The posts can begin on Wednesday 9th January
and will end on Sunday 13th January - 5 days of rpg posting!

When
you post - please put your position and team (eg. Gryffindor Beater) in
brackets before you begin the RPG post - otherwise your post will be
void of any points!

Concentrate on building your points up and please read how the matches are scored!

Weather: Beginning of January, the cold is at its peak!

Remember
to observe the new Quidditch rules: day one is for arriving to the
pitch, after which the referee will post and the game can properly
begin and chasers can no longer immediately state that they have
scored. They must wait for the Keeper to post. See the howler in the
main forum for more info.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

Erika stood still, mindlessly watching the blinking lights of her alarm-clock. It continued to shine long after she pressed the Snooze Button. The light shined and illuminated her brown eyes to a bright amber. Finally she came to her senses, noticing her surroundings; Looking out the window the bright light of the white sun shone through blinding at the sight. She reached for the window, pressing her palm against the frozen glass. A cold shiver ran down her spine.

"January..." She muttered to herself, it was the beginning of the New Year and a good start for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. In third place, things weren’t going too hot- she didn’t understand why Gryffindor wasn’t last but she kept herself quiet. Focused and on topic Erika threw on a strapless top, throwing on a sweatshirt along with pants. What did it matter? She would be changing anyways.

As she made it to the locker room, she strapped her pads on and threw on an extra jacket for warmth. Erika walked out to the pitch, mounted her broom and flew up into the cold skies. She balanced on her stomach, holding her head in her palms waiting. Erika was silent and thought to herself, ideas of moves drifting throughout her hazed eyes. She then flew to the other side of the pitch gaining speed and becoming accustomed to the cold breeze.

(COMMENTATOR)

Ooh, it was cold! Elana couldn't stop her violent shivers, and wasn't looking forward to being outside for so long today. This was one of those days meant to stay inside playing Scrabble and reading by the fire. Sigh. With a deep breath, she quickly unwrapped her blanket to retie her scarf. Her chin warmer now, she pulled up the blanket, wondering when there was going to be some action to commentate.

"I said brr, it's cold in here!" Elana sang absently as she pulled her brilliantly blue blanket around her more tightly. Hearing the answering, "There must be some Clovers in the atmosphere!" come from the crowd, she grinned. Maybe the cold wouldn't kill the game after all! Although she hoped she'd remember that the mic was on next time she started singing. But until then...

"Oh e oh e oh!"

From the stands, "Ice, ice, ice!"

"Here we go!"

Conveniently, Erika flew out onto the pitch at that very moment. Very convenient. "Here we have Erika of Gryffindor! But I don't know what position she plays..." Elana said pointedly, nodding to Erika's missing name tag. (aka, put your position at the top of your post! ^^) "But we have a Gryffindor on the pitch! Let's hear it, Gryffindor!" The Gryffindor stand practically exploded with cheers, along with a few other patches of Gryffindor supporters. Now, thought Elana, we just need a Slytherin on the pitch, and then we can have a cheering war...

She closed her eyes and shook her head, not knowing where the sudden Bring It On vibes were coming from. But at least it was temporarily distracting people from the bitter cold! Elana racked her brain for another cheer, hoping the game would start soon and stop her from embarrassing herself any more.

(Gryffindor Beater)

Pamela somehow managed to drag herself out of bed. "Cripes. How am I supposed to fly around and whack stupid balls at people when I can barely even hold my eyes open?" Shivering, she made her way to her trunk. "Cold, cold. Bare feet, stupid idea." Thankfully no one was around to truly notice her moderate incoherence. It had been a long past couple months what with new developments in life, uncertain match schedules, all that good stuff. It was no reason to fail miserably in her position, though. She was determined to do better during the rest of the term. The hard part would be facing her teammates. She wondered if any were at the pitch yet.

After getting thoroughly bundled up, Pamela headed down toward the Great Hall. She needed to get something on her stomach, so she grabbed a couple pieces of toast. Then she slopped some scrambled eggs between them with a slice of cheese. In her other hand she carried a glass of orange juice. That would be good enough for on the go. She was finished with all of the food by the time she got to the locker room. Hopefully it would carry her through the game. "Cold. Heavens I hate the cold," she muttered to herself as she mounted her broom. Kicking off into the air, she gradually made her way toward Erika. "Hey there. Please don't hate me for my utter failure recently. I've been in a crazy place lately." Pamela was ashamed of her recent behaviour, but what could she do. She'd just have to keep going.

