"Text/SMS Speak" Information - Please Read!

Please remember to not use chat/SMS speak on the forums.

Not only is it unsightly and difficult to read, we also have members from all over the world who may find it difficult to read SMS-speak not in their native language.

An example of chat/SMS speak is the following:

Of course, common acronyms such as "lol", "rofl", "lmao" etc. are allowed! Just don't use chat speak in entire sentences.

I'm just bumping this topic up as I've noticed an increase of people using text speak and shortening words in their posts.

Please remember that this is NOT allowed - even if you're only using it for the odd word. Also, please try to use capital letters at the start of sentences and the proper punctuation.

Is lol acceptable. That's one I have a habit of using from time to time, although I'm more apt to use "ha ha", or perhaps *giggle*. I was just wondering.

Yes, I'm guilty of using lol a lot as well :D

It's mainly when people shorten words...eg. "people" becomes "ppl" or "thanks" becomes "thx" - things like that.

So it would probably be inappropriate to reply "i.c."? Just kidding of course.

Is "cuz" alright? Its just I use that one on occasion!
