Qudditch Team: Antipodean Opaleyes

Henery mumbled under his breath, pulling on his t-shirt. He was a bit nervous about today. It was his first quidditch match. Sure he had played it in school, but he was still nervous. This was more then four school houses. This was other adults, other students, other workers, families. Everything he could think of it. He sighed softly, packing a bag with his robes and his wand. He could never be to careful. He made sure he had his broom before apparating to the field he was told to be at. The air was warm, maybe a bit cool to him. Sighing, he made his way towards the locker room, going to the boys side first to get dress.

He slipped the robes on as fast as he could, wanting to just go ahead and get it over. He wanted to get back to his arm bed or back to his house. His stomach was turning over and over, making him feel just a bit sick. The fate of what happened rested in his hands. He had the hardest job ever- Seeker. If he couldn’t find the Snitch, his team would hate him. Well, maybe just Eva. This was her dream, to be in the big league. He left his duffel bag on the floor, walking over to the main part of the locker room.

The first thing he noticed was Eva’s black hair with purple streaks pulled back into a high ponytail. He loved when her hair was back because he made it easier to see her face and eyes. He sat down on a bench, holding his broom in his hands as the rest started filing in. He kept his eyes on the ground, thinking to himself about how he could get the snitch first.

Henery felt her eyes on him and glanced up as she turned. Of course. She didnt care for him in the same way he did for her. But he was just glad she was happy. As they left the locker room, he smiled, feeling warmth of the sun hit him. He squinted his eyes just a bit, knowing today was a good day for flying and quidditch. He followed behind Eva, his eyes going to the other team's seeker. A small girl was on their team and he cursed, knowing that the smaller the person the chances are they were better. He watched as the ref came onto the field. He mounted his broom, waiting for the whistle to go through the air.

He shot up into the sky, trying his best to stay in just one spot. He learned that staying in one spot while looking for the snitch made it easier to do. He watched the other team's seeker fly around slowly, her eyes searching for the snitch. He bit the inside of his cheek, his eyes catching sight of something golden like. He smiled, flying towards it. The other's teams seeker realized what happened and flew behind him, grabbing his broom tail and jerking back. Henery glared, kicking his foot out as he collided with her hand. During the little fight, he realized the snitch had left and he pulled up, glaring at her.

"I hope she breaks her broom." Henery mumbled, flying back into a spot to keep watch for the snitch once more.

Henery smiled, wanting to agree with her, but he couldnt. He was sure the other seeker would catch it before he did. They always did. He mumbled once more before finally flying slowly around the top of the stadium, watching both the seeker and for the snitch. When he saw another flash, he almost went for it until he saw it was just the light hitting something. But it didnt seem the seeker from the other team knew it.

He laughed softly, watching her fly for it. He wanted to see her fail and when she noticed it too, she flew right into the people in the front row. He laughed, catching sight of the snitch again. He flew towards it the best he could, only to catch her flying to it, clutching her arm to her chest. He growled softly, flying towards it. They were both neck to neck and he reached his arm out, but she pushed him, reaching with her good arm for it. Blood was running down her head and Henery growled softly, wishing the snitch would dive down.

His wish came true as the snitch went towards the ground. He laughed, making a sharp turn downwards to catch the snitch, only for it to once agian, change course. He followed behind it, hearing another sickening crunch. The girl had hit something else.

Eva raced down the pitch with the other two Chaser close behind. The opposing Chasers were no match for her. One came flying head on but Eva did a nose dive at the last minuet as the other Chaser flew right above her. Eva pulled up with her eye on the goal post. She thew it to the Chaser on her right giving her the signal. The other Chaser nodded as Eva raced towards the goal post. All eyes were on her as they thought she would be making the shot. Eva held out her hand like she was going to catch the Quaffle only for the thrid Chaser to appear out of no where and catch the Quaffle. Making a loop de loop the third Chaser threw the Quaffle right through the left goal. Cheers filled the stadium as Eva turned around and threw her fist into the air.

