17th House Quidditch: Slytherin vs. Gryffindor: 1st - 5th

[Slytherin Chaser]


Ame exited the locker rooms and entered the quidditch pitch to find it completely empty. She took a deep breath...inhaling the intoxicatin fresh summer air. This was the 2nd to last game of the term and she was ready to keep the lead they had in the race for the quidditch cup! She smoothly slid on her broom and pulled straight to the sky. She did a few warm up laps while she waited for the rest of her wonderful team to show up!

(Gryffindor Keeper)

Amy flew onto the Quidditch pitch and took in the conditions, which were perfect for a game. Clear, cool and not a cloud in sight - unusual for the recent weather in the UK at the moment!

She flew lazily across the pitch, as the other teams - apart from Ame, a Slytherin chaser - had arrived yet. A few people were in the spectators stands, and she waved to the Gryffindors, eliciting a cheer and clapping.

She then flew to the goalposts and circled them once before awaiting the arrival of the rest of the teams.

[Slytherin Chaser]


Ame smiled as she saw Amy, the Gryffindor keeper, fly to her position. This would definately prove to be an intense game. Raisty was right behind her and they started doing some warm-up drills...getting used to the weather conditions and gearing up for the game to start. Madame Hooch looked like she would release the quaffle at anytime and Ame was ready for some action.

(Gryffindor Keeper)

Amy saw Rai fly onto the pitch and had to grin as he flew in a way that could only be described as 'posing'. She bit back laughter as he pushed his hood back and flew around the pitch - what did he think he looked like?

She smothered her laughter and kept an eye on the entrance to the pitch. Where was the rest of her team??

(Slytherin Beater)

Cat hurried to get her quidditch robes on. She had been so caught up in work she had forgotten about the days quidditch game. She would not allow herself to miss a quidditch game and dissapoint her team.

When she was dressed and ready she grabbed her broom and beater bat before running to the pitch. She smiled looked up at her teamates, the rival keeper, and the stands. She loved playing quidditch. It always livened up her mood. She hopped on her broom and rose up into the air towards her teammates.

"Hey guys," Cat said as she got near Agatha and Raisty. "Ready to beat the Gryffies?"

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June pulled on her Quidditch robes and raced onto the field. She gulped. There were quite a lot of Slytherins already there and only Amy for Gryffindor! Oh well... she'd play her best anyway, even though she was also on vacation at the same time... June had placed an illusion where her body was supposed to be in her bed. She climbed onto her broom and kicked off, allowing herself a moment of relaxation to enjoy the breeze before she focused on the game at hand. "Hey Amy!" June called to her Keeper friend and waved. She practiced for a few minutes, doing loops, flying upside down, flying quickly and swiftly breaking, to warm up. Glancing around her, June took note of Raistlin and Cat... Beaters... just wonderful. She'd watch out for them, and since the game was about to start and no Gryffie beaters had shown up yet, maybe she'd practice being a beater as well. That thought put a smile on her face, though it was quickly wiped off and replaced by a look of concentration as June's eyes alighted on the quaffle that was, at that moment, thrown into the air. "Mine!" June whispered as with a sudden burst of speed, she cut through the air on her broom and snatched the quaffle out of the air. She wheeled her broom around and sped off towards the Slytherin goal posts, trying to keep out of reach and range of the Slytherin Chasers.

Suddenly, June heard the whistle of air indicating a Bludger approaching and reacted instinctively. She loosened her grip on the handle of her broom and, using the momentum of her forward motion, swung upside down, performing the Sloth Grip Roll. Usually when performing this move, June would stop and then right herself after the Bludger had gon, before flying off once more, but this time, she changed her routine. As June swung upside down, she nudged her broom and it began climbing... atleast from its rider's perspective. The broom flew on, angled down, and June blinked, trying to hold onto her breakfast. She wasn't flying at a very steep angle, but she was flying quickly, and she wasn't used to flying upside down at such a speed. June neared a pole and she assumed it was one of the Slytherin goals... Hopefully, it was. She reached its base and quickly made a sharp turn. The reactive force of the turn swung her to the side and June used that energy to right herself, seeing the world spin as she did so. Pushing forward and increasing her speed, June began flying up the pole, making corkscrews around it as she adjusted to flying rightside up. When she had neared the top, June spun away from the pole and arced in flight, as flew away from her corkscrewing position on the pole and towards the hoop farther up. "Come on..." she muttered through gritted teeth as she fought a rising sense of motion sickness. Finally, June judged herself close enough and drew her arm back. "Please," she whispered and threw. June closed her eyes and winced, expecting the non-approaching 'ding' of the bell. It didn't come. Quite the opposite, actually. The bell 'dinged' and June slowly began to grin as she realized that she'd scored for Gryffindor!!! "Yes!" she squealed and did a little dance on her broom. It was only then that she noticed the fact that she'd scored through the left hoop, instead of the center one as she'd expected. Oh well, atleast she'd scored.

