The Rebelious Journey

Herbology lesson had just ended, and Hayley's class were leaving the Greenhouse. Hayley glanced around made sure no one was watching, and grabbed Holly's arm. "C'mere," she whispered. She looked over to the Forbidden Forest. "Let's be rebels, and go for a wee walk...." she trailed off smiling, hoping no one else had saw.

"I think I know...and it's ripping you up inside...." muttered Natalie, finally having worked it out.

"Holly," Shadow threatened. "I really don't like this, but if you don't tell us, I'll have to force you to."

"Shadow....I think I know why," Natalie whispered, so that only Shadow could hear her, "I think it's because she has to decide between Riley and Matt and it is eating her up inside."

"What? What are you saying?" Holly asked threateningly.

Shadow bristled, like a wolf raising its hackles.
"I mean what I say."

"Oh nothing...nothing," said Natalie innocently.

"Force me to?" Holly repeated, "You wouldnt ...."
But she wasnt so sure.

"It's ok Holly...I know...you don't have to hide it anymore," said Natalie quietly.

"Hide what?" Holly asked.

"That you're torn," said Natalie simply.

"Between?" Holly urged, wanting to know herself.

"Riley and Matt," said NAtalie, "I know you more than liked Riley as a friend, and now Matt is here you want something more than friendship with him but yet you still wonder do you love Riley."

Shadow waited patiently for an answer from Holly.

Natalie sat down on the tree-stump nearest her.

Natalie looked at Shadow.

"Where are we...I really should know...but are we near the Thestrals....cause I sort of wanted to visit them," said Natalie, smiling slightly.

"Lets visit them," Holly said quickly, "Yeah, good idea."

Natalie grinned happily.

Holly grinned like a big happy thing.

"Ok, let's go then." Shadow said.

"Lets do that!" Holly agreed, "Sorry what are we doing again?"

"Going to see the thestrals," Natalie reminded her.

"Thank you, I need to be reminded sometimes," she said knowingly, "LETS GO!"

"YAY!" yelled Natalie happily.

They saw the thestrals, said "cool" and went away again.

Natalie scowled at Holly and went to stroke the nearest one.

Holly scowled back and stroked one.
"Oi!" she said, "Who have you seen die mate?"

"There is alot you don't know about in my life Holly," said Natalie simply.

"Ooh." Holly said, "Right."

Natalie got onto the Thestrals back in one swift, graceful movement.

Shadow followed Natalie's movements.
"THey're like my pegasus, just a lot skinnier." She said.

Holly nervously stepped up onto the thestral, biting her lip.
"I dont like these things," she muttered.

Natalie looked at Holly.
"Once you get past the whole death thing, they're fine really..." said Natalie comfortingly.
Natalie grinned at Shadow.
"You're great on a horse...I've seen you on pegasus...very graceful," complimented Natalie.

"Thanks." Shadow said. "I've had Merlas since she was a newborn."

Natalie grinned.
"Ah..the magestic one," Natalie remembered.

"Yeah, the black." Shadow agreed.

Natalie grinned sadly.
"That's the one you flew away on when you went back to your dimension for a while," said Natalie.

((DEPRESSED AND IN PAIN! AHHHHHHHH))

"I still think this is weird," Holly mumbled, "Where to then kids?"

Shadow nodded sadly before she shook her head.
"Anyway, I'm not planning on going back."

"Good," said Natalie happily, but seriously, "because it was hell...not having you here."

Shadow smiled.
"Glad to know you missed me."

"I missed you too!" Holly said grinning.

Natalie smiled back.
"Glad you're back," she smiled.

Shadow grinned before urging her mount on and up into the sky.

Holly whimpered and followed her.

Natalie did the same in an almost equally graceful fashion as Shadow...but not quite.

Shadow's hair had unraveled from it's usual tight plait to stream along behind her as she laughed out loud.

Natalie caughed up with Shadow and shot her a grin.
"Nice technique," she said, grinning.

Shadow grinned back at Natalie.

Natalie urged her thestral on, trying to keep up with Shadow.

Holly moaned something and jumped off her thestral before it got too far.

Natalie looked down at Holly.

"Did you fall?" Natalie asked her.
