Determined to arrive at the game on time, Cat had set her alarm the night before. As the alarm went off in the dark Slytherin dorm she shared with her two best mates, she groaned in displeasure of having to leave her wonderful dream world. Not that she didn’t want to play quidditch, it was just that she had slept wrong and waking up let her feel the full blast of the neck pains. Well at least I don’t have to use my neck for this game, she thought to herself thankful that this wasn’t a game of football, which she might possibly have to head butt a ball. Of course she’d never play football anyway…she hated running. The feel of the wind through her hair as she chased a little golden ball was much more exhilarating.
She rose from her bed reluctantly and let her eyes look over at one dorm mate to the other. Seeing that they weren’t quite out of bed yet, she walked over to them and politely gave them a light shove and told them it was time to get up. She then got dressed into her quidditch robes and began putting on her safety gear. After that was done she grabbed her broom and headed out the door.
As she headed out, she knocked on each of her teammate’s doors and yelled for them to get up. It didn’t take her long before she had made it to the pitch, luckily not running into obstacles this time around. She smiled as she saw the clear sky and the good weather. She hopped on her broom and flew up above the empty pitch. So far none of her teammates or rivals had arrived, which she was thankful for. Also, she was thankful for the fact that none of the balls had been released, which would have been pointless anyway since no one was out there, but nonetheless she was thankful.

Amy flew onto the pitch with the crate of Quidditch balls. She released the bludgers and the snitch, then tossed the quaffle in the air.

| [Slytherin Chaser]
Feeling somebody push her shoulder, Gemma groaned and rolled over to the side, hoping to fall asl- ouch. Well, she had fallen, but she had indeed hoped to fall asleep rather than fall out of her bed. Considering that going back to sleep would now be rather difficult, she sat up slowly in the tangled mess of her bedsheets and rubbed her back. Great, pain's just what I need. Maybe Banana or Nut have some sugar that'll work as a pain killer... Prying her eyes open, she glanced at the other beds to find one vacated and one with her Banana wifey on it, still in her very own dreamland, and being rather noisy there. She wondered where her Kitty might be, after all she hadn't said anything about being away this weekend, or had she?
After some moments she came to the conclusion that all Cat had been talking about lately had been- yeah, what had it been? She thought that it was something rather important, yet she couldn't quite figure out what exactly it was. Was it food? Sugar? Classwork? Or overcoming NOOBS? It was somehow connected to using strategies, she knew that much, but what could it have been? After another few seconds, she realized that it might just have been Quidditch. And why else would Cat talk about Quidditch if there wasn't a match? In a slight shock since she had been sure the next match hadn't been scheduled until something like July, she jumped up and roamed through her schoolbag where her little green notebook complete with calendar was supposed to be, only it wasn't there.
Ugh, that early in the morning and without any sugar at all I'm expected to find that darn book? Great, just great. Now looking all around her bed, she found a small bag of candy tucked under her pillow. Her sweet dreams supply, as she liked to call it, but now this wasn't the time to think about sweet dreams in her sleep. This was an emergency! She ripped it open and pulled the wrapper from the stuff to swallow it all in two monstrous gulps. That done, she continued looking for the notebook and found it under her bed, covered in a really thick and grey layer of dust.
Wow, looks as if I haven't opened this thing in quite some time...Let's see. What day is it today, actually? Ah yes, I see, 28th of June. Fine. So, what do we have here...Quidditch match. I just knew it! But, no, this was LAST WEEK! Oh my God, did I actually miss a hole bloody game this time? Argh, why didn't anybody tell me about this? Stuuupid Gemma, there you see what happens when you take too much of that useless sleep potion stuff. I better stop doing that soon, or I might miss the next game as well. Speaking of next game...
Flipping the pages until she was looking at the date of the recent day, she slapped her forehead and threw the book onto her bed while running over to the wardrobe. She had been right indeed, there was a match today and she definitely couldn't go and miss this also. She found some black pants and a green tee and combined them with some silver accessories, hoping that the right Slytherin spirit could somehow make up for her being stupid. She grabbed her robes, some shoes and a handful of the candy she kept at the bottom of her wardrobe and then she was almost out of the room when she figured she should probably go and wake up her wifey. Putting her stuff to the floor so she wouldn't forget it in the room, she ran towards the other's bed and jumped onto it, bouncing and shouting at her to wake up and get her behind to the pitch. Then she got her stuff again and ran out, passing the door to the Great Hall and making her way right to the locker rooms instead. There were certain times when food would lose against other necessities, and Quidditch match days were generally such days.
Gemma threw on her gear, pulled her broom out of the closet and made her way onto the pitch where she spotted the balls just being released. In a hurry to make a good impression at least this time, she mounted her broom, pushed away from the ground and went straight for the Quaffle, only stopping to wave hello to her Nut and Captain when she had the red ball tucked safely in her arms. Now she could go for some simple scoring, with no Griffie there and her holding the Quaffle, but she figured she could just as well do some warming-up laps. After all, she was confident that Kay would turn up soon and they could do some fun moves together to show those lions!
But before that could be done, she had something to get done with. Looking rather ashamed, she made her broom take her towards Cat. "Hey there, umm, well, I just wanted to say that I'm reaaally really sorry for missing the last game, Ihave no idea how that has slipped my mind so entirely. BUT I'll do extra extra good today just so we can still be a good team, I hope that's alright cause it's seriously all I can think of doing...Yeah, that's what I wanted to tell you. I hope you aren't too angry with me." She smiled a little smile, hoping that it would somehow help her be forgiven, and instead of waiting for a response [it would have made her just too uncomfortable], she said that she needed to warm up to have a good game and took off again.

