| 1.Luna Lovegood and her ridicules but true creatures
Throughout most of her life Luna Lovegood has been mocked and ridiculed by fellow students who didn’t believe her when she told others about magical creatures that no one ever heard of. It is true that there is still yet to be discovered the Nargles as to which her and her father believes are still out there eluding capture but she had discovered many other magical creatures that we all had laughed at. Who would have had known that the lionseptius was real, a creature with a lion head and a snake body, and only came out when a duck and a pigeon would sing to a flower or even a panterilliy, a creature that looks like a flower but can turn into a panther when it hunts its prey which consists of cows and goats. Along with those that creatures that are discovered there is also a detailed description of those creatures that are yet to be discovered and a complete interview with Luna Lovegood herself.
2.The Founding Fathers Secrets

No, you didn’t read that title wrong, Knockturn Alley had used to be the most pleasant place to be. Before Diagon Alley was built, Knockturn Alley was a great place for witches and wizards to go to get anything magic related. There used to be twice the many stores there than there is today and always had Auror’s watching over it making sure that no one did many wrong. With the Auror’s everywhere no one dared to steal or rob the many stores that littered the streets. Then Francis Diagon came and built Diagon Alley. Many of the stores moved their location to Diagon Alley and the other stores relating to the Dark Arts stayed in Knockturn Alley. With the lack of customers being there the Auror’s left and that’s when Kockturn started to get it’s bad reputation. Read this book and find out more about the friendly side of Knockturn Alley and the many crimes that had happened there once Diagon Alley came to be.

We all know about that great train that takes students from platform nine and three quarters to Hogwarts but did you know that it used to be ran by Muggles. You heard me right, before Hogwarts was created by the founding fathers, the Hogwarts Express used to be called the King’s Cross Express. This train’s main purpose was to get the Prime Minster to his or her destination in time. Many claimed that it was magic that protected him but do you think that that was what it was? Read this book and find out more.

In 1845 there was a a man by the name of Charles Fredrick Hansel Mandel. Mandel loved the team the Cucumbers but his beloved team just could never make it to the World Cup. One year after seeing his chosen team lose for the twentieth time in a row, Mendel decided that he was going to take matters into his own hands. Mendel ended up blackmailing all of the Qudditch teams except for the Walliflowers, the only team that the Cucumbers could beat, just so that his team could make it to the World Cup. 7.Molly Fandel, Seer of all?
Many have heard of Molly Fandel, a Seer who claimed that everything she had predicted she had Seen herself, but is that true? New evidence have been found that claims otherwise. It is true that everything that Fandel had said she had Seen did come true but the recent evidence found claims that it was Rachael Mathers Cotton Rezba who predicted everything. Rezba would have these visions throughout the entire day and each time she saw something she would write it down on a piece of paper and then continued on with what she was doing. Fandel would then come and take these papers and memorize everything that was written there before she destroyed it. Read this book to find out more about this.

Many have heard of the tale of the Hallows, the tail about three wizards that ran into Death and Death had given them three items: a cloak, a resurrection stone and a wand that cannot be defeated by anyone, but there are a few of those that believe that they are in fact real. They claim that when all three are brought together that the user will be able to defeat Death itself but how can items that powerful be real. In this book is the full story and many accounts of those who had claimed to of have seen them.

