17th HOUSE QUIDDITCH MATCH: GRYFFINDOR V HUFFLEPUFF - MON 12

(Hufflepuff Beater)

:Marie walked on the Quidditch pitch, surprised to find it empty. She, who was always late, was now the first to get on the pitch? Wow, that was something new.

She jumped on her broom and quicked the ground. Since she was alone, she had all the pitch to practice... of course, her job was to hit bludgers, but she still could do it right, couldn't she?

After hitting a few bludgers though, she was begining to feel annoyed and bored.:

"Come on, where is everybody?" she muttered to herself.

(Gryffindor beater)

::Amy walked onto the pitch, to see Marie hitting bludgers with herself.

"How odd," she thought, "where is everyone?"

She hopped onto her new broom, that her fellow team and house mate, as well as distant relative WL had given her, and zoomed into the air.

She swung her beater's bat around, and hit back one of the bludgers Marie was practising with, sending it back towards the Hufflepuff.

What then ensued was a peculiar game of hit the bludger, whilst they waited for the rest of the teams to show up.

Ooh, Hit-The-Bludger...my favourite game!!!!!!!!!!

::WL joined the little group of beaters in the air and they all started a mini game of time bomb, wher if you missed hitting the bludger, you had to make it aroung the quidditch pitch twice before rejoining, while dodging the bludger that were mercilessly sent at you by the other two...

"Where is everyone? I can only account for swifty...she didn't get much sleep so she might be slightly late...she said something about a power nap..."

::Rip ran onto the pitch, clutching her broom. She seemed out of breath.::

"Sorry!" she shouted as she mounted her broom, "I had an exam. Only just finished."

::She quickly scanned the pitch for the quaffle, then saw it still lieing on the ground. She swooped down and picked it up. She imidiately sped off to the goal posts::

Hoorah! I can score without anyone tackling me!!!

::She did a loop-de-loop and scored ten pointes for Gryffindor. She did a loop=de-back-flip twist in celebration, then went to retreive the quaffle again from where it was lieing on the ground::

:coming early and maybe too early this time, flisan came walking in, her broom relaxes over her shoulder and looked up at marie who waved. for a moment she wondered how jenn, who is a fellow hufflepuff chaser, could be the commentator, but then she shrugged and kicked off the ground. the headmistress surely knew what she was doing.:

::Ooooh!!!!! Whoopee!! (sorry...I was watching a cartoon...long story)...Someone is here at last!!!

::WL shot a bludger at flisan in celebration...It wasn't hard and it was easily dodgable, just something to get her more alert for the blilliant upcoming match!::

::Becky had already scored, so WL teamed up with Duckie to protect her so she could score again after picking up the quaffle...(no huffie keeper = goal for gryffie!)::

::Rip picked up the quaffle and flew back to face the goal posts.She dodged a bludger that was randomly flying around, and scored again. This could get boring she thought, as she scored yet another goal. To entertain herself for bit, she threw the quaffle as hard as she could to the other end of the match. Immediately after the ball was released, she would zoom after the ball, and catch it. She then threw it back towards the goal posts, and again flew to catch it.hhhmmmm.....this is fuuun!!!

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny zoomed into action by flying straight up into the air and catching the Quaffle before Rip could catch it.::

"Sorry but a badger's gotta do what a badger's gotta do!" ::she yelled before flying off in the direction of the Gryffindor goalposts. Her red hair whipped around her face as she carried the Quaffle closer...and closer...when at last she had reached the post, she took no time tossing it through the hoop. Ginny giggled and pumped her fist into the air.::

"Woohoo yay for Hufflepuff!" ::She quickly retrievevd the Quaffle once more, and sent it to Flissy, who caught it with ease.::

"Come on Flis! Let's show 'em how it's done!"

(Gryff keeper)

::Swift trundled sleepily onto the pitch - the 18 hour day she had and the 4 hours sleep she had had (so many had's in there...) made her anything but better from her awful cold. At least, that's what people were telling her it was, and it sure seemed like it during exams. However, even sleep - or lack thereof - wasn't going to let her Gryffindor spirit down, and as Keeper, she had to be as alert as she could be!

She flew up to the Gryffie posts, keeping her eyes on the Quaffle, which was in need of putting back into play as Ginny had just scored. Catching hold of it, she brought her arm back and tossed it towards Becky, who took it back into the field, careful to keep it close to her body.::

"Come on Gryffies!!"