[Slytherin Chaser]


Ame watched as the quaffle was thrown in by Madame Hooch. She raced straight towards it...but was a split second too late. June had snatched it up and was on her way to the unprotected Slytherin goals. Ame was right on her tail the whole way there...but she couldn't quite catch up. She knew if she didn't succeed June would undoubtedly score...the goals being clear of any obstacles for her. June slowed down quickly as she approached the hoops, and Ame nearly collided with the back of her broom. She had to pull up fast to avoid a collision. She barley saw June throw the quaffle towards the goals, but the ding of the bell told her June had scored. Not wanting to dwell on things she couldn't change, Ame flew back to the center of the pitch. She was ready to take control of the quaffle.

(Gryffindor keeper)

Amy whooped and punched the air as she heard the distant ding of the bell meaning that Gryffindor had scored. She smiled as she saw June do a little dance on her broomstick, but set her mouth in a grim line when she saw Ame go after the quaffle.

She was ready to defend the hoops, and hoped that her Slytherin friend wouldn't score.

[Slytherin Chaser]


Ame smiled as she watched June and Amy do little victory dances. Her attention suddenly averted to the middle of the pitch where the whistle had just blown and the quaffle was released. Ame swooped in like a vulture over a dead carcass and grabbed the glorious red ball. She hunkered down low on her broom to gain speed...and was headed straight for the Gryffindor goals. Out of no where Ame heard a high pitched whistle zinging by her ear. She ducked just in time to watch a bludger zoom straight toward her head and pass by without harm. Ame looked around to see who had sent the bludger her way...but no one was around. She shook off the near death experience and started off towards the goals again. She could hear cheers coming from the Slytherin stands and she smiled to herself. She gave a quick wave to her fellow housemates..and quickly continued on her way to victory. Ame decided to have a little fun and try out a move she had once seen. She had practiced it, but never actually done it during a game. It was called the Woollongong Shimmy, which was first done by the famous Australian team. This manuever would have her doing some high-speed zig-zags to throw off the other teams chasers. Ame lowered her chest to where it was almost touching her broom, and intertwined her arms tightly around it. She made a slight movement to her right and then again to her left...hopefully this spectacular move would help throw off the chasers, should the quaffle somehow break free from her death grip. As Ame approached the Gryffindor goals she saw her friend Amy guarding them. A large lump grew in her throat as she grew closer. Amy was a good opponent and she knew it would be tuff to get one past Amy. She continued her zig-zaging all the way up to the goals. She had just gone left...and was now zagging right..Ame quickly sat up and drew back her arm to throw the quaffle in...but at the last second, she turned the broom left and threw the quaffle straight towards the left side goal. Quickly pulling up on her broom to avoid a crash...Ame listened for the ding that would tell her if her goal was good.

(Gryffindor keeper)

Amy kept her eye on Ame as she flew towards the goals; Amy knew the Slytherin would try to score.

Sure enough, Ame performed a complicated move and sent the quaffle towards one of the goal hoops. Amy was so concentrated on watching the quaffle that she didn't see what Rai was doing - and to not pay attention to a beater was a terrible mistake.

Amy reached out to catch the quaffle, to try and prevent it from going through the hoop. But, as soon as she had caught the quaffle she felt rather than saw a heavy bludger smash into the red leather, and send shockwaves down both her arms.

Through the pain that shot up her arms, she rather imagined that this is what it would feel like to shoot a pistol without preparing yourself; she'd read in books that when a trigger is pulled by a loose hand and arm, the force of the bullet leaving the barrel would reverberate back up the arm. This was perhaps a similar feeling.

Her fingers went numb and she dropped the quaffle, and the bludger went soaring back into the game. She had saved the goal but had seemingly shattered a few bones in her arms.

Oh well she thought, it's nothing Madam Pomfrey couldn't fix

She quickly flew towards the healer, knowing that leaving the goals unattended was a little dangerous, but did so nevertheless. Madam Pomfrey fixed her up, and then Amy headed back out into the game.

(Gryffindor keeper)

Amy cursed as she flew back towards the goals. Ame had scored. No matter, it was even stevens and she would do her hardest to stop Slytherin scoring any more goals - and she would make an effort not to catch any more bludgers!

(Gryffindor Beater)

Amber rushed unto the field late, thanks to her broken alarm clock. She looked around to see just how late she was, she stared in shock at the few numbers of Gryffindor's. Getting unto her broom and flying into the air she looked around to see if either of her teammates needed defending first. Seeing that they didn't she chased after the nearest bludger and whacked it toward Ame.

