Seven Wonders of the Wizarding World

Queerditch Marsh – The queerditch marsh is named one of the Seven Wonders of the World mostly for its tourist attractions. The queerditch marsh is the place where the first quidditch match was ever played. For young witches and wizards who have an interest in quidditch this is the perfect place for them to go and see. The place is set in a well hidden place. The place has been given the utter wow factor not only for its history and meaning but for the fact that when you go there are so many quidditch loving people there that a fast action packed game will always be on and anyone can join in.

Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry – This place is a school and home to many young witches and wizards but has been voted one of the seven wonders of the wizarding world for each time someone goes to see the building they will always go wow. Even after completing magical education there and returning the amazement on peoples face will never go. The building also has much historical factors to it and every brick on its wall is a resemblance of each witch or wizard that has ever had magical education there. Hogwarts is actually the name of some lilies and these flowers can be found in the Hogwarts grounds. Hogwarts is one of the largest buildings in Britain and the largest wizarding school.

Dragon Research Centre, Romania – Dragons are well known though out both the wizarding world and the muggle world but the fact is most of the wizards and witches amongst us have only ever seen pictures of dragons. To go and see the dragons in Romania is a once in a life time experience. Though there are some dangers in going to Romania to see the dragons you cannot image the look on people’s faces as they see young and old dragons flying through the air above them. Imagine being only feet away from dragons. The adrenaline rush it would give you. This has been voted one of the Seven Wonders of the World as it is a true once in a life time experience and once you have been to Romania to see the dragons it is sure that you would want to go again.

Egypt – Egypt has been voted one of the wonders of the world for both the muggle and wizarding world. The sights are bound to make any person magical or non-magical owe in delight. These like many other places hold many historical facts about our pasts. Egyptian wizards put curses on tombs; nowadays curse-breakers for Gringotts try to regain the treasure locked in those tombs, one pyramid has mutant skeletons of Muggles who'd broken in and "grown extra heads and stuff." Magic is integrated into society and Wizards are held in high esteem. Everyone always talks about how these tombs are supposed to be magical but imagine actually going into one? To visit Egypt is bound to make anyone’s jaw drop.

The graves of the four founders – For many people across the world it is always an amazing experience to visit the graves of Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw. To think you are stood at the places where these outstanding witches and wizards were laid to rest. This place has attract many people including those from other countries as the four founders of Hogwarts and not only symbolic to the students which attend there magnificent school.

Cast Ally, USA – Cast Ally is the biggest wizarding shopping centre in the whole world. It attracts many people and is usually used for long term stays. Upon first approaching it, it does not look like much but once stepping from a small bar in New York, America it can be one of the most beautiful sights of the world. With a mixture of old and new it has a classy yet welcoming feeling to it. For any trades man Cast Ally would be the place to go. With its beauty and feelings there is also many different people dancing, singing and entertaining the shoppers. It is a guarantee that you will not want to go home. Though I think your bank account would not agree with staying there. As there is something for everyone.

Ministry of Magic, Peru – The ministry of magic located in Peru is named the most beautiful of the entire ministry across the world. The building was once a historical temple used by many famous people. For the workers at the ministry there the place will become just another beauty of there area but to many other wizards it is a place they will travel far and wide to see. In fact a wizard named Samson Sandlemarsch committed many crimes in the hope he would be taken to Peru for a hearing. Sadly his wish did not come true but he did eventually manage to get enough money to go visit there. The building has such beautiful, intricate carvings upon it, it will make you squee in delight.

Seven Wonders of the Wizarding World

http://wonderclub.com/AllWorldWonders.html

You must submit 7 wonders and give a breif history of each. This class only requires your imagination, and the more creativity you pour in the more you will be rewarded!

1. Avalon:
Muggles think of Avalon as the place where ‘magic was born’. In a way, they are not far from the truth. The first recorded spell was cast on the Isle of Avalon, and the first wand was made from the wood of an Avalonian apple tree-for which Avalon is famous. It is also the ‘burial’ place of King Arthur (it is said that in reality, he was given ‘The Draught of Living Death’ and will be given its antidote when the time is right), and located somewhere beyond the misty valleys and dark forests is the castle of Morgan LeFaye, Arthur’s half sister, witch, and animagus. Many magical creatures inhabit this island, but it is very difficult to find.