"Yo Swifters! I think you should take a pepper up potion, it might make you feel better!" Rip quickly tossed a small vial of pepper up potion to Swifters, then clutching the red ball to her side, started dodging the obstacles ahead::

::She dodged a bludger, a chaser, another bludger (or was it the same one?), a beater's bat, yet another bludger, another chaser and eh?? ANOTHER BLUDGER?!?!? How many bludgers are on the pitch!!::

::She reached the goal posts, and because there was no goal keeper yet, scored another goal::

"Whoop! Whoop!".

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

"Whoa there! Not so fast!" ::She said, putting on a huge burst of speed to help her reclaim the Quaffle. The red head flew directly at Swifty, eyes intent upon the goal behind her.::

"Look out mum!" ::Ginny cried as she flew over Swifty and threw the ball diagonally down and through the hoop::

"Sorry if I scared ya, mum!" ::She said as she flew over to "guard" Rip and make sure that the Quaffle wouldn't reach her::

(Hufflepuff Chaser AND Commentator?? lol)

::Jen rushes out to the field. "I'm slightly late for the commentator and a chaser but I could do it!" she muttered under her breath in a determined tone. Jumping onto the podium, she grabbed the microphone and smiled at the crowd.::

"Hello everyone and welcome to the, well there's been so many that I don't even remember, Quidditch match of the season! But surely this will be a memerable one for everyone! Many of the players from each team has already started the game! So far it's only the first day and the score is 20:30 with Gryffindor in the lead! The bludgers are swiftly being thrown by the Beaters to make this a vicious and bloo- I mean interesting game."

::Jen sat back and kicked up her heels on the podium to watch the game. Her captain, Ginny flew past and gave her a dirty look.::

"Oh, right, er, sorry." she summoned her broomstick from the lockerroom and kicked up her heels to join the game. She caught the quaffle that was thrown into the air and ducked her head as a bludger came tearing across her head. "Geez, these Gryffindors mean business." she muttered to herself.::

::Taking quick actions, she quickly threw the quaffle toward her team captain Ginny. She then flew back to the podium and crashed into elfie. "Sorry Elfie!" she cried cheerfully. "Okay folks and now it's Ginny with the Quaffle which was passed to her by the wonderfully talented, fun, smart, beautiful, *wink* and single (yet only on this site) Jen!::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::With her masterful skills at hand-eye coordination, Ginny caught the Quaffle. She then flew near by Jenn and whispered in her ear.::

"Wanna try the badger boomerang move? It's your turn to get thrown." ::Ginny said with a grin as she hovered near Jenn, her eyes darting around for bludgers or foreign players.::

(Gryffindor Beater)

"Oooooh! Badger Boomerang? That wouldn't happen to be where you throw the quaffle, and it comes back to you and you throw it again, would it? If so, then guess what?! I can do that with a Bludger!!!!"

::WL demonstrates this by lifting her bat, tying a nicked pair of tights across the end and whacking the bludger with all her might. To her playful satisfaction, The Bludger Boomerang move worked perfectly...It hit Jenn square of the nose and came back to WL again, only to be hit at Ginny, sending her in WL's famous Catherine Wheelie.::

::Unfortunately for the huffies, Ginny lost the quaffle in the spin and amazingly, as though it had a mind of its own (and it didn't because WL had NOT jinxed it this time) it flew into one of the unguarded huffie hoops, A GOAL FOR THE GRYFFIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Commentator)

"Illegal foul on the commentator!" Jen called out. As she cast a spell to stop the bleeding, Jen once again hopped on her broom stick and caught the quaffle on a rebound. She flew up to Ginny and smirked at WL. "I learned how to smirk from Lilyflower! (lol)" she said with a grin. "And that was soo not the Pufferang move." With a roll of her eyes, Jen held onto the quaffle tightly with one arm against her chest and rolled herself into a ball on a stick. Wincing slightly, because this was her first time trying this move, she held out her right arm.::

::Ginny grasped her arm and started swinging her in swift circles. Suddenly as Jen flew through the air, she saw the Gryyfindor hoops coming her way. Knowing she was supposed to let go of the quaffle and made a goal, her body seemed in froze in fear. Not knowing what else to do, she kept herself in a ball and yelled a warning toward the keeper to get out of the way.::

::Flying straight through the center hoop with the quaffle still tightly in her arms, she rebound off the fence and landed on a heap on the ground.::

"Owwww," Jen muttered as she limped back to the commentator's stand. "Playing double roles is alot harder then it sounds! And now I'm seeing two."

