One-on-one duel

This will only be 6 posts each,
The duel will consist of ONLY MADE UP SPELLS.
Please remember to write in brackets what each spell does. Remember, JK Rowling uses Latin a lot!!

Points will be awarded at the end!

::WL peered carefully at her opponent. She suddenly raised her wand and threw one of her specialities at duck. The Sweet Throw!

“Conicio Lollipops!” She cried, as thousands of lollipops rained down on duck. Without wrappers and sticky. There were too many of them to be able to be defended by a shield.

For good measure, WL also yelled “Conicio chewing gum!” so thick sticky wads of chewing gum were also thrown at duck.

This was a friendly duel, may as well make it funny. She wondered what duck would chuck at her so she took a defensive posture and waited for the next crazy move.::

::Duck watched as WL performed her first move. She saw her mutter a spell, and seconds later felt sweets rain down on her. She quickly worked out she'd need some sort of shield, and searched her mind for the best one::

"Validus Contego" ::she shouted and felt her shield go up around her. Just in time! WL sent out a second spell, and she saw wads of chewing gum raining around her, but they bounced off her shield.::

::Duck readied herself for her first spell. She needed something that would disable WL, prevent her from retaliating too strongly. Suddenly, an idea hit her.::

"Porcospino dieci!" ::she yelled, and suddenly ten balled up hedgehogd appeared, gliding through the air towards WL.::

::WL stared in horror as the rapidly spinning hedgehogs came hurtling towards her. She could either kill them or hurt them by taking out heir quills or just make a barrier, thus bruising them. To her animal friendly mind, she would have to be satisfied with bruising them.::

::She thought of her father’s dartboard, suddenly, and pointed her wand in front of her. Her yell was muffled, due to the fact that she had crouched down into a defensive ball and was biting her hanky to stop from emitting an extremely un-WL-like squeal. To her panic, she couldn’t remember the spell words for the shield she wanted! She howled, if that sounded anything like a howl with a hanky-filled mouth, as she forgot the spell for her shield.::

(My bad French will have to do. French is remotely related to Latin anyway…Just say the spell, you Wally!!!…Ok, ok. Stop playing with my brain! I’m trying to think!…No!!! No thinking! You have ten hedgehogs flying at you! Thinking is too slow!…Eeeeeeeeeek!)

“Mur de cuir!”[wall of leather] (Has it worked?…Try Marathi, you dork!…Oh yeah, related to Sanskrit!)

“Kaapus ani Tela chi Bhinti!” [wall of cotton and oil]

::Finally letting out her squeal, she looked up, mortified. What would Duck think?! She howled again, ashamed of her new reputation of being a trembling little ‘baby’. Then she looked up in fascination. A thick wall of fake leather surrounded her. (Even in spells, she loved animals…even cows!) On the outside of the wall was a layer of oil, which made the cotton padding stick to it. Stuck to the cotton like darts to a Velcro board were all the hedgehogs!::

“Phew! Now for the attack!”

She thought about it…which should she do? She was going to produce pigeons, her greatest fear, to fly at duck but now she thought better of it. The pigeons might fly back at her!::

(I could produce several ten legged octopuses? Or octopi? Or if they have ten legs, they would be dectapuses…or dectapi…but they don’t have legs…they have tentacles…legs, tentacles…is there really a difference? Octopuses/octopi have been trained to walk on them…legs are for walking on! Shut up and get on with it…)

“Kreig von Dectapi!” [war of dectapi]. She felt so proud of her little baby dectapi/dectapuses, they were waging war…how cute! She struggled her way out of the hedgehog battered wall and watched how Duck dealt with her little babies…her little Dectapi…She’d better not hurt them…they were only squirting ink at her…and trying to throttle her…and…WL would just have to pray for their souls…::

::Duck watched as WL had a semi-panic attack as the hedgehogs were hurtling towards her, and grinned, but soon, WL had managed to deflect the spiked animals.

Then, WL seemed to get a look of concentration on her face, and suddenly, Duck saw several...ten-tentacled octupuses coming at her. She shrieked, and attempted to put up her shield, which worked against several of the creatures, but two got through, and squirted her with foul smelling ink and attempted to strangle her.

"Ligne de feu!" ::she yelled, slashing downwards and chopping the tentacles off the squirting-ink octopus. Then, she had to deal with the one that was strangling her...

"Bouillonnez!" ::the octopus started to blow up like a bubble, and eventually floated to the ceiling. Now for the retaliating attack...

"les poux de la tête ont multiplié!" she yelled, and grinned as she saw the instantaneous reaction from WL, she was scratching her scalp like mad. Whilst WL was distracted with scratching her head, Duck grinned as she planned her next move...