Then she flew over to Amy and looked at her questionably. "Where is everyone?"

(Gryffindor Keeper)

Amy was glad to see Amber arrive on the pitch. She grinned as she saw her fellow Gryffindor whack a bludger at Ame, then fly towards the goals.

"Where is everyone?" Amber asked, and keeping an eye on the game, Amy answered.

"Well...Lisa has gone to camp so I don't think she'll be in the game. June's on holiday, Aliza is busy...it looks like it might just be us."

(Gryffindor Beater)

"You're kidding right?" Amber asked Amy in disbelief. "Where are the reserves?"

Hearing Rai's comment she glared and sped after the two bludgers, swinging her bat back she hit one of the two. Sending one flying toward him. "Well then I'll just have to make sure you're not around, won't I?"

(Slytherin Beater)

Cat saw Agatha heading for the goals with quaffle in hand. She smiled and flew behind her with her bat ready if anymore bludgers went in her direction.

"I've got your back!" She shouted to Agatha.

Cat wished Nancy or Jessie were here too. The more chasers the better, but then again the Gryffindor team seemed to not have any on there team so Agatha might be all they need to win the game.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June was flying towards the center of the pitch when she felt more than heard a whistle of air. Oh no... June looked up and saw a bludger heading right towards her! She just had time to give Raisty an evil glare before she flipped through the air on her broom and just barely avoided it, although it brushed the tail of her broom. "Hey Amber!" June called to her friend as she saw the Beater fly into the air. Her attention diverted, she gaped as she noticed that Ame had already scored! "Oh no you didn't," she muttered. Flying towards the Slytherin, June tailed her, though not quite catching up. Time to enact the Soaring steal. June aimed her broom at an upwards angle and she flew quickly until she was above Ame and slightly to the right. It was time. June'd rarely done the move without Cris for help, but a little risk never hurt anyone. "Here I go," she murmuired and stood up on her broom. Trying to balance without falling off her broom or flying into any bludgers, June leaned forward and jumped at an angle as her broom hovered and then fell. As she fell, June reached up with her arms and just barely teased the quaffle out of Ame's arms. "Gotcha!" she said and looked around wildly for her broom. There is was! Almost directly beneath her! June managed to land on it and shuddered as a shock wave moved through her. "I am never doing that again without Cris," she said as she attempted to balance without dropping her beloved quaffle. That done, June flew towards the Slytherin goal posts but risked a glance back towards Ame. The Slytherin Chaser was nearing her... June estimated the distance between them and the distance from her to the Slytherin goals and decided to take a chance. June braked briskly and changed her flight path so she was flying almost vertically up. 'Time for the Lion's Loop,' she thought. June began flying in circles, loops, around Ame, making the loops tighter and tighter as she flew. When she thought Ame might be properly confused by then, June changed course and aimed for the Slytherin goals. "Please..." June whispered as she pushed her broom onward. She knew that the Slytherin was a very good and experienced Chaser who probably wouldn't be confused for long. Last time, June had scored through the left hoop, so this time, she was aiming for the center one. She had only seconds to score. When June was close enough to the hoop, she threw the ball up, slowed her broom's speed, and aimed. WHAM! June's tight fist rammed into the quaffle, sending it scoring through the center hoop.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June frowned as Nancy flew into the air. Just great, another Slytheirn to deal with. The Slytherin Chaser caught the quaffle as June lunged for it and threw it to Ame. This was her chance. Before the other Chaser could catch it, June flattened herself on her broom and urged it onward. She shot as quickly as a bullet towards the quaffle and managed to catch it before Ame did. After the quffle touched her fingers, June instantly nudged her broom up and swooped away before Ame or Nancy could retaliate. As she turned to face the Slytherin goal posts, June saw a bludger flying and heading... right towards Amber. "Watch out!!!" she cried and sighed in relief as her friend nodded as she heard. That done, June flattened herself once more and flew straight towards the goals. Suddenly, her ruby ring started glowing. Oh no... that meant that her parent's had noticed that her body 'sleeping' in bed was actually an illusion. Sighing, June urged her broom faster and faster, desperate to score more goals for Gryffindor before her parents decided to come to her Quidditch game and most likely, ground her for life.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