2. Atlantis:
While it is thought to be lost beneath the sea, in reality the City of Atlantis is simply unplottable. Although it has thought to have been abandoned for many years now, the culture of the merpeople who once lived there can still be seen in its beautiful castles, art work, and other relics left behind. The actual ‘Fountain of Youth’ is found in an underground grotto in a chamber of the castle of Atlantis. It is this fountain that kept the merpeople that once lived there alive for many years. These merpeople still live, but they have retreated to hidden caverns that twist and turn-no human can navigate them for very long without getting lost and needing to leave immediately.

3. Mt. Olympus:
The mythology of the Greeks often spoke of mythical beings, ‘Gods’ that controlled their fate. In reality, these gods were Greek wizards that used their magic to their advantage. They would cast an atmosphere charm over one farm in exchange for ‘offerings’ such as food, money, and other priceless goods. It is on Mt. Olympus that these people lived-they built a palace there, which is filled with many early magical inventions such as the TimeTurner and the Portkey. It is perfectly preserved, and the entire mountain has been hit with anti-Muggle charms, making it impossible for muggles today to find.

4. Stonehenge:
Stonehenge is the only Wonder if the Magical World that muggles have come close to counting as one of their own. Built by early British wizards using levitation and feather light charms, the stones were arranged in an ancient Celtic rune symbol that has been lost to mugglekind. Stonehenge was used for many things-the study of the planets, the sacrificing of animals, development of charms, divining the future, examining plants, potion brewing, and many other magical advancement. It was revised and rebuilt many times due to the damages that occurred from experiments gone wrong.

5. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:
Probably the best establishment for the education of young wizards and witches in the world, Hogwarts is more than a school. It was built in the Middle Ages using magic-like Stonehenge-by its Four Founders-Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin. Unplottable and charmed so that muggles only see a ruin and not the actual castle, it houses many interesting rooms and passages, such as a trapdoor on the third floor that leads all the way down into another corridor with seven rooms. This was used in the guarding of the fabled Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone. It is also said to be the location of the Chamber of Secrets, but that has yet to be definitively confirmed. There are also numerous passageways to various places out of and around the grounds. One leads from the infamous Whomping Willow to the Shrieking Shack, another inside the school leads to the cellar of Honeyduke’s, and a third from the Hogs’ Head into the Room of Requirement. Hogwarts is also in possession of one of the ‘Vanishing Cabinets’. One person can enter the cabinet and reappear inside its counterpart-wherever the counterpart is. The Room of Requirement or ‘Come and Go’ Room is a magical room that outfits itself with whatever the person who walks by it thrice wants. Hogwarts also has many other secrets-some that even the most learned wizard, Albus Dumbledore, could not discover.

6. The Veil:
One of the more recent additions to the ‘Wonders of the Wizarding World’ list is the Veil, located in the British Ministry of Magic, specifically the Department of Mysteries. It is said to be used to study ‘death’, as it is the portal between the world of the dead and of the living. The origin of the veil is uncertain, perhaps it is an experiment gone wrong, perhaps it was built as the wizarding method of the death sentence. Sirius Black fell through this Veil in 1985, and because he was not under any special charms to keep him tethered to the world of the living, he was killed instantly upon entering the Veil.

7.The Bermuda Triangle:
Not so much as a ‘wonder’ as an ‘enigma’, the Bermuda Triangle puzzles wizards to this day. The Triangle is the location of a cataclysmic event that left a massive excess of ‘used magic’ imprinting on its location. If there was ever any actual land there, it was destroyed in this mysterious disaster. The magic that has been ‘left behind’ runs wild, casting all sorts of spells, hexes, and charms all on its own. One of the Triangle’s favorite pranks is to cast invisibility and banishing charms on wizards and muggles that cross its boundary lines. The invisibility charms usually wear off after a year, and the banishing charms have a habit of sending the unfortunate person to Guam. Other than that, with the proper precautions the Triangle is indeed one of the Wizarding and Muggle World’s most interesting places.

This assignment is worth up to 50 housepoints.