Cat sat sort of bored, waiting for any sign of the referee or her team. After a bit of waiting, the ref showed up and released to balls. Her eyes immediately went after the snitch, but lost track of it in seconds. She cursed under her breath, but soon recovered when she saw one of the Slytherin Chasers, Gemma, show up and quickly snatch the quaffle. She grinned then at her friend, whom was approaching her.
"Hey there, umm, well, I just wanted to say that I'm reaaally really sorry for missing the last game, I have no idea how that has slipped my mind so entirely. BUT I'll do extra extra good today just so we can still be a good team, I hope that's alright cause it's seriously all I can think of doing...Yeah, that's what I wanted to tell you. I hope you aren't too angry with me."
Before Cat could reply her friend was off again. She chuckled. She wasn’t angry with Gemma, maybe a bit irritated that a lot of people where missing-in-action the last game, but not mad. She yelled out, hoping to be loud enough for the chaser to hear, "I'm not mad! Just don't do it again or else I will beat you like a red-headed step-child!" She chuckled before adding, "Now go and give it your best!"
She then turned her attention back to the game and searched around for that tiny golden ball she was destined to catch. Out of all the positions of the team she had played, which included being a beater and keeper, this was probably her favorite yet. As keeper she always felt massively depressed if she let even one quaffle through the hoop. And as beater she also felt bad for hurting others, even if it was a good way to vent some anger. As seeker she could enjoy the thrill of the hunt and the competition with the other seeker. It was pretty much just you and the ball and that other little pest. Though of course on occasion one of the beaters could help and get rid of the pest, which she always welcomed.

Violet moaned and turned over. “Stop banging on the door!” She yelled to whoever it was. Violet stood up and walked over to the door, only to open it and see no one. “Dam, Peeves.” She mumbled, shutting the door again. Laying back down, she closed her eyes. Just when she was almost awake, she jumped up. “Oh my God!” She screamed. “The game, Cats gonna be mad!!” She yelled, running around the room for her robes. “Shoes, come on, where are they.” She mumbled, searching under her bed. “Eww, dust bunnies!” She yelled, “And candy.” Pulling her hand out when a glob of goo on it. Wiping her hand off, she started searching some where else for her shoes.
“Urgh, this is hopeless.” She hissed, searching under the other beds. “I’m going barefooted.” She said, grabbing her firebolt, she ran out the door. “Move out of my way!” She yelled to everyone, running out of the common room door. “Cold, cold.” She said, running across the stone floor. She was turning a corner, when she ran into someone. “Urgh, watch where you are going!” She yelled the the boy, who was taller and bigger then her. “More like you need to.” he said, glaring. Violet growled and whacked him in the head with her broom. “Don’t you mock me.” She snarled, hitting him again. Violet hit him once more before running off again.
“No toast today.” She said, running outside. It was bright and clear today, which was good so she couldn’t get sick like the last game. Smiling, she ran out and saw Duck the Duck let the balls go. “Great.” She said and flew up to her post. “I hope to God Cat don’t kill me. This is like the 5 times I’ve been late.” She said, leaning against the goal. The gryffies weren’t there, so she didn’t have to do much.

