omg!! I couldnt believe it when Dumbledore died OMG!!

how can the books be the same now Dumbledore is dead - arggghhh snape and draco - bad bad people! I cant understand why some people think snape is good **cough**my sister**cough**

How can he be good if HE KILLED DUMBLEDORE!!

It really made me sob when he died - how did ou feel when he died?

I was really sad when he died! I cried! Spoiled my book too. And as much as i hate to believe it i tink snape is good cuz i tink he told Dumbledore about d unforgiveable curse and Dumbledore in return told him to kill him so that he (snape) wouldn't have to die. But Snape still needs to go! He doesn't have to live! He gots to go.

Sure. Ok you remember when Snap and Narcissa made the Unbreakable vow? Right according to Ron or somebody, can't member exactly who said it but yeah, if Snape didn't go through with it he would have died. So i think Snape told Dumbledore( otherwise how wud he have known Malfoy was gonna try to kill him) an I think Dumbledore told Snape that if it ever came to it, Snape would have to kill him. So i think DUmbledore wasn't begging Snape Not to kill him but to kill him. Hope that explains my theory. I tink Dumbledore sacrificed himself to save malfoy and Snape. But if i am right Harry isn't gonna think that, he's gonna kill him first chance he gets. (i hope) :lol:

i have a mixed mind with all of that with snape and dumbledore. I mean he killed dumbledore, but did he do it because he is evil? i really dont know what to think

I have cometo the conclusion that i don't really want Snape to die in Book 7 and even though i LOVE Harry it would be better if he died. I now fully blame him and Dumbledore for Sirius' death and since he's already dead all that's left is Harry. But i was still sad bout Dumbledore though!

I quite like Snape, but I think he will definitely die in the 7th book, that's for sure. Because... he betrayed or Voldemort, or Dumbledore, and either betrayed side will want to kill him, so...

I think that Snape killed Dumbledore because he made the Vow, but he also wanted to.

I mean, you have to mean to kill someone, y'know?

He had to die in order to protect Draco and Snape. A lot of people hate Snape but he is the key in getting enough information on Voldemort to help Harry defeat him.

Dumbledore dying at the hands of Snape is going to make Snape a Hero in Voldemort's eyes. Voldemort, I believe will trust Snape completely now and will tell Snape the info that will unknowingly bring him down.

I was really really sad when dumbledore dies. I do hate snapea nd dont trust him but I think he will redeem himself by sacrficing himself in the FInal Battle but he will deserve it so i probably won't cry if that does happen, but either way Snape must DIE!!

I knew that Dumbledore was going to die when I was in the middle of the book (some of my silly friends had told me!!arg!!)So I wasn`t really surprised about it.

When I came to that part of the book, I was very nervous/angry and I was almost going to rip the book!! I coudn`t believe that Dumbledore had trusted Snape that much! And of course he knew that Harry`s and Snape`s realtions were not good(that they hated each other)..So he didn`t listen to Harry!!!

ARGGG!!!! I`m so angry about it! Now it will so much different without him :`(

to our amazament Dumbledore did die. I was sobbing, I think I had
a mental break down at the minute. I couldn't even finish the chapter.
Now when I go back to it I feel goofy. THe ending was so painful to
read, I can't wait to see the way they act it out in the 6th movie. Its
just so sad the best wizard ever died beacsue an aemteur hit him.

yes indeed, it very hard to believe, the man we loved, the man who took harry by the hand has died. scary. what will happen in the next book. lots to think about.But like it wa said snape did make the unbreakable vow but as well notice how dumbledore was saying "severus, please" what was he really saying. I dont believe that dumbledore was begging for his life at all, rather was asking to be killed and in that sense allowing voldemort to come out to the open so that harry can fight him.

i think snape had to kill him. if he didnt both snape and draco would be killed and dumbledor wouldnt want that. dumbledor must have know it was coming becaus ehe did after all tell harry to put the cloak on

While I was taken aback, I was neither sad nor angry with Dumbledore's death.

I think that his death proves one of the main points of the HP series, that there are worse things than death and that fear of death leads an individual to do horrible things. At the time, Dumbledore's death is the outcome that will result in the least amount of suffering. It is the "right" thing to do, allowing himself to be killed, and I am glad that we get to see Dumbledore face death in way that is in glaring opposition to Voldemort.

Sure his death stirs up a bunch of emotions in each character, and his fall is hard to take, but is his life worth Draco's innocence? If Dumbledore lives, will the purpose of the war shift from defeating Voldemort to avenging the attempt on Dumbledore's life?

Of course, the 7th book presents a bunch of other reasons why Dumbledore has to die and do so at the hands of Snape, but I won't go into that here. My point for this thread is that if we accept Dumbledore's philosophy for five books that there are worse things than death, his death should not leave us feeling angry or sad, but hopeful and proud of him.

lol you do have an excellent point but I was still saddened to see him go. I wanted Dumbledore to be there from the start of the series and to the end.. Well he kind of was but still. I didn't want him to die XD

Mm I was more shocked than anything. Didn't know where to turn in Deathly Hallows... but at the same time, Dumbledore was very much present even if he wasn't physically there.