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny flew down and helped her fellow Chaser up off the ground.::

"Brilliant moves Jenn, we'll get WL for that bludger..." ::she said with a broad grin. The red head snatched up the Quaffle and flew up to the Gryffindor goal posts. Ginny placed the Quaffle delicately in between her shin and foot. Spinning backwards, she released the Quaffle and sent it gracefully through the right goal hoop of the Gryffindors. Her brown eyes sparkling, Ginny let out a whoop and did a loop di loop.::

"BADGERS NEVER SAY DIE!"

(Gryffindor Beater)

"OK that was a foul, since you're not allowed to go through the hoops with the quaffle...you're supposed to throw it...it's called either stooging or haversacking...either way...tis not allowed so its a penalty to gryffindor!!!"

::WL sticks her tongue out and thinks, (It's only a game of quidditch...why do you feel the need to get back at me? And it's not like I'm supposed to NOT hurt you! Tchuh!)

::She told the scorer not to count those two goals because they were unfair and Gryffies never got their penalty shot, and looked around for a chaser.::

::Nowhere to be found, she huffed and used her beater Priviledges (a bat) and took the shot herself. As the umpire threw the quaffle at her, WL tok a great swing at the bludger and smacked it with a great twang right at the quaffle, rebounding it past the non existent keeper and through the goal. Then, becky zoomed onto the pitch and took it from there! What a fouled five minutes!

Wow...I never thought huffies would ever foul that much!

::Swift watched in shock as Jenn fell to the ground... but she'd be okay, so the penalty that the Gryffindors needed to take could be taken without much hassle. Although WHY WL was taking it... meh. There were more serious things to think about.

Ginny had once again scored, and it wasn't that Swift was being lenient on her because she was her daughter. It was, Swift thought to herself, time to defend those goals against anyone, and that meant anyone!::

::After hitting yet another bludger away from their very own Gryffindor Seeker, WL turned around in midair, only to see the quaffle streaking towards the goal post. Swifty was paying attention to the other bludger that was making its roundabout way to her, so she hadn't seen it yet.::

"SWIFT!!!! LOOK AT THE QUAFFLE!!!!! LEAVE THE BLUDGER TO ME!!!!!"

::WL flew her Excalibur 3000 to its 200 miles accelleration in 3 seconds limit and backhanded the bludger away from swifty, straining her left arm muscles in the process.::

::She turned, massaging her arm, to see how swifty had saved the quaffle...::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Unbeknownst to WL, the bludger that she had hit swung around and went sailing towards Rip!

"Look out Bex!" Amy shouted, and followed the path of the bludger.

Thankfully, she was able to hit it out of the way and send it sailing into the path of Ginny.::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::WL gasped as she realised where she had hit it, by mistake. She apologised sheepishly and was about to hit herself on her head when she had a though,

(THAT is not a good idea. In fact, it is a bad idea. Stop.)

So she stopped andflew in vague search of more bludgers. Really, just two per game was not enough...in practises, they used a few more to make it funner and get more practise...::

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Commentator)

"Okay it was a foul on Hufflepuff's behalf for Haversacking which was taken by WaterLiLy from Gryffindor!" announced Jen from the commentator's stand with a grimace. "Although it was out of fear to let go Ginny!" She spluttered her excuses so her captain wouldn't make her write lines on the rules and fouls of quidditch again.::

(We never intentionally were out to get you WL, but I didn't think it was fair that you smacked me when I clearly said I went back to the commentator's stand to commentate next to Elfie instead of contyinueing the game. This double role as chaser and commentator is getting too complicated! LoL)

::Jen, once again, hopped on her brromstick and flew up to continue the game. She changed the name on her robe to say Chaser instead of Commentator. Seeing the bludger zoom toward her captain she let out a shrill whistle. (Sorry people if I deafened you) Her captain did the Badger Hide and narrowly missed the accurate bludger that would have knocked her off her broom otherwise.::

"Now where is that quaffle?" she muttered to herself as she scanned the field. Seeing Madam Hooch toss the quaffle into the air once more, Jen snagged it with her left arm and tucked it under her arm. Dodging bludgers and other various players blocking her, she looped around the goal posts three times and scored in the left goal hoop.::

"No fouls for that one right?" Jen asked anxiously to herself as she looked at everyone else.::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny grumbled when they got called on a foul and the fact that her goal wouldn't count. She just rolled her eyes at Jenn with a laugh.::

"It's okay Jenn. Now let's try and get this game back!" ::Ginny snatched the Quaffle and mouthed the words "Huffle Puff A Boo" to Jenn, as she "handed" the Quaffle to Jenn.::

"Catch us if you can Gryffies!" ::The red head called out, doing a rotation pattern with Jenn so that one moment she was to the right of Jenn, and then she wasn't, and so forth. When the pair had at least reached the goals, Ginny veered away from Jenn and quickly scored.::

"Sorry mum!" ::she called out to Swifty.::

(Hmmm, Ginny seems to be making a few too many goals this time...I need to take her out...how about another Catherine Wheelie and a Flipper...yeah that would work...)

