Family Reunion

Alice had decided she was going to see her father on this day because it worked the best and Stephaine could come with her this day which was one of the things Mathew would not cave on was her going alone. He also refused that if something bad happened he would send help after her. Alice didn't like either of these but understood where he was coming form on them and wouldn't dare fight on the subject more. She could feel her stomach twist in knots as she stood there.
Focus Alice focus you can't let your guard up for even a Mila second she told herself putting up a defense in her mind again. Stephaine came down and stood next to Alice.
"So you are going to try and talk and reason with this man?" She asked not used to a non violent direct approach to everything.
"That's the plan." Alice said looking out into the open she wouldn't face Stephaine not now.
"And Mathew he is ok with this?" she asked clearly unable to comprehend what was going on.
"Yep." Alice replied still refusing to look at her friend because she was afraid she would find things in her that gave away something she would get distracted on and she couldn't afford to be distracted not now.
"What if I like sneeze and accidentally kill him?" Stephaine asked trying to find a way to hurt him.
"You can't kill him" Alice said softly she did not blink not even move talking about this made her frozen.
"We don't know that haven’t tried yet." Stephaine said with a smirk too big to be talking about killing someone she was starting to enjoy other people’s pain more then usual.
"We should be off soon." Alice said trying not to show any emotion through her words or actions but this was impossible.
We are going to be leaving soon Mathew are you ready for this? Alice asked Mathew through her mind wondering if he even remembered.

Ok I will she thought and took a deep breath.
"Ok Stephaine lets head out." Alice said starting to walk.
"Can't you just apperate?" Stephaine asked impatient about walking there clearly.
"Yes but risk spliching I don't think so." Alice said continuing to walk forward.
"Ok well can't you tell me a land mark that is close to it and I can apperate us both?" Stephaine asked rolling her eyes slightly.
"Just keep up with me and we will be there soon." she said before sprinting off.
"Ok" Stephaine stated before charging after her friend. Soon after their frantic run they reached the door of her father’s house. It was old but still looked modern and Alice fretted knocking on the door.
We are here I will tell you if anything happens. Alice told Mathew thinking about how she thought it would work out.

Alice extended her arm and knocked on the door. There was muttering and yelling and she almost wanted to leave. Her father’s house elf opened the door.
"Miss Alice you have returned!" the house elf exclaimed.
"Something like that is my... Father in?" she asked looking at the elf’s eyes hoping he said no.
"Yes follow me." he said leading her into the house and onto the couch.
"Who is it!" she heard her father’s voice sound down the stairs.
"It...it..It’s...a...a...Alice." he stuttered looking down at his feet. that poor thing. Alice thought feeling sorry for the creature.
"Alice?" he asked curious about this she herd footsteps come down the stairs. He came into the living room where Alice was sitting and took a seat across from them.
"What are you here for?" he asked as Alice put up a wall in her mind so he couldn't go through it.
"You know why I am here I need to get married all you need to do is sign these papers and I will be out of your hair for good." Alice stated trying to show no emotions Stephaine however had a scowl directed to him and was standing up instead of sitting down like Alice was. Alice's father pulled out his wand and waved it towards Stephaine and she flew back and the door closed and locked after her so she was locked in another room.
"No I don't think I want you out of my hair." he stated looking into her eyes with his cold red eyes. Alice looked away unable to stand his look.
"Well what if I made I deal all I need is to get married what do you want from me?" she asked tapping her fingers on the table. There was banging from the door behind them and shouting as well.
"Your friend is so annoying." he stated getting his wand out again.
"Stephaine calm you." Alice stated and the noise stopped before her father had time to send a spell out.
He isn't going to come easy on this. she told Mathew taking a deep breath waiting for any ideas suddenly she didn't know what to say she didn't have an idea of how to approach this.

