CAREER DAY : Resturant 2nd Thread

Welcome, welcome to the RPG VENTIMIGLIA'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT!

KJMUT is our Head Chef, and will be quite busy cooking up her delectable dishes for you all. She has planned part of the Main Menu and is also a Music Coordinator.

STREAMS OF SILVER is Maître d', making sure that everything in the restaurant is running along nicely. She is also in charge of the Graphic Advertising, part of the Wine List, and waitressing.

LITTLEPRINCESS_01 is our Main Decorator, and a lovely job she has done if I do say so myself. She is also in charge of tweaking the lighting (dimmed in the evening to produce a more romantic setting, etc.) and helping Streams with waitressing.

SILVERLADY is our Trainee Chef, Dishwasher, and Music Coordinator. She has planned part of the Main Menu and wine list as well. She is a whiz in the kitchen, already showing remarkable talent in cookery.

Our restaurant is blue-and-green themed, with bronze and copper accents. There are tables spread throughout the room, as well as a bar in front and a couple private rooms in back for special parties. The ambience is restful and elegant, yet not too uptight.



We assure you that our cuisine is the finest in all of HE-Hippoland. Only the freshest and best ingredients are used in our exquisite dishes.

Everyone, feel free to have a seat and place your orders! Chefs in the kitchen, waitresses at the ready!

Aliza was hurrying around the room - putting finishing touches to the various decorations and bits of lighting. Suddenly she heard the bell at the door ring and knew that their first customer had arrived. With a nervous smile she smoothed down her apron and flicked the light switch - the room was ready.

She quickly hurried over to the door where June was stood, she gave her a wide smile and was about to hug her when she remembered - she had to be proffesional. "Welcome, Madam, to Ventimiglia's. We hope your meal here will be very enjoyable - would you like to take a seat?" She motioned for June to follow her before she remembered. "Oh. Is it just you? How many seats do you need on your table?"

Chelle walked into the resturant, glad she wasnt the only one to arrive as she stood nervosly next to the door and waited to be seated

Kaitlyn was back in the kitchen finishing the soups when she heard the bell ring. " Well it will not be long before they will be ordering!" Kaitlyn said.

Aliza grinned, "Sure. How about I get you a large table so other people can join you - if they want."

She led June and Chelle to a large table near the front of the restaraunt - it was best if people could see other diners from the outside, it was good for marketing purposes. Once June and Chelle had sat down she pulled her flip-pad and pen from the belt around her waist. "So...what would you guys like to drink?" she asked. Suddenly she remembered that she hadn't given either of the menus - she smiled apologetically and headed over to the menu stand and gave them each a menu. "Sorry about that, this is my first time - it will take some getting used to. But anyway, do let me know what you've decided on your drinks..."

Cris arrived in the kitchen in a hurry, carrying three large and heavy grocery bags in her arms. "I'm here!," she shouted, "and I've got everything!". As she saw Kaitlyn already ready to work, she smiled and asked, "Are they already there?". She didn't wait for the answer though, as she was too excited, so she peeked out into the restaurant and indeed! She could see her sister and Chelle sitting together at a table, just about to order their drinks from Aliza. She wanted to wink or, better, run over to hug them all, but just as she was already halfway out of the kitchen, she remembered she was in a classy restaurant and was supposed to behave accordingly. "Oupss!", she thought blushing and quickly stepped back. "You didn't see anything!", she warned the grocery bags that she had just left on the counter and coughed in an embarrassed way. Then she blinked. "Geeez Louise, now I'm talking to ... grocery bags?" she asked herself and shook her head, as if that would help her become sane again. "Definitely gotta do some sensible stuff," she decided and began unpacking the grocery bags. After all, she had to hurry up, because the food orders would start arriving any time soon.

" Do you have any tomato paste?" Kaitlyn asked.

Streams straightened her impeccably white shirt and black jacket, and then strode out into their restaurant, her smile polite and friendly. "Hello, and welcome!" she told their customers. "Might I recommend the Fettuccini Alfredo? Paired with the Moet et Chandon Luna, to bring out the uniqe flavor, that truly is one of our best dishes..."

Nodding at them, she saw they weren't yet ready to order and strolled around the restaurant, smoothing down a tablecloth at one table and then hurrying back to the kitchen when she saw a candle missing from another. Then she stood at the front of the restaurant with her hands folded primly in front of her, waiting to greet new arrivals.