Just before the Quaffle was thrown in Eva looked up only to see Henery and the other Seeker chasing after what she assumed was the Snitch. Looking closer Eva could see there was blood on the girl's head. She was hoping Henery didn't hit her or anything. If he did Eva was certain they would recieve a foul for it and since they didn't Eva was confident to say that the girl pulled off a stupid stunt and paid for it. She grinned watching as the girl fell to the ground. Eva flinched at the thought of falling from that high. Eva knew however that if the girl was injured the game would be paused until she was taken care of. Luckily for her the girl got to her feet and onto her broom. She was eiether being stupid or wasn't about to back down.

"See Henery I told you she was no match for you. Look at her, she can barely stay on her broom" Eva shouted up to Henery. As she turned around to see a Bludger coming her way. Eva tried to move out of the way but took the Bludger to her right shoulder. She cried out in pain as she felt the bone break. Looking up she saw the other team's Beater grinning at what he had just done. It wasn't a foul since the Quaffle was in play. Eva cursed at her stupidity as she turned her broom around heading after the red ball. She could keep playing even with a broken bone.

Henery was determine to catch the snitch. No matter how early in the game it was. His fingers were grazing it and he tried to go up some but knew if it he did, his broom would tip over. He didnt care. He leaned up and felt the snitch go in his hand as he fell off his broom, landing on the ground a good six feet from the air. He landed with a grunt, glaring at girl who apperently looked sick at the fact that Henery caught it before her. She had tears in her eyes and Henery felt sorry for her as she looked back at the captain. Henery knew that even if he wanted to give it too her, he couldnt. Eva was counting on him. He smiled, trying to get her attention.

"EVA I GOT THE SNITCH!" He shouted towards her, hearing the crowd cheer a bit. He felt others from his team fly around him, smiling that he had caught it. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, knowing that Eva would be proud that he caught it. This was her chance to be on a big team. After this, he would go back into training for a teaching job at Hogwarts. Right now though, it was the last thing from his mind.

Henery felt the blood rush to his head and he could hear his heart pounding in his ears. Eva was hugging him...actually touching him. He swallowed back the lump in his throat and wrapped his arms around her, smiling from ear to ear. "Your dream is coming true...you get to play quidditch whenever you want." he said, pulling back from her. He handed her the snitch, trying to back away from the crowd. He hated being around a lot of people and the fact that everyone from their team had surrounded them had made him feel dizzy.

He made his way back to the locker room, thinking about Eva again. She had hugged him and he was silly in not hugging her back in the same manner. He had been shocked when he hugged her back and mumbled under her breath, walking into his side of the locker room. He decided to get a quick shower and get dressed back into his regular clothes before celebrating with the others.

Someone from the team told her that they were going to the Three Broomsticks to celebrate him catching the snitch and Eva finally getting her dream. All he done was nod, debating if he wanted to go. He knew Eva would have guys around her and he wasnt sure if he would be able to get over seeing it all. With a finally sigh, he disapparated to the Hogsmeade, making his way to the small pub.

He could hear everyone cheering a mile down the street and smiled, walking faster. He was ready to see Eva, not caring that others would be seeking her attention. He pushed opened the door, nodding when someone said good job on catching the snitch. He smiled for a few seconds before making his way towards his group, sitting down beside another female chase on the team.

Henery glanced up at Eva as man after man offered her drinks. He turned back to Eliza, listening to her talk about her daughter. That was why she tried to make the team and wanted to be big, to help with her daughter who was turning three soon. Henery smiled, looking at the picture. "She looks just like you, Liz." he said, setting the picture back down. He glanced up at Eva once more, seeing another guy try to give her a drink.

Eliza smiled at him, putting the picture back into her purse and taking a sip of her drink. Henery was about to accuse himself when he heard Eva shout to the last man. Something in Henery snapped and he stood up, making his way towards the man and Eva.

"I think Eva said let her go..." Henery said softly, in a deadly tone. The man glanced at him but said nothing to him. Henery's hand grabbed Eva's, trying to pull her away from the man.