2. Who Was Merope Gaunt? by Vincent Stanwood
Vincent Stanwood, a brilliant young scholar recently graduated from the Trillibond University of Magic, has just released his first ever work. He is one of the few to dare to ask his title’s question – Who Was Merope Gaunt? Besides the name, which should be familiar to most, who was she really? How was it that she came to be the mother of the most powerful Dark Lord our world has ever seen? But this intrepid man has taken it many steps further, posing deeper questions like: What Was Her Upbringing? How Did She Meet Tom Sr.? Did She Know? What Was She Thinking? Though those seem impossible questions to ask – and to answer, even more so – Stanwood used his remarkable resources to delve further into this mystery than any, and help us to understand, at long last, this long misunderstood witch. 3. Kept In The Dark – The Secretive Wizarding World by Wendy Morgan
As we all know, the Muggles are blissfully unaware of our existence. But is that how it should be? Is it really fair to keep so much of the population, as the title states, in the dark about magic? Wendy Morgan doesn’t search out an answer in this book, but wills you to think about it and come up with an answer for yourself. Learn about the history of our relationships with Muggles, and see how it really could work today. 5. Monsters Misunderstood by Maggie Bucklin
Ever wonder what part the Wizarding world had in common Muggle misconceptions about the “monsters” of their world? After all, we all know that the Loch Ness monster is but an overgrown kelpie, “Bigfoot” sightings are just stray yetis, and that werewolves are harmless. Most of the time, anyway. But why are the Muggles so clueless? You and your kids will get a kick out of what the Muggles think of the creatures of our world, have fun discovering the surprises within the beautifully illustrated pages, and might even learn something about the relationship between Muggles and the Wizarding race on the way. (103)
6. Broomstick – The Hows, The Whys, The WOW! by Parker Bailey

| Aunt Spazzy and Me: Personal Reflections on Bellatrix Lestrange by Draco Malfoy "Rumors about Bellatrix Lestrange run rampant, like a streaker at a Quidditch game. Nobody seems to know the truth about this human-like monster (and I say "human-like" only because she bears a vague resemblance to a female human). It was, undoubtedly, these rumors that drove you to pick up this book. You wanted the truth, and who better to share the truth about her than her nephew? Nobody, that's who. "I'll tell you one truth right now: She wasn't crazy. Honestly, she wasn't. She was psychotic. Loopy. Her mind was gone." So begins this irreverent look at the life of perhaps the most notorious Death Eater. Her nephew (now reformed) offers a caustic, darkly humorous perspective on the life of "Aunt Spazzy--" which, he explains, is the most polite nickname he ever gave her.
His Secret War: The Biography of Severus Snape "I thought he was just a jerk. I thought he was a Potions teacher who had taken it upon himself to hate me because he hated my father. I'm sorry to say I hated him back, because once I peeled away the layers of ugliness, I saw his true character and I liked what I saw. It wasn't until the end I learned the truth." (Harry Potter, page 4) This biography traces the life of an unsung hero of the Second War: a traitor who gave his life for those who didn\'t even know of his loyalty. Told in a series of interviews with his friends, colleagues and students, the story of Severus Snape will haunt you long after the last page is turned.
Dementors in Our Society by Johann Rymore Dementors have only been used in Azkaban for a relatively short period of time, but in that period they have left a lasting impact on us. The psychological scars of Azkaban prisoners is just the beginning. They affect us in ways we can't even imagine. They surround certain Muggles without our knowing, enhancing their emotional pain while they are unable to fight back. On wizards and Muggles with horrific memories, the results of a dementor's presence can be catastrophic. Rymore offers a convincing argument for the removal of dementors from society--before it's too late.
The Life and Lies of Rita Skeeter Rita Skeeter. The name is synonymous with fame, superior interviewing skills and notoriety. "She was somebody who stirred up trouble wherever she could, just for the hell of it," says Harry Potter. But was she more than just a troublemaker? Did her penchant for splashing gossip on the pages of the Daily Prophet stem from more than just a desire for attention? Could it be possible that Rita Skeeter actually believed what she wrote? Was this notorious woman a pathological liar? That is the question so brilliantly explored here.
Another World, Another Time Middle-Earth, land of tall, fair elves, gruff dwarves, tiny hobbits and dreaded Nazgul. Narnia, land of talking animals and witches gone bad. Oz, where a little girl who wants nothing more than to get home is aided by good witches and living scarecrows. A common trend in Muggle literature is so-called fantasy worlds; worlds that can not and do not exist. Or can they? Are these worlds merely creations from the minds of brilliant Muggles, or are they worlds actually visited by their authors? Explore these worlds--and the possibility that they exist--here. | |
