What we can learn from the movies!

You might have seen this sort of thread on other boards - it's still pretty funny as people still manage to think of things to add to it.

Careful observation of teh movies can teach us valuable life lessons. For example:


1) Henchmen are invariably poor shots.

2) If you are held prisoner in some sort of industrial place or warehouse like place - don't worry, you will always be able to escape through the ventilations ducts.

3) No matter how tight your security, the enemy will always be able to plant one of their operatives within your organisation.

4) Any sort of lock can be picked with a paperclip or a hairclip.

5) You can steal a car by bashing away the underside of the steering column, pulling away any two wires and rubbing the ends together.

6) In a western, you can always catch up with the bad guys by heading them off at the pass. Bad guys are notoriously ignorant of local geography.

7) If a hero gets shot, the wound is invariably in the upper left arm and seems to be painless.

8 ) All animals understand spoken English.

9) Before polishing off the hero - the villain always explains his evil plan in great detail - always explaining how it can be foiled.

10) The authorities will never believe you when you warn them of an oncoming threat - people have to start dying first.

That if you long to be popular, you will get your wish, only to realize that you were better off with your nerdy friends playing D&D in their basements.

The nerdy guy who tries to be popular..in the end will realise that it's much better to stay nerdy, and will return to being nerdy and still get the girl.

That I should never feed my Mogwai after midnight, or get him wet, otherwise he will hatch evil little Gremlins who, while fun to party with, will try to kill me. Of course if I can get the little buggers into sunlight they'll die, so that's good to know.

It's ok to kill people if you are clever and you are the good guy.

It's also okay to kill people who hurt your family members because either you will make it look like self defense or the police/jury will turn a blind eye and you will be hailed a hero.

That you can crash a car and have it roll 10 times but walk away nearly unscathed

That a crashed will always explode, but the hero will escape just in time. Bad guys will burn to death.

That you should never run from a monster cause you'll trip and fall

That the monster, who walks slowly and with a limp, will catch you no matter how fast you run and no matter how well you hide.

That you can kill a monster 7 times but it will come back to life somehow

That if you kill someone you should always remove any weapons from their body, otherwise they will come back to life and try to kill you with the weapon.

The pretty girl always wins

That if you are swimming naked in the ocean you will always get attacked by a shark

Don't sign up for more than one competition. There is a possibility that the competitions that you signed up for will happen at the same day and at the same time.

How to pick a lock

That the hero will always get there right before the person he's saving splats

That you'll find a car exactly like the one you just stole and crashed just in time for the police not to catch you.

That dynamite and trains are not a good mix.

That the guy will always think about a girl that he's left and he'll coming running back right before she gets ready move and they'll fall deeply in love and all that junk.

That you can shoot a gun and hit your target perfectly while diiving and/or rolling

You don't have to reload your guns

(very rarely does anyone in movie reload their guns....endless bullets lol)

I learned to fear taxadermists...

That no matter how many obstacles get in your way, you can still make it to a church and stop the wedding of your true love just before they say "I do."

Your always get what you want and give it back because you learned you no longer want it

That monkey's will eventually take over the world and use humans as slaves (lol watched Planet of the Apes the other day)

I learned that if your dad threatens to beat you up if you leave, and you just want to be an artist, then you can find the strength not only to beat up daddy dearest but werewolves as well!

If ever you need to cause a diversion call on Jay and Silent Bob, Snoochie boochies!!!!!

Chuck Norris can knock you out with just one round house kick

ET can help you fly your bicycle

that cops are dumber than dirt... lol... so it always seams

don't use stuff in the desert as a plausable weopan because it may be a sewage tank

just because they do it in a movie doesnt mean that you can copy them and come out with the same results

You can stop a helicopter from falling if you tie the rope around you and lean back

that you can stop bullets from hitting you

that if you click your heels three times you can go home to aunty em

Lol those are pretty funny...I only read the first page though. Something else that always happens in the movies: It rains at funerals. (Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3 are recent examples. I was just watching them on the plane and I was like "Noo! What? It's raining at THIS funeral, too?!) XD

Oh, another thing: It rains when the hero and heroine finally kiss. And instead of moving out of the rain like sensible people they just stand there...
