June, as Cassandra Elyria, the Narrator, took a deep breath, wiped her sweaty palm on her skirt, and walked out from behind the red curtains of the stage. She smiled and tried to keep from squinting in the face of the brilliant white lights that shone upon her. She took a deep breath, rapidly repeated her lines in her head, and began to speak.

"Once upon a time there lived a family. See, Mr. and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, be---"

Katie took a breath. She waited from backstage as June stepped out to get the show started. She could hear the anticipitatory chatter die down as her friend deleivered the opening lines. It was now her turn.. well, someone had to do it.

AS DUDLEY: (Tapping Narrator) Ummm... wrong story. We're not on until next week remember?!

June hid a grin as she realized that everything was going to be fine. Her eyes lost their wary glitter and began to shine with happiness. That is, until she opened her mouth and... forgot her lines. Her mind went into overdrive as she began to panic. Think, June, think! she shouted at herself. Finally, a chord hit and she began to speak once more, from where Katie, as Dudley, had stopped.

"Oh? What? Oh....*Coughcough* Excuse me. Let me restart....
Once upon a time their lived a king and a queen who longed for a child."

Katie couldn't help but supress a smile as June clearly forgot her lines. With an encourgaging glance at her as she remebered Katie turned backstage, hoping more people would be ready soon.

AS DUDLEY: Much better (walks away muttering) Geeze, and these people call themselves professionals!

June gave Katie a surreptitious smile and continued with her lines. She hoped she wouldn't forget them again.

"Anyway, as I was saying: Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a beautiful queen and handsome King who longed endlessly for a child. However, luck didn't grace them until they went to the fairy queen for help."

As she finished this line, June hoped that the other actors would remember their cues.

June smiled happily; she loved it when Jenn got into character! Her friend was a very gifted actress, though June had a feeling something else was afoot.... but anyway, back to the show! She turned slightly so that she was facing the Fairy Queen and nodded, saying:

"Right! And they were naturally overjoyed. Especially when the time came to actually have the baby. When little Aurora made her grand entrance even the King was seen to have a tear in his eye."

June had a little smirk on her lips as she said that last line. She loved the one which came next...

Phew, Polly had come through with her line. June smiled and, keeping in character, rolled her eyes at the audience.

" Right... anyway, Aurora's parents were so proud that they threw a party to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl."

As June finished that sentence, the red curtains behind her parted to reveal the set of a party scene. Keeping pace with the curtains, June walked to the far edge of the stage.

Katie who had just completed a quick change backstage joined Polly on center stage. She waited as "her husband" deleivered her line and sat down. Before Katie say down she said,

"Indeed, we are thrilled you could attend."

Then folding her skirt beneath her, she took a seat next to the King.

June cleared her throat as softly as possible while she waited for Polly's line. There it was... word perfect! Putting on a smile and trying to appear like an impatient child, June proceeded to cough loudly and obnoxiously.

" What about presents?" she asked.

Katie stood up to stand next to the fairies. She smiled as Trianna delivered her line. Then with as much grace as she could muster she said to the fairies,

"How generous of you. Well then, why not give them to her right now?"