Alice nodded listening to Mathew she just needed to weasel her way through it.
"Hmmm what do I want from you?" he asked clarifying.
"Yes what you want from me?" she asked repeating herself. Her father got up and walked around the room.
"You have gotten better at deflecting my abilities." he said getting closer to her a shiver went down Alice's spine as his hand landed on her shoulder.
"Stop changing the subject." she stated looking over at him.
"Why are you going to get so defensive?" he asked still walking around her.
"Just answer my first question." she insisted refusing to give into his games.
"I will in due time child but first you have to answer my questions." he said with a sinister smile.
"Shoot." Alice said trying to get this over fast.
"Why do you want to get married so badly?" he asked and this shocked Alice she was expecting a different type of question. This caused her to drop her defenses and he sprung at the chance searching through her mind. Alice bit her tongue to stop from yelling she was sure he was making as painful as he could for her.
"Get out of my head!" she screamed gripping her head and falling to her knees. About half way through though she managed to stop him
"Impressive." he said getting the information he wanted out of her and this annoyed Alice.
"What do you want from me?" she asked tapping her fingers keeping up her defenses.
Mathew be prepared he might have gained information about you. she told him through her thoughts worried about it all.

"Haven't you realized I either want you under my control in pain or dead so as far as letting you have what you want I doubt that will happen." Her father said and Alice took a deep breath.
"Do what you have to do to be able to do what you want to do." she mumbled to herself.
"Ok so where can we draw the line we need a compromise." Alice suddgested as Stephaine began to get rowdy about being trapped in a room unable to be there.
"Correction you need a compromise." her father said opening the door and Stephaine fell down not expecting it to open. She walked over to Alice's dad starring at him ready to kill him if needed.
"How about a year." he suddgested looking away from Stephaine.
"A year of what!" Stephaine growled her lip curling.
"A year of you doing what I want for example I want you to kill that person for Me." he said in general and this appalled Alice.
"Are you mad?!" she asked standing up.
"You don't think you got it from your mother did you?" he asked with a slight laugh at the end. She walked over to him her wand pressing against his chin ready to send a spell.
"Don't talk about my mother like that." she stated through gritted teeth. Stephaine pushed Alice back wanting to be the one to fight him. He smirked.
"Kill me I would like to see you try."
"Sign the papers first." Alice said sitting back down on the couch.

Mathew this is no use he is completely mental all he wants is control and to cause pain his compromise was...was completely incomprehensible Stephaine wants to kill him which there is no way she could which would only start a bigger thing and all of this ending in still not getting married. Alice thought trying to focus but it was getting incredibly difficult. Stephaine shot a spell at her father having him fall into a wall but getting up to fast for how powerful the spell was.
Stephaine just shot him with a spell this is going to be interesting don't panic though I’m sure things will work out. Alice thought getting up out of her chair to get a better view of things.

Mathew you are brilliant! she thought to Mathew’s suddgestion surely her father would be ok with this.
"Wait." she said holding up her hands to keep Stephaine and her father from going at each other more.
"Would it help for you to know that the man I want to marry is Voldemorts grand child?" she asked with a sinister smile trying to make this as convincing as possible.
"You don't say maybe there is hope for you." he said looking over at Alice. Stephaine refused to put her wand down just in case but her father seemed to be calmed by this.
"Is he anything like his grand dad?" he asked sitting back down at the couch and Alice followed sitting across from him.
"Oh surely you don't think I would go out and find a man who wanted to be an aurora and whose mother is in the order do you?" she asked rolling her eyes convincingly.
"You know people say you end up being with people like your father." she said and Stephaine sat down as the intensity calmed down.
"I will have to meet this boy if you want those papers signed." he said his red eyes piercing into her skull.
"NO! I mean surely you don't want to waste your time dealing with these matters when you could be doing something else with your time." she said trying to recover after her outburst but now her father was suspicious.

Fake memories come on fake memories. she thought in a rush to make Mathew seem evil incase her father decided to go looking through her mind.
"Look at me!" her Father demanded and she did as told and then there was a piercing stinging in her head as he dug through her head.
"STOP!" she screamed falling to her knees once again and soon the pain stopped and she regained her composure once again.
"Your story checks out but I still want to meet him after all you are my daughter you have great abilities as far as blocking others from your mind." he said waiting for her response.
He wants to meet you to make sure I am not lying about anything... Mathew you can't meet him he will figure everything out. she thought trying to figure out how to get around this.
"You know he is busy working on how to bring his grandfather back from the dead would you want to interrupt that?" Stephaine said filling in for Alice.
"Yes I would that would take years a few minutes would not interrupt his work too much." her father said and they waited for anyone to say something but they were all speechless.

