Family Reunion

Alice had decided she was going to see her father on this day because it worked the best and Stephaine could come with her this day which was one of the things Mathew would not cave on was her going alone. He also refused that if something bad happened he would send help after her. Alice didn't like either of these but understood where he was coming form on them and wouldn't dare fight on the subject more. She could feel her stomach twist in knots as she stood there.
Focus Alice focus you can't let your guard up for even a Mila second she told herself putting up a defense in her mind again. Stephaine came down and stood next to Alice.
"So you are going to try and talk and reason with this man?" She asked not used to a non violent direct approach to everything.
"That's the plan." Alice said looking out into the open she wouldn't face Stephaine not now.
"And Mathew he is ok with this?" she asked clearly unable to comprehend what was going on.
"Yep." Alice replied still refusing to look at her friend because she was afraid she would find things in her that gave away something she would get distracted on and she couldn't afford to be distracted not now.
"What if I like sneeze and accidentally kill him?" Stephaine asked trying to find a way to hurt him.
"You can't kill him" Alice said softly she did not blink not even move talking about this made her frozen.
"We don't know that haven’t tried yet." Stephaine said with a smirk too big to be talking about killing someone she was starting to enjoy other people’s pain more then usual.
"We should be off soon." Alice said trying not to show any emotion through her words or actions but this was impossible.
We are going to be leaving soon Mathew are you ready for this? Alice asked Mathew through her mind wondering if he even remembered.

"Jona you have "killed" my father before you have been there for every encounter with him but this time it has nothing to do with you and you are not going to die because you want to help with our problems maybe I should have told you but hiensite this would have happened and you would have tried to help and get involved and... I can't let you do it this time Jona I mean it happened so fast I don't even know when I would tell you...Listen this isn't your place and I realize how nervous you must be now but I have to do this by myself weather my reasoning makes sense to you or not." Alice said trying to answer Jonas question but couldn't. She looked over at Mathew.
"If you want to talk about this more we will have to go somewhere else and it is going to have to be quick because we have a lot of prep work to do." Alice finished almost forgetting about Ava who looked like a lost confused child.

She looked over at Mathew who looked confused as he contemplated something.
I'm so sorry I just... I have a complicated family life... so glad this is what you’re getting
Into? she thought to him trying to explain but gave up on that then tried to make a joke
But her tone couldn't carry it so it didn't really come out as a sarcastic comment she would say.
"So please move." she stated calmer then she had said anything before hand.

"You know where we are going after all you did read are minds." Alice told Jona but figured she wouldn't like that answer.
"We are going to my father’s house." she explained but Jona would ask more questions and she didn't have time to explain everything to her.
"As far as the cloak goes if it does its job it should keep me out of his head but he will just have to use his judgment." she said glancing down at her watch.
"As much as I would love to chit chat we only have so much time and there are a lot of things to do in a day and a half so I will tell you how it goes." Alice said attempting to make an exit but she doubted Jona would let her go that easy.
Ya not exactly used to that... she knows what’s going on she just wants to hear me explain it so she can pick out every hole in it. she thought to Mathew calmly.

Alice threw her hands in the air.
"Fine let’s just throw a party." she stated to Jonas response of her coming she knew that there was no way they would be able to go if Jona didn't come along.
She's just concerned. Mathew thought to her but Alice was annoyed and if she was annoyed no matter how much reasoning he did she would remain that way. She pushed her hair behind her right ear and looked over at Mathew as he gave Ava a lollypop.
Ya well I already had to worry about keeping you safe and now I have to worry about Jona as well and if Jona gets in trouble what would happen to Ava and then what about your mom and Silvia it would just end up being a huge mess of people to worry about it in the end. she thought to him taking a deep breath.

Alice felt her heart sink into the pit of her stomach. Did she really just say that her eyes widened and her hand flew to grab Jonas wrist but she had nothing to say. her teeth where gritted and her hand was balled into a fist but she wouldn't punch Jona no she couldn't but somehow she had to get through to her say something but her mind drew a blank as she glanced back at her fiancé and then to Jona again.

"You don't mean that." she stated fumbling for the words but her anger slowly turned to sadness she fought back tears and slowly realized Jonas wrist from her grasp. Her words stung like a thousand wasps numbing her body. She found she was paralyzed starring Blankley at her sister who now so suddenly turned. She swallowed hard trying to digest the words that were thrown at her but it didn't work.

"Jona?" she whispered her voice strained to make a sound she didn't want her involved but how could she dare say he was going to die? All of her worries came to her head again as she tried to organize her thoughts the slowly started to increase the tension. Her breathing was fast and heavy as Alice tried to make sense of it all. Her fists clenched into tight balls as she so badly wished she had the strength to punch her but instead just turned around to keep from causing a scene. She grabbed Mathews hand tightly in hers pulling him along with her.