| [Slytherin Chaser]
First feeling a nudge or something Kay decided to just ignore the sensation and the sudden movement and made a soft noise of annoyance before drifting back off to sleep. For the first time in a long time she was in a deep and dreamless sleep, her favorite sleep of all. After all it seemed like all her dreams did was do well at confusing her and making her slightly disoriented for most of the day.
After being back asleep for what couldn’t have been more than a few minutes she felt another sensation and this one was much more jolting and violent than the first. Plus this movement seemed to be accompanied by a noise that was alarmingly familiar but at the same time very confusing. Laying there for a minute she tried to concentrate on the noise but before she could put her finger on it she heard a loud resounding slam that sent her sitting strait up in bed.
Looking around the room at first she couldn’t understand where in the world that noise had come from, after all the room was far quieter than it ever usually was. Scratching her head for a moment Kay gave another hard look around and tried to discover and understand what exactly had caused all of the previous ruckus and why it was so silent all of the sudden.
Suddenly she started to notice that something was off with Nut and Muffins beds, looking from one bed to the other she scrunched up her nose and squinted her eyes. As she continued to look from one bed to the other she suddenly jumped up and screamed out, “THEY ARE BOTH EMPTY!! That’s what’s so off!!!” After screaming she stopped again and tried to figure out what in the world would have both of her room mates up and gone before her.
Taking inventory of the room she noticed a pattern of the missing items around the room, “Brooms, shoes, both of them at the same time. I think I’m seeing a pattern here but I just can’t seem to put everything together. Of course I shouldn’t have expected any differently with the way I was woken up. Wait what day is it?” Running over to her calendar she started to count off the days, “The last time I remember asking Nut what day it was it was Thursday when we were in potions, and that was two days ago which means that today is Saturday….. Which means….. QUIDDITCH!!!”
Jumping up she started to run around the room like a chicken with her head cut off, she quickly changed into her game pajamas and hoped around as she pulled on her boots one at a time. As she was getting ready she couldn’t help but be slightly happy about the fact that she’d remembered to pack her outfit full of sugar after getting them cleaned. After all, she did tend to be forgetful so she figured it would probably be best to be well prepared before hand for the next match.
Deciding to take the lazy route she grabbed her wand from her night stand and casted a spell to both do her hair and put the charm to keep it in place all at the same time. Normally she’d prefer to do her hair herself, after all the spell always made it to neat looking and it was her trademark to look slightly disheveled all the time. Taking another moment she quickly opened one of the drawers on her nightstand and pulled out some pixie sticks that weren’t shoved into her pajamas and ripped them open and dumped them down her throat.
Running at full speed she ran out of the dorm, down the stairs and out of the common room in a matter of seconds. And before she even had time to blink she was in the great hall and shoving a piece of toast and some juice down her throat, after all she wasn’t at her best when she was hungry. Not even wasting a moment to say hello to anyone she ran right back out still mowing down a piece of toast.
Still moving at full speed she bolted into the Slytherin locker room and started to quickly pull all of her gear on. Once it seemed everything was ready and in place she pulled Gadget out of his spot and gave him the ritual pat and then kiss before running out of the locker room and onto the pitch. As soon as her feet were on that beautiful piece of earth she suddenly couldn’t help but feel more at ease, of course the fact that the only color in the sky so far seemed to be green.
Letting out a long sigh of relief she mounted Gadget and then kicked off hard into the air, while in mid flight towards Muffin Kay couldn’t help but notice that the balls had already been released and then taking a good look around she spotted that Muffin was already in possession of the quaffle. Once again sighing out of relief she flew up behind her and yelled a loud, “BOO!” Not even waiting for a reaction she just chucked for a moment before moving up next to her hubby.
Jerking back and forth she turned towards Nut and gave her an excited and enthusiastic wave and then turned towards the keeper Violet and did the same. “Now all we need is some beaters to show up and we can practice, if nothing else that is.” She mumbled out loud mostly to herself on the fact that not a single Gryffie had managed to make their way out to the pitch yet. Leaning slightly towards Muffin she spoke, “So what do you want to do with that, after all we have an open pitch with no opponents, we might as well have a little fun until they decide to show up.”

| (Slytherin Beater)
Bella yawned, the bright sunlight streaming in threw her dorm window gently pulling her to conciousness. Feeling quite relaxed after her long sleepin, Bella pulled herself out of bed and made her way over to the window and closed the curtains, with the full intention of climbing back into bed. Bella had taken approximately two steps towards her bed when somthing in her mind clicked. Somthing wasnt right... Somthing to do with the window. Bella pause, trying to recount what she had seen that had given her this feeling of dread. Bright sun, clear blue sky, loverly day, green figures on broomsticks... ''Oh, damnit!'' Bella wispered as she realised what she had missed, ''Quidditch!''.
Bella ripped open the curtains and peered once more at her fellow team mates, fighting the feeling of panic that threatened to sufficate her. ''Its okay...'', Bella told herself, ''No Gryffindors have shown up!''. Bella smiled. At least she could be late on a day when the opposition were later than she! Bella quickly pulled her quidditch robes on, changing out of her faverouite Elmo pyjamas. She dashed into the bathroom and ran a brush through her hair. Thankfully, she had washed it last night so it was all smooth and shiny, not tangled and impossible. Bella elected to wear her hair up today so she pulled her hair into a high ponytail before going over to her dorm mate, Jamoki's bed. He was usually a reserve but was to be playing chaser this match and Bella knew he wouldnt want to miss it. She quickly whipped out her wand and wispered, ''Augumenti!''. A stream of ice cold water poured onto Jamokis face and Bella yelled ''QUIDDITCH!'' before sprinting out the door to avoid his reaction.
Bella arrived on the pitch, making a quick detour into the Slytherin locker room only to grab her Nimbus 2001 and her Beaters bat. Bella kicked of the ground high into the air, noticing that the balls had been released. She grinned guiltily to Cat, Gemma, Kaylee and Violet as she flew a few warm up laps around the pitch. So far the only people yet to show were Jamoki and Shadow, who were playing Chaser and Beater respectivly... oh, and the WHOLE GRYFFINDOR TEAM! Bella hoped they would turn up as it was rather boring playing quidditch without an opposition!
Bella pulled up behind Kaylee just in time to hear her say ''Now all we need is some beaters to show up and we can practice, if nothing else that is. So what do you want to do with that, after all we have an open pitch with no opponents, we might as well have a little fun until they decide to show up.” Bella laughed to herself before saying, ''Mission accomplished, at least one of the Beaters are here! Not that I can do much good without anyone to aim at!''

