Round One - MarieC vs WaterLily

:Marie ran into the room, tripping over her robes and getting back on her feet while putting order in her clothing and hair. She looked around to see if WaterLily was there yet. She didn't seem to be but she knew you could never trust appearance... especially not with one of the former duelling finalists of the year before. Muttering against whoever had decided to make her duel against WL while she was rather bad at duelling, she started walking around the room to check if there was any sign of the Gryffindor girl in the room, jumping at every little noise which she made herself without noticing it.

Finally, when she was done checking, she turned to the door and frowned. She was not going to wait there, standing in the middle of nowhere without even one little protection spell to hide herself from view. Frowning, she looked around and saw a closet door. Slowly, she went to it and opened the door to see a couple of piece of furniture hidden in it.

"Oh so that's where they put the furniture while we're duelling! Interesting," she said to herself.

She grabbed her wand and went back to the middle of the room.

"Accio couch!" she said, smiling when the couch came floating toward her, though the smile faded from her face when it landed on her left foot. "Owww!!!" she cried, taking her foot away from under the couch and hopping in circle for about one minute while holding her foot.

Then, mumbling under her breath, she glared at the couch before redoing the same spell on a table and a chair.

As she was looking around, feeling there was something missing, she grinned and went to the door, opening it slightly.

Then, she conjured a large bucket and smiled wickedly, kneeling down beside it.

"Aguamenti," she whispered, putting the tip of her wand in the bucket and filling it with water.

When the bucket was filled, she got back on her feet and grabbed the bucket to evaluate its weight. Then, nodding approvingly, she put it back on the ground and cleared her throat.

"Wingardium Leviosa," she said, smiling and giving the right movement of the wrist.

The bucket floated in the air until it was on the top of the door. Marie gave a little evil laugh as she went back to the middle of the room, knowing that when WL would enter the room, the bucket of water would fall on her head. It wasn't exactly magic, but it was allowed and it would definitely be funny. Sighing, she sat down behind the couch, hiding herself from view, and conjured a pack of cards, playing a patience game on the floor while waiting for her opponent to arrive.

::WL slipped into the room under her invisibility cloak just behind Marie, grinning at Marie’s slight jumpiness and curiosity. WL peeked over Marie’s shoulder to see the closet with the furniture and realised the importance of using her surroundings to her advantage.::

“Evanesco et Glamorum” she cast non-verbally, vanishing the bucket and it’s contents, but leaving a glamour of it to convince Marie that it was still there and waiting for her.

::Throwing aside the cloak in one fluid motion, WL crept up to Marie with a non-verbally-cast-Wingardium-Leviosa-ed pile of furniture floating around next to her...

“BOO!”

“AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!” screeched Marie, jumping around and holding her wand at the ready.

::WL ducked quickly and released the spell for the furniture to fall, making a cocoon around Marie. Before she could get out, WL cast a quick Permanent-Sticking Charm on the furniture and the floor to delay Marie’s recovery and set about casting her protection charms: the average invisibility, ability to levitate at will and nutrition charms required for the duel and the conjuration of the amulets she normally wore as protection against every-day hexes, jinxes and nasty spells...::

Marie rolled her eyes and sighed, muttering a spell which freed her from the things that were surrounding her. She knew that WL would have taken advantage of her momentary little trap to get ready but she wasn't really worried about it anyway.

Grabbing her wand, she pointed it at WL.

"Numerus turbatio," (total confusion) she said before her opponent could react or move.

She smiled as WL suddenly dropped her wand and looked around her, probably wondering where she was.

"jelly finxi!" (jelly fingers) she then said, making WL's fingers go like jelly. She knew the spell would not last long and she did not wanted it to anyway, she only wanted to make sure she would not be able to grab her wand properly for another minute or so.

She flicked her wand and the furniture around the room went floating in the air once again and placed themselves in front of her, not trapping her, merely creating a protection wall between her and WL.

"Ebullio tutela," (Bubble protection) she then muttered under her breath, too low for anybody to hear it.

At once a thick and solid, but invisible, bubble appeared around her, protecting her from spells and charms, though it did not keep her from sending any.
