Valentine's Dance

"I'm a Pureblood, 100% Potter," ::she joked and pointed at her tangled hair:: "It's the Potter curse...can I ask you something?" ::Jade asked and looked a bit embarrassed.:: "Well... what does the relephone do?"

Cassidy smiled. "I see.. the Potter curse..." She mustered Jade's hair, smiled and continued. "Well, it must be pretty cool to come from a house where both your parents think magic is a safe thing." She laughed a bit and anwered Jade's question.
"Ok.. the relephone... or, as muggles rather call it, the telephone" - she giggled- "it's quite simple once you understand that they have no such means of quick communicating as we do - like floo powder or such. It's just a device with which two people can talk even if they are very far away. Just just dial a number of the person you want to call and hey presto - you two can talk!"

::Jade tilted her head to the side, letting a few strands of her blonde hair fall down in front of her eyes.::

"But... but how can you remember the number? I really don't get it how Muggles can live without magic! I sure couldn't! With my memory, I couldn't even remember my own number, yet alone someone else's..." ::she muttered, looking more and more confused.::

"Anyway, my parents never thought magic was a safe thing. In fact, they thought about not getting me a wand since I was so clumsy" ::Jade said, and smiled at the memory.:: "How did your father react when he found out about your mother being a witch?"

"You get used to remembering at least some numers, if you dial them more often. And you can always write them down, right?" Cassidy said and smiled.

Then she sighed, thinking about how her father had never gotten used to the fact that she could take care of herself, even though she had been bitten by a werewolf when she was only 3 years old. She shook her head. "Well, at least your father didn't delay your going to school by one year.. mine did. And I would probably still be at home now, hadn't it been for my mother's pleas." Her voice had gotten almost unperceptable. "He doesn't think I can handle it..."

Then she got slightly more cheerful and tried to smile - after all, she was at a party and wasn't going to turn this into a crying session. "And about my father finding out that my mom's a witch - well, that happend quite late - I was actually already 3 years old when he did - it was well, the circumstances..." She rubbed her cheek and looked to the ceiling. She coulnd't understand it herself how her mother chose to wait unti the last moment. "How strange," she thought, "hadn't I been bitten, he probably wouldn't know it even today.."

Jade eyed the girl with her emerald green eyes and smiled gently. She placed a friendly hand on Cassidy's shoulder.

"My father was a bit overprotective, too" she said smiling. "I don't think any girl had it easy with their parents!" Jade joked and decided to change the subject. Talking about families usually got people down...

"Hmm, are there any interesting people here tonight?" Jade asked and eyed the couples dancing around. "Any drama or something like that?"

Cassidy was innerly thankful for Jade changing the subject. She smiled "Yeah, girls don't have an easy life."

Then she went on, "Well, I don't see any drama right now - possibly because I don't know the people..." She began slowly balancing her weight from one foot to the other, waiting for inspiration to hit her. "We could... dress up! As ghosts or houseelves or such and play tricks on people!" She grinned, than had another idea. "Or we could polyjuice ourselves into somebody's parter and replace him or her!" She laughed at the thought - this was probably one of the best ways to get to know people. "Well-" she thought, "it is kinda mean... but it's only a joke, right?"

"But that's illegal, right?" Jade said slowly. "It does sound cool and all, but with all the professors around, I'm not so sure... I mean, they could think that we're Death Eaters, or something..."

"Well", Casssidy whispered, "we'll be careful and they won't catch us!" Cassidy looked around carefully. "I think it qualifies as breaking school rules - but not as being a deatheater..." Just as she said that, Cassidy remembered she probably shouldn't break any school rules on her first day at Hogwarts. But then again - they weren't going to get caught!
"We have to get some polyjuice potion first..." Cassidy thought for a moment, then she had the answer: "The Room of Requirement! Of course!" She smiled and asked Jade "What do you say about it?"

'Oo. This should be fun..' Zexion thought to himself sarcastically as he entered the dance.'Why I show up to these things..I'm dumbfounded myself..Perhaps it's to ruin the spirit..I guess it /could/ always improve my chances with Dani..Vale's been in the hospital a /long/ time..' he snickered. He did sort of feel bad for Vale..but he'd rather him stay in the hospital while he tries to get Dani to like him..His wear wasn't very formal, just a plain tux and a white shirt behind it.

'I wonder if she's even here..' he shrugged, glancing around the room for someone he knew, He saw Traci, Sky, Fated, Ebony-he snickered when his gaze fell apon her, 'The new deatheater..interesting..I would've thought she'd be smarter..No matter, I still have to pretend.'-He then saw, in the rest of Ebony's group, Lily and Dani.

He walked over to them and waved.

"Hello girls."

Ebony looked to Zexion.

"Hello Zexion," she spoke with an emotionless face.

"Hey Zexy," Dani said looking him over, "a bit over dress arn't you". She said looking him over, he was compared to her jeans and tank top.

He gave a nod to Ebony, somewhat cold,

"Hello, Ebony. How're you this evening?"He smiled politely and added with the slightest bit of sarcasm,"Enjoying the dance?"

