Weather: Clear, blue skies, but bitter cold with the chance of showers.

Remember to observe the new Quidditch rule: day one is for arriving to the pitch, after which the referee will post and the game can properly begin!

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June breathed in the smell of frech-cut grass as she stood at the side of the pitch. This was the last game that Gryffindor would be playing this term, and June wanted to remember everything, every single detail, every single moment. She was already dressed in her robes with half her hair pulled back, held by her ever-present Gryffie clip. June licked her lips nervously as she held her broom and bat. She had no idea how this game turned out, and though she wanted to win, she knew that having fun was more important. For some reason, maybe because this was her last game this term, June was feeling strangely nostalgic. She remembered every game this term that Gryffindor had played, from the one against Slytherin where Rocky had physically kicked bludgers, to the semi-warfare in a Ravenclaw game, to laughing at craziness in a Hufflepuff one. June inhaled once more, drinking in the sunlight, the blue skies, and the chilly wind. It was time. She slowly mounted her broom and kicked off, slowly rising into the air. June held her bat across her lap as she calmly flew through the air, going from one end of the pitch to the other, and back again. She wanted to remember this game, and hoped that Slytherin would put up a good fight.

(Gryffindor Seeker)

After a night of sleeplessness and, most importantly, almost a month of withdrawal syndromes, Cris was finally in the Quidditch locker again, hopping around in search of her left glove. "Hey there, lil' glove, come to momma!", she was shouting, but it was a childish thing to do, as the glove couldn't materialize out of thin air in front of her ... she wasn't as magic a being as that. Impatient to get into the air, she decided to leave them be, grabbed her scarf and her broom and ran out.

Cold air hit her face as she kicked herself off the ground, but the sky was clear and all in all, the weather seemed fairly good for a game of Quidditch, especially since she was equipped with a new granny-knit Gryffindor scarf. However, she had to admit giving up the search for her gloves had been foolish idea.... but she didn't feel like minding. Yet.

"Juneybug!", Cris cried as she saw her sister already up in the air. She hugged her, then looked around. "Hm, we're the only ones so far... I hope this place is going to fill up fast." Adding something about wanting to warm up a bit, Cris started zig-zagging through the air, accelerating and braking at times, and even flying some upside-down loops, because after all, she wanted to make sure she would be in top form when the last game of the term started.

Izzy strolled into the locker rooms with a huge grin on her face. Finally, last game of the term and she wasn't late. It must have been a miracle, she had set her alarm thirty minutes early and for once could take a deep breath and not run for the Quidditich field. As she grabbed her bat and broom Izzy walked on to the Quidditich pitch.

Izzy tried not to bounce with excitement as she got on to her broom. Izzy quickly glanced around the pitch and saw that June was already there, along with the Gryffindor Seeker. Izzy glanced at the sky in its crystal clear form. It was a beautiful day, but just a little cold, Izzy thought, as she shivered. Izzy started around the pitch doing laps to try and warm up.

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie walked down to the pitch thinking hard. It was the last game of the season and she wanted to be successful. She was more or less in a daze and was therefore surprized to find herself in the locker room. Pulling on her freshly laundered robes she couldn't help but feel her adrenaline start to pump and though she hated to admit it, she got a little nausis. (sp.) So as she braided her hair in the customary two french braids she couldn't push the worry of letting her team down out of her mind.

Finally, it was time to face the music and luckily the nerves evaporated. She pushed open the doors to the pitch and was releived, but not all that surprized to see that she was not the first or the last, player to arrive. She mounted her broom, anxious to get going and joined her teammates in the air.

(Gryffindor Seeker)

"... and a loop... and a turn.. and again... brake. Now accelerate... faster... rise! .... now turn over...."

Cris had already practiced for what felt like half an eternity when she realised she had basically finished her warm-up and was now simply consuming her energy. She in fact already felt heated up and sweaty, although her hands and nose were freezing and her eyes were teary because of the cold and the current during high-speed flying. Somehow, she had counted on the Slytherins' appearence to remind her that it was time to stop training and get to the real playing part but ... there were not Slytherins in sight yet.

She sighed, as it felt like a great disappointment not to be able to make the last game of the term also be the most fun but alas... maybe there was still hope.

Looking around a second time, she noticed another two of her teammates, Izzy and Katie, and flew over to hug each of them. "Maybe we'll still have a fun game in the end!", she told them winking, trying to encourage them and herself at the same time.

(Referee)

Amy flew onto the pitch, and shouted a hasty apology for her lateness.

Not wanting to delay the game further, she pulled her whistle from her pocket and blew it.

"Let the game begin!"

She released the balls and tossed the Quaffle into the air, which team's chasers would grab it...?

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie noticing the game had started, darted over to where the referee was just a second ago. The quaffle which she had released was in the air right above her. Out stretching her arms it fell easily into her waiting embrace and the warmth of the ball gave Katie some spirit as she flew down the pitch awaiting the aird of her teammates and the direction of her captains.

Izzy was so excited for the last quidditich game and hugged Cris back, when Cris hugged her. All of a sudden Amy blew the whistle for the game to start. Izzy looked around excitedly and almost jumped when she saw that Katie had the quaffle.

"Well, we're off to a good start." Izzy thought.

As Izzy watched the game play out, she noticed what she thought was a black blur. Maybe, a bludger? Izzy glanced at June and tried to catch her eye to see if June had seen what Izzy had.

