affecting her body at all. So... she thought Now for the attack

Aliza inspected the room for any inspiration – unfortunately she found none. She then decided to disarm Mel – the spell was simple but very effective and would mean that Mel couldn’t attack or defend herself. She pointed at Mel and muttered “Expelliaramus!” As Mel’s wand flew out her hands she saw the look of shock on Mel’s face. She had finally realised Aliza was her. Before Mel was able to do anything Aliza shot a long stream of spells at her “Incendio! Stupefy! Petrificus Totalus!” Aliza has shouted the first spells that came in to her head and hadn’t thought about their consequences until now – Mel would be stunned, unable to move AND on fire. Not a great combination. At least Mel would only be affected for the duration of the duel. Unsure of what to do now that Mel was in the state she was in she wandered around the room – inspecting the ghost army. It wasn’t much of an army really – nothing to brag about. They were limp and hardly in control of their bodies. She realised that they were only created to frighten her – Mel would hardly be able to control them. Despite this she kept her ghost consistency – she liked being able to float and fly about the arena. Well, what now? she thought to herself. Having inspected the army there was nothing much left to do in so bland a room. Well…other than making the room un-bland. At the flick of her wand some Gryffindor decorations appeared, brightening up the room. Now that she had exercised her imagination she sat down on the floor and waited. When – no IF – Mel came to she would still be oblivious to where in the room Aliza was. She felt that the duel was going very well – much better than she’d expected.

Suddenly, Mel felt her wand fly from her hand and soon after she felt her body stiffen until she fell to the floor, realising too late that she wasnt alone.

"This is not good" she thought, yet she knew she couldn't give up. If she was to act she would have to concentrate. She had worked long and hard on wandless and silent spells, if only she could do it now.

Mel heard a creaking of the floorboards, yet she couldn't quite place where it was coming from. After a second one was heard, she quickly put all her thoughts into the spell

"Schneller Anblick" (Rapid Sight in german) She thought, a spell which allowed her sight to pick up things which normal sight did not.

Suddenly a vague outline of a person came into view from the corner of her eyed. Mel wondered why she couldn't see princess properly, then she had a thought.

"Verstand verwirrt" (Mind confuse in German) she thought, hoping that she was right in thinking that princess had used an oblivious spell, which meant that confusing her mind will remove the spell.

She watched, though, as her ghost army seemed to be oblivious to princess. Groaning, she knew her spell was too weak and it didnt help that she was still frozen, yet she could use it to her advantage.

"Blut ändert" (blood alter in german) she commanded silently, her mind focused on the center of the ghosts as she watched the ghosts take form and turn into a form of vampire with a brilliant sense of smell for blood.

"You cant hide from me" Mel laughed inwardly before casting another spell just in case

"fest" (Solid in German) she thought as suddenly the figure of princess came into view and the vampires began to decend on her.

Mel wondered whether to try to reverse the petrification spell, yet she decided against it as her non-verbal and wandless spells were working brilliantly. She decided to simply watch the fun