(Referee)

Raistlin rushed to the pit carrying the wooden box with the Quidditch Balls. Quickly putting it on
the ground and tipping it with his wand it flew open and the balls went soaring.

Getting up in his broom he flew to the middle of the pitch, released the Quaffle and blew the whistle.

"Game started!"

(Gryffindor Chaser)

Pamela flew gradually through the cold thin air. Erika held herself with one hand as she pulled her scarf tighter warming her neck. She moved her earmuffs, donated by the wonderful Herbology class in support of the Gryffindor team, over her frozen ears. Carefully she listened trying to comprehend the words falling out of Pam's mouth into the sky. The clouds swallowed the words each letter at a time making Erika's task quiet difficult.

"Tha-a-a-ts o-o-ka-a-ay!" She assured her teeth rattling. A cold blast of spine tingling wind slapped Erika in the face. She winced holding her arms. Shouting, she continued- slowly her voice calmed and her teeth seemed to rattle less. "I-i-im sure we-e-e will win. We ju-u-st need to sta-a-y focused." Erika smiled, her teeth matching the white sky.

Raistlin ran onto the pitch, throwing up the balls he shouted the calling of battle. She mounted her broom tightening her scarf again. Racing to the center she lifted her stiff arms, caught the Quaffle, and tucked the leather bomb under her arm out of sight. This is called phase one of The Lion's Prowl. She would slowly crouch closer to the rings where the opposing Keeper kept their guard. Confused as they watched and searched for the moving chaser Erika would pounce like a lion.

(COMMENTATOR)

"Welcome to the pitch, Pam!" Elana exclaimed. "Isn't it great to see this Gryffindor Beater back on the pitch?" The crowd of Gryffindors and Gryffie supporters agreed, judging from their cheers as the Beater flew up into the sky. In no time at all, Rai came to start the game. "Alrighty, folks, it's what we've all been waiting for! Well, okay, maybe we would've liked it if the Slytherins had shown up, but there's still time." Rai opened the box and the balls soared out of it and into the sky! "The game has begun! Erika loses no time in securing the Quaffle, and with nothing to block her from scoring except a few Bludgers, she has almost a clear shot!"

(Gryffindor Beater)

Pamela was thrilled when she heard the cheers from the crowd. She hadn't expected such a warm welcome. Quite the opposite in fact. Well, in a sense she had gotten the opposite welcome, but that was from Mother Nature. Anyway, Pamela was fairly certain the weather wasn't a personal attack on her for having been M.I.A.

She listened hard for Erika's reply to Pamela's apology. It sounded like an acceptance. Pamela decided to take it as such. "Let's kick some snake-tail, Erika!" Well, that was what she'd intended to shout. Instead it came out in stutters and a cracking voice. Maybe it would be unwise in this cold to shout. Or talk. Or be outside for that matter. Honestly, what was wizarding kind thinking. Why do we do this to ourselves? Of course, she knew the answer. It's fun, competition is great, and because there's nothing quite like the feeling of soaring through the air, nothing but a thin piece of wood keeping you from breaking your neck. And of course, it's nice to get an excuse to be quite violent without getting into trouble. As long as your violence didn't overstep any bounds.

As she was rolling these thoughts around in her mind Pamela saw Rai, the new headmaster, make his way onto the pitch. Shortly thereafter, the balls were off. Pamela began to shoot straight for a bludger. She stopped herself, though, wondering where on Earth she would send it. There were no Slytherins on the pitch yet. Well, she couldn't just sit there. That would make for a quite boring day for the spectators. She began to take off again toward a bludger, wondering exactly what she would do when she got to it. She decided to go with a Bludger Tap-Trap. To be truthful, she wasn't sure if it would work. She'd never actually tried the move. It was simple enough. All you had to do was come up on the bludger and tap it back and forth in front of you with the bat. She just hoped her arm wouldn't get tired before a target arrived, and no other bludger would decide to be naughty.