"I need to go hunting." she said her voice fell flat she needed to release stress and anger and that was the really only way to deal with it. She realized that now wasn't exactly the best time to go out into the woods but she didn't want to feel like this when they were trying to plan a visit because she knew it would turn into an attempt at assassination and as much as she wanted him dead that would be a bad idea. Alice looked over at Mathew was Jona right.
Am I risking his life for something so minor? I never should have gone in the first place now if we don't go he certainly will be dead. What would I do if he dies? What could Jona possibly know that she isn't bothering to tell me?
"Mathew you’re not meeting my father." she said quietly at first but when she repeated it she said it at a normal tone.
"I will figure something else out but you are not meeting him." she stated sternly her eyes swelling with tears as the thought attacked her.

"He would come after me if he never meets you he wouldn't have your scent he wouldn't be able to find you... I don't know he has found me all these years but if he never meets you he can't find you which means he can't hurt you." Alice said bluntly.

"Mathew what if he kills you or even just slightly hurts you I couldn't live I wouldn't be able and the fact it would be over something so minor that caused it..." she paused breathing out.

"I will figure something out but Jona was right you could get killed and I don't want to risk that." she finished looking over at him. Her stomach turned and jumped he was of course right also if they didn't go then her Father would come after them. He had them cornered and no matter what they did they were stuck that exactly what he wanted to. She bit her lip in thought trying to think of what to do. She realized Mathew’s opinion but she couldn’t stand the chance of losing him.

Alice looked at Mathew what were they going to do if they didn't go her father would find them if they did go someone would get hurt. She glanced back to see Ava and Jona talking to her father through the window. She walked over to her niece.

"Ava what are you doing sweetheart?" she asked kneeling down so she was at eye level with the small child. She picked her up and pulled her close to her.

Mathew we kind of need to get out of here like now... look over at the window guess who came to pay a visit. she thought to him but what were they going to do about Ava they couldn't bring her along with them as they ran and most likely into trouble she was five she didn't need to be involved in this.

"Ava would you mind coming with me for a little bit your mother said it would be ok." she stated but looked over at Mathew they couldn't be walking around with a kid when they are preparing for their death.

"Mathew." she stated grabbing his wrist.
"You are not meeting him without me and you are not going to now... if there is even a slight sign of deceit he will kill you... Mathew why rush into something when you have time to plan stuff out." Alice told him but she knew she was just prolonging the inevitable. She released his hand.

"Go... keep in touch." she said adjusting her grip on Ava holding her close to her chest she couldn't let Ava get in any trouble.

"Come on lets go to Mathews house." she told Ava and was ready to apperate but not until she lost sight of Mathew. She watched him carefully to make sure he didn't do anything stupid she really wished he would just agree with her and leave. This is when she realized Jona, Jona was talking to her father why would she be doing that? Alice felt her left hand start to tremble, most everyone she loved was involved in this now either directly or indirectly and she was left behind to watch everything happen from afar.

Alice’s father saw a boy coming towards him who looked a bit like he was trying too hard to look like someone who would kill someone at any moment. He assumed that somehow he was related to either Jona or his daughter in some sort of way and even though he could connect the dots wouldn't bother to. He looked at Jona and took a heavy sigh.

"We should go to my house my dear." he told her waiting for the boy to reach him so he could start this meeting for whatever reason it was happening.

Alice was suppose to go just go to his house and wait... Ya like she could manage that so instead she looked down at Ava.

"Change of plans sweetheart I am leaving you with Zane." she said took her nieces hand apperate to zanes where he looked confused but she just looked at him told him he needed to babysit Ava and then apperate back to see if anything had changed while she was gone.

Mathew walked over to Alice’s dad and he smiled wickedly. As he spoke he looked over to where Alice was.
"Oh so you are the infamous Mathew..." he looked at Jona who said he would be willing to go to his house.
"I agree we should head someplace else this discussion is not meant for the public... it sounds like we will head to my house to carry this on." he flicked his wand and Alice slid against her will into his arm. She struggled lose his grip but it was too strong.
"Father." she stated spitefully.
"Alice how lovely to see you again.” he said and she fidgested uncomfortably but didn't try to get away because it wouldn't be worth her efforts. Finally she managed to get away and she stood next to Jona holding her arm. She glanced from Mathew to her father.
"I thought you said for him to come alone why did you bring me over here then?" she asked trying to connect the dots.
"Just to see if you would follow what I said I guess you are afraid of me." he stated and Alice glared at him biting her tongue as her hand grasped around her wand.
"We won’t need any of that nonsense." he said flicking his wand and her wand flew out of her hand and down the street. Her hand clenched into a fist but she made no motion.

"Yes" he said irritated with Mathews fake attitude.
"Allison knows where to go follow her." he said looking piercingly at Alice, she nodded.
"Yes sir." she stated and he grinned at this. She hadn't said those words since she was little, young and human. Her father turned on his heels and apperate. She looked over at Mathew.
"You do realize we are in deep on this one." she told him taking his hand and then Jonas arm as she turned on her heals and apperated right in front of her father’s house. She then looked at Jona.
"What where you doing talking to him anyway?" she asked but she couldn't focus on any one thing as her mind sprung through different topics and different worries. That’s when it occurred to her that Jona was involved in this now it wasn't just her and Mathew there was a lot more stake in this meeting and a lot more riding on her. She turned away from them and looked at the painfully white door and put on a front ready to get this over with.

