Plaster models of horses.

2. Why did you start collecting this?

Because of the nobility that I admire in a horse.

About five years ago.

A model of an Arabian Thoroughbred.

Anywhere I could.

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?

A good question. They're all either very cute, or absolutely gorgeous!

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?

By buying more, and warn my brother not to stand on them again.

I started to collect them when I had just started riding and saw the Arabian sitting rather forlornly on a shelf in a newsagent's. I bought him, and then looked at some of the others there. Gradually, I just bought them, and they now sit proudly on shelves on my desk! It expanded from one little horse to over 45 now, and I've come to be able to recognise a breed when I see it.

My aunt picked them for me when I was born, and gives me three a year.

A little figurine of a bear in a bassinette, sleeping.

My aunt buys them for me for birthdays, and special events in my life.
6. What is your favourite item in your collection?
I love my sailor teddies, in the first picture. : ]
7. How do you plan to extend your collection?
I am not sure how far I plan to extend it, as they stopped making these a while ago and they are quite expensive now.

Well, I got my first Cherished teddy when I was born. A little baby bear in a bassinette. Since then, every year on my birthday untill my tenth, I got the birthday bear for the year I was turning. Also, on very special events, my aunt gave me one. I got one for graduating kindergarden, one for making the cheer squad. When I lost my first tooth, I got one to put the tooth in, a little fairy on a tooth. When I was a flowergirl in my aunts wedding, I got one that looked like a bride. Also, for christmas and other holidays, I get one, just one to collect for fun, like my sailor ones, my baby bears, and the wagon set.

1. What do you collect?

Beanie Kids.

2. Why did you start collecting this?

I got one as a present and became attached to them. They're so adorably cuddly...

3. When did your collection start?

About 2002. I think. Maybe 2001.

4. What was your first item in your collection?

Well I originally got a Gifted Bear with my name on it, but it's not technically a Beanie Kid - so, it was a Water Farie called Trickle or something similar.

5. Where did you get the items?

Shops - newsagents, chemists, specialist stores. There's a place called "The Beanie Cave"!

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?

Well it's hard to name one... I love Prince the Bear. He has his own seat - a throne, as I like to think of it... Then there's the Martian who shares my birthday, and the original babies - my namesake and Trickle. But of course you have to love Marie Antoinette and Robin and Maid Marion. Oh, and Bill! He's a platypus!

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?

Buy more, I suppose. I'm not in a mad rush to have a large collection, there are people with HUNDREDS of them, and I'm sitting on perhaps sixty and one Cuddly Kid (Who is a ballerina!) so we'll see.

8. Write a short paragraph on the history of your collection.

It started out that fateful Christmas... And then, after I had thoroughly fallen in love with my bear, I saw that there were more, with so much personality and pazazz that I needed more. So I started with weekly walks up to the local shops, where they sold Beanie Kids, and after that... well, I bought them from everywhere: Camps, holiday places, shopping trips. I have several cards on which you collect stamps until you get a free bear, and also many collectors books with lists of current and 'retired' bears - retired bears are rare and worth more, and I happen to own quite a few.

1. What do you collect?
Well I could always do a common one of books or music or movies. But I have a small collection of Madame Alexander dolls. So I’ll do them.

2. Why did you start collecting this?
Uhm, well when I was young my parents got me one and I thought it was really cute so I got a few more and called it a collection. XD

3. When did your collection start?
When I was around 8 or so.

4. What was your first item in your collection?
A ‘Get Well Soon’ doll dressed as a nurse with a teddy bear.
I don’t remember if I was actually sick when I got this, but I liked it either way. xD

5. Where did you get the items?
They can be bought either on their site online or at a store nearby.

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?
My favorite one would have to be this old doll that once belonged to my mother, and before her my grandmother. It show’s its age and the clothes are yellowing a bit, but it’s still really special to me.

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?
Well I’m not just going to go out and buy 50 Madame Alexander Dolls—they can get pretty expensive. But if I see a special one and I have the money I’ll pick it up. It’s not a huge collection, and I intend to keep it small.

One Christmas morning when I was 7 or 8, I unwrapped a small blue box to find a gorgeous delicate doll sitting in pink tissue paper dressed up as a nurse. I’m not exactly sure why I received a doll as a nurse. I was probably sick. Or maybe I was just really into nurses and doctors. I don’t know, I was a weird kid. It could have been anything.
Anyway, I loved the doll and as I got older I received more dolls for holidays and birthdays and such and over the years they just kind of built up. Although when I was younger I just saw them as dolls and something I wanted to play with, now they’re more special and sentimental. I don’t really want to dress them up anymore. XD

1. What do you collect?

2. Why did you start collecting this?
To be fair, my family really started this collection for me. When I was little, my aunt and uncle went on a trip to Mexico, and brought me back two matching dolls as a souvenir. So on, when family members traveled to foreign countries, they bought me dolls, and to this day I still receive some when someone I know goes to another country.

I was about four or five

4. What was your first item in your collection?
Two dolls dressed in typical mexican outfits

5. Where did you get the items?
My aunt and uncle got them from Mexico

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?
It would have to be the porcelain doll my grandparents got for me when they went to Prince Edward Island - it is an Anne of Green Gables doll, which is my favorite book series.