| (Slytherin Sub Beater)
Dory sighed with pleasure. She was stuffing herself on all sorts of treats, sitting on a squashy armchair while house-elves raced back and forth with trays bearing muffins, scones, cakes, sweets... She was sitting in the kitchen, talking to a house-elf she had come to like. She was called Slinky (Dory, having grown up with a adoptive muggle family after her parents death, could not help sniggering at this). But as Dory talked, Slinky was rocking back and forth, and knawing on her knuckles. Dory stopped mid-sentence in her joke about the Hungarian Horntail, the Blast-Ended Skrewt and the Niffler and said, "What's up?" "Mistress Dorothy -" "Don't call me Dorothy! Not even Mistress! Just Dory." "Uh, Dory, you are on the Slytherin team, right?" "Well, yes, but I'm just a sub -" "But your team is missing a beater. You should go, now." "But, I -" "No time to chat. Quick, Dory!" Dory stood up abruptly, and brushed the crumbs from the cauldron cakes off her robes. She hurried out of the classroom, robes billowing out behind her.
She rushed up the stairs, and was almost at the great hall when Peeves appeared from a 17th Century tapestry. The fair maidens embroidered there were shaking their fists at Peveves and mouthing rather rude swearwords. Either he was ignoring them or just hadn't noticed, Peeves made no comment to this. Instead he turned his head to Dory, and said, 'Why, it's Dorothy!" He said the name slowly and deliberatly, for he knew how her full name - Dorothy - drove her up the wall. "What do you want Peeves? Can't just find some toilet to shrivel up in?" "Ooh, nasty! Temper, temper!" "Watch it, Peeves!" "Or else what? You going to spit cake crumbs at me?" He guffawed, and Dory realised with a blush that she had cake crumbs around her mouth. She wiped them away. and said angrily, "Well, maybe I'll call the Bloody Baron. He'd hate to think that you were stopping Slytherins on their way to a Quidditch match. Then we might not win the cup. And who would the Bloody Baron blame?"
Peeves looked shifty. He looked as if he was trying to figure out whether Dory was lying or not. Of course, Dory would never run to someone else for cover. It had almost stung in her mouth to talk like that, but she was just trying to distract Peeves from her real plan. Dory raised her wand, sent a stunning spell at a chamber pot in an alcove just above Peeves head, and the pot fell directly on his head. It was stuck solid. He cursed, tugged and pulled the chamber pot, but it wouldn't budge. He flew away, screeching and bouncing off walls.
Satisfied that Peeves was taken care of - for the moment, at least - Dory finished climbing up the stairs to the great hall, and walked out into the sunlight. As she walked towards the pitch, she was about to summon her quidditch robes when she realised that they were in her locker, which was Spell-Proof. She was in a Dark Mood, from her encounter with Peeves, when she reached the stands, and stormed into the changing rooms. Pulling on the robes and taking out her Nimbus 2001, provided by Lucius Malfoy, and her bat, she strode out onto the pitch, her head held high. She mounted her broom and sped of into the sky. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, as it always did, as she circled the stands to warm up. Her bad mood and anger at Peeves blew away as the wind roared past her ears. "Whoop whoop!" She cried, face turned towards the sun.
But something was wrong. As she looked around the pitch, there was no flash of gold and crimson. Just green. She counted the Slytherin players. Five, add herself; six. Someone was missing. She scanned their faces as she flew past, and noticed at one that Jamoki wasn't there yet. Well, that didn't matter. Considering that the whole Griffie team was absent. It didn't look as if there'd be much of a match anyway. How were they going to play with no opposition?
She flew up behind Bella in time to hear her comment about the number of beaters. She smiled, and said, "You can add one more Slytherin Beater to your list! I'm replacing Shadow, she couldn't make it."

