| here are some i found:
On page 232 it reads, "Moody had insisted on putting Harry through his paces four times in a row, until Harry could throw off the curse entirely," referring to the Imperius Curse. However, on page 661 it says, "And Harry felt, for the third time in his life, the sensation that his mind had been wiped of all thought..." Wouldn't that be the fifth time instead of the third?
page 505, Krum tells Hermione that she has a beetle in her hair, "but Hermione brushed away the beetle impatiently." In Chapter 37 on the train after she had captured Rita Skeeter, Hermione says, "and Viktor pulled a beetle out of my hair..." Hermione says Viktor pulled the beetle out, yet the book says that she brushed it away
apparently on page 705 in the US paperback edition, Fudge says, "You are prepared to believe that Lord Voldemort has returned, on the word of a lunatic murderer, and a boy who...well..." Shouldn't he have said "You-Know-Who" or "He Who Must Not Be Named" like he usually does?

| Another one is when Cedric is killed. It says that Harry's scar explaoded with pain and he fell to his knees with his eyes closed, or somthing like that. He then heard "kill the spare" and only saw green light flash through his eye-lids. He didn't actually see Cedric die. So, in theory he wouldn't be able to see the thestrals is book 5, until Sirius died. | |

| ~On page 23 of the American version of Goblet of Fire, when Harry is writing to Sirius about the pain in his scar, it says he was "marveling at the fact that he hadn't thought of Sirius straight away. But then, perhaps it wasn't so surprising -- after all, he had only found out that Sirius was his godfather two months ago." Harry actually found out Sirius was his godfather about eight months before, on that day in the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade.
~On the bottom of page 148 in the US edition, it states that Ron, Harry, and Hermione had entered Ron's room, which is here called the "attic room." However, on page 154, it states at the bottom that one of the sounds that could be heard from Ron's room was the ghoul "in the attic." How, then, could Ron's room be considered the attic room, when there is a ghoul living above that room in "the attic"?

| Also, Sirius tells the trio that Snape hung around with the Lestranges at school (Bella and Rodolphus) but on the faily tree which JKR did it states that Bella was born in 1951, would that not make her 20 when Snape went to Hogwarts, i know students get held back a bit but i can not see it, she seems extreely clever to me, mad but clever, but Rodolphus included? And since Lucius Malfoy was born in 1954, he would have in attendance at Hogwarts also, wouldnt it have been more convincing to have Lucius one of Snapes friends at school then the Lestranges? | |

Actually, Sirius says "You three and Dumbledore are the only people around here who know I'm an Animagi". So, this is not a mistake b/c Lupin and Peter Pettigrew are not in the area of Hogmsmede villiage, and Snape doesn't find out until after Harry returns from seeing Voldemort rise again when Sirius reveals himself to Snape and Molly Weasley in the hospital wing. In the 'Prisoner of Azkaban', Snape shows up in the Shrieking Shack after Sirius returns to human form, and then Snape is unconscious when Sirius morphs into Snuffles. By the time Snape wakes up, Sirius, after being attacked by the dementors, has taken on human form again.

My thought was that he should have seen them when the carriages picked them up in front of the school at the end of GoF. But really, why hasn't he always seen them? I read somewhere an explanation JK gave for this, as to why Harry couldn't see the threstrals from the get go even though his mother was murdered in front of him at the age of 1. JK explained that away. But now I don't understand why Harry doesn't see them at the end of GoF since Cedric's death is the one that is supposed to "count". So then, if he didn't see them as a second year b/c he didn't actually see his mother die, then yes, he shouldn't see them until after Sirius dies because otherwise he should see them when the carriages pull up in front of the school to take them to the train. This is one of the few inconsistences to bother me, ever, out of all the books, movies, and television shows that have entertained me over my years.