No Mathew you are not meeting him I will negotiate around it I don't want him getting your scent. she thought to him sternly.
"Sign the papers and then you can meet him." Alice said looking over to her father.
"You are lying then!" he said fiercely standing up.
"No he really is voldemorts grand son I promise you this." she said truly meaning it because this was the truth.
"Let meet him them." her father insisted trying to weasel everything out of her.
"In due time father." she said a bit manipulative.
"Soon!" he insisted which she thought was odd usually he would have moved on by now.
"A week." Alice negotiated. Her father shook his head.
"Two days top." Alice bit her lip was this too soon?
"Deal." Stephaine stated knowing it wasn't going to get better then that.
Mathew you have two days I sure hope that is enough time. she thought to Mathew smiling politely.
"See you then?" she asked wondering if her father would let her be there.
"No he shall be alone." her dad stated with a serious face.
"I wouldn't even confront you alone why would he come alone?" she asked thinking this was all a bit unreasonable there had to be a trap involved.
"He may come with people but I doubt he will leave with them or at all." her dad said and she took a deep breath either way it would be no use.
"We will see." Stephaine stated looking at Alice’s worried face.

he wants you to come alone Mathew we can't do that I won't allow you to come here alone I hope we are crafty enough to pull this off. she thought biting her lip.

He wants you alone but I am coming with you think about it he has to be planning something otherwise he wouldn't care about you being alone or how many days he knows we are lying. Alice thought something wasn't right here and she was going to find it out.
"Ok but first." she paused motioning for the house elf to come over and it did as commanded.
"Yes Miss Alice?" he asked shaking concerned for his own safety. She pulled off her sweater and gave it to him his eyes lit up but was slightly confused.
"You are free from him go." she commanded but he just stood there not believing what was happening.
"You can't do that!" her father commanded and her smile was smug.
“He belongs to the family and I am part of it so I do have the right to free him from your grasp. You shall no longer hurt any more people and I will see to this myself." she said standing up and heading toward the door.
"You lost me my slave!" he screamed standing up and blocking her from the door. Alice walked around him.
"Face it old man you have no wife no family the parts of family you have left want to kill you, you lost your house elf and you sit alone devising ways to make your sorry a$$ worth something weather that means casting fear into people’s life or trying to gain control. You have no love because you can't stand the unpredictable well here is a news flash from now on things are working my way which means one things I am done playing your games and you are going to start playing mine." Alice stated harshly before walking out the door leaving her father dumbfounded by all that had happened.
"Where are we going now?" Stephaine asked annoyed she didn't get to fight.
"Mathew’s house you know where it is?" Alice asked with a bit of a smile on her face.
"Yes shall we apperate?" Stephaine asked wishing to get out of there as soon as possible hating just being close to the old man.
"Yes." she replied taking Stephanie’s arm and then they turned on their heels and before they knew it were in front of Mathews house.
"If you don’t mind I think I will be leaving now no use for me to stay."
"If that is what you wish thank you for coming." Alice stated knocking on his door.

Alice hugged him as soon as he opened the door.
"Thanks." she stated when he said welcome back the atmosphere was much better over here. It wasn't so intense and when she saw him immediately her worries were washed away.
"It sure was something don't you think?" Alice asked he had listened to what she was saying he knew for the most part what had happened.
"Can I stay at your house tonight? I am not sure if I feel comfortable staying at my house today." she asked wondering if her father would over exaggerate to some of the things she said. She was also worried for Mathew if he came to his house Alice wouldn't be there to help.

"Or you could not go."Alice suddgested quietly she couldn't think how this would work out but was it better than him meeting her father?
"I mean who said that we had to go he clearly will have something planned were not going to be able to convince him once he finds out were lying who knows what will happen it just isn't worth your safety for it we might just be better off not going." she said as she sat next to him she wondered what his response would be. Would he agree disagree what would he be thinking about the whole situation.
I should have never started this. she thought biting her lip in thought.