“No...” June mumbled, tossing her head to the right, away from that horrid buzzing noise. “Go. Away.” If she’d been more lucid, she would have realized that inanimate objects can’t go away, but at that moment, June didn’t care. She shuddered and pulled her covers tighter around her. She felt momentary goosebumps run down her body, but after a few seconds, she was still cold. And that infernal buzzing still continued. June reached out a hand and flailed around, trying to feel for her alarm to shut it off. The only thing she felt was the air which was so very helpful. Giving up, June rolled into a fetal position and shivered. Why was it so cold? And why was her head so hot? She hated being sick. It absolutely sucked. And that infernal buzzing still continued!
That’s when she remembered. Quidditch. Murrh.... Quidditch. “Holy Hippos,” June grumbled, though with a mouthful of blanket, it came out more like Howee ‘ibo. She inhaled slowly, gathering her strength, before she took the initiative and kicked out with her left foot. Her foot caught an edge of the covers and pulled them down, leaving June’s head, neck, and shoulders free. She took a deep breath again and kicked out with her right foot. More covers slipped off of her body. And more goose bumps popped up on her arms. Delightful. After a few more kicks, June was relatively free of her covers, but more inclined to shaking. Fantastic. She grabbed for her wand which was under her pillow – why hadn’t she thought of this idea before? – and Silenced her alarm. Much better. She yawned and sat up. The quick movement made her dizzy, so she had to lean back on an arm as her world readjusted itself.
Ah. The calendar. With a big red circle around today. With big red words that read “Quidditch”. Don’t you just love reminders like that? June shakily got to her feet and reached out to her dresser for support. She wondered what her playing would be like today, in the state she was in. As her hand moved along the dresser, she found herself touching not hard wood, but soft cloth. June turned her head and her eyes widened in surprise. Her Quidditch robes! How had they gotten here! She looked around, and she began to smile at what she saw. Her bat and her broom!
The memory came back to her now; when she had last practiced, she’d absentmindedly passed through the Locker Room and brought her things up here, and had been too lazy to return them later. She was so thankful for her laziness right now. But Quidditch. Right. June was feeling quite mono-word-ic today. She reached for her robes and pulled them off the dresser, accidentally pulling off a necklace as well. She made a mental note to pick it up later, and put on her Quidditch robes, right over her pajamas. She doubted her Beating ability would be affected by her panda pajamas; if they were, then... well.... she’d cross that bridge when she came to it. June covered a yawn with her hand before reaching and grabbing her broom and bat.
She walked to her window; June was lucky in that there was nothing obstructing her view of the lake, meaning that there was nothing she could bump into when she flew. Yay. She opened her window and slowly climbed up onto her desk. She sat on it, her legs sticking out into the open air outside her window, and tucked her bat under her arm. June held her broom out at the ready and slowly edged herself onto it. With a bump and a quick drop, June was onto her broom and speeding towards the ground. She instinctively clutched her legs tightly around her broom and grabbed the wood with both hands, steadying the broom.
“Thanks Aethera,” she murmured before turning Aethera’s nose and speeding towards the Quidditch Pitch. After a number of minutes, June reached it and began to descend. No Gryffindor players had arrived yet, though plenty of Slytherins were there. Surprisingly, they hadn’t really done anything; from what June could see, they seemed to be just hovering around. Huh. Well, that was good for her. June yawned again and quickly held her neck steady as she felt a familiar pulsing at her temple. She closed her eyes against the bright sun as the pulsing and the pain intensified, and when that round was over, June sighed, opening her eyes again. She hated being sick, as well as migraines. She removed her bat from her arm and held it in her right hand.
It was time to go Bludger-hunting. Followed by Slytherin-hunting, of course. She looked forward to it.

"Look out, coming through!" Pamela shouted as she ran down the corridors. "Can't you see I'm late?!" She had her broom in one hand and a honey bun in the other. The latter was her biggest weakness. I hate being late. Hate it, hate it, hate it! As she was rounding the corner, Pamela collided with something and heard a loud clank as she fell to the floor. "Stupid armor, why did you have to get in my way?" Sometimes it was so convenient to be in a school for magic. No one could think Pamela was crazy for talking to an empty suit of armor because, in a sense, they were kind of animate...even if they weren't sentient.
As she continued sprinting, Pamela wondered how many slytherins were on the pitch. "Probably all of them, and they've probably already scored fifty bazillion points. I really must stop talking to myself. Of course, it's even stranger to talk to oneself about talking to oneself. I bet everyone just thinks I'm nuts. Why am I still talking to myself?!" Slapping her hand to her forehead, Pamela slowed down as she came to the locker room door.
As she stepped out onto the pitch, Pamela counted the blurs of green. Six, lovely...and one other Gryffie. Mounting her broom, Pamela decided that now would be a good time to get started hunting down the snitch. "I'm so sorry I'm late!" Pamela called out to June, one of her co-captains. "Long story, don't ask." Pamela began flying around the pitch like an Hungry Lion with Wings: As fast as possible and covering as much of the perimeter as possible. She was starting to feel much better now that she was flying through the air, feeling the sun on her face. It wasn't to warm, but not too chilly either. It just felt great, almost perfect. She was suddenly wearing the first smile she had all day.