::WL smacked the tail end of Ginny's broom- with a bludger of course- just as she was celebrating a huffie goal and sent her head first into a Wheelie, clutching desperately onto her broom.

When the moment was right, WL, who had recieved the rebound of that bludger, aimed it precisely under the broom and let it go so that it hit the front of it and sent Ginny catapulting off the back of it in somersaults. She landed slap bang in the commentators box and had to take a few precious minutes to regain her bearings from her multiple spinning actions, during which Becky had scored a fantastic few goals!!!

:Marie sighed and rolled her eyes. She was flying around the Quidditch Pitch, trying to find a bludger, but it seemed as if WL was too busy sending them toward anybody she saw.

Finally, she noticed that a bludger seemed to be coming her way. Marie concentrated on the bludger and hit it as hard as she could toward the Gryffindor beater. If it was the only way to help her team, then she probably had to do it. The bludger made contact with WL's broom, making her dive to the ground and collide with it, though not too hard because a few second later she was back on her feet. But at least, that would give time to her team mate to score a bit more.:

::WL saw the bludger coming towards her and tried to attempt a fancy move where she was supposed to hit it away with the tail end of her broom while looking as though she was falling, but unfortunately, she really did fall and once she'd righted herself, she saw that huffies were very close to scoring another goal.

Quickly she sought out the bludger that hit her and made a shield so that the hufflepuff chasers could not penetrate and swifty could safely tackle the quaffle and send it back to the gryffie chasers::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny woozily got up from the ground and apologized to everyone she had hit. She then attempted to jump back on her broom to get back in the game. ::

"OW!" ::The red head landed in a heap of rumbled robes, having missed the broom entirely. Her brown eyes appeared crossed, and she looked quite comical-if it wasn't for the fact that she was really dizzy.::

"All right young lady, open up and drink this." ::The badger captain felt something hot and peppery slide down her throat, causing her mouth to burn. Madam Pomfrey had bustled over and forcedrank her a glass of Pepper Up potion. After Ginny's initial feelings of nausea and wanting to kill the nurse, she felt loads better.::

"Thanks Madam P!" ::she called out, leaping onto her broom and soaring back onto the pitch, a new energy and spark in her game. The red head caught the Quaffle with ease, and zoomed over to Flissy.::

"Hey there Fliss, fancy a Huffle Hammock?" ::Ginny asked with a grin, extending her hand with the Quaffle in it for her to put her hand on.::

:flisan flew up besides Ginny and put her hand on the other side of the quaffle, so that they were now both holding it, pushing it together slightly. They nodded at each other, pulled their arms back and threw the quaffle towards the goalposts. Due to the nature of the "hufflepuff Hammock" the quaffle was spinning left and right while flying before finally flying through the left goal post.

"Score!" Flisan shouted and hugged ginny happily

::Jen flew over to her teammates, "Hey! Don't forget me!" she yelled as she gave them a hug too. She flew underneath Flisan and catch the quaffle thrown into the air. Taking a deep breath, she flew toward the goalpost, dodging occasional bludgers and opposing players. As she almost reached the goals, she pulled her broomstick completely horizantal and draped herself on her broom. Spinning quickly, she did the BADger Drill (capitalized BAD on purpose lol) and "drilled" toward the keeper. At the last moment she pulled her broomstick down and tossed the quaffle to her teammates who was waiting below her.::

::Getting annoyed at the Hufflepuff chasers, WL started another boomerang move, taking out each chaser one by one and trying to push their brooms away so they wouldn't get them back without a fight. Seeing how much fun the Bludger Boomerang was, Duckie started to join in and together, they played a game of Make Hufflepuff Chasers Chase their brooms...such fun!!!::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Grabbing her broomstick firmly underneath her, she dodged another bludger and flew below the field. With the game overhead, she saw Flisan drop the quaffle from the attack by the bludgers and dove out to grab the quaffle. Seeing that everyone was distracted by the bludger attack, she slowly drifted over to the Gryffindor goalpost from below, almost skimming her toes on the grass but not quite. She then kicked up her heels and zoomed upward, tossing the quaffle in the left goal hoop as she went up. Another goal!::