"L'effet de Pat Sharpe!" ::WL's hair became mullet like, and as soon as this happened Duck shouted "l'effet de la télévision des enfants!", and watched as WL was covered in a bright green slime, which caused her to slip over several times.::


(Ligne de feu: line of fire, bouillonnez: bubbles, les poux de la tête ont multiplié: multiplied head lice, l'effet de Pat Sharpe: the Pat Sharpe effect, l'effet de la télévision des enfants: the kids TV effect.)

::WL groaned in frustration. She hadn’t had head lice since...since...(Have I ever actually had head lice?!) Now she had dozens!

Only one thing for this...

“Extermino!” At once, she was relieved from the incessant itching on her head. Now, she just had to get her hair back to the lovely state it was in before, maybe even nicer. She tried a Marathi charm again.

“Sundar Kesh!” [beautiful hair] Her feathery, layered black hair brushed against her face.

“Saaf Karo!” [make clean]. The disgusting goo was cleaned up by a pretend mop.

(So that’s how she wants to play! Right...I can play too!)

WL raised her arms wide open, and stood in a large stance. Wind whipped her hair against her face as she cried,

“Arise, Oh Great Spirits,
Protect Me, Oh Great Spirits,
Attack Her, Oh Great Spirits,
Oh Great Spirits Of The Teletubbies.”

Suddenly, ghostly images of Teletubbies rose from the floor and crept menacingly towards Duck. They could not be stopped by anything, real or spiritual and together, the four of them were a formidable force.

WL grinned as her childhood favourites [I was EXTREMEY little] were on her side.

She finished off the effect with a good dose of...Tubby Custard!!!!!::

::Unlike many others, Duck was not scared by the presence of the teletubbies. Having watched a few episodes herself, she knew just how to handle them.

Firstly, she decided to take out Po. "Trotinette!" ::she yelled, and a red scooter appeared in front of the red teletubby. "Po scooter!" ::said Po, and scooted away out of the door. Then, Duck decided to deal with La-la. "Balle" ::a big orange ball appeared, and bounced over to La-La, who delightedly squealed and bounced it away. Next, was Dipsy. She conjured his cow-printed hat, and placed it on his head, pushing it down over his eyes and obscuring his vision.

Finally, to deal with Tinky Winky, the tallest and ahem, fiercest of the teletubbies. "La vielle femme avec le grand sac rouge!" ::Duck yelled, and an old lady with a big red handbag suddenly appeared, then ran over to Tinky Winky and began thwacking him. Once all the teletubbies had been dealt with, Duck needed to work out how to retaliate.

Suddenly, it hit her, and she hoped WL wasn't a fan of warbling Irish boybands.

"Apparaitre Westlife!" ::suddenly, Westlife appeared and began singing Uptown Girl, their worst hit. WL looked horrified, and covered her ears. Again, whilst she was distracted, Duck sent her second spell: "Miel!", golden honey covered WL, then her last spell:

"L'attaque des abeilles!" ::a swarm of bees flew towards WL, looking very angry indeed.

(Trotinette: scooter, La vielle femme avec le grand sac rouge: the old woman with the big red bag, apparaitre: appear, miel: honey, l'attaque des abeilles: the attack of the bees)

::WL covered her honey streaked ears and then thought how she had to do something quickly. She needed to make the bees disappear and since they were going to attack her, she would have to be brutal with them – animal friendliness forgotten. She lifted her wand hand and cried, “Cupola di Vetro!”[glass dome]. The bees were suddenly trapped in a glass dome and could not get out. Soon, because they ran out of oxygen, they dropped dead.

She ignored the honey (it was just honey, and quite tasty, too!) and lifted her arms again, and bellowed, “Transformez en gargouille!” [transform into gargoyle]

Suddenly, a large stone gargoyle was squatted in front of her. She conjured up some mice, which started to nibble at the stone (it was soft!).

WL cast a shield around herself, “Protegga da tutti gli attacchi” [protect from all attacks], and waited for something to happen. She had no idea how duck could get out of her situation as a stone gargoyle. To be safe, WL picked up Duck’s fallen wand and put it in her spare holster, which was protected from summoning charms::

::Duck watched as WL got rid of the bees, and then all of a sudden felt herself being shrunken into something...stone like.

She couldn't move, but rolled her eyes down to see that she had become a gargoyle, and there were mice eating her! What could she do? WL had her wand...there was no way out of this!

Then, all of a sudden, she saw the mice beginning to drop off her, and the stone seeming to melt away. The spell was wearing off! Freed from her stone prison, Duck then performed some nifty pickpocketing on WL, who was looking the other way and retrieved her wand. And now the playing field was levelled, Duck had to think fast...the duel was nearing its conclusion. What could she do to WL?

Suddenly, she remembered what a little birdy had told her, and conjured a plethora of spiders the size of shitzus, using the spell "araignees grande avec le toile forte!". Momentarily putting aside her own fear of the eight legged freaks, she used the spell 'Volez!' and the spiders flew over to WL, and began crawling all over her, wrapping her up tightly in a cocooned web.