" well if we didn't go I am certain he would know we were lying then and come looking for us and if we did go I’m sure he would figure out we were lying unless you are really good at occulamacy but even then you are far from acting cruel and to days isn't long enough for you to learn how which is what he probably was planning unless he realizes I would not want you to go in that case two days from now we have no options either way he would have something planned for us... of Corse Stephanie’s solution would be to kill him only I can't figure out for the life of me how..." Alice rambled off ideas fastly not breathing in-between the words. She ran her hand through her hair trying to figure out what to do.
"For all I know he could be playing mind games right now and not have a clue what is going on." she finished looking over at Mathew for any suddgestion.

Alice leaned back hitting her head on the back of the couch. She sighed pulling her hair back with her hand rubbing her face as she did this.
"Ugh... I hate my father!" she exclaimed trying to think through a possibilities that would work and cause the least bit of injuries as possible.
"What would your mom do?" she asked knowing Oddie would have the best idea usually she seemed to solve all the problems which they really needed to stop doing only this time she wasn't asking for her help she was just trying to figure out what she might say in this case.

"Like that hasn't been thought through the only problem with memory charms is they tend to end up badly and I don't think we want to mess with your mind." she said looking over at him she twisted her lips in thought.
"Mathew hit me." she ordered wondering if he would do it she doubted so but who knows what he could muster.
"And no buts just do it." Alice said sitting so she was facing him.

"Just do it don't worry you won’t hurt me." she said waiting it was taking too long for him to react maybe her idea wouldn't work after all she doubted it would do to the fact that Mathew could never hurt her but if it didn't hurt would it count? Alice bit her lip waiting her eyes piercing into his she was positive the stress had gotten to her but if it worked then she wouldn't have to worry about all of that and this relaxed her a bit or at least for a moment there was still too much to worry about and not enough time.

Alice was in shock he actually hit her but she was glad he finally did.
"Don't worry I am fine but how did you convince your self...or did you figure out what I was up to?" she asked looking at him with a slight smile. It was probable now maybe she could get away with it without having to have anyone dead or injured that and maybe if she played her cards Wright they would be able to get married which after all was what this whole charade was about. There was a slight glimmer of hope that shone down when this idea popped into her mind. She grabbed his hand.
"Mathew I think I know how to get this to work." she said filling through everything that she knew to be prepared to explain.

"well if you can prove him wrong the minute you walk in then he won’t attempt to sort through your mind unless he is feeling sadistic but if I am there with you then he won’t have an urge to cause you pain so the three thing he looks for." she stated biting her lip she would hope that Mathew didn't object she couldn't manage a different plan.
"He is going to look for weather or not you can cause pain to others hint the hitting if you couldn't hit me then it wouldn't work... plus if you wouldn't trust to do what I am saying then when you need to do something that you don't want to and you can't it would give it all away." Alice explained a bit more in depth she knew he wouldn't like her testing him but she had to make sure she didn't want to take chances with this for his safety.
"He will test you cause me pain you can't even flinch you have to be able to withstand others pain..." she pause not knowing how to say everything she thought through her sentences trying to figure out something to make this all sound easier then it was.

Alice smiled moving closer to him she was glad Mathew agreed but at the same time she knew how tough it was going to be for both of them and this truly was the only way to keep them living in fear.
"The last thing is he will... he will either test your mind or your strength since he would have no use for your mind I would bet on strength but you should be prepared for both." She bit her lip she didn't want him to go she didn't want him to meet her father she didn't want to risk anything she wished this could all be simple like it was on the movie boy meets girl they fall in love and get married but the truth was life is harder than that.
"Mathew you only have to act like that till the papers are sighed and then you will never be bothered by him again... once he lost I’m sure that unexpected visits from him will stop." she finished biting her lip she hated the thought of them even in the same room together was it even worth it should she put him at risk?

She smiled letting him pull her closer.
"Your still a young vampire you have more strength then we have to worry about... it's how he will test this that is the problem." Alice mumbled not looking at him he was going to question this but she didn't have an answer to give him.
"You are always good at those riddles to get into the common room." she said trying to lighten the mood it was the only thing she could think of when he started talking about Ravenclaw. She thought through everything.
"This is a bad idea there is no way we can fill all the holes in this plan in two days it's not enough time... and not enough experience." she muttered mainly to herself what if it didn't work she didn't want to lose him she felt what that was like and wasn't wanting to go through that again.