Seven Wonders of the Wizarding World Empty

The Seven Wonders Of the Wizarding world:

Juniper,Nevada USA This city is know only to the wizarding world, but in short it's just like area 51. Where wizards test on artifacts to complicated for the mere muggle mind to understand. The consept of "giant green beings" or aliens as we know of course is true. However the green monsters are olny wizards in their protective uniforms. A wonder in the simple fact that its the largest area hidden from muggles.

Tosay, Russia One of the few sites in Russia with a tall denoted statue to wizard kind, the statue of a man riding on the back of a Dragon, stands tall in the center of Tosay. In height the statue has a 10 foot base, and a 40 foot heighth from the base to the tip of the Dragon's spurtting fire. It is about 35 feet wide. Wizards believe that Kristan Kenovich Lousa was the wizard who constructed it. A wonder due to the large statue.

Sefloat An island off the coast of Italy, home to a rare kind of pixie. The Jostle Pixie, or more known as the Jester Fairy. The island is completly unknown to muggles and can only be seen if the beholder is carrying a wand. The island is about half the width of a football field but is colorful and a truely amazing sight to see when you come over the top of the horizon. The amazing concoffany of colors, is what makes this island a true wonder.

Halfawe The largest of wizarding battles took place in Halfawe, it was between the Gryffindors and the Slytherin Families, far before Hogwarts was even founded, in fact before Godric and Salazar were even thought of! The ground of Halfawe is scorched black and in the center of the large battlefield there once was a sword stuck in the stone. When Godric Gryffindor was eight years old his father took him to the battlefield to see the scorch mark and the sword, his father encouraged him to tug out the sword that was goblin made. Godric simply tugged once and pulled out the blade. The battle is where muggles got the idea of "King Arthur".

Raiso An obylisk in ancient egypt, muggle scientist have yet to discover it's meaning, but to us magical beings the meaning is very simple. The obylisk is covered in ancient spells and potions. It stands an amazing 78 feet tall and is completly black. This giant black blob makes its way into the wonders because it is the first acount of writting down spells.

Plinka A Giant Stage in the mountains of Greece, when magical contact hit this place for the first time the whole stadium erupted in a brillant show of colors. Music could be heard almost faintly in the distance, ufortunately this has become one of the largest tourist attractions. Every seven minutes a wizarding guide will point his or her wand at the center of the stage and music and colors will play across the ancient tile.

Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry Some say its a home, others say an educational Prison. But the wizard wide world records says it's one of the seven wonders of the wizarding world. The School made it into the wonders two years ago, when it reached the all time school record of 82 million students to graduate from a single facitily.

Muggles have their seven natural wonders of the world, their seven wonders of the ancient world, and their seven man-made wonders of the world, etc.
http://wonderclub.com/AllWorldWonders.html

For this class I want you to dream up Seven Wonders of the Wizarding World. What sort of things might make even a witch or wizard gasp in awe? You must submit 7 wonders and give a breif history of each. This class only requires your imagination, and the more creativity you pour in the more you will be rewarded!

1) Hogwarts
This school was founded by four founders by the name of Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin and Helga Hufflepuff. At Hogwarts each of the students who are allowed to attend are sorted into one of four house by a sorting house. The qualities each member must have in order to be in that house was determined by the founders who created the hat that determines this. Once the students are sorted they then go to classes and participate in qudditch or any numerous other clubs where they can end up earing house points for their house. Whoever has the most house points in the end will win the house cup.

The school has many spells placed on and around it. One of these spells is a spell to lure muggles away from the school. Another is to prevent witches and wizard from apperating or disappearting form the school.

2) Hogsmeade
It was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft as he was running away from muggles. Hogsmeade is the perfect place for magical beings to go to without the fear of running into a muggle. It is a village with many shops that witches and wizards are able to run and make profit other than Diagon Alley. Every now and then students from Hogwarts are able to go and visit this place. Running through the village is the Hogwarts Express, this is where the students are dropped off and they then make their way up to the castle.

3) Diagon Alley
Located in a secret passageway behind the Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley is a street that is filled with stores where students and other customers can find a place to buy their everyday needs. There is just about everything here that many witches and wizards from all over the world come and buy. There are owls, potion ingredients, bank, and much, much more.

