Squeeee, it's Quidditch time! :D

.. haha, more like, Quidditch-planning time for the moment xD

This is the list of what we're supposed to do:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think our most Quidditch-experienced are Elana and Jenn. Does anyone disagree with me on this? xD So I put them both forward for Captain (or Co-Captains!) position.

Now, I've only ever played Seeker and Keeper, and I have not played Quidditch for aaaages, so I'll stick with either one of those two. Preferably Seeker. :D

Hummm I'd also like to play Seeker, but I it's ok - we'll have to rotate anyhow, because we have to put up at least 3 formations :D So I guess in the end we'll all get a turn on more or less every position.

So ... I'd play anything ... but preferably not Chaser or Beater in case games happen to be planned in busy periods i.e., exam periods ^^"

aww thanks you guys! *hugs* Although all I did was suggest to find people lol it was Elana and Cris who asked everyone xD So we definitely know that Elana is up there for leader at least lol

For positions, I'd take Chaser, Beater, and Seeker. I'll ask Raist later to see how many games we'll be playing so maybe we could schedule around so you don't have to play Chaser during your exam times xD so far we have

As for the name, we did think of one spur of the moment but *coughs* are we actually going with that one? Or a nicer version of it at least. Lol cause if we are, I say our mascot be of an old man or something lol since we are the oldies

I think I'll be able to Beater as well for the first matches - I think come the end of April, though, I'll only be able to stay with Seeker and/or Keeper. The same probably goes for Amy and Cris xD

Our mascot could be... I quite like the idea of something old. But not old man because we're all girls ^^ And not an old woman either because that just seems odd... *thinks* What about... a TORTOISE. xD (Oh, then the acronym could be Will Kaori Never Age, if we name the tortoise Kaori. Yeah I clearly couldn't think of any better names.... it's a nice name though! xD)

I guess the first thing you need from me is what position I would like to play? Well...you see I have a slight problem. Im mad! Yes, I know - that is news to everyone :D Though I have played one other game of quidditch before and for those who remember it, well I dont think I actually stuck to a position...especially considering david tennant in the tardis joined the back of my broom and hippos danced after me!

I like the attempts at a name, now that I finally understand what it means xD. The Japanese references are nice, though I don't really understand what they mean. Operation: On Top Kicking Ninja Attack <-- Ridiculous, I know, but it might help spur someone else's creativity.

Hey, I'll be the last one to complain about Japanese-y stuff ... though I don't actually understnad them, either ... why has Kaori-san suddenly also got a surname? (besides the fact that, of course, everyone needs a surname, somehow .. out of purely practical reasons XD)

Well I tried asking Raist how many matches we'll have but he's no help xD so I was thinking maybe for the first formation Amy, Swift, or Cris could play either Chaser or Beater since that should be in the beginning of April, and the ones afterwards, you guys can play Seeker or Keeper and someone else can take the Chaser or Beater positions.

But I won't be available at all on the 6th-8th of April (going down to London + flying home). .. um, so Chaser or Beater if it doesn't collide with any of those dates, which we don't know yet. XD

... funny how the tourny hasn't even started yet and I'm on about excuses already. XD

Oh! I also volunteer for drawing up the mascot - should have some spare half an hour this weekend. :D

(OMG, this feels very much like my marketing/ personal skills groupwork projects XD .. at least we don't have to write an essay on this! XD)

I like the customized broom idea. For the wood, I found this site of celtic symbolism and trees: Poplar/aspen stands for victory, transformation, vision; fir is clarity, achievement, energy; oak is for strength, stability, nobility; and alder is endurance, strength, passion. There were other trees listed, but I felt these fit the best. For speed, it would have to be fast, obviously, but I'm not sure of an actual rate. The Firebolt is capable of going from naught to one hundred and fifty miles per hour in ten seconds, so maybe our broom should be a bit faster than that, since it would be newer? I think the name and logo can be decided after everything else about the broom.

Yay!!! Chibi ninja turtles! Maybe we could be sponsored by Flourish and Blotts or Quality Quidditch Supplies? Or we could always come up with our own xD.

I also like the idea of the different wood for different brooms that June provided earlier. I was talking to Elana, how about we have different brooms that have similar styles, but different wood types for different positions and slightly different features of each?

My idea was that it could be designed by Oliver Wood (whome I have connections with xD) and he designed a line of different broomsticks for an ideal team. Like the Chaser's specialty broomstick could be the Woodburn X47, and Beaters are the Woodburn TE47.

If everyone's okay with this idea, I could try to put together the broomstick information later in the week xD

I like the broom ideas! So would they tailor to our needs or to the position we play? I mean, we're not swapping brooms each match, are we? Since we have to swap positions too. If that makes sense.

For the brooms, I think that firstly each person would have a broom personalized to them/their flying style. Then when we switch positions, the brooms can make an automatic change to adapt to the new position while always remaining personalized to us. Does that make sense?

That's exactly what I meant June :D I really like that idea. So - let's say Jenn makes the general broom for each position then we can think of the things that we want to add ourselves to personalise it? Is that okay with you Jenn? For personalising the brooms I'm thinking along the lines of something that shows your personality, flying style, etc. Mostly personality, I think is best.

About the woods - it'd be nice to choose something old too! xD

That's fine by me! Maybe we could all have the same broom style and the automatic changes could be for each position is how the broom is structured. Like the broom could each have a "core" like wands and it could change with each new position we have. I was trying to figure out other little differences like wider tail for Beaters or something but that could change like the wood too xD or does this all seem too complicated?

Also - about the brooms. I've been thinking about it a bit, and while having a good broom for every position/ flying style/ personality seems like a good idea, I think we need to be careful not to make them *too* perfect. Maybe just one broom for each person's flying style would be enough? It might be more interesting, RP-wise, to show how you can cope with a not-so-perfect-and-well-adapted-to-the-position broom, instead of just saying your broom is awesome. :/

... I think this is the time for me to admit I plan a very dramatical game. Think "lots of crashes" - FUNNN!

I agree on what you say about the brooms - so do you think it would be better if we just had the one general broom that is suited to each position, like an all-rounder? Then tweak it yourselves to your own standard, but you can only keep that standard once. Like, you can't change it, ever. Does that make sense? XD

I agree; being too perfect is no fun . I like the idea of having a 'standard' broom, though maybe different woods for different people, and then tweak it to fit yourself and your favorite/most common flying position. And it'll be fun like others have said, to have to RP coping with your broom in an unfamiliar position.

I'll be doing the detailed broom stuff later but just wanted to let everyone know the broom they're getting. I tried to match everyone up with their main position choice or as close as I can. Well, except Elfie because she could be anything. xD I just made her a Beater because I wanted to see the chaos she would cause with a bat lol But don't worry, with the formations, everyone's positions will change but just letting you know your broom stick wood and such.
