A group of 5 year old children

The children sat on the tables of the local primary school. Bored stiff. Suddenly one of them had a thought...
"why don't we do something fun? Like jump- rope or bean bag throwing?" Every one else agreed and went on collecting the stuff that they'd needed to complete the activities.

One kid jumped over the rope...
*bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
*jump* *jump* *jump*
Then he passed the skipping rope to the kid behind him because they were sharing the rope due to shortage.

Another kid threw the bean bag over to the other end of the room, it landed with a thud and slid across the floor until it was stopped by the wall on the opposote side that he was standing at. One of the kids waiting int the line behind him whispered in amazement "Good throw."

A warm up for a football team

The football players all arrived out of the changing rooms at the one time, pushing and shoving their way out. the coach stood at one end of the pitch, calling them over. The players all broke into a slow jogg until they reached the coach, then they stood infront of him not an inch of breath was taken from their lungs in the run. Okay... I'm going to have to warm these guys up another way th coach thought, cut up that Plan A didn't work.

The coach signalled to the bag of footballs and the gravel pitch.

The footbalerls spilt up onto groups, one group went and practised passing the balls to eachother and the other went and ran laps of the gravel pitch. They were both great warm ups, but they also were great skills for the pitch.

A baby (I'm going to do this like iot was a baby of Amieés age, i don't think you can exercise one younger xD)

The baby sat up, she smiled as she played peek-a-bo! with her mother. The babies mother got up and sat on the chair and waved the baby to toddle over. The young child waddled over unsteadily to her mother but got there successfully, looking very pleased with herself she opened out hr arms for her mother to lift her.

The babies mother lifted her and took her to the same spot , this time she sat a little further away. She continued this until the baby got fed up, then she let the baby play on the mat. The baby hit the toys that hung from the arch and devolped a sense of direction and disance as well as developing arm muscles and having fun!

Karate

Karate

Stepping into the dojo the children sat down on their hands and knees patiently waiting for the sensei to begin. Walking to the front of the dojo I bowed to my fellow students and prepared to take the warm up.

Jumping up and down we began to walk up our bodies lightly at first but it got more intense when we all stepped into a fighting style stance and continued in these routine movements for a few minutes. Suddenly I cried yame and everyone fell still.

And this was when we began the stretches everyone began to moan and groan as we forced out bodies into impossible positions and some seemingly inhumane twisting our bodies round pushing our legs out until it made us all gasp in pain. Yet we all forced ourselves into these positions for the sake of Karate and to prevent ourselves from getting injured. And when it was time for one of the most painful positions we would put ourselves it was met with a groan of anger as I cried ‘And spread’. And we all forced ourselves down into the splits or as far as we could go. Lucky for myself after the years of training I was able to go down into the splits but the pain was still intense.

Stepping up from that we moved on to swinging out legs up when I heard a resounding ‘crack’ from the other side of the dojo. Looking over I saw a small girl with a bloody nose. Bading my way towards her I asked ‘What happened here’ bending down to her level. ‘My..my knee hit me in my face’ she stammered through the blood. Unfortunately as she was swinging her leg up in the air she must have bent her knee and was now in extreme pain.

‘Aaron continue’ I instructed as he bowed obediently and continued with the warm up I took Jessica into the toilets in the side as I cleaned her face up she whimpered at the touch of my fingers. Occurrences like this happened often at a rough sport like karate and I was used to it. Walking back into the room we stopped the warm up and began the real training.

Running around the room we all shook hands with someone else and cried ‘Hello derek’ a common exercise to begin acting. Then we ran round and greeted the other dereks as though we hadn’t seen them in 20 years. And so on through different stages of life until the who affair became to tedious that we stopped and came into a circle again.

Next was the ever great pronunciation techniques a pointless exercise in my view I mean we all know how to talk. Giggling with my friend next to me we went through all the rhymes we new until our mouths began to hurt. And we couldn’t get ‘Peter Piper’ out of our heads.

‘Come on guys let rehearse out lines’ the lines that we’d rehearsed so many times in one way were now going to be changed.

‘First lets to it in an angry way.’ Clenching my fists tightly I screwed my face up in an angry way frowned. ‘I am for you’ I cried swinging my arms up in the air in a made angry way.

‘Excellent’ cried the drama teacher. ‘Now lets try scared’ Sitting on the floor I brought my knees up close to me and held my head down low. My shoulders hunched up close to my body keeping myself hidden from the world. ‘I am…for you’ I quavered my voice stammering.

The drama teacher stood up in front of us as we all finished our lines. ‘That’s great now lets all lie on the floor and relax before the real rehearsals shall start.’ Sighing I lay down on the floor my legs and body spread apart breathing in and out deeply to the count. And so after a few minutes of deep breathing the real acting began.

‘HELLO EVERYONE’ I cried walking into the room my hands held wide a large grin on my face.
Cupping my hand to my ear I waited for the large ‘Hello Polly’ back.
‘Come on guys a bit louder’ I cried raising my arms up. ‘HELLO POLLY’ They all called back.
‘Is that the best you can do I think my bunny slippers just heard you come on guys loud!’
’HELLO POLLY’.
‘Now that’s the noise I’m talking about!’

‘Right were gonna play a game and I know you all know the rules soooooooooooooo STUCK IN THE MUD, Katie, Lucy your on lets go!’ And so the hall was full of noise and laughter as the children ran round the house screaming and ‘tagging each other’ ‘Right that’s enough lets all gather round.’

