A Look at Death Eater: Fenrir Greyback

A vicious weapon that Voldemort uses to persuade and threaten wizards to join his side is the infamous werewolf, Fenrir Greyback. Of all the wizards that have been infected by lycanthropy, Fenrir Greyback is the only wizard that not only enjoys being a werewolf but welcomes the attacks he gets as a werewolf. His appearance is of a big and hairy man with gray hair and whiskers. His Death Eaters robes are usually described as being very tight and tattered.

His exact age and parentage is unknown of. Yet it is known that he has been terrorizing wizards since the 1970s. His specialty, however, is to kidnap young children at their tender age and infect them early. Then he would teach them to hate wizards early so his dream of infecting enough people to with lycanthropy would be achieved. Voldemort uses the threat of sending Fenrir Greyback after their young children to persuade their parents into bending to his wishes.

It was this exact situation that caused Remus Lupin to his downfall. Remus Lupin’s father refused to give into Voldemort’s orders. Therefore Fenrir Greyback was sent to the Lupin household. There he infected Remus Lupin with his lycanthropy. Other victims that were transformed by Fenrir Greyback is a yong boy by the name of Montgomery. Unfortunately Fenrir became too involved with the torturing and killed the young boy as many werewolf victims tend.

Fenrir Greyback appeared again in Harry’s sixth year at the fight at Hogwarts. There he fought with the Order of Phoenix members and seriously injured Bill Weasley. Fortunately Bill escaped the werewolf curse as Fenrir Greyback wasn’t in his true werewolf form when he attacked Bill. Yet the werewolf scars can never be healed and some of Fenrir Greyback’s wolfish qualities would be transferred to Bill Weasley.
