SEMI FINALS: Match One

Amy flew into the duelling area, silently apologising to the organisers for being so late. She hoped that this last ditch effort would be enough to get her through the round.

She glanced around her, and felt a prickling on her spine when she saw no one else around. She knew that there were only three others in this duel, but seeing no one was quite spooky. She quickly disillusioned herself, shivering as she felt the creeping sensation down her spine.

She then flew around, feeling the cool night air blow through her hair, quite confident in the fact that she was disillusioned. From somewhere in the distance an owl hooted, and she revelled in the feeling of being free to fly under the moon and the stars, just like the owl.

She watched the owl's progress across the night sky, it's massive wingspan almost blotting out the bright of the moon. But then, something odd happened. The owl flew past a bank of cloud, and Amy caught a glance of something sparking inside them. She flew a little closer, hovering nearby, and peered inside the cloud to see a mini storm commencing.

The owl flew off, and soon became a dark spot on the horizon, and Amy watched it until she saw some more sparks in another cloud. There had to be someone creating the mini storms! Pulling her wand out and aiming it in the general direction of where the spells appeared to be coming from, she whispered "palla di fuoco" (fireball), and several balls of fire shot from her wand in several directions, covering the area from which she had seen the storm spells originate.

Amy cursed under her breath as the dueller - Lily she could see it was - deflected the fireballs and sent them back towards her with large gusts of wind.

Quickly casting a shield charm around herself and her broom, she got it up just in time as the first of the fireballs began to hit. She was buffeted around in the air a little, but luckily the charm was strong enough to hold up against the attack.

"Aguamenti", she said, aiming her wand at the fireballs. They dissipated, leaving her view clear. Lily seemd to have disappeared. "Darn," she said out loud, and edged closer to a bank of large, grey clouds which could be used as cover. On the other side of these, she grinned as she saw Lily peering around herself, and so she lifted her wand to take aim.

"Avis maxima!" She called, and a torrent of birds with sharp beaks and teeth shot forth from her wand in Lily's direction.

::Elly zoomed into the duel. She was really late. She looked around, nothign to be seen but then something happened.

Fireballs shot out of no where and then they were reflected off something...but there was nothing there...Elly thought, raised her wand and muttered, "Indiquez," (reveal) three people came into view. Amy, Elana and Lily. Before they could see her elly shot behind a cloud.

"Geheimnisse decken auf," (secrets reveal) Ellys eyes felt funny. She rubbed them then looked up around the sky. She saw all the defences set up, the clouds ministorms, the birds. All the protective spells on people. She could weave her way around those attempts.

Through a thinner part of the cloud Elly saw birds shooting towards lily. Elly decided to fiddle with tehm a bit.

"Διπλή διάσπαση," (triple split) Another swarm of birds appeared then another, before the birds attacked elly pointed her wand to herself and muttered "Животное Управление," (animal Control)she had control over the birds and any other animal in the sky.

Elly used the spell to form a squawk in her throat which she let out. The birds stopped and each swarm turned to attack each of the duelers. Elly squawked again to urge them on. Her new found squawk scaredher a little but to her it sounded as if she was talking. Sought of like a parcelmouth but with birds::

Amy saw another dueller fly into the arena - Elly - and then felt a strange sensation as her disillusionment charm dissolved.

Growling in frustration, she reapplied it, and darted into the clouds again to recoup. Suddenly, some of the birds she had sent at lily turned around and headed back in her direction.

She rolled over on her broom, so that she was hanging upside down and the birds zoomed past her head and slammed into a tree beaks-first.

Now to get revenge on Elly...

She flew to the other side of the tree and looked around for her fellow duellers. The other birds still had to be contended with, but elly didn't seem to be doing anything at that particular moment.

Thinking quickly, she raised her wand and muttered a quick spell, "Orage Grande!" (big storm), and a storm of thunder, lightning and torrential rain appeared over Elly's head.

::Elly saw a storm growing towards here.

"Protector Del Paraguas," (Umbrella shield) A light shone above elly, it pointed towards the sky then spread out from the middle. It spread in a bid circle around her tehn the light from the middle melted away and onlty the rim of an umbrella shape was lit up in the darkening sky. No amount of rain otr lightning could break this thing and it would cover her wherever she went.

Before she had time to relax Elly heard "Sorry turle," then saw a bludger headed towards her. She thought about dodging itor blowing it up but then she decided to have a little fun,

"Blocco," (Bat) A bat appeared and Elly grabbed it, readying herself. The bludger was sent from elana, a fellow quidditch teammate, and worse a beater so this was going to be a hard shot. Elly positioned herself and sent the bludger flying up into the sky out of sight. It plummited back down with such force so that when Elly hit it towards Elana, "Sorry Llama" she muttered. The bludger was hit at such speed that it parted the rain for a moment and left a tunnel, elly smiled at the sight and went to deal with lily.

~now it's my turn to have fun~

"Bomba Di Quaffle," (Qualffle bomb), a bright red football sized quaffle came into ellys ready hands. Elly lifted it to her ear and listened for that sound so small, just to make sure. The rain pelting down didn't help but there it was, that small ticking Elly wanted.

