Valentine's Dance

Dani tried to look around him, "Ah come on Zexi move, I haven't seen him in ages," she pleaded a hint of a joking maner on her tone

"Hogwarts doens't take long to get used to, don't worry. So, which house?"

"Alright. Fine."

His mood seemed to drop immediately as he pointed over to where Vale was. He slumped himself over a bit and strode over to the main group.

Dani smiled and ran over to Vale, pulling him into a hug that quickly changed to a kiss.

"I missed you," she said

Ebony smiled, "It put me in Slytherin. The same house my father was once in."

His expression quickly changed from grumpy to jealously. 'I honestly don't know what she sees in him..' he sighed to himself, 'I should be nice..Poor guy just got out of the hospital.'

"You don't know what I've had to put up with, Vale, Dani had been really depressed about you since you were gone."

Vale jumped ever so slightly as Dani tackled-hugged him, but it didn't take long for him to return her signs of affection. He hugged her close, the warmth of her being that close instantly making him feeling even better.

"Hey girlie, sorry I didn't talk to you sooner. I missed you too. Not sure if you heard, but I hit my head kind of bad."

"Oh yeah, Zexi told me, I forgot...are you feeling better?" Dani said huggin him close

"Right as rain," he says, nearly ever-present grin still evident, "All I have to tell are boring hospital happenings, so let's hear what's happened here."

Dani looked after Zexion, "Same old same old....We should go with him," she said. "I mean he did help me alot while you were gone." She said to Vale, being of course a girl not knowing how that might affect him

Being as dense as he is, Vale doesn't notice the possibilities of her comment.

"You're right. He can't very well be all dark and gloomy by himself all the time. You two are welcome to come with us." he says, directing the last part of his comment at Ebony and Claire.

The slytherin teen takes Dani's hand in his own, and leads her over to Zexi's table.

Dani sat down across from Zexi, "You don't have to be by yourself you know," she pointed out

"Oh but I'm much more comfortable alone." He retorted, coming back to his normal self now that someone else was here for Dani. "You two go have fun and dance."

Dani appeared hurt, "Um..okay," she was hurt but got up with Vale and pulled him to the dance floor.

"See, that'd work, but we're your friends, so now we have to say "Oh come on Zexi, it'll be so much more fun if you're there!" or something like that." Vale says. If it were him, he would never be able to stand living so introvertedly, so it was worth a shot.

"But if you're sure..." he adds quickly before getting pulled off to dance.

He nodded, a smile not even forming on his lips after what Vale said, him finding it somewhat amusing."I'm sure, enjoy yourselves."'Am I really though?' he wondered to himself.

Ebony walked over to the table Zexion was at.

"Hey, " she spoke kind of quietly, "You all right?"


Ebony wasn't real sure what to say. She of course being new had no idea about the background of these people. She in a way felt out of the loop, but still she did wanted to help.

Dani was sort of silent as she pulled Vale close and began to slow dance, it was weird being with him again after such a long time.

"So how are you?" she asked

"I don't wanna leave the party, Cassidy..." Jade said and looked around in the beautiful Great Hall. "Do you really wanna do this? I mean, I'm still not that convinced!"

Cassidy wasn't really sure about her crazy plan either - she was torn between being a good girl who stays on the safe side and having a little adrenalin-kick. She weighed the arguments - who said they even were going to find polyjuice potion in the Room of requirement and anyway, how were they going to replace those dancing people? Suddenly, the mere argument of fun didn't weigh so much anymore... She thought for another moment, then said:

"You know what, Jade? We might err.. leave this crazy idea - I'm kinda undecided myself - but then again," she said grinning, "I still wouln't like this party to end without another funny event."

"We could always figure out something else, though" Jade said, and looked around again. "Maybe poke people?"

(LMAO!!!! I can only see us two running around, poking possibly DE's..)

Cassidy laughed. This idea was so crazy, yet lovable! And it was completely, harmless, too! She grinned and said, "This could work - let's make it a competition, in order to be even more fun!" She giggled then added "Do you think you can poke people without them noticing who it was? Who gets the most secretly poked people at the end of the party wins... we'll see what she wins..." She grinned. "Ok?"

"Okay!" Jade said and put her drink down. "Get ready to lose, my friend!" she said and ran off laughing.