Alice took a deep breath and followed after Mathew into the house and sat down on the sofa that looked as if it has been the same one for all these years and hardly used.
"Hello" her father’s voiced echoed from the other room. He was probably dealing with things now that his house elf was gone but that’s when she saw it. A house elf but not the same one no a different one. But she wouldn't be able to save this one she wasn't part owner of it.

"What the bloody ell!" she yelled at him standing up and he knew exactly what she was referring to.
"Now Allison sit down this isn't your meeting." he said and she couldn't help but do as instructed due to her fear for what would happen to Mathew. She bit her tongue as he came and sat next to her on the long sofa and gestured to the other chairs for Mathew and Jona to sit. She refused to meet his eyes she wasn't going to have him break into her mind in front of them she resisted to show weakness even though she already had by giving into his will.

"tell me Mathew if you aren't in love with her like she claims and you do follow your grand fathers path then why do you care to marry her so much?" he asked and Alice bit her lip they hadn't even come up with a story more time would have done them good.

"I'm sorry dear was I talking to you?" he asked shooting her a glare that could turn anyone’s should to stone.
"Unfortunately you are right so we must be moving on then I am very strict on time." he stated looking up at the clock. At that moment Alice had no idea why she had been afraid of him he was hardly even remotely being rude.
"Allison get me and my guest some tea...now!" he commented and old habits had taken over and she got up refusing to look him in the eye it would be harder for him to get into her mind that way.
"Yes Father." she mumbled and went into the kitchen. Once she was away from sight she slapped her palm against her forehead.
what are we going to do? she asked herself biting her lip. She vaguely remembered where everything was and she did wonder why he had her get it if he had a house elf and two reasons came to mind. Number one he wanted to show off that he controlled her and number two he wanted her out of the room.
"Now Mathew if you really are the descendent of the dark lord himself when she walks back in you will have no problem using one of the unforgivable curses on her I don't care which whatever you prefer." he told Mathew and waited for his response.

Alice sighed she could hear what they were saying as if her father didn't know that. She wanted to scream like a small child yelling that they shouldn't talk about her like she isn't there. Putting everything on a tray she took a deep breath. She wanted to tell Mathew something anything but what would she be able to tell him and if she could what would she tell him. Did she want him to keep up the act or give it away and book it out of here? She couldn't decide what she wanted to do so she couldn't imagine the dilemma he was going through.

Mathew? she thought to him desperately wishing her voice could be heard but she couldn't speak. A lump formed in her throat stopping all thoughts from turning into words. After sitting there for a few doing nothing but worrying and over thinking things she decided to reenter the room. She carried the wooden tray to the glass table setting it down quietly. She stood there for a second deciding not to sit back down due to the series of events that would take place next.

"There’s tea." Alice stated softly looking around at them all. Jona seemed rather appalled her father pleased and Mathew looked the part he was suppose to weather he could keep it up was the question.

"great." her father said a half smirk appeared on his face and she reached for her wand only it wasn't there. She braced herself for whatever pain or not would come out of this.

Alice's hand trembled reaching for the tray as the command was given to her. A chill ran up her spine and her fingers grasped the handle on the tray. Pulling it swiftly from underneath the tea which crashed into the table breaking it all. She turned to Jona her muscles tight and stressed as she lifted the dark wooden tray in the air, it came crashing down on Jona. Weather it hit her or the chair it broke in half. Her hand did not release the tray as it splintered around the room hanging limply in her palm.

"Wench!" he screamed at her and even though it was not an insulting word when screamed at someone it tends to be worse. All her father needed was one piercing stare to get into her mind and with two forces fighting for control she fell to her knees teeth gritted hoping Mathew would release his hold though it was the only thing keeping her father at bay at the moment.

"Get out of my head." she growled coldly through tight teeth her eyes a violent orange glaring at him but she couldn't invade his brain but it didn't keep her from trying to implement ideas into it.

"Why Alison try not to be so plight... scream." he stated standing up then under his breath cast the cruciats curse. Alice winced but tried to restrain herself for Mathew’s sake she realized how hard it would be for him to see her in pain. He flicked his wand again a wicked grin appearing across his lips. She wailed unable to contain it her limbs twitching in odd directions unable to control her body any more. A single tear floated softly down her pale cheek, it was black due to the not water proof eyeliner. The dark tear streamed down to her neck as she gasped for help but did not ask for it.

"You had a nice little front going there almost believed you but come on it just didn't fit together." he said walking around her as she continued to squirm."Now Jona I did not bring you here to have you sit and watch but you will have to wait my darling." he told her and continued on turning to Mathew. "Let’s make a deal." he added and Alice interrupted with a scream of terror as if it would change anything. "Shut up." he said annoyed flicking her wand and a grunt escaped but she stiffened a scream. "How about we make a deal which has something in it for both of us I will let you marry her if... what do you think?" her father asked and she so wished she could tell him no tell him anything but her tongue felt like stone and her lips like butter unable to form any word that made any sense.