Alice bit her lip winging it never worked having a plan worked things never went according to plan but at least you had an idea in mind that way. Alice of course would never tell Mathew this she didn't want him to stress or it would show.
"Maybe your right if I just can come up with the right stuff and tell you all I know then we won’t have an issue." she stated trying to sound optimistic about all of this. She turned her head to look at him.
"Mathew do you think you can do this because I fat any time you don't feel right about this just say so and I will think of something else." she said wondering how he really felt about the whole situation.

"That usually not something someone wants to hear that you would be heartless." she stated with a slight smile she was worried still.
"Mathew I just have this feeling that no matter what we do he is going to try and kill you and I can't let that happen I can't lose you and for something so trivial... Maybe if I was smart I would have cut the deal he dealt and not have to worry about all of this... Maybe if I was smart I would have killed him when I had the chance to or not fall in love then none of this would have happened and you would be human enjoy what you still could and not be in this danger and not have to deal with all of this... Mathew I love you but I don't want to hurt you anymore I don't want you involved in things like this that could get you killed." She said having a flash back to a similar conversation. The boy just doesn't take no for an answer.

"Mathew I worry about your choices sometimes." she said with a smirk.
"But I am glad you chose my." Alice stated looking over at him.
even though it would be safer for him if he didn't. she thought knowing it would have been way better for his health if he had never met her.
I just don't know if it will fix it. she wanted to tell him but restrained herself he was right and she knew she needed to calm down and not worry as much Mathew was strong and fast and smart he could survive.
"So what do we need to do to be ready?" she asked after taking a deep breath in an attempt to relax.

"Well it's bound to work then but I think you need the accessories Mathew you wear them." she said with a smile she didn't want him to get hurt and so the enchanted jewelry must be worn by him.
"I will be fine I think you have more of a chance to be hit by some curse or jinx so it only makes sense." Alice finished kindly she hoped he understood though she knew he was equally worried for her as she was for him.

"I guess you are right." Mathew said pocketing the necklace. He quickly sorted through the other items in his hand and found a bracelet. "But you're going to wear this one. It's a shield bracelet. It's like having a shield charm up but it only activates when a spell is about to hit you. That way you don't need a wand to protect yourself." Mathew said holding the bracelet out for her. Mathew wanted Alice to have the necklace but she was right, he would most likely be the one cursed first

Alice looked at him thinking about it.
"I guess so." she said reluctantly sticking out her hand for the bracelet. she didn't want to she would rather have it so Mathew had every protection but she understood where he came from and wasn't going to fight him on the subject on safety because looking on their past there were several instances where safety had been the issue.
"So salizar slytherene made these?" she asked skeptical wasn't he suppose to be evil what if there was dark magic involved in these.
"How the heck did you inherit them?" she asked figuring there were plenty of other people who could have gotten it and yet they ended up with them.

Alice frowned.
"Um no you switch me here." she said giving the bracelet to him if there was even a little dark magic she didn't want him involved with it. She knew dark magic and had come in contact with it she knew he probably had to but she wanted him to be the most risk free. She laughed a little bit at the comment about how they came in possession of the jewelry.
"We can also place protective spells and charms and I know a few potions as well just to make sure...I don't want you to get hurt." she stated protectively she wished it was possible to teach someone occulmancy in two days but that would be impossible and if they tried it would waste time and prove to do nothing. She doubted if they had three years that she would be comfortable about it.

"Well that good I think with all the magic you should be pretty well protected." Alice said trying to pull a smile but her mind was too busy running through potions and spells and what could happen and what had happened.
Magic leaves traces I’m sure he would be able to figure out we had protections up would he find it suspicious that he had protections up after all Mathew was suppose to be this evil grandson of voldemort how were they suppose to explain that? And if he found it odd he would search Mathews mind and it would all go downhill from there it's like being trapped in a corner I can't let him go alone or without some sort of protection so what am I suppose to do? She wondered looking at the wall.
"If you don't know what it does put it down the last thing we need is a cursed ring." She said torn she wanted to find out what it did and whether it would help or hurt, she wanted him to be safe but didn't want to risk figuring out what would happen.