"Welcome, everyone, to the eighteenth House Quidditch Match!" Elana shouted into the mic. "Today we will witness what has promised to be an epic match between Slytherin and Gryffindor, but so far we have yet to see that. First on the pitch was Cat of Slytherin, their Seeker Captain. Next we have Gemma, a Slytherin Chaser, Violet, their Keeper, Kay, another Chaser, Bella, a Beater, and Dory, who is taking Shadow's place as Beater. As you can see, the Slytherins have dominated the pitch! Not much to action without any Gryffies to play against...But wait! What do we have here? The Gryffindors have arrived! Well, two of them, at least. We have June, their Captain Beater, and Pamela, their Seeker. Hopefully the pace will be picking up now..." She leaned forward against the railing and watched the pitch as avidly as any fanatic, waiting for some excitement.

Dory saw with a groan that two griffie players were on the pitch. No chasers yet, though. That was good. However, she realised that herself and her teammates were just hovering around in the air. She didn't want to shout at them as she would be then called a hypocite, and she wasn't captain eiter. So, instead, she started chasing a bludger to show them that it might be a good idea to take advantage of the situation and get busy.
The bludger she was chasing seemed to be hyper. It made her do all sorts of loops the loops, spiral falls and every so often it would dart towards her so she'd have to do a Sloth Grip Roll, to avoid it. The Sloth Grip Roll involved swingng around on one's broom, to hang upsde down, to avoid a bludger. On each of these occaisions, Dory would get the same sensation - blood rushing to her head, scared that she wouldn't have the strength to righten herself, hands slipping - but it would be allright. She would sit back up, and the chase would be back on.
But, finally, she came close to the whizzing leather ball, and grabbed the bat by both hands. She urged her broom forward, just a little bit further - WHACK! The bat made contact with the Bludger, and she sent it hurtling through the air towards the Griffie Seeker. That'll wipe the smile off her face. She thought, an evil grin spreading slowly across her face.
Dory had targeted Pamela, the opposite Seeker, for precisely that reason. She was the Seeker, and, at the moment, the only one on the pitch capable of scoring points for the Griffindor team. However the Seeker was zooming around the perimeter of the pitch rather fast. It had taken all of her luck and skill to send it straight. Come on... She thought to herself, and flew closer to see clearer what was happening, or going to happen. But then she stopped herself. She shouldn't be idly watching the game. There was one more Lion player to be taken care of
She spun around to check where everyone was. The oppponant Beater wasn't too far off, nor was the other bludger. Perfect. She chased down Bludger number two. This one seemed lethargic in comparasion to Bludger number one, and she had no problem in hunting it down. She grabbed the bat once more by both hands, and swung at Bludger number two. It flew with alarming speed towards the Griffie Beater. Dory saw with a sigh that it was a little to the right. Oh well.

