Drabble Challenge

I haven't done this in a while - so forgive me, but it was fum

From the first step into the park, the huge castle dominated the skyline. There was no way to miss it. With its great turrets and stone façade it kept everyone’s attention, that and their excitement for the days festivities. As the crowd assembled a tangible energy could be felt in the air – no one said it, but it was clear that years of anticipation and a mutual love for this magical book series united these complete strangers; if just for a day. They could forget any horrible events that happened in recent history and for a day be a living, breathing part of the Potter world.

Amber was so excited to finally get to see the great Harry Potter Theme Park. Everyone had only been talking about it since the news broke that there would be one. The hype surrounding this place was practically unbearable and being able to hear so much about it without seeing it was simply horrible. Once she got inside she was overtaken by all the fantastic sights, the feeling of the place just so positively magical that it seemed unreal. Yes, this was the day that she'd been waiting for and it seemed like it'd just keep getting better.

Kimber ran next to the welcoming sign of the Harry Potter Theme Park, threw her camera to her mom and shouted, "Take a picture!!" She squealed with great excitement at finally going to her dream come true. Walking through the park, everything seemed so realistically magical, from the Hogwarts towers to the Hogsmeade shops. She walked around in awe, gaping at the amazing effort somebody was obviously well-paid for, to make this wonderland come true. The only thing that seemed positively horrible to her, was that she couldn't experience this adrenaline filled moment of her life with her fellow Hogwarts Experience fanatics. (102)

Living in the room at the end of the hall, in a house just like any other, was a girl with a horrible exclamation-point scar. This girl, she lived an ordinary life, and had expected to continue on in this way for much of it. But then something amazingly magical came along, and her world changed forever. It bloomed around her in a form most unexpected – a Harry Potter themed park. Suddenly, she was transported into her eleven-year-old self as she walked through those great gates and beheld a world which had only ever existed in her imagination. And she wondered, ‘where do I sign up for an apartment here?’. [110]