Streams smiled and walked toward Polly. "Hello and welcome to Ventimiglia's! How many people in your party, and would you prefer to sit at a certain table?"

She gestured to the tables scattered throughout, some of which were near the windows, some near the bar and some up against the wall. There were even a few smack dab in the center...though hardly anyone ever picked those if there were others available. "As soon as you are seated we will be able to take your order."

"Sure, sure!" Streams nodded and beckoned to Polly, weaving her way through the tables until she reached one right next to the bar. This way Polly could see and hear all the drama going on at the bar without actually having to be a part of it. "Here ya go, table for one."

Actually, the table had two chairs since there was no such thing as a table for one, but no one would join Polly's table unless she asked them to do so. This was a semi-formal restaurant, after all.

Streams handed Polly a menu and pointed to the wine list that lay propped up against the small pot of flowers on the table. "I would try the Garlic Parmesan bread, it really is delicious," Streams told her, and then inclined her head. "I'll be back in a few moments to take your order."

Streams smiled and held a hand out for the menu. "All right then!"

She hurried off to the kitchen to place the order. "Heya Cris and Kaitlyn, got an order for you! Garlic Parmesan bread, Spaghetti and for dessert the seven layer cake." She ripped the scribbled order from her pad and placed it on the kitchen counter. "Be back in a few!"

Then she hurried off to the bar to get the drink. Placing the glass beneath the tap, she filled it to the brim with ice cold beer. A thin layer of foam coated the top when she brought it to Polly's table. "Here ya go then, Hogsmeade's finest! And your order should be ready soon..."

First thing was first.. the bread. Kaitlyn got the bread out of the hot oven and placed it in a bread basket. After that she started on the spaghetti. " Lets see tomato sauce mushrooms, noodles, meat, pepper salt, garlic.. and there we go" Kaitlyn said. With this much of the order complete she placed it on the let out let out window and put a the yellow flag for a waiter/waitress to come by and pick it up. It was impolite in a fancy restaurant to ring a bell. That distracted from the environment. " You can make the dessert if you want." Kaitlyn said to Cris. After that Kaitlyn got the Parmesan grader and Peper mill ready as it was custom to go to the custemor with the waiter/waitress with the finishing touches. So Kaitlyn waited for Streams to come back.

Streams saw that a customer--June--was tapping her foot against the floor and didn't look too happy. "Uh oh..." Streams murmured, and hurried over. "You've been waiting for your drink...I'm so sorry," Streams apologized. "Please excuse us, as we are still new and training several waitresses. Feel free to order any dessert, on the house!" she said smoothly.

Then she walked quickly to the kitchen to order. "One Cappucino Nocciola," she told Kaitlyn, "quick as you can."

Seeing that the little flag was raised, Streams hurried grinned. "That smells really good! I'm glad we get to eat here too when lunchtime rolls around..."

She loaded a tray--she wasn't about to attempt holding everything at once, that would look awkward--and bore it proudly through the restaurant, setting it down with a flourish next to Polly. The pepper mill and cheese grater were on the tray as well, but first she took the heavily loaded plate of spaghetti and set it down in front of Polly. A rich, spicy aroma wafted up from the steaming plate, making her mouth water...

Then Streams set the bread basket down on the center of the table. Ever so carefully, she grated Parmesan over the warm bread, and then she stood at attention, ready to add more cheese or pepper should Polly desire it, while she kept an eye on the counter to see when June's drink would be ready.

Aliza rushed out from the kitchen, she'd completely forgotten about June's order. Smacking her head as she ran out she stopped off at streams and muttered quickly in her ear. "You take care of polly, I've got June."

As she continued toward June she put an apologetic smile on her face. "I'm so sorry June!" she said, "I'll get that for you as soon as I can. And I'm sure streams assured you that you can have any dessert that you want - completely free of charge!"

Kaitlyn went over to the Cappuccino machine and pulled the lever for the Cappuccino Nicola. The machine started to shake and grown and the drink came out. After that Kaitlyn took a bottle of wiping cream and squirted some on top and then put a straw in the drink and it was done. She went back to the takeout window and raised the yellow flag to show that the drink was done.