Gemma was feeling a bit sleepy and her stomach was rumbling with the sensation of continuously missing breakfast. I guess I'll have to do something about this, maybe before the next game I should place some food...somewhere. Not in the locker, though, that's for sure or else if I happen to miss another game it'll be a mess by the next time I look in there. On my bedstand, maybe. Of course that means a strong risk of eating sometime during the night instead of in the morning, so it's probably not the best idea either. In the bathroom then? And speaking of the bathroom, I didn't even go there this morning, how very ewww of me...
Stopping her trail of though to fix her hair, which she had also not done before, she jumped on her broom when suddenly she heard a loud voice booming on the pitch. She looked around in confusion and caught sight of a twinkling something which turned out to be the commentator's watch. At least now she knew where the voice came from, but when she heard who was supposed to be on the pitch already, Gemma was slightly freaked out again. With all of the thinkin about food, she had totally missed out on her teammates reaching the pitch. She nodded curtly at each of them, spotted her Banana wifey right next to her and jumped on her broom again.
"When the heck did you get here? Wow, I must be g-" She was kept from finishing her sentence by the newest arrivals, a Gryffie Beater and the Seeker, and that was when she figured it was time to act, especially seeing as the Quaffle was still in her very own hands. Or rather, that was where she had expected it to be. However her hands came up empty and she looked down below her, scratching her head. There it was, the Quaffle, falling slowly beneath her broom towards the ground.
Weird thing, just how did it get there? I could swear that I was holding it right here in my arms just a second ago...ah well, no time to contemplate the sneaky escape further, better get it right back to Mommy. She held onto her trusty broomstick tightly with both hands and tried to measure the distance between herself, the red ball and the ground. After all hitting her head on the green wouldn't be the slyest move, she knew that much. Hoping that was about right in her idea of distance, she pushed the tip of her broom down and after the shortest moment she was speeding downwards, the ground coming closer and closer. She loved the way she felt the rush of wind against her face, the rush of adrenaline through her veins. This was one of the reasons why she couldn't help but love Quidditch! After a few way too short seconds she saw the Quaffle appear slightly below her and she carefully let go of the handle with one hand to grasp it. When she was sure she had a firm grip on it, her other hand pulled the broom's tip up hard and she was shooting towards the sky now, desiring to sense just a little more of the adrenaline rush.
All too soon, she was at the same height as her wifey again, and with a smile she stopped her broom and made it hover horizontally. "Nothing better than a good move to wake you up, isn't it true? But anyways, now that I am finally present both physically and mentally, how about we pull off something good? I mean, we're not perfectly complete, I know that, but with two Chasers and both Beaters and them Gryffies with no Keeper, there should be some fun things for us to try, don't you think so? And sorry if you said so before, you know me and my horrible attempts at concentrating on something..."
She winked and smiled at Kay and waited for an answer, a plan, anything they could start with. Meanwhile she got a few pixie sticks out of some hidden pocket in her robe, ripped them open and poured the content down her throat. Normal Muffin behaviour, nothing spectacular. Then she started inspecting the weather for the first time and came to the conclusion that it was a really nice day. Blue sky without a single cloud, nice temperature and no strong wind. This was just the way she liked her match days to be, sweet and pleasant. Of course a rainy, stormy match did offer its very own advantages, but with so very few opponents attending a game and so many of them, she didn't really need to risk her own health for advantages. It was just fine the way it was now!
When she had mulled over that long enough, she shifted on her broom and made herself concentrate on Banana again, intending to not miss her answer, should she happen to give one. This was going to be one good match, and she wasn't about to let her disability of concentrating keep her from being part of it!

At Pamela's familiar voice, June looked up and grinned. "It's okay," she said a bit belatedly, "I was late, too." The Seeker zoomed off and June resumed her search for Bludgers. It seemed that the arrival of the two Gryffindors had sparked the Slytherin team to do something, so June readied her bat. She winced inside a little; her head still ached, though the fresh air helped a little. Surprisingly, the sun wasn't hurting her as much as she'd expected it to... But June turned her mind away from the weather and her sickness, and towards the game. No matter what, this was still Quidditch, and it required her full concentration.
As June scanned the skies, she spotted the Slytherin Beater flying towards a black ball. Bludger Alert! June began to fly towards it as well, though there was almost no chance that she'd be able to get it before the Slytherin did. Her hunch was right; Dory got to the Bludger and slammed it towards Pamela. "Look out!" June shouted towards her friend and wished that she had a Sonorus on her voice. However, she did have a bat which could now come into use. "Go Aethera, go!" she muttered to her broom and pushed herself down, trying to squeeze as much speed out of her broom as she could. Thanks to her broom's previous tune-up, Aethera sped forward even faster, and June held on for dear life.
However, a familiar whoosh of air came to her ears from her left side. June turned in surprise; she hadn't seen a second bludger. But that was probably because of her headache because at that moment, there was a very real bludger heading straight for her side. June braked, though not too quickly, and as the bludger flew straight, she turned a little to the side and raised her bat. She had learned early on when she had first taken up the Beater job that usually, it wasn't worth it to hit a bludger towards another Beater. June smiled a little as she remembered Ettie hitting her bludger towards a teammate, and June had never made that same mistake again. But if the Beater was very close had his or her back turned.... June had hit bludgers their way quite a few times.
June stopped reminiscing and snapped to attention as the bludger drew even closer. She raised her eyes briefly to check on where the first bludger was, and was glad that it hadn't hit Pamela yet. "One..." she counted, "two... Three!" On "three", June used both hands to hit the bludger with her bat in a kind of side swing. She shaded her eyes with a hand afterwards, and watched as her bludger flew towards the first bludger. "Come on..." she wished. The move was called the Noble Knockaway, though June wasn't sure whether the move was actually noble, or if the person who made it up just had 'noble' as a last name. But now wasn't the time to contemplate the names of moves. This particular one involved hitting a bludger towards another bludger to knock it off track.
June grinned as she watched the bludger that she'd hit knock the other bludger, hitting it off course. It seemed that this measly illness hadn't made her lose her touch after all. She stuffed her bat under her robes and sped up. She flew towards the bludger that had just been knocked away, determined to get to it and finally hit a Slytherin.