Henery raised his eyebrows. "Do you really want to do that?" he asked him, pulling Eva behind him. "Because I can assure you that my father, who happens to be in the hightest ranks in the Ministry, would love to have a go at the person who does something to his son." he said, glaring at the man. Henery's parents had always favored him more, even more then Jarred. Henery's birth had been a miracle considering how old his parents had been.

"Go mess with someone else..." Henery told him, pulling his own wand out. "I was sent to Azkaban for murder once, I know I can do it again." he told him, shuddering from the thought of being in there. Of course, it hadnt been his fault. Jarred was a death eater, trying to kill a muggle girl. In the process of saving the girl, he had accidently killed her. He pushed Eva back some, moving away from the man.

"Just leave Eva alone and there will be no problems." He hissed, turning around to face Eva. "Move." he whispered to his, pushing her back some more.

Henery just nodded, sitting down in the other chair. When he felt her kiss his cheek, he tried his best not to smile or blush. He knew the heat went to his cheeks though so he stared at something else so he wouldnt have to look at her and want to kiss her himself. "What did he want anyone?" Henery asked after a few seconds, sipping the butterbear he had ordered a while ago.

He finally risked it, looking at Eva again. Her hair was still pulled from her face and he could see her eyes. He wanted to sit as close as he could to her, but he didnt want to seem clingly or desperate. "And how much have you drank so far?" he asked her, eyeing the many glasses on the table that she had been sitting at.

"Good thing you didnt drink what he had in that drink them. Could have been something muggle like." He mumbled, standing up. "I think I need to get home. I dont think you are in any state to get yourself home so if you would just stand up, I can apparate you home. Besides, if I leave he may try to come back." He told her, grabbing his duffelbag he had brought with him. He told Eliza bye before glancing back at Eva. "Or Eliza could take you home if you want to stay." he told her, shrugging a bit.

He walked out of the pub, waiting for a few minutes incase she stumbled out or anything. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to concentrate. He wasnt sure what he wanted to do now that he had helped Eva. Maybe he could just help out at the Ministry instead of doing quidditch. He shook his head, not wanting to think about it.

Henery raised his eyebrows at her as she stumbled out of the pub. Yeah, he could tell she was passed drunk. He shook his head, walking over to her. "Yeah...sleeping it off may be good. Now could you tell me where you live?" He asked her, picking her up so she didnt have to walk and fall over more. "Better yet, just let me apparate home and drop my bag off, then you can tell me." he told her, concentrating on his home.

He landed a few seconds later at his house, Eva still in his arms. "Here, just wait here and try to make sure you get your address right." He said, setting her down so he could put his bag in his room and not have to carry it around with him.

Henery walked back into his living room, mumbling about stupid owls when he came back and saw she was sitting in a chair, almost asleep. "Eva...Evaaaaaaaaaa...get up. Cant sleep at my house. No ma'am you cant." He said, shaking her softly. "EVA WAKE UP!" He shouted when she didnt move. He sat there watching her, mumbling once more about drinking. This was the reason he didnt like to drink. It caused you to pass out.

A small house elf walked into his living room, holding a cup of tea in one hand and some cake in another hand. "Poppy thought Master would want this when master got home." Poppy said, setting the plate and cup down. Henery just nodded, waiting for Eva to look at him.

Eva's eyes closed as sleep tried to overcome her but she needed to get home. She would have to wait until Henery took her home before she could let her body rest. But finally the alcohol set in and she drift off to sleep. However, in her opinion, the sleep didn't seem to last long. The next thing she knew it she was being shaken. Eva forced her eyes open and looked up at a burly Henery standing right before her.

''Orry" she mumbled as she slowly got to her feet. The room started to spin and eva held out her arms to steady herself. "Imma wake. Imma wake." she muttered as the room slowly ceased to spin.

Jarred sighed, shaking his head. "Eva...come on...tell me where you live at." he said softly, trying not to be to loud. He had picked her up again. He wasnt sure if he wanted to leave her alone but he didnt want to seem like he was stalking her or something. "Eva...you really drank a lot huh?" He said softly, not really talking to her.