(Hufflepuff beater)

:Marie quickly flew in front of her team mate and started hiting back the bludger to WL and Duckie as soon as they came toward them. Finally, she decided that it would be easier to send it away, which she did. With a firm grip on her bat, she waited to WL to send another bludger at them and hit them both, as they came, as far as she could, on the other side of the Quidditch Pitch.

Marie gave her team mates a thumb up:

"There, the bludgers will be gone for a while, hurry though before they come back. Should a while anyway, I can't seem them anymore."

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny scooped up the Quaffle and decided to try re-doing her badger kick. She placed the ball between the knook of her foot and shin, did the backwards spiral and sent it flying.::

"Come on baby dont let me down!" ::Ginny cried after the Quaffle, watching with a big smile as she saw it soar through the right goal. She called Flissy and Jenn in towards her and whispered.::

"Okay, we should try a hawkshead formation with a twist. Flissy I want you in the center, I'll go on the right, Jenn in the left. I'll start out with the Quaffle and then pass it to Flissy, who passes it to Jenn who goes back to Fliss. Don't hold it for too long, at my signal whoever has it throws it, okay?"::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

Jenn nodded and flew on Flisan's left. "Wait her left or my left? Who's left?" she joked as she tok her position and guarded Flisan who was with the quaffle in the center. Together they all flew toward the goal post in their formation. Jen kept scanning the field for any sign of attack. Although the bludgers were gone for now, she still wanted to stay on her guard. She would guard Flisan and the quaffle with her life..okay maybe not her life...but she's break a fingernail for this goal. *lol*::

::WL realised that Flissy was the centre of this formation so she and duckie rounded up both bludgers and unknown to the chasers, flew underneath them stealthily...

Ironically, At Ginny's signal, WL and Duckie let rip the two bludgers so they collided with Flis, who had the quaffle, and duck managed to dominoe both Jenn and Ginny in one fell sweep, sending the quaffle safely into swifty's arms for a goal kic-oops throw...(football's in my head now tchuh!)

WL smacked bats with duckie and soared away to get the rebounded bludger. The Lion Prowl really worked well!::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Jen decided that there was no time like the present to score another goal. She kicked up her heels and once again did the "BADger Drill" with her broom and aimed toward swifty with the quaffle. Startleing her enough to drop the ball, Jen swooped underneath swift and catch the falling quaffle with her left arm. Swifty flying in tight figure eights around WL and duck, casing them to throw the bludgers in completely opposite directions, Jen flew toward the Gryffindor hoops and scored a goal! The quaffle hit the pole behind the hoop and flew in a semi circle above the field. Jen quickly flew back over and whipped her broomstick around, causing the end of her broom to "kick" the quaffle in the goal for a second time!::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

::Ginny had nearly panicked when Flis had been hit by the two bludgers, back thankfully Jenn had managed to regain the Quaffle-and score two goals!::

"ALL RIGHT JENN! THATS MY BADGER GIRL!!" ::She cried out, bouncing around on her broom like some crazed sugar high teenager. The red head managed to regain control off the Quaffle somehow-and didn't drop it once!- and set off at top speed towards the Gryffindor goals. A bludger came flying towards her-no doubt sent my WL, that girl had aim, and her brown eyes widened in fear as she didn't think she could dodge it.::

"Uh oh, think think...." ::Ginny mumbled to herself, then, when she saw the bludger suddenly come closer, she screamed and jumped off her broom. The bludger zoomed away harmlessly. She scrambled to pull herself back onto her broom, and after a moment, she did.::

"Woo, that was close. Here I come mum! Hey that kinda rhymed." ::The Hufflepuff said to herself with a slight grin as she tossed the Quaffle lightly through the center goal.::

::WL smirked slightly as she heard what Ginny just said...

"Why thanks Gin-Gin! Aim is my speciality!!!"

::WL rolls around upside down on her broom and hits a bludger right at Ginny before she could score again. And hitting while upside down was not as easy as it looked...WL did it marvelously and simply waved at Swifty's cry of "Quit showing off!!!"...After all, it wasn't often there was a chance for showing off...this was one of them!!