Pamela turned her head to look back at a very loud crack that had resounded from far too near her location. When she saw that two bludgers had collided, and that her teammate June was smiling while stowing her bat back in her robes, Pamela put two and two together. Calling out a thank you to June for saving her back, literally, Pamela decided that she would start watching out for bludgers again.
She used to be good about it, but in her short career, no one had ever seemed to bother targeting her. So, Pamela had stopped worrying about the possibility of getting hit. A bit annoyed with herself, Pamela slowed her speed down--there was no real need at the present time to push her broom beyond its limits. She had done some significant damage in the not-to-distant past to her broom that way.
She continued scoping out the pitch in a sort of Cautious Kitty maneuver. She was moving around much more slowly (it would be easier to see any glint of gold that way) and keeping her eyes and ears open for bludgers as well this time...even if an injury would be a good excuse to get extra-special attention from Justin, the guy she'd recently started dating.
As she was rounding the pitch near the hoops on the Gryffindor side, Pamela at last saw the thing she was looking for. There, right in the middle of the field, very close to the ground, the snitch was fluttering almost casually. It was as if the little guy was just waiting to be noticed...and caught. "Well, wait no longer my little friend," Pamela muttered to herself. Sneaking a peek at the opposing seeker, Cat, Pamela urged her broom forward cautiously toward the center of the pitch. When she neared it, Pamela pointed her broom downward in a rather steep angle. Pretense Abandoned she went into an exceptionally fast dive.
Pamela could feel the air rushing past her as she neared her own personal goal. Seriously, nothing beat the feeling of being so close to catching the snitch. This, alone, was the reason she so loved playing seeker. So much rested on her job, that it felt wonderful to know she was able to pull it off. Well, there was one other thing she loved--the danger. Intentionally "falling" head-first toward the ground at high speeds created a serious adrenaline rush. As Pamela got nearer to the snitch, she reached out her right hand to catch it.
Unfortunately it decided, just at this moment, to play hard to get. It darted off to her left, so Pamela had to pull out of her dive as quickly as possible. She barely pulled out in time, but managed not to crash. Swerving off to her left, Pamela resumed a more horizontal chase. This was not as dangerous, but no less fun. This time, when she caught up to the snitch, it wasn't quite as quick. In one quick swipe, Pamela had caught the snitch. As she landed, she held it high above her head to let her teammate--and the spectators--know of her success.

June narrowed her eyes, focused on the bludger that she'd hit away. Thanks to Aethera, she was getting closer, though she felt her headache begin to build up again. Hopefully, she'd get to the bludger relatively unaffected by it. June pulled out her bat and kept it at her side, ready to bring it out and use it. As the bludger in front of her dived, June pushed the nose of her broom down to follow it. As gravity helped her fly faster, June felt the familiar turning feeling in her stomach; unlike some people, June loved this feeling and was extremely grateful that she didn't get carsick or broomsick.
However, headaches still had their powers. As June neared the bludger, a particularly large pounding began, and she was forced to slow down. In the back of her mind, June begged her head to stop doing whatever it was doing, but to no avail. The pain was increasing and June was forced to completely stop her broom as she closed her eyes and rubbed her temple with her fingers. She took deep breaths and after a couple of moments, her headache had subsided once more. She slowly looked up so as not to get blinded by the sun once more, and was happily surprised to see that the bludger was still speeding away in its original direction. Most bludgers would have completely escaped to the other side of the pitch while June had been stopped.
Angry at herself and at her headache, June flew forwards once more, though she was careful and only sped up gradually. Normally, she would have shot forward like a bullet, but.... no. She sighed and continued to gain speed until she was at her original speed before her headache had decided that it just had to interfere. "Come on," she muttered, spurring Aethera faster. The bludger was getting closer, but it was still farther than it had been before. But patience was a virtue, as June's mother told her constantly, so June used it. She waited patiently during the next few moments, building up speed as she flew. Now, she was much closer to the bludger than she'd been before and June allowed herself a small smile before she brought her bat up higher.
It was time for the Upward Reach. When June was close enough to the bludger, she flew down until she was level with it and at its side. She bent a bit forwards and to her right. Then, with a mighty swing, June shot up and hit the bludger, sending it spinning high above her, straight towards Gemma. June winced; she hadn't used the move in a while and having to bend and then swing like that wasn't the easiest thing in the world. The Upward Reach was used usually to hit a bludger at a target higher than the Beater, and since that didn't usually occur, June had been a bit out of practice.
She flew higher so she wouldn't have to use that move again. She saw Pamela flying towards something gold and glinty.. the Snitch! June watched with bated breath as the Gryffindor Seeker flew faster towards the Snitch, and then she reached out a hand to grab it... Yes! Pamela had caught the Snitch!
June flew down, abandoning her search for bludgers since it didn't matter anymore, and landed. "Great job!" June said grinning and hugged her teammate. So what if only two Gryffindors had showed up at this game? June thought that they'd still done Gryffindor proud, and June was almost completely happy. "Go go Gryffindor!" June cried.