He stood there, not sure of what to do. He was hoping she wasnt going to fall asleep on him again. "You had way to much fun. Way too much." He mumbled, sleep suddenly coming over him. He didnt realize how much of today's game had gotten to him until now and he sat down Eva back down on the floor, trying to keep her standing up.

"No no, we arent home yet." He said, not catching onto what he said. "Come on." he said, rubbing his eyes before picking her back up. He concetrated on the Leaky Cauldron and disapparted once more. When he got to the bar, he walked up to Tom, glancing down at Eva. "Do you have an extra key for Eva's room?" he asked kindly. Tom handed him another key and Henery walked up the stairs to Eva's room.

"Here we go.." he mumbled, seeing the room number that was on the key he was giving. He sat her back down, holding her against him so she didnt fall and opened the door. "Let's walk.." he said, not wanting to pick her back up incase it made her sick.

Henery heard the sound of gagging and then smelled the after effects of what the gagging resulted in. He shook his head, taking Eva by the arm. "Come on." he mumbled, pulling her into the room. He pulled his wand out and pointed at the vomit, making it disappear. "Let's lay you down..." He said, walking her towards her bed. He pulled the covers back and turned back to her. "You can't sleep in your robes." he mumbled, walking to her trunk.

He pulled out a t-shirt and some shorts, walking back to her bed. "Umm...are you in any position to dress yourself?" He asked, going red as he said it. Henery glanced around her room for a few seconds, before glancing back at her. "I can find a witch maid here to help you if you need it." he told her, letting her sit down on the bed so he could take her shoes and socks off her.

Henery slapped a hand to his eyes as she started undressing, his face going even redder. He hoped she wouldnt remember doing this in the morning and waited until he heard her talk again before doing anything. "I...I cant stay on the team." he said when she finally laid down. "I'm gonna stay any hour or so to much sure you are ok." He said to her, walking over to a chair. He sat down, kicking his legs up on her trunk, grabbing the newspaper on a table.

He started flipping throught it, not realizing his eyes were closing with every second. The chair he was sitting in had become very comfortable, considering it was nothing but wood. Within a few minutes, he had finally fell asleep, the newspaper still in his hand.

Henery was dreaming about teaching, something he had liked for a while. He wanted to teach potions or flying lessons, but his dreams kept going back and forth. When he kicked up from the ground, his foot, in reality, hit the ground and woke him up. "Wha--?" he asked before realizing it was morning. He squinted, taking in the morning light. He realized he had slept at Eva's room and looked around. He saw she was awake and he sat up, clearing his throat.

"Um..I'm sorry. I meant to leave but I sorta...fell asleep." He mumbled, standing up. He stretched, all his joints just stiff. "Never sleep in a chair though." he told her, not sure of what to do anymore

"You got drunk..." Henery said, watching her. He looked at the table by him and noticed a teapot. He figured it was filled with coffee and he walked over to Eva, carrying the cup of coffee for her. "Here." he mumbled, sitting on the edge of her bed. He handed her the cup, yawning a bit. "Again, that chair is horrible." He mumbled, laying at the foot of her bed.

"Now...this is great." He said, closing his eyes. He laid there for a few minutes before looking at Eva. "I'm not staying on the team. I think I want to teach at Hogwarts." he told her, resting his hand on her leg. "Sorry..I just...I dont like crowds and all." He mumbled, gazing at the ceiling.

Henery just nodded, turning to lay on his side and propping his head on his arm. "Dont be mad about it...I just dont like crowds." he said to her, laying his hand on her leg. "And if it helps, last night you didnt do anythign stupid. Just fell asleep in my chair." He told her, yawning again. "You know, I want to do something. You want to go out and have some kind of fun to celebrate...no drinking this time though." he said to her, sitting up and yawning. "I do need to go and get ready if you arent coming anyways." he told her, wincing from the pain from sleeping in that chair.
