| Welcome to the maze, Pamela!
You find yourself at the beginning of a huge maze composed of gigantic green hedges. Using your knowledge of spells, especially Charms, you must find a way out of this maze. Numerous obstacles will be presented to you and they need to be passed in order for you to move on through the maze. Tall leafy walls rise up on both sides of you. The sun shines brightly and there's nothing in sight... at the moment. Step into the maze and begin this adventure. Remember to role-play your actions, show your knowledge of spells and charms, and to be creative. Your first obstacle will follow your first post. There will be ten total challenges for you to complete before you're done.
Good luck!

| Pamela slowly entered the maze. She was dressed in plain black robes that were made specifically for activities requiring free movement such as this. She had her wand in her right hand. Once she was inside, the entrance became a wall. That's not surprising. Pamela thought. After a bit of walking, Pamela wondered if the path would ever change.
Almost as if the maze was answering her inner question, a fork appeared right in front of her. She looked to her left. She thought she could vaguely make out a shape that was not much larger than her, but she wasn't certain. To her right, she saw nothing. Taking a deep breath, she turned to her right and began to walk cautiously down this new path.

| A cloud of dust, similar to the famed Peruvian Instant Darkness powder falls from the sky, almost completely blotting out the sunlight. Not easily susceptible to most ordinary spells, the dust continues to fall and sticks to everything it touches. | |

| As some sort of powder began to fall from the sky, Pamela became concerned. It appeared to cover all light. As she stood there thinking, trying to figure out her best available course of action, it began to get increasingly darker.
Pamela would have to do something. Her first thought was to use the trusty spell, Lumos. After she muttered the incantation, it was clear that would not work. She wondered if perhaps it was that instant darkness powder she had seen in the Weasley twins' store.
Pamela laughed a bit when she found herself wishing for muggle night vision goggles. She had dispensed with the survival kit her father always had her carry, as she wasn't sure it would be legal to use in the maze. Even if she had it, the kit wasn't that well stocked. For some reason, Pamela was having a hard time thinking of a way around this particular obstacle. That wasn't good; if the first obstacle was stumping her, what did that say of the remainder of the maze.
"Okay," Pamela began to herself. "More than likely, this powder won't keep falling all the way through the maze. I just need to come up with a way to trap it long enough for me to get out of the range of the powder." Thinking aloud often helped her in times like these. "Conjure tina," (conjure tub) she said, pointing her wand about 2 feet away from her. This conjured a fairly large tub, a bit smaller than a bathtub. Keeping her wand on the tub, Pamela used a spell that should pull the powder into the tub, "polvo iman." (powder magnet). Somewhat surprisingly the spell had worked. A fair bit of powder was drawn to the tub.
Once she confirmed that her spell had worked--well enough to suffice hopefully--Pamela took off in the other direction. She was now heading the way she would have if she had turned left. She just hoped that the powder would stay away.

| Well done! You have passed your first challenge!
As Pamela continues on, she finds herself at a fork in the path. Before she can decide which to go through, the fork suddenly doubles from two to four, and then four to eight, and continues to break off. Before long, she has been surrounded by new paths, unable to tell the old from the new. She needs to continue on, but how can she go in the right direction?