He turned to Dani and sighed. "I guess I am. Ah well, You're suppose to dress up for these things aren't you?"He questioned, frowning looking down at this clothing

"Not much, don't reall care for these social events," She answers, "What about you?"

"Heheh, that's two then."
He paused for a moment, glancing around them, he spotted Vale.
"I'm alright, I suppose. I'll be right back though."He nodded, pointing over at Vale. He walked over to him and tried to force a smile."So..you're back, huh?"

The red-head puts on a fake pout. "You sound so disappointed to see me back! Whatever have I done to deserve such hatred from little Zexi?"

He turned to the side, crossing his arms."Want me to start from the beginning?"

He turned back to face him,"Did the hospital have to force you out or did you leave on your own will?"

He snorts, a look of sheer disgust crossing his face. "Force me out? Heck no! They couldn't have gotten me to stay a minute longer if they tried. So, what've I missed?"

"Alot..I joined the DA and.." He leans in very close to whisper something, "Am now a sort of Deatheater..I'm on the DA's side though." He pulls out and nods. "Keep that a secret would you? Dani's dad isn't actually dead but..There's to much to explain..You can ask Dani, she likes talking more anyways."

He puts a hand on his hip. "I take it that hospital was pretty miserable? How're you feeling anyways?"

Lily finally looked up at zexion and that guy what was his name again... she nodded her head at the newcomers and took a swig of her drink.

Ebony took another swig of her drink, "I hate Valentine's day its a horrible holiday."

He gasps, "You're a -" He brings a hand to cover his mouth quickly to avoid shouting the word in such a populated area. He clears his throat and tries to casually change the conversation.

"Yep... Pretty bad. Doctors, needles, weird smells, and sick people all over the place."

He glared at him."Don't-tell-anyone. Besides, I'm not /really/ just you know..Enough to get information."He coughs, and continues the new conversation of his hospital time.

"Aww, poor Vale,"He grins, speaking with the slightest bit of enjoyment. "You're scared of needles?"

Ebony looked to Rose, "Hello, I'm Ebony."

She heard Rose mention also being a transfer from Beauxbatons, "I also am a transfer from there. Though I dont think we ever got the chance to meet."

'Oh god please say this isnt one of the goody,goody primpy preps from there. I hate them.'

He turned slowly towards her. 'Eh..another preppy girl..They all seem so fake in my opinion.' he frowned at her, focusing his black eyes on her. Studying every little bit of her he could.

"I despise these things, and yourself? I believe I've seen you around a few times as well. Dances and big school events. Zexion."

Lily realized that one other girl. "Oh hey, I'm lily, you probably already caught my name...." she said to rose as she took another drink of her firewhiskey

Ebony spoke," So Rose how do you like this school so far?"

Ebony nodded her head, "Yes it is a change from Beaxubatons. There are a better group of people here. There not all super preppy, prim, and proper."

"So what house are you in?" she asked.

(I'm sure, from your previous posts I realized she's just putting on this act. But, my character has no information of that and the way she's acting now is what is influencing his opinions. )

"Likewise,"he replied, keeping his voice even and nearly emotionless. "You're coming from Beauxbaton's eh? I've already received my fair share of what it's like there from Ebony."
He sighed, crossing his arms. 'I can't believe I told Vale..he's going to blab it I know it and before long my identity is completely messed up.' he scowled to himself and added mentally 'None the less..Go with it, go with it.'

Lily became bored with the presence of the people and took another drink

Ebony sighed and took a swig of her drink.

"Why do people celebrate this holiday?" she asked annoyed with the holiday.

"I really don't know, Ebony." Lily said bored.

'Such, a pathetic holiday, to remind me of how uncared about I am." Ebony sighed

"Stupid Valentine's Day, "She mumbled.

"Worst holiday ever" Lily said playing with her drink

Ebony took a swig of her drink and they muttered, "Yeah.."

He glanced over at the girls.

"Agree with you there. To defend it though, there are many many people who /have/ people who care about them and enjoy this holiday."

He shrugged."Load of [censored] in my opinion."

Dani rolled her eyes her head in her hand as she watched the people around her

"Yup another excuse to have a fun day..."

"Theres a holiday for everything now, even grandparents," Ebony sighed.

He grins at Elana. "Usually makes a school day have less work I suppose."

He glances over at Lily and Ebony. "Did Dani just go to the bathroom or something? I swear she was here minutes ago.."He scans around the room and strides over once spotting her.

"Vale's back."

"Probley, wasn't really paying attention, " Ebony shrugged

Dani looked up hope in her eyes, "Where?" she didn't want to sound to eager, but she had been missing him latly.

Vale decides that he'd been quiet long enough, so he walks up to the crowd of students, ever so slightly suprized to see a lot of faces he didn't know.

"Dunno if you heard, my name's Vale. Nice to meet ya', ladies." He says in greetings with a suave grin.

He smirked, deciding to play with her.

"I don't know, what would I get from telling you?" He grinned, standing up on his toes just enough to block her vision.

Ebony looked to Vale, "Hello I'm Ebony. I just transferred here."