Sitting down on the floor I began to speak ‘Now were going to do a little song and dance and I want everyone one of you to try you very hardest with it okay?’
‘Yes Polly’ they nodded back all of there faces smiling with eager excitement.
‘Okay stand up them ladies and gentlemen’

‘I now present you my favourite song Hands up in the air.’ Raising my hands up high in the air I began to sing ‘Put your hands up in the air’ and watched as everyone put there hands up. ‘And shake your bum like you just don’t care, I said put your hands up in the air and shake your bum like you just don’t care. And put your leg in the middle round round and round whooooo. Put your hands up in the air and shake your bum like you just don’t care. And put your leg in the middle round round and round and then you take the one step’ and everyone took a step forward. ‘and take your second step’ another step forward we all went. ‘And put your hands up in the air and shake your bum like you just don’t care.’ ‘As quiet as you can this time’ I held my hand to my lips and we all quietly went. ‘Put your hands up in the air and shake your bum like you just don’t care.’ ‘As loud as you can now guys.’ ‘Put your hands up in the air and shake your bum like you just don’t care!’

‘O wasn’t that fun everyone now were going to play a few games that was a nice warm up wasn’t it.’ And I gave them all a small smile.

1. A group of 5 year old children

Katie had just finished setting up for today's gym class when she heard the unmistakably rowdy noise of a group of 5 year olds approaching. Sure enough, when Katie turned around, she could see their teacher leading them out onto the field.

"They're all yours," she said, looking distinctly relieved to be passing the rowdy children off on someone else.

"Hi everyone!" Katie called out to the group, trying to get them to settle down. A hush briefly fell over the group, and Katie seized on it immediately.

"Today, I've set up a nice little obstacle course for you guys. Who wants to play?"

All the kids jumped up and down, ecstatic at their chance to show off to the others their obstacle course skills.

"Alright, alright, before we get started, let's just go over what you have to do."

This time, a real hush came over the group, as each of the small children focused completely, wanting to be the best.

"First, you have to show off how high you can jump, by hopping over these boxes like a kangaroo," Katie said gesturing to a line of shoeboxes that had been turned upside down on the grass and pretending to be a kangaroo. "I want to see all of your best hoppin' skills!"

Once you get across, you'll have to crawl your way through this tunnel like a snake," said Katie, demonstrating by getting on her stomach and sliding her way through the box.

"After that, you'll need to do the tree-climb walk. All you have to do is step between the rungs of this ladder, making sure you don't touch the wood," she said, demonstrating again on the ladder lying flat on the ground.

"Once you get through that, you'll need to run to the orange cone," she pointed to a cone about ten feet further on, "and balance for five seconds. And I mean, five whole seconds, Mississippi and everything. I'll know if you don't. Once you do that, you just have to skip back to me here. How does that sound?"

"Good, good," squealed all the little kids.

"Okay, let's split up into five groups of three each and get going," Katie said, dividing the class into three and putting each group onto a separate course.

"Alright...on your mark....get set....GO!" shouted Katie.

Off the kids sprang, hopping over the various obstacles with a great amount of determination on their faces as they tripped and fell over. Katie cheered them on happily as they went.

4. A football team.

Katie blew the whistle as loud as she could, gathering the players around her.

"Alright, guys. We're gonna have a great game today, I can feel it! Let's go ahead and get started on the warm up, okay? Let's start with the usual: jog one lap around the field."

The team took off, ponytails bouncing behind them as they jogged around.

"Great, now let's jog in place and get those arms moving." Katie began jogging in place, making large circular movements to really get the blood flowing.

"Awesome job! Now everyone grab a ball." The whole team took soccer balls and came back to the centre. "Now let's tap on ball with each foot. Slowly," Katie emphasised, demonstrating again.

"Alright, let's pick up the pace a bit...and a bit more...a bit more." The team slowly gathered speed until they were tapping as fast as they could. One player tripped on the ball and fell over.

"That's okay, Sarah. Not too fast next time!

Katie let them continue while she went and set up a circle of cones, about 20 yards in diameter. When she was done, she blew the whistle at them again and they all came over to the circle, a little out of breath.

"Great, everyone get in a circle, keeping an arm's length between each other. Awesome, now we're going to job in to the centre of the circle, bringing our knees up as high as they can go."

Katie joined them, jogging and bringing her knees up as high as she could.

"Perfect! Now let's do some lunges. Come on, girls, you can go deeper than that. Really feel that burn!"

Katie laughed as she heard some of them groan as they tried to go deeper into the stretch.

"Great job everyone! That should be enough for today. Go ahead and practice your dribbling and the game will start in five!"

7. A group of actors

Katie clapped her hands together to get the attention of the actors.

"Alright, everyone. I know we're all excited for a fantastic opening show tonight! Let's just get started on our warm-ups please. Let's start by getting loosened up. Everyone shake their limbs out."

Katie shook her arms and legs out, relaxing them and letting them go where they please.

"Now tense up!"

Everyone stopped moving and tensed every muscle in their body, including their eyes. Katie counted to fifteen slowly.

"Great, now let it all out. Feeling looser?"

Everyone nodded.

"Let's raise our arms up as high as they go! Really really, reach, you can do it! John, I know you can reach higher than that."

John scowled, but reached higher anyway.

"Okay, let's bend over, until you're almost touching your toes. And relax, let yourself just hang there. Now grab your elbows--still bending over--and swing gently back and forth. Perfect, you guys are rockstars! Last but not least, let's get those mouths warmed up."

Katie began yawning over exaggeratedly with her mouth. The students followed suit, all looking ridiculous. She then formed her mouth into a giant O. Some of the students giggled, but Katie ignored them until they copied her. She finished up with some tongue twisters. Finally satisfied, Katie clapped her hands again.

"Awesome, now let's go have a great show!"
