Albus Dumbledore

This is probably going to sound a bit weird...but I'm not Dumbledore's biggest fan.

A lot of people say that they cried in book six when he died...I didn't, in fact, I didn't mind that he died at all. My only "no!" moment was realising that Dumbledore had left Harry with what seems the impossible task of finding the Horcruxes.

I'm not sure why I don't really like ol' Albus, I think it's a mixture of reasons. Perhaps because he kept too much information from Harry, information that could potentially have saved Sirius (whose death I *didn't* like!), coupled with the fact that he made the decision to leave Harry with the Dursley's, who were mentally if not entirely physically abusive towards their nephew.

I don't mind DD, but as I said...not his biggest fan.

Actually I do see your point though. It annoyed me the way dumbledore was with Harry in OotP and if it wasnt for him Sirius may still have been alive, though he did try to make up for his mistakes in HBP

A lot of people think that Dumbledore has all the answers but he is just human and makes mistakes. I wonder, though, whether Dumbledore would have used Harry slightly for the benifit of the order.

I did cry though when he died, how could you not?? lol

I cried when he dies.. but not as much as I did with Sirius becasue Sirius was more close to Harry and loved him uncondittionally z(though I'm sure Dumbledore did too) He is very smart though and useful so I think that his portrait might come into play.

I think you are right about his portrait - I am sure that it will come into play in helping Harry with his search. That is one of the reasons I think that Harry has to return to Hogwarts - I cant see him taking the portrait along for the ride lol

no, i think it wil stay lol it will give hima reason to go back to Hogwarts. Maybe it will tell him how to work the pensieve

no.. because if he did he would be able to get out on his own..

that had ever been Headmaster in Hogwarts! He is soo nice to Harry and

Dumbledore was a very good person i am so sad that Albus Dumbledore has died and Harry won't have anyone to talk freely with now

I cried more for Dumbledore than I did sirius but yet I really hated him in ootp. The way he was with Harry was just not nice lol! I don't think the books will be the same without Dumbledore and I think it will make it all seem a lot darker becuase throughout the other books especially in ootp when Dumbledore arrived I don't know if anyone else felt it but I got this great sense of comfort that he was there and I knew Harry was going to be okay. That won't happen in the next book.

I was totally surprized learning about Dumbledore's past. I did sort of hero-worship Dumbledore so I didn't like to hear all these negative things about him.

I also hero-worshipped Dumbledore and I hate re-reading about his past when I re-read the Deathly Hallows. At least he finally got some sense knocked into him because he at least tried not to rise to any real power so he wouldn't hurt anyone else even though, if I were Dumbledore, I never would have been able to raise someone (like Harry) knowing that he was going to have to die or think he was going to die before coming back. That would just be a horrible thought to me.

Some of you might be angry that Dumbledore kept information from Harry ,but I can kinda see why he did it now that the final book is out. I have to agree with you all that Dumbledore may have caused Sirius's death ,but I still agree that Harry didn't need to know everything about that door and the prophecy inside at that present time. I feel that Dumbledore simply needed to tell him enough information to keep him from trusting everyone of his dreams that he had. If I where in Harry's shoes with the little information he was given and saw Sirius being torchered of course I would run to save him. Harry trusts Dumbledore and I feel that if Dumbledore would have just told just enough that perhaps the HPOP would have had a whole different ending.

I have a bit of a question.

Did anyone in the world see Dumbledore as being gay until after JK Rowling annouced it?

Well, there had to be a reason behind his personality and flamboyant dress wear.

I just thought he was a little ermm... different.
I see no reason why he couldn't be gay. But i think it was just a spin off to sell more books, But i can see the attraction.