Aliza saw the yellow flag go up out of the corner of her eye and excused herself from the table where June was sat. She walked over to the counter and put the cappucino onto a tray. She smiled at Kaitlyn and said "You're doing a great job." Before turning around to carry the drink over she asked Kaitlyn, "This is ready right? It doesn't need anything else?"

" No... unless she wants something else on it." Kaitlyn said. " I think she will love it. I Know that I love them." Kaitlyn said.

"Great," she said with a grin and walked over to June's table.

Setting the cappucino down on the table in front of her she kept the tray in her hand and smiled. "Here you go Madam, I am extremely sorry for the delay. Now, do let me know when you are ready to order your next course." she said, pulling out her flip-pad and pen.

Glad to see that Prinny was taking care of June, Streams straightened her shoulders as she stood next to Polly's table. Polly, however, seemed oblivious to the waitress standing there. Streams cleared her throat, and then asked, "Would you like freshly ground pepper or more cheese?"

Kaitlyn had been washing some dishes in the mean time until she saw a order pop up... " Hum garlic bread... ok" Kaitlyn said while she took a fresh loaf out of the oven and put it in a bread basket and put a knife in the basket. " OK Lasagna.. oo that just came out of the oven." Kaitlyn said while pulling the big platter of Lasagna out of the oven and getting out a a fresh plate. Kaitlyn carefully arranged the plate to look nice. "Thats a lot of Lasagna ,but the customer might be very hungry." Kaitlyn said while she did the finishing touches. With everything ready she raised the yellow flag.

Zoe walked through the door, starving. She'd been walking through the town all day on a BIG shopping spree so all her arms were laden down with bags. She droped some of them to relive her aems till some on showed her to a table.

Streams stood for another minute by Polly's table, and then, she decided that her silence meant that she did NOT in fact require any pepper or cheese. With that realization, Streams walked back to the kitchen quickly and placed the pepper mill and canister of freshly grated cheese on the counter where they would be easily accessible the next time she needed them.

Tugging her collar to loosen it a bit in the steamy kitchen, she grinned at Kaitlyn as she saw Cris slip out the back door. "I see your trainee has escaped her kitchen duties momentarily...if you need help just let me know."

Then she headed back out to the restaurant. Business was booming and she couldn't be happier. Therefore it was with a broad smile that she greeted the new customer who was laden down with shopping bags. "Hello, and welcome to Ventimiglia's!" she said cheerily. "Do you have any seating preference? You can choose to sit near the bar, window, wall, corner or smack dab in the middle..."

Zelda was working on the cake that was almost done and looked at streams when she walked in with the pepper mill and cheese. " I'm good for now ,but if there comes a crowd I will need help. I'm sure that she will return soon." Kaitlyn said.

"Oh, er, sorry, in my own little world again. By that bar would be nice" said Zoe picking up her shopping bags.

The seven layer heaven cake was now done, and she had to do was cut a piece. After Kaitlyn had cut the piece Kaitlyn raised the yellow flag for someone to come get it for the customer.

Aliza grinned and rushed over to the counter when she saw the yellow flag for June's order had gone up. She reached the counter and paused while she looked at the food - it looked delicious!! Smiling she walked over to June and set the food down at her table, "Here you go madam, I hope this meal is to your satisfaction!" she said, and then added "It certainly looks divine! Now, please tell me when you're ready to order your dessert". She turned around and was about to skip away - she was that happy about the restaraunt success but then, she calmed herself down and walked over to the door - ready to greet any new customers.

Fiddling with the fine thin strap of her shoulder bag, Etta stepped into Ventimiglia's and glanced around nervously. She checked over her shoulder for her husband but failed to see his time travelling butt anywhere.

Chewing on her lower lip, Etta wondered if she should wait to be guided to a seat or just go sit down.

Aliza saw Etta standing at the door and walked over to her, smiling.

"Hey Ettie! How are you?" Aliza said, grinning. Then, dropping all formalities (after all it was her MOM) she leaned in and hugged her. "Where's Dad?" she asked, questioningly as she led Etta over to a table for two.

Etta smiled down and hugged Aliza once more.

With a grimace she replied, "Off with the Doctor knowing your father."

Taking a seat Etta glanced at her wrist watch.
"He shouldnt be log," she smiled at her youngest daughter. "After all, you know he'd want to be here for you."