June waved to her teammates that were now entering the air. She noted Katie,Cris, and Izzy, and returned the hug her sister gave her. After a few moments of warming up on her broom, June saw movement below her and stopped her loops, flying lower to investigate. It was Amy, and she had just released the balls! June blinked as a black blur hurtled towards her and quickly enacted a Sloth Grip Roll in order to avoid it. She quickly righted herself and was about to chase after it, when Izzy caught her eye. June smiled and nodded at her friend; time to experiment.

Gryffindor Chaser

Since Katie was the only chaser on the field and no Slytherin's had arrived yet, she thoght it best to do loops around the feild doing the drills that June and Aliza had put them through at all the practices. So she started. She did rolls avioding pretend bludgers and dodged imaginary chasers that would do anything to get to the quaffle. Finally, she stopped a little dizzy, but still in possession of the quaffle.

Cris was already getting a little sleepy, when she saw Amy appear on the pitch and release the balls. "Oh, the fun is starting!", she thought and sped up.

The wind was blowing through her hair as she flew high above the pitch, keeping a lookout for the snitch .. and the Slytherins. She analysed the sky and the ground most scrupulously, she even called the snitch, inventing silly nicknames, called the Slytherin's team members by name but the result was .. .zero. Just as she thought the game would end without having brought anything exciting to the day, Cris saw something closing up on her. At the beginning, she thought it was the snitch, since it was moving pretty fast but, wait, no, the Snitch couldn't be coming towards her!

She rubbed her eyes with her half-frozen hands to make sure she wants dreaming and indeed, when she opened them again, the unknown object had already gotten dangerously close... against her expectations, it was not small and golden, but rather large and black....

"BLUDGERRR!", was the only thing Cris had time to scream as she zoomed away into the opposite direction, hoping to escape by some miracle.

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie still staring idly into space was wondering why no Slytherins had shown up. She was more than a bit disappointed at the attendance and exceitment level of this game and was therefore, not paying attention. However, she was still clutchling tightly on to the quaffle and was just about to turn around when she felt a sudden burst of pain on her arm causing her to drop the quaffle. Looking around, bot surprized, hurt, and confused she saw Cris change direction suddenly, avioding the bludger that had just hit hurt.

Then she rememberd... THE QUAFFLE! Katie pointed her broom downwards hoping to make a miracle catch but she would never get there in time. Hopefully, Aliza would save it.

Izzy quickly sped to the bludger. It seemed to be speeding up quite a bit. Finally after chasing it for a good thirty seconds Izzy gets a couple more ounces of speed out of her Cleansweep and caught up to the bludger. Izzy came up beside the bludger and suddenly stopped and swerved giving it a good hard wack in June's direction. Izzy glanced over at June hoping that June was thinking what she was.

"Well whatever June is thinking, it will be a good idea," Izzy thought.

Suddenly, Izzy heard an ear splitting scream of a word that sounded like it was bludger. Izzy glanced over to the other side of the pitch to see Cris flying away as fast as she could from a bludger. As Cris got away from it, Izzy watched in horror as the bludger flew straight into Katie's arm, causing her to drop the quaffle.

"It is really to bad that there are no Slytherins to hit it at, but an extra bludger can always come in handy," Izzy murmered.

With that in mind, Izzy sped off to catch the bludger that had just hit Katie's arm.

June stared aghast at Cris's narrow escape and at Katie's injury. She needed a desk... her head needed some serious headbanging. Suddenly, she remembered the look that had passed between herself and Izzy, and turned to her right in time to see Izzy's bludger hurtling towards her. June smiled weakly, still shocked that she had spaced out enough to allow a teammate to get hurt. She glanced towards Katie once more, and, for the first time, noticed the red ball falling towards the ground. Oh no, the quaffle! Time to go to Plan B. June raised her bat and turned herself so that she was now set at a different angle. She glared at the bludger and sighted down the path that it would (hopefully) take. June took in a deep breath and, when the bludger got close enough, swung with all her might. Her bat crashed into the black ball, sending it towards where the quaffle would hopefully be in a few seconds.

Stretching herself flat across her broomstick, June flew towards the quaffle, chasing after the bludger. Because the bludger was streaking quickly in front of her, it was cutting through the air, allowing June to fly faster because of a lack of as much air friction as usually occurred. Continuing to follow the bludger, June kept her eyes pinpointed on the quaffle. She had to save it... somehow. Oh, she was so glad for Plan B. June put on a spurt of speed after noticing the bludger had done the same. They were almost to the quaffle... The bludger hit the quaffle, sending it through the air. Though the red ball was still tilted at a downwards angle, it was almost horizontal... Before the bludger could escape her grasp, June hit it once more, keeping it in front of her as they both headed for the quaffle.

The next step would leave June in a precarious position. She clenched her hands around her bat, raised it at a certain, albeit awkward angle, and hit the bludger. She had put a certain spin on the ball that made it swerve, if you could call it swerving, around the quaffle. June urged her broom faster and dipped a bit before resurfacing in front of the blugder and quaffle. June raised her bat and, without thinking about the possible consequences, hit at the bludger, knocking it backwards and upwards into the quaffle, sending the quaffle rocketing off towards Katie. June breathed a sigh of relief and signalled to Izzy.
