Dare the Master

First topic message reminder :

Holly placed the sign "Dare the Master" on the table top and sat on one of the two vacant seats behind it.
She was in behind a portrait on the seventh floor, and ready to be dared.
In front of her was the advertisement she had placed around school and in Hogsmede, "COME DARE THE DARER, Holly Bristol will do just about any dare you dare her to. Three sickles for each dare Holly completes. Seventh floor. First come first serve,"

"You haven't had to live with him." Shadow said darkly.

Hayley nodded thoughtfully, "Touche," she said.

"Try living with three dolls who fight like all heck," said Natalie, grinning, "but you gotta love them...they are just so cute."

"We really have to watch what we say around Shaeman. He can go into a demonic fury in five seconds." Shadow said.

"Really," said Natalie, looking at the boy, "ok...I'll keep certain things to myself, and my dolls."

"Well, no insults, nothing he can take the wrong way, no teasing, no nicknames, no mention of anything evil on this world. I don' t want him getting ideas." Shadow said, counting things off her fingers.

"Ok..so those are the forbidden topics....what does he like to talk about?" Natalie asked.

Hayley watched the conversation, making a mental note not to mention all the things Shadow had mentioned.

"That's a very good question, because he still hasn't really gripped english yet. He can speak russian and Latin no problem, but he still prefers to speak in demonic." Shadow said, sighing.

"I cant speak demonic," Holly pointed out, for the benefit of no one.

"Sorry, demonic has never been made into a phrase book." Shadow said, shrugging.

"They should," Holly said thoughtfully, "Maybe you and Raven could make one. That would be cool."
She grinned and George nodded enthusiastically.

"Er... I don't think so, people tend to freak about demons." SHadow said.

"Ah. I suppose thats understandable,"
Holly glanced quickly at Shadow.
"No i mean....like you hear things. But none of the people who dont like demons have met you....you know what i mean....i hope"

"The entire school know we're demonic." Shadow pointed out.

Holly tried to think of something sensible to say, but just couldnt find the words.
"They are all checkerboards then," she ended up saying.

"But alas...the world doesn't....and I don't just mean the muggles," said Natalie, looking over at the boy again.

"Huh?" Holly asked, scared.

"The world doesn't know she's part demon," explained Natalie.

"Er... yeah, I had to register at the ministery." Shadow said, staring at the floor.

"At least its legal," Holly said shrugging, "And who cares what the world thinks? I hate the world anyway...,"

Shadow smiled slightly, grateful for her friend's support.

Holly smiled back, but then stopped suddenly.
"I hate the world," she repeated, and drifted off.

"Me too." Shadow said softly.

Holly nodded absently.
"Why do you hate the world?" she asked after a moment of silence.

"Guess." Shadow muttered darkly.

Holly nodded, understanding.
"Mm....,"

Shadow sighed, summoning a book and beginning to read.

Knowing that people usually got annoyed when she read over their shoulder, Holly looked away, eventually summoning her own book, which she had written herself, about how to prank people, and how to be "Street Smart".

Shadow flicked a page in her dusty tome, looking for a certain spell amongst all the Synari runes that the book had been written in. She hovered a few feet of the ground, her legs crossed in a lotus position.

Holly cocked her head to the side, a Holly thing to do, and asked "Whatcha readin'?"

"Spells of the deamonic blood." Shadow said.

"Aaaaaah," Holly said, "Awesome. There are a COUPLE of good things about being half demon....right?"

Shadow thought carefully.
"Not really."

"Oh," Holly said, disappointed, "But still, all you need is music, writing, and a Holly,"

Shadow smiled slightly.
"True."

Holly laughed.
"I didnt think that would work," she said honestly.

"You do realise that I knly said that to keep you in a good mood." Shadow pointed out teasingly.

Holly opened her mouth in apparent horror.
"THE IDEA!" she yelled and turned away from Shadow in huff.
She then turned around again grinning.

Shadow had one eyebrow raised and a faintly amused expression on her face.

Holly couldnt help but burst out laughing at the look on Shadow's face.
"You kid," Holly said shoving her lightly.

Shadow fell backwards out of the air, landing in a tangled heap of black cloak on the ground.
"Not funny." Came a muffled, but grumpy Shadow's voice as she untangled herself.

Holly snorted, but helped her back up again.

"Thanks." Shadow said.

"Nadda' botha'," Holly said in a cockney accent, despite the fact she was Irish....

Shadow raised an eyebrow again, before rolling her eyes.

Holly grinned.
"So Shadow. I hear tell that you and Riley were messing around behind the greenhouses yesterday after dark?"

"Do you mean "messing around" as in kicking his butt at a game of chess?" Shadow said.

Holly looked scared.
"I didnt think you were doing anything, I just had to check,"
She laughed.
"He always sucked at chess,"

"Big time." Shadow groaned. "Five minutes in, I had half his pieces off the board."