Duck felt happy. WL was immobilized, wrapped in a thick cocoon of spiders web, that was close to impenitrable...how would she get out of it?::

::WL shuddered in disgust. At least there was a web separating her from the revolting beasts. She grinned wackily because she had her wand. What to do now was simple!::

"Punctum!" [to prick, puncture] she mumbled as a small opening appeared in the web. she quickly stuck her wand through it and mumbled again, "Arachneo in Glacies!" [spiders on ice]

::One by one, the spiders were transported onto a layer of thin ice on the far side of the dueling rink. They suddenly fell through it and drowned.::

"Putero!" [crumble] The web around her crumbled away. She put a reflective shield around herself and while Duck bent down to tie her shoelace, WL dissillusioned herself and called on her pets to help her. ::

::Iggy waddled over to duck and started to lick her shins with his course, wet, hot tongue. WL conjured a fire on duck, but also put a flame repellant charm on Duck so it wasn't overly painful for her. Sid jumped into the flames and started spitting fireballs at duck, which, although they were not painful, did sting quite a lot and left a charred black mark for 39 hours. Dopey looked around confused, since the other dwarfs were not there to dig with him. So he went over to the wall and started digging anyway, whistling "hi ho! hi ho! it's off to work we go!". Thousands of rubies came out and as he dug, he was so careless and...DOPEY, that he shovelled them right into duck. WL added to duck's problems by showering her with spells from Zonko's Ztupid Zpell Book. ::

::She only hoped that duck wouldn't kill her poor, old and slightly dim pets. But if she did, then WL could always get some more...::

::Duck was annoyed that WL had broken through the cocoon so easily, and wished she'd taken her wand beforehand.

Suddenly, she saw some very odd looking creatures advancing on her, and then felt her body go up in flames. Luckily, it also felt as though WL had placed a flame repellant charm on her as well, which made the flames feel like a tickling sensation. A

At the same time, a crazed iguana was licking her leg. Duck kicked her leg out and the iguana went flying over the other side of the room. Next, a salamander started spitting fireballs at her. She pulled out her wand and cast the spell "Coupez!" The salamander was chopped in half, and ceased spitting fireballs. In fact, it ceased living.

WL's final attack was a Dopey looking dwarf. Duck quickly disabled the fire charm, then cast a shield charm so the rubies and Zonko's spells the dwarf and WL were sending at her were easily deflected.

Now Duck needed to retaliate. Suddenly hit with an idea, she conjured a sterile screen around herself, and a sterile shield spell, then shouted::

"Peste Noir!"

::WL erupted in pustulous black boils, her brow became damp with sweat, and she looked close to vomiting. She had the Black Plague. Then, whilst WL was weakened, Duck sent another spell across.

"Papillon de nuit, multiplie!" Thousands of large moths flew over to WL, swarming and surrounding her plague-infested self.::

::WL started to feel really sick. What was duck thinking? The black plague was lethal!!

WL thought back to her trips to Eyam village which was isolated because its villagers had the plague. She remembered that some woman, Mary, Maggie, whatever, had recovered from it by drinking bacon fat. She conjured some fat, drank it up and since the plague was a magical one, her nauseous feeling disappeared at once.

Then, she turned her attention to the moths which were fast approaching her. She shuddered. Why did Duck have to conjure up the things she hated most!? Spiders, bees, moths, plague, next it would be pigeons!

She waved her wand towards the side and yelled, "Alte Kleidung!" [old clothes]. The moths suddenly changed direction and started eating the old clothes. They ate so much that they burst and dies.

WL turned her attention back to duck. She wouldn't give duck the chance to conjure up pigeons. She conjured them up herself!

"Grex Pigeons!" A huge flock of pigeons flapped towards duck and started pecking her painfully all over her body.

For good measure, WL put a shield spell and a protection charm on all of them to give longer lasting effects.::

::Duck watched with horror as WL drank bacon fat.::

"Erlack!" ::she said, thinking that drinking bacon fat was punishment enough. Then, WL managed to deflect her attacking moths, and then conjured some pigeons.

Duck didn't mind this, pigeons, whilst being flying vermin were not that uncommon in her home town of Birmingham, and so she knew how to handle them.

"Les soldats de pain!" A bag of bread soldiers appeared in Duck's hand and she began to scatter them around her, all the while humming in her head the song "feed the birds" from Mary Poppins. The pigeons began to attack the bread, leaving Duck free to carry out her final blow, now that they duel had reached its conclusion.::

"Fromageus!" ::she shouted, and grinned as WL turned into a statue of stilton.

"Dix faim souris!" ::ten hungry mice appeared, and hurried over to WL's prone cheese-form and began to nibble them. Duck sauntered over to the cheese-statue, and clapped WL on her smelly blue-veined shoulder.

"Good duel, my friend, good duel.::
