The Wiggenweld Potion

Part I: The Basics
For this section, simply respond to the questions below. Some questions require only one or two word answers, and others are more in depth or may ask for your own opinion. Use your discretion as to how much effort you put into each question, but remember, the more detail you use, the more points you're likely to get, so do your research well! 1. What potion is the Wiggenweld Potion an antidote to?

2. Name the two effects Wiggenweld Potions can have.

3. What is the name of the hag who used the Draught of Living death on a princess?

4. Write a brief summary of the events that took place between the Hag, the princess and the prince.

5. What Muggle myth is most likely based off of the events with the hag?

6. Research the etymology of the Wiggenweld potion. Give at least one explanation of where the potion got it's name from and describe your feelings on how accurate the name is in light of these meanings.

7. What is Golpalott's Third Law?

8. Explain Golpalott's Third Law as best as you can in your own words. (I understand this is difficult but read the law carefully and it will make sense! Unclear or copied responses will not give you the full 50 points for this section!)

9. Based on this law, do the ingredients in the Wiggenweld potion seem to be an accurate portrayal of how Golpalott's Third Law works? Explain.

Part II: Ingredients
Name all eighteen ingredients of the Wiggenweld potion and how much of each are needed when possible. Next look into at least four of the ingredients giving information on what they are, what effects they have and why you think they're important in the potion. Wiggenweld bark and asphodel are required; you may choose what you wish for the last two.

Part III: The Hag and the Princess
Now it's time to get creative! You previously gave a brief summary of the legend surrounding the Draught of Living Death and the Wiggenweld Potion, but now it's your turn to tell it. In no less than 400 words write a short story in third person about the events that took place. Come up with names for the characters (except for the Hag, of course), the back story of the Hag, why she's jealous of the princess, how she tricked the princess, how the Prince knew she had really only been dosed with the Draught of Living Death. You may also consider discussing whether the Prince made it himself, or had help from other? Be as creative as possible, and feel free to take liberties as so little is known about the story. Any stories shorter than 400 words will lose points!