Elly flew through the rain but was completely dry thanks to her umbrella spell. She came within range of lily. Elly would throw the quaffle, lily would catch it and as she catches it it will form a mini explosion, no bigger then a wizard craker but enough to temorarily blind or deafen and shock, then the net would wrap itself around lily. It was a great spell and elly knew it would work. Lilys chaser reflexes wouldn't fail.

Elly threw the red ball and saw it gently loop in the sky and settle in Lilys hands. Elly heard a satisfying bang and smiled::

"Take That!"

Amy saw Lily conjure a beaters bat and send a bludger towards her, however thanks to her experience as a beater in the first term of HE, she knew how to avoid rogue bludgers. She rolled out of the way and the bludger shot past her.

Then, she heard Elana's voice muttering a spell, and the cloud she was hovering by began to grow in size and enveloped her. It felt as though the air around her was thick and as though she was flying through treacle. She finally managed to fly out of the cloud, only to find she was then enveloped by a sphere-bubble. She tried to fly past it, but it felt as though an invisible force-field had been put up against her.

She ran her hands over the smooth inside of the bubble, and wondered how she could break it. An idea coming to her, she whispered "Glacé!", which turned the bubble to ice. She then conjured a beater's bat and swung it at the ice bubble, and it shattered into a thousand pieces, freeing her.

Flying out of the treacle-like cloud, she looked around to see where the other duellers were. Elly was dealing with Lily, so Amy looked towards Elana.

Wondering what she could do to attack Elana, she was hit by a sudden flash of inspiration. She sent a gust of wind hurtling towards the Ravenclaw, which buffetted her a bit, providing a distraction. She then made a spinning motion with her wand, which would have the effect of spinning Elana around and around in circles.

Finally, she conjured a bag of little balls covered in sharp spikes and a leather glove. She put the glove on, and began to take the spikey balls from the bag, pelting them at Elana.

::The net exploded from the quaffle, it engulfged lily and made her loose control of her broom. She fell off and plummited to the ground like a dead bird.

Elly the concentrated on amy. She was always being called duck so elly decided to have a little fun with transfiguration. Elly waved her wand and yelled "утка!"(duck) The gryffindors red and black robes spouted yellow feathers, her arms grew long and wing shaped. Her feet turned webbed and her broom and wand fell to the ground. Elly laughed at the new amy, "an improvment I must say," she said::

Amy felt her shape shifting, and her broom and wand falling from beneath her. Quickly, she grappled with her new...wing and managed to catch the broom and wand before they could fall to the ground.

She held the wand in her mouth..beak...and performed a non-verbal finite incantatem, turning back to normal. She then turned on elly, and muttered a scalping spell. Her hair (which she coiffed oh-so-diligently) was ripped from her head, leaving a raw, bald scalp in its wake.

::elly screasmed as her hair was ripped off her head, she caught it quicklyand performed a quick spell to reattach it.

"OI! That wasn't nice!" Elly then thought up another shapeshifting spell,

"cambiamento del sesso!" (sex chnage) Amy froze then screamed a low pitched scream. Elly burst into laught at amy...as a boy! but the best thing was, she wouldn't change back till this duel was over:

Amy cursed as she felt elly performing a gender changing spell on her. One that was irreversable until the end of the match. Oh well, it wasn't too bad. And now she had some extra upper body strength, which she intended to put to good use.

She flew straight as an arrow towards Elly, casting a spell along the way. "Piel comme diamant," she said, which made her skin as hard as a diamond. She then battered into Elly, sending the other dueller falling from her broom towards the ground.

::Elly had her share of falls inquidditch, so she juist grabbed onto her broom and swung back up.

She was bruised fropm the amy but elly yelled "pezzo" (shatter) and amys diamond hard skin shattered into millions of shards of diamonds leaving a rather pink amy. Elly shuddered at the sight and flew off awy from amy and hid behind a large, black, vthreatening cloud::

Amy felt her diamond hard skin shatter, and with it the gender change spell seemed to break. Thank goodness she was back in her own skin! Amy saw elly fly behind a big black cloud, and so amy cast a spell on the cloud.

"Chat grand!" She said, and the black cloud transformed itself into a big, black cat that was able to walk in the air, being made from cloud substance as it was.

The cat then turned and pounced on elly, smothering her with it's thick cloudy body.

::Elly used the same spel she used in a previous round to conjure a sword, it appeared in her hand and she thrust it into the cats chest. It exploded into thousands and thousands of spiders which she ordered to attck amy. The swarm skuttled over tol her and crawled all over her. Amy screamed an ear poiecring scream. She hated spiders with a passion::

Amy screamed as she saw the spiders crawling all over her, but then she thought of a way to counter the spell elly had performed.

"Bon Bons!" She called, and the spiders turned into jelly spiders. Plucking one out of the air before it fell away, she popped it into her mouth and ate it before turning her attention back to elly. What could she do now?

She had a thought, and called "Arreste momentum!" and the jelly spiders stopped falling. She then made them fly back through the air and into elly's mouth, forcing elly to eat them. She then performed an engorgement charm on the spiders and elly began to expand with the weight of them in her belly. She expanded so much it looked like she would explode!
