This is kinda a story....lol XD

So I know Deathly Hallows hasn't come out yet, but this is a pre-DH thing... I was bored a few nights ago, trying to decide what to wear to the midnight party (XD)... So I was on my computer because I got tired of staring into my closet, and I began playing with paint a bit... So I thought wouldn't it be cool to have a purple hippo thing to put on a shirt or something (I remembered what Caro did at the eurovision thing), but I didn't know how to do it... so I just made a pic..... http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=63cuan6

The release party I went to was great! Becky and Elly went into the town centre at 7pm, it was pouring with rain. They went to the McDonalds opposite the bookshop and kept watch in case anyone started to queue up.

I arrived at about 10pm, and they were sitting in the doorway of the bookshop on the picnic blanket they'd taken, with flasks of tea and biscuits. There was quite a large queue of people already, but Becky and Elly were at the front, yay! We had an audience of Chavs, who kept shouting comments like "Why are you all queueing up? That's sad!" etc. Then there were the ones who tried to queue up and were like "I'm coming in, I want the book!" but luckily the security guard got rid of them.

Then, at 10.30, they opened the bookshop and we all went in and paid for our books. We got given a ticket, so that we could just pick up the book on the way out at midnight. There weren't too many people there at that point, and we were able to just hang around the shop. They'd put up colouring tables for the kids, and a woman was going around with a quiz - Becky, Elly and I answered all the questions right and she was amazed :D

There were lots of people in costume, which I thought was great! Mainly we just sat wandered around and talked to the other Potter fans. At about 11.30, it was getting really, really crowded in the shop, like literally packed and they had to stop letting people in, also at around this time a big queue started to form and we were sort of shunted to the back

BUT, Becky went up to the lady and said "We were waiting since 7.30 and were first in the queue outside," and so she let us come to the front!

There was this really annoying lady who kept saying really loudly things like "Oh, when we met JK Rowling and got all four of your books signed," and being generally obnoxious. Then she started the countdown to midnight at 11.55...because her watch was wrong.

Anyway, they had to bring the trollies of books from the back of the shop to the front and this was difficult, because there were so many people queueing. But they got to the front, and then it was midnight and everyone clapped and cheered and we got our books! I think I was the fifth person to get it. Then, outside and WOAH! There was an absolutely massive queue snaking down out of the bookshop. I hadn't realised so many people would turn up and I was so glad we got there early!

We came home, I didn't read in the car on the way back and then I settled onto my bed and started to read. Yay!

hehe, My story isn't quite as exciting. I was at my friend's party which went on until nine, and then after the party I had to pick up my sister from dinner at 10, and then they were late so we ended up getting home at about 10:45. I took a shower and then we left haha. My mom and I got to the bookstore at about 11:40... just in time, huh?

We waited in this super-long line for about an hour... they had had owls there, REAL OWLS!, but we got there too late to see them

And we talked to the people in line a little, and one of the people behind us got this super-genius idea to get the book off one of the shelves in the front and she was reading it in line

And then we got to the front and paid and went out to our car, which was in this sketchy dark lot kind of far away from the store because we couldn't find a parking spot. I had a waterbottle ready to beat up any sketchy people who would try to jack the book off us

And so we drove home and I started the book in my bed with a reading light so I wouldn;t wake up my sister haha.

lol my story is pretty boring... XD I don't live in a small country village but it's still a rather small town lol and Quebec is a French speaking province, so most people will wait until October 26th for the french version to come out, so I knew there wouldn't be many people there. I left around 11:30 with my mom to go to the bookstore and we got there around like... 11:40, and I was 52nd in line (they gave us tickets XD) so it wasn't too bad lol

Around 10 to midnight they let us into the shop and there were these paper things that were suposed to keep us in line (you know those things you put up for birthdays and that can be broken with a poke XD) and there were those small images of each House holding on to them and my mom asked to have some XD rofl I was like... Mom, I can print those at home. heh

Anyways, there was a rather lame countdown to midnight to be honest, no commotions here really, people were happy to get the book but you know... there was definitely no need for police lol I think there must have been 100 people coming to get it, maybe a bit less. So I got my book rather early, around ten past midnight, and they gave us a few things with it like some stickers, a poster of the book cover, a 'Keep Out' sign to put on the door, a bookmark and a fake tattoo of a lightning which I put on my feet XD I might take a picture later lol. They also took our names to get a certificate that said 'I was there on July 21st to get DH' blah blah blah, so we'll be going to get that tomorrow. Well today now lol.

Anyways, then I went back home, shut myself away from the rest of the world (after my parents kept me down for an annoyingly long 5 minutes) and I started reading the book around half past midnight and finished at 9:30 in the morning lol. And then I went to bed at 3 pm and just woke up at midnight and my sleep pattern is all messed up XD sheesh

Well!!!!!

Lol, i was at my cousin's wedding allllllllllllllllllllll day, so we left the party (me and john aka xander838) at 9:15pm, went and collected Kaytii (Geordie_lass43) from her mum's house and then headed into town.

We got to WHSmith for about 10pmish and joined the que which in all honesty wasnt that long lol. We started talking to some guy in the line, as you do, about the books and what might happen in the final one.

Both Kaytii and i were wearing our t-shirts promting HE as time ticked by the queue started to grow bigger ever so slightly, and Kaytii went to have a alittle look at the queue outside Waterstones.

We walked via the back of that line, and saw a pipper band kind of thing, three guys, one with a huge drum (everyone in the WHSmith line thought it was thunder but it was just the huge drum) one with a pipe and i dont remember what the otehr had as my attention was captured by two kids (mid teens) dressed as HP charecters having a "wand fight" lol. the line outside of Waterstones was HUGE compared to our own line and it looked like a huge load of fun to have been in that queue lol.