4) Ministry of Magic
Located several feet underground, the Ministry is a place where the laws are made and justice is served. There are many different levels here each with a set of departments that are in charge of different things. Altogether there are ten levels, a Atrium and a visitor’s entrance. In the Atrium there is the statue of The Fountain of Magical Brethren.

5) Drumstang
Drumstang is another wizardry school in Europe but it is not as big as Hogwarts. It is much farther North because the student’s uniforms are made of fur to keep them warm. This school is know for teaching more about the Dark Arts than any other school and they will not allow any student who is a muggle born to submit.

6) Bueaxtons
Another wizard school in Europe, Bueaxtons is in France which is south of Hogwarts. Their uniforms are made silk because the climate there is much warmer so they do not need to wear that heavy of clothing. Their coat of arms are two crossed golden wands with each one making three stars protruding from their tips.

7) Godric’s Hallow
It is the birthplace of Godric Gryffindor and home to many other famous witches and wizards. This was the place where Harry Potter and Voldemort met when Harry was just a baby and got rid of the Dark Lord for so many years. It is in southweastern England and has a graveyard with many famous witches and wizards that where buried there.

2) Village of Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the only settlement in Britain inhabited solely by magical beings, and is located to the north-west of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Students of Hogwarts who are in their third year and above are permitted to visit Hogsmeade during scheduled visits, as long as they have a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian. It's a nice place to visit with your family and have some nice fun. Even Dumbledore himself who is a great wizard visits Hogsmeade sometimes.
All the locations in Hogsmeade are:
-The Three Broomsticks
-Zonko's Joke Shop
-Hogsmeade Station
-The Hog's Head
-Dervish and Banges
-Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop
-Gladrags Wizardwear
-Madam Puddifoot's
-Honeydukes Sweetshop
-Post Office
-Shrieking Shack

3) Azkaban
Wizard Prison located in the middle of the North Sea. Wizards who violate the laws of the wizarding world are sent there. Only one other such prison; Nurmengard, is known to exist. Azkaban is guarded by the Dementors, working under the Ministry of Magic. Generally, only very severe crimes are punished with a term in Azkaban. Many of the prisoners were supporters of Lord Voldemort. The large presence of Dementors renders the inmates incapable of happiness and forces them to relive their worst memories, as they become gradually helpless and often severely insane. Many inmates simply stop eating and eventually die of starvation. Tourists would be able to see the cells of some great wizards, sure they are mean and bad but you can't deny they are good. 4) Godric's Hollow
With Hogsmeade established as the only remaining all-magical community in Great Britain, Godric's Hollow has a Muggle population. Godric's Hollow was the final hiding place of James and Lily Potter prior to being murdered by Lord Voldemort on 31 October 1981. It was at this same time that their son, Harry, was left with his lightning bolt-shaped scar.Godric's Hollow was the home of James Potter's family, and the home of long-dead Hogwarts founder Godric Gryffindor. Godric's Hollow's cemetery is the resting place for many personalities, the most famous being Ignotus Peverell, Lily & James Potter and Kendra & Ariana Dumbledore. Meaning that you can visit the place and actually see the graves of all this people. And of course the famous house where Harry Potter, the boy who lived, used to live before his parents were killed.

4) Ministry of Magic
A governing body that oversees the magical community of the United Kingdom; it is the successor organization in the UK to the earlier Wizards' Council, though other countries have their own ministries of magic. To enter the ministry via the Visitors Entrance, one must dial the number 62442 (which can spell out the word "MAGIC" using text-keys) into a specific public telephone and state one's name and reason for entering. Passes are then issued (apparently through a magical system) and the telephone box then descends through the ground into the ministry's lobby in Floor B8. It has 0 levels or floors, and more than twenty service lifts stop at all floors between B1 and B9, inclusive. Stairways may provide access to all ten levels in the ministry. They must be used to access the courtrooms on floor B10. It has so many places and levels to visit the tourists won't finish it all in one day. Seven Wonders of the Wizarding World 436937