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?
By traveling more, or asking for people to bring me back one (I now sometimes pay for them) when they go away on a trip

8. Write a short paragraph on the history of your collection
As I previously said, this collection started when my aunt and uncle brought me back dolls as a souvenir from their travels. They are not collection dolls per say - not the kind that you buy in a magazine, in porcelain with fancy clothes and soft curls. Some of them are, but most are made of fabric, others of plastic, and there's even one made of wood and one made of beads. This whole collection has been contributed to by many people, sometimes even friends of family, like my aunt's coworker who comes from Portugal and brought me back one after visiting her family one summer, and one that my mother's boss brought back from Russia (those nesting dolls). To this day, I've contributed three dolls to this collection - one from a small town nearer to the center of Quebec when I was younger, another one, dressed as a native American, that I bought while visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona, in 2006, and finally, a doll that I got during my trip to London in 2008.

1. What do you collect?
Well, I collect a lot of book/music but i think I'm going to go with figurines and Harry Potter related items.

2. Why did you start collecting this?
My mom bought me this series of figurines where each one has a number for your age and the children get older and older so you can get one for every single one of your birthdays. I loved them when I was little so I eventually just kept getting more. And the Harry Potter items just came along with my obsession.

3. When did your collection start?
Hmm...I got my first few figurines when I four and I started collecting Harry Potter items after the movies came out and you could buy them. (;

A little girl figurine holding a baby doll.

5. Where did you get the items?
I usually get the figurines while I'm on vacations or if I happen to be in a little shop that has something I really like and the HP items usually come from noblecollection.

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?
I think my favorite would have to be Hermione's wand, the Time Turner or my ballerina figurine...hard to pick really.

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?
I'm going to continue to buy figurines while on vacations and hopefully save up enough money to get a few more things off of noblecollection.

8. Write a short paragraph on the history of your collection.
I recieved my first figurine when I was four and got another one for each of my birthdays until I was nine and then I started buying them when I was on vacation as well. My mom also collects so together we've built up a collection. My personal favorites stay in my room while my mom has some on display. Once my HP obsession began, I begged my mom for a wand and eventually she gave in. I got my time turner for my thirteenth birthday and the Monster Book of Monster for Christmas a year or two ago. I also have some HP figurines that I've gotten at my birthday.

2. Why did you start collecting this? I started collecting this stuff because I am obsessed with Harry Potter
3. When did your collection start? I started collecting the books at age 13 and the trading cards at age 8

6. What is your favourite item in your collection? My Portuguese harry potter books and all my trading cards
7. How do you plan to extend your collection? I plan to get the rest of the uk editions of harry potter and finish my set of trading cards
8. Write a short paragraph on the history of your collection I started collecting when I was 8 and 13 because I discovered Harry and the books and absolutely fell in love with them. I am forever greatful to ms rowling because whenever I come home from a day of being completely bullied, I read the books. I also go through my trading card collection daily.

1. What do you collect?

I'm a complete and total GOOB! After staring at everyone's collection for like the 1000th time, I just realized I DO collect something. I LOVE keychains.

2. Why did you start collecting this?

I have no idea why I actually started collecting. I believe looking at someone's keychains can help you figure out a person. Whenever I go somewhere, I typically buy a keychain. It's small, cheap, and easy memory.

3. When did your collection start?

Probably around 17 when I got my first car and license. I just placed a keychain on it and it grew. Granted, I loved keychains before then and had them, I just never had a key to put on them.

4. What was your first item in your collection?

In my 11th grade year, I was in AP classes. Since we did a lot on New Orleans, our class went to New Orleans for the day (which was supposed to be a weekend, but the school got mad at the last minute...) and went to the Audubon Aquarium. I got my first official keychain there.

5. Where did you get the items?

The Audubon Aquarium.

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?

We went to the mall and I asked for my name in a letter badge thing. So it had my name and the meaning on my name, which means "from the castle." It's also of Scottish origins.

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?

For my birthday or Christmas, I ask family members if they have no idea why to get me, get me stuffed animals or keychains. They never do. So I just buy them when I go places.

I started collecting keychains because I thought they were beautiful. They marked where you had been, places you loved, things that meant something to you, and they were gifts. I love all my keychains and each one means something to me. I have one that came from my graduation cap from high school (2012!) and one from the aquarium. I have keychains that are my favorite animals and some they tell of my school, where I shop (which might not be a good thing), and places I have been.

Forgive me for not having most of them. After moving away from home, my mother kept some so I get to redo my whole collection. I do have my favorites though!

I collect trading pins from Walt Disney World.

2. Why did you start collecting this?
Marie bought a bunch of them on e-bay because she heard that cast members in the parks had lanyards and you could trade. So, we brought some and from the first trade I was hooked. It's a sick game.

During my first trip in November 2012.

4. What was your first item in your collection?
... I really don't know? The first one I remember trading to keep is my 'cute' Eeyore (pictured below with his little hand in front of his mouth).

5. Where did you get the items?
I buy pins in bulk online and then trade them with cast members at Disney for ones I want. Sometimes, I also pay sticker price for ones I really want.

6. What is your favourite item in your collection?
Ahhh... That's so hard. I really love my Haunted Mansion pins. But also my Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh pin. And Ghost Mickey.

7. How do you plan to extend your collection?
I'm going to buy more pins and trade them for pins I like.

As I said, Marie bought some pins in bulk online. Mostly these pins are just random and usually ones that you can buy really cheap in the parks. They're not really all that desirable most of the time, which is good because it makes them easier to trade. So I got a lanyard, put some on and went into the parks. You can trade with anyone with a lanyard on (with the exception of special colored lanyards for which the cast members only trade with children). I just started trading for whatever I liked with a special focus on all things Winnie the Pooh and then later Cars. Basically, we've bought several sets of pins online and I've traded them. I've still got about probably 20 to trade my next trip, but I'm sure we'll buy more.

I collect my wizard of oz toys because it is fun. I think it would be cool to get more stuff. I want more stuff. I even created a diorama of wizard of oz for fun.