Anyway as time passed, and the clocked ticked ever so slowly towards 11:30pm the press showed up, one reporter, one journolist and guess what! we werent interviewed lol but we were in some of the pictures, i made Kaytii turn around and face the camera at that point lol.

Unfortunatly i was ill on Saturday so i didnt go and buy the paper for the pictures and the website doesnt have the pics either, hopefully somone in the family will have bought the paper, fingers crossed anyway!

So the staff of WhSmith came out fo the shop with trays of sweets and free t-shirts, a harry potter quiz book and some small diary thing. we all got t-shirts and sweets, Kaytii even got a quiz book. i like free stuff

At midnight the doors were thrown open, and we all entered the shop, the manager, bless him, must have been the only person in the country to abide by the publishers request of to not place the books on the shelves/hand them out straight out of the boxes, we were literally in and out by 12:04am and my nose was straight in the book! By now the queue had grown extremely long! I did welll not to open the book at a random page all though we did check the back page to confirm if the spoilers leaked on line were true, and they were, which made john shout very loudly....we were still walking past those in the queue, ooops.

WOOOOOO i had fun at the release party XD

Well my mom and i went to Barnes and Nobles about ten so we wouldn't be in like the 's' group or something to get our books. (we ended up in 'h'- i still have the wrist band) and so we went into the little kids section for the 11-15 year old look alike contest. (my hair was straightened, so no hermione for me =P)

umm yeah. my friend Carrie who i saw (haha she was dressed as tonks) or the kid who looked like ginny (she looked just like the ginny i see in my head as the 11 year old...) should have won, in my opinion. However, the girl who did win, she was dressed as the fat lady, was great too.

We got starbucks and i took a picture wth the Harry Potter poster thing. I put bunny ears on harry XD and then when i was walking away i was all like "I hope the brat dies" and then the lady was all like "Wow. that's the first time i've heard that tonight." and i was all like "you don't get many undercover death eater's do you?" and then my mom dragged me away and told me no more starbucks.

aaaannnnd then we were getting pushed around in the crowd around the teenage section and there was this guy who had "trust snape" written in green and black on his face. I was all like "Trust snape....that's hot," and he smiled and i giggled. and then i got told by my mother not to flirt with all the cute guys....


hmmm so yeah. those are my main stories of the night...i had someone paint a dark mark on my arm (i still have the outline of it XD) and i picked up a harry potter prediction. (apperantly i am supposed to find romance in a tea shop. Mom said no tea shops for me...) anndddddd lemme think....i got my book at like 12:40- something or other. =] i pulled an all nighter to read it as well. Now i have to reread it XD

At my friend's birthday party, we left for Books A Million and got there around 10:30... we were sorted into Houses based on age (We were all in Ravenclaw) and then we went there. There was face painting but it didn't look that good so we didn't do it... We went and got a place in line and when I was browing the store, I found Sealed with a Diss, the latest (and last?) Clique book. I got it, went to line, and sat and read it. At 11:00, there was a trivia thing at the Ravenclaw section of the store and I went to participate. there were only a few people and we played for half an hour... it was a speed thing... I got like all of them right XD. Then I went back in line and we waited ofr a half hour... there was a good countdown to 12:01 and then the line started moving!!!1 My friends and I were squealing and I was hyperventilating XD so when we got to the head of the line, I was feeling faint... I got the book in a bag and I took it out, and just held it... We were looking for out friends who didn't get the book (they don't like harry potter very much *gasp*). On the way, I was just savoring the moment and I was in awe and shock and everything... When I finally sat down when we found our friends, I started crying... My friends and I were all like.. Are you okay June? lol XD When we were waiting to get picked up, I began reading the book along with my friend Rebecca.... so.... yeah.... lol XD

Okay my story isn't much so I went bed at 6pm and my mum woke me up at 8pm and I got ready to go in my Hogwarts uniform. I put my gryffindor scarf on 'cos I was being a girl version of Harry but I don't think the picture I have shows the scar lol! So once I had got ready I picked my dad up 'cos he doesn't have a license 'cos of drink driving. The we went down town and my mum dropped me of at asda. I than ran to waterstones and stood outside. The lady then came out and told me I was the first one there and I went inside. My friends Jess and Peter came half an hour later and sat with me. There was about 15 people there then. We did quizes and had sweets and stuff. I then went sleep on Peter for about half an hour and then it was 11pm and we were all hyped up. We were singing and jumping up and down and stuff. We then sat there and discussed theories. Then we wrote 5 things down we thought would happen and made a bet. At half past I began to cry with excitment and Peter knocked over loads of the books. We ended picking them up and then sitting down for 10 minutes hugging each other.
Then the books got shown and I got served first I then made my dad run with me to the car (who had been in the pub until 11:30) When I was running I saw my friend Adam and quickly hugged him. Then I went home and sat in the living room and read until I had finished the book XD.
Thats the picture the people took when I first walked in. Its on display in waterstones now but they did me a copy 'cos I know the people who work there.

some one dresses up as mad eye moody! They had a freaky mask, a fake eye that glowed in the dark, a long black robe, and a knarled walking stick. My brother dressed up as a dementor and a lady dressed up in a fairy costume blew sparkles on him. He got upset and went home with my Mom, while I stayed with my Dad. I couldn't read the book during the car ride home because I had just eaten a very sticky harry potter sucker I was allowed to read only one chapter that night, but I finished it the next day when I was on a plane ride to Scotland.
