| Part 1: Part 2: Problably one of the most important dates in the pre 1900 years is the establishment of Ollivanders in 382 B.C. Without this fine shop, wizards in Great Britain would not be able to purchase the most essential element to becoming a wizard-a wand. Another would most likely be the founding of Hogwarts (over 1000 years ago), because it is the best Wizarding school in all of Europe, and essential to the future of Wizards.  When the Chamber of Secrets was created (shortly after Hogwarts was created about 1000 years ago) was also important because it led to the destruction of one of the horcruxes of Voldemort by one Harry Potter. In 1227, Floo Powder was invented by Ignatia Wildsmith, which revolutionized the way in which wizards and witches can travel. If one cannot apparate, or fly a broom, there’s always Floo! The first Quidditch match in 1473 set the standards for all Quidditch matches to follow, which makes it very important in my mind. Without that match, the rule framework of the game would not be what it is today. Founded in the late 1500s or the early 1600s, St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is also extremely important to wizards today. Without it, where would we go to get fixed up after being attacked by a kappa? (assuming we survive). In 1637, the Werewolf Code of Conduct was written, and with it, comes equality for werewolves (and our dear Remus J. Lupin) everywhere. In 1692, the International Statue of Wizarding Secrecy was put into effect. This ensured the protection of the wizarding world from muggles, and it is a top priority today. Artemisia Lufkin (born 1754) became the first female Minister of Magic. She is important because her appointment demonstrates equality towards witches, and that female witches apparently had more rights before female muggles did. In 1844, possibly the greatest wizard Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was born. There are numerous reasons why Dumbledore is important, and since there are so many, I’ll name two: he defeated the dark wizard Grindlewald, a parallel to the muggle Hitler, and discovered the 12 uses of Dragons blood with Nocholas Flamel. Finally, in 1294, the Triwizard Tournament was established, allowing inter-school unity that will become very important during the years of Voldemort. The Pre-1900 periods is special because it sets the stage for everything that would happen after. The base is laid down for what is to come in this time era. Source= www.hp-lexicon.org

| Part One:
Part Two:
I have chosen to look at the time period of 990-1000, as this is when Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was established, and had it’s first ten years of being open to young witches and wizards. I think this is one of the most important dates on the wizarding timeline, because it revolutionised the wizarding world. With the incentive of growing distrust from Muggles around that time, the four greatest witches and wizards (Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff and Salazar Slytherin) opened the school. At this time, the wizarding world began to hide itself from the Muggle world, resulting in the secrecy we see today.
Hogwarts has been so important for all the students that passed through its doors. They received their magical education, made friends, learned Quidditch, and yes, there have been those who turned evil after having completed their Hogwarts education, yet the experience for most is once in a lifetime.

Part 2:
I think the most important dates in Wizarding history are:
The Opening of Ollivander’s Wand shop in 382 BC.  Without wands, witches and wizards would not have been able to properly focus their magic into a particular spell.  Magic would have been very scattered and unorganised before proper, good quality wands were made.
The Founding of Hogwarts around 993 AD. Â Obviously, Hogwarts enabled witches and wizards and Muggle-borns alike to be able to learn the magical skills that they would need in their futures.
The Beginnings of Quidditch in the 1000s. Â What would the magical community do today without a Sport to play, watch, talk about, teams to support, etc? Â Quidditch is an entertaining form of exercise that is also quite enjoyable to watch.
Birth of Ignatia Wildsmith in 1227. Â Without her, the Magical Community would have had to survive without Floo Powder. Â Of course, there are other methods, but Floo is the second most common mode of transport, second to Apparition. Â Floo can be used by everyone, however, under-age and over-age.
Introduction of the Triwizard Tournament around 1294. Â This is also a form of entertainment for spectators but it also is a show of bravery, cunning and reaction in the face of danger. Â It also unites the four Hogwarts houses to cheer on their champion.
Birth of Nicholas Flamel in 1326.  He invented the Philosopher’s Stone which could turn lead into gold – a miraculous achievement that alchemists had been trying for years.
Mungo Bonham, founder of St Mugo’s Hospital, is born in 1560.  St. Mungo’s is an essential place in the Wizarding world – where else would you go if you had a serious magical injury you didn’t know how to cure?  It was founded in the late 1500s/early 1600s.
1637 – Werewolf Code of Conduct is written.  This is important for werewolves to adhere to, to prevent any prosecution of ‘bad’ behaviour.
International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy goes into effect in 1692. Â This is important for wizards so that Muggles do not discover their talents because of the Witch Hunts and hysteria of supernatural.
Artemisia Luffkin, First Witch to Become Minister of Magic is born. Â When she does become Minister, this is a major step for feminist witches because it proves the true value of women. | |

Part 2
I think that the period of 990AD-1000AD is the most important in wizarding history, because Britain's wizarding school was founded during this period. The founding of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry gave modern day wizards and witches the chance to learn of their past and also of what their ancestors wanted to pass down to them. This enables magic to carry on throughout eternity and therefore pass on throuh schooling the importance and significance of magic in our world today. The beginning of the 1st century AD also saw the first signs of Quidditch, the wizarding world's most famous sport. Without Quidditch, Harry would not have his skill in being Seeker, which he inherited from James. Without Quidditch, the wizarding world would not have its fast-paced wonderful game!
I think that these dates were the most important because they gave the wizarding world two of the most important things that it needs in order to, in my opinion, survive!

Please write in no less than 150 words. I'm picking the years of the schools beginning cuz it was how Hogwarts came to be. I think that it's important to remember and teach about this time cuz without Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Godric Gryffindor, we wouldn't have a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Some of the most important things were established like the classes. And also allowing not just purebloods but muggles too. On its foundation we learn about the History of our magical school and how to keep it being what it is. With all of the classes that we have over the years certainly more will be added and we will continue to grow as young witches and Wizards. Even Tom Riddle himself learned to use the magic he learned and has now flourished and bloomed into an Powerful, Dark Wizard and all with the help of his teachings from Hogwarts. Certainly he didn't just wake up and know magic. We all have learned so much at the school. It is our stepping stone, our doorway into the world of knowledge. And with learning about our founders we may continue to discover more about them. They have secrets locked in the school that may one day be revealed. Because with out our founders we would not be here att his school. So many years and work they put into making this really cool school, and through the ages we must remember to learn. All things can be discovered in time but it first takes the knowledge of a mystery to actually seek it. Hogwarts has been with us for many generations and will continue to do so in the many years to come. And if you think about it, it makes sense. After all, History of Magic is here to teach us of the events before us in the wizarding world so we must open our eyes and ears and drink in the bountiful knowledge that it has in store for us. Part 2:
I believe that the most important decade preceding the 1900s was the year 1750-1760.  This was the years when the wizard community started to become more organized as a community rather then wizards in a Muggle World.  They made the Wizarding World more organized.  In 1750, the Clause 37 in the International Code of Secrecy was added to make sure that each nation had to work to keep their magical creatures safe and living within their nation’s borders.  Yet this isn’t why I consider this decade so great but rather because of the other little events that make up this decade. The Department of Magical Games and Sports was also developed in 1750.  This shows that not only is the wizarding community very organized but they have surpassed all the need for protection and started to develop more things for entertainment, which I believe is a very important part of their culture.  This is also the same decade where the Xavier Rastrick the famous world wizard entertainer was born; Guilver Portby was born the bird wizard.  Another important even is the birth of the very first witch Minister of Magic was born, Artemisa Lufkin in 1754.  Â