5) Number 12, Grimmauld Place
Number 12, Grimmauld Place is a Georgian terraced house. Number 12 houses the Black family tree on a wall tapestry, and an enchanted portrait of Walburga Black, Sirius Black's mother. An ancient and deeply mad house-elf named Kreacher is loyal to the portrait of Mrs. Black. There are other portraits of members of the Black family, including Phineas Nigellus Black, one-time Head of the Black family and least-popular Headmaster of Hogwarts. The staircase is lined with the heads of beheaded former house-elves, which are mounted onto the walls. Many security measures are in place at Grimmauld Place. It is disguised from Muggles and other interlopers; the neighbours had long ago come to terms with the fact that the houses on their street went straight from 11 to 13. It is as secure as any magical dwelling can be and can accommodate a large number of people. For this reason, it was chosen as the headquarters of the reconstituted Order of the Phoenix when Sirius offered it to the Order. Only magical persons can see it and only if told the location by the Secret Keeper himself.

6) The Shrieking Shack
The Shrieking Shack is on the outskirts of Hogsmeade, the only entirely wizarding settlement in Great Britain, a village close to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Shrieking Shack is believed to be the most haunted building in Great Britain. The Shrieking Shack was built so that Remus Lupin, who is a werewolf, could go there at the full moon to transform without harming his fellow students or any others. The villagers heard the noise and mistook it for violent spirits. This rumour, encouraged by Hogwarts' Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, led to the Shrieking Shack being officially regarded as the most haunted building in Britain.

7) Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes
It was founded by Fred and George Weasley around 1994 and they started selling, or at least advertising, in the summer of 1995. The following summer they opened premises at 97 Diagon Alley. Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes sells joke and trick items, useful novelties, and Defence Against the Dark Arts items. Fred and George started using the name "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes" in for mail orders. To run their own joke shop had always been their life ambition, and this ambition was finally realised when Harry Potter, a good friend of theirs, gave them his Triwizard Tournament winnings of a thousand Galleons. After the death of Fred, George continues running the shop, for a time receiving help from Ron.

The 7 wonders of the wizarding world

  1. The first wonder and I think most witches and Wizards would agree with me, would be Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As the school has been around for many hundreds, maybe thousands of years, every single headmaster/headmistress who has taught there has started of there his or herself. It is located on a small island off of Scotland and is invisible to all muggles, therefore making it a wonder in itself. It was also founded by four fantastic Witches and wizards, Godric Griffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowana Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Slytherin was also known for his hate of muggles and wish for a 'pure-blood' school.

  2. The second wonder would be Hogsmeade the small village near to Hogwarts that is ONLY magical, no muggles have ever stepped foot in the village as it is completely invisible to all muggles. The village of Hogsmeade has been standing for around 2,000 years and has always been a popular tourist spot.

  3. The third wonder I would believe to be the shrieking shack which is on the outskirts of Hogsmeade and is, again a very popular tourist spot, bringing in witches and wizards from far and wide. Rumored to be haunted the shrieking shack is boarded up and has never been stepped foot into by anybody in living memory.

  4. The fourth wonder of the wizarding world would be Askaban the wizarding prison, only 11 people are ever known to breakout of it in its full 12,000 years of standing. Known not for its tourism, but for its Worries. Askaban is guarded by the saddest creatures alive- DEMENTORS. Dementors suck every last happy memory out of you leaving only the bad for you to survive. The worst thing that could happen to you is to have your soul sucked out, this is a fate worse that death. Its unbearable to watch happen.

  5. Number Five would have to be Beaubatons academy the French wizarding school, located in the south of France, Beaubatons is renowned for its inhabitants including only students of the highest class. It is also said to house many veela- females who have a charm that draws all boys in to love her, weather she is pretty or not.

  6. Number Six would be the Durmstang academy for the dark arts. Located in the North East of Germany and is renowned for previously housing the wizard Grindelwand who finally got expelled in his 6th year for to many dark thoughts and wishes to bring down muggles. It also housed the famous youngest international seeker in the world, Victor Krum.

  7. Finally number 7 would have to be the Leakey Cauldron, Located in London, it is renowned for its wide variety of magical beings, including Witches, Wizards, Trolls, Goblins, and the occasional Hag. The leaky cauldron also holds the entrance from London into Diagon alley- The wizard street which houses Gringots the wizard bank.