Ow ow ow ow..... That was the only thought going through June's mind... that, plus, the thought that she was spinning through the air. Darn. June shook her head, trying to think rationally as she spun away from the Slytherin goals. Her knees hurt... a lot... Stupid bludgers!!! A Slytherin Beater must have hit a bludger at her knees, knowing it would distract her from scoring a goal. June steadied herself in the air and winced repeatedly as that act created throbs of pain that overwhelmed her knees and legs. Out of the corner of her eye, June saw Raisty grinning. Stupid Rainbow, to use Caro's name for him. June grunted and wheeled around her broom towards her previous destination, trying to only use her hands, knowing that using her knees would result in much much pain. June shot death glares at Raisty and sighed in relief when she saw the Slytherin goals ahead of her. She decided to skip doing any plays, knowing that her knees wouldn't let her. Time to go the straight and narrow... literally. June pressed herself against the handle of her broom, and let out a gasp of pain when her knees brushed against the brushes of her broom. When she was as flat as humanly, knee-lettingly, and aerodynamically possible, June whispered, "Please broom...." and closed her eyes. Hoping against hope, June urged her broom forward and gave it free rein. She shot forward and slowly opened her eyes. The Slytherin goal posts were getting closer and closer. When she had finally reached the scoring area, June pushed herself up on her broom and raised her arm, trying to keep her knees from brushing into anything. Aiming for the right hoop, June threw the quaffle. Unfortunately, she didn't get to see if she'd scored because her knees suddenly knocked into her broom, causing June to slip in pain. Struggling to get on her broom once more, she sighed in relief as she heard the bell ding.

[Slytherin Chaser]

Ame watched as Raisty slugged a bludger into the goal posts, which in turn bounced straight into June's knees. For a second she delighted in the chance to gain control of the quaffle that had been recently snatched from her. But not surprisingly June had made a miraculous 3 second recovery and had some how managed to score...again. Back to the middle of the pitch. Ame looked hard as Madame Hooch threw the ball up and then darted away. In a streak of green Ame had captured the quaffle and was quickly headed for the Gryffindor goals. She looked around for her teamates and saw Nancy close by. Ame motioned for Nancy to move up beside her so they could do one of their new moves. As she got close enough to touch, Ame safely handed her the quaffle. Together they flew side by side towards their destination. This way if anyone managed to get close or hey had beater trouble...the quaffle could safely be handed off. Wherever Nancy moved....Ame was a mirror image. We call this move "sidekick serpent safety". As we went along, we saw up ahead a bludger going around in circles. This peculiar site had both of us baffled for a minute...but then we saw that it was trying to attack a hummingbird that was trying to get away by flying in a circle! We both chuckled as we zoomed on to the goals. Behind us we could hear the Gryffindors gaining on us. It was time for the final move. We both crouched down as far as we could to gain a little extra speed. Then when we were just coming onto the goals...Nancy safely passed me the quaffle and I tucked it neatly into my abdomend...and continued on. Nancy on the other hand pulled back abrubtly on her broom, and came to a schreeching halt. Several of the Gryffindors weren't expecting this and nearly flew into her and had to slow down or divert their direction to prevent a collision. Ame smiled as Nancy cheered her on. As she flew to the highest goal Ame came up to it and without stoping...she quickly tossed it in with a wooshing sound. Flying over head she smiled as she heard the announcer verify the goal. Not wanting to count her chickens before they hatch and celebrate too much...she headed back to the middle of the pitch to cheers from the Slytherin stands.

(Slytherin Captain and Chaser)

Nancy sneered at June and then flew over next to Ame, a wicked smirk on her face as she saw Ame with the quaffle. She flew beside her, in perfect unison as they made their way closer the the Gryffindor hoops. Nancy happily took the quaffle when it was handed off to her and she safely tucked it between her legs, her hands gripped tightly on her broom.

Her and her fellow chaser performed the sidekick serpent safety perfectly. Each of them mirroring each other, so there was no chance of the quaffle getting stolen.

Nancy's eyes grew a bit wide at the site of the circling bludger but steered her broom slightly to avoid getting hit by it. "What the heck?" She called out to Ame, a confused smile on her face. She shook her head and brought her focus back to the hoops they were heading for.

Just as they were not too far from the goals, Nancy looked to Ame and flew extremely close to her. "Here, take it," she told her and passed the quaffle back to her.

She continued to fly beside Ame, cheering her on as she went and shouted loudly as she made a goal for the Slytherin team. She flew up to her and gave her a high-five. "WHOOOO AME!"

(Gryffindor CHaser)

June widened her eyes in surprise. That certainly was an interesting move... And the Slytherins had gotten lucky with the hummingbird and that bludger. June, like many of her fellow team mates, had braked in surprise at Nancy's sudden halt. As she thought and waited for the quaffle to be released, June narrowed her eyes, sensing her competitiive streak begin to rise once more. The quaffle was released and June immediately dove for it. Unfortunately, a stupid interfering bludger decided to smash into the beloved red ball and the quaffle zoomed off into another direction. "Stupid," June muttered and winced as her knees ached once more as she changed direction. Her broom shot towards the quaffle and she snatched it out of the iair