She saw a cute couple dancing together - Sky and Fated. With a smirk on her face, she grabbed some random guy nearby and dragged him on the dancefloor, elbowing her way through the crowd of dancing couples towards Sky and Fated. Jade smiled to the guy and noticed that she was right behind Fated now. With a silent giggle, she quickly poked him in the ribs - and quickly turned back to the guy she danced with and kissed him forcefully - this way, she would look more innocent.

Cassidy was looking at Jade and grinned at how well she had succeded her task. "Brilliant, Jade!" she thought, "but wait till you see this!"

She made her way through the crowd towards the food corner. She took her wand out - she would need it - and hid it in her right hand, slightly up her sleeve. Then she grabbed as much as she could carry in both her hands - chips, Bertie Bott's Beans, Pumpkin Pie - everything. On her way back, she did a Leviosa charm on the bowls she was carrying in her left hand, and used the now free hand to poke one of the two girls she had met earlier in the back - she thought her name was Lily. She quickly retracted her hand and went on, as if nothng had ever happened.

Jade watched Cassidy's part in the poking contest and narrowed her eyes.

"Hey, where are you going?" the guy asked when she made a gesture to leave the dancefloor. Jade gave him a confused look.

"Eh?" Jade said. "OH!!!!" she said as the realization hit her. "Um, I need a drink!" she told him politely and dashed off.

"Creepy guy," she whispered to Cassidy as she passed her towards the food corner.

She eyed the room and notice Claire sitting nearby. With a smooth movement, she had her wand in her slender hand. She walked slowly to her, holding her wand ready.

"Rictusempra!" Jade whispered as she poked Claire softly with her wand.

With that, she rushed into the crowd again...

Cassidy laughed heartily. "Nice one, Jade!" She stuffed a pumpkin pie into her mouth and left, clutching her wand.
She pretended to look for somebody in order to mingle with the crowd, then she released golden non-breaking soap bubbles from the tip of her wand, but not upwards - that would have been too obvious. She released them downwards, so nobody could tell where they came from, because they were staying so close, they couldn't even look down. Her wonderful bubbles began to rise constantly, soon reaching shoulder level. Cassidy was lucky to be so good in non-verbal spells, otherwise she couldn't have done it. Some people found the bubbles highly amusing, others were starting to panic already - now was the moment - she approached the closest person - Ebony, if she remembered right - and poked her. Then she quickly left towards Jade. "Well" she thought, "this wasn't too bad.. and the bubbles will rise to the ceiling in five minutes or so.. no harm done - point won."

She grinned as she got to Jade. "Liked it?"

Ebony was waiting for Zexion to answer when she felt someone poke her. And she saw someone walking quickly away.

"Did you just poke me?" Ebony asked in an irritaded voice towards Cassidy.

Jade pouted for a second and clutched her wand harder.

"Nice one, Cassie!" she said grinning. "Watch this..." she whispered and with a quick flick of her wand, the bubbles were transformed into..........

..........fluffy hearts that were squealing!?

Jade's eyes went wide with horror. She had never been good at non-verbal spells, and now she had the room filled with a flock of squealing heart that were fluffier than pink rabbits!!!!

"Ooopsiie..." she muttered, but recovered from her shock quickly. She gave Cassidy a charming smile and threw her blonde hair over her shoulder, as if she used to be surrounded by squealing hearts everyday. "That was meant to happen!" Jade said casually and strode off to Dani. She gave her a hard poke in the back, while everyone watched at the squealing hearts flying up towards the ceiling.

Cassidy heard Ebony call her and bit her fingers. "How on earth did she ever see that? It was crowded, there were golden bubbles everywhere - what kind of eyes does this girl have?" She decided to pretend nothing had happened - maybe she would give in and say she just imagined it, because it would be a shame to lose such an ingenious point, so she turned towards Ebony:

"Huh - you're calling me?" She put up her most incredulous face and continued on the same irritated tone Ebony had used, "I think you just poked yourself or something like that - cause I have better things to do than poking you!"

She reached Jade and whispered "Good job!", before setting off again. The competition was getting more and more interesting! She picked up one of the squealing hearts and it gave her an idea. She smirked and flicked her wand. All of a sudden, everybody, including herself was wearing a pink fluffy bunny outfit. She used this opportunity to poke the nearest person, then she casually went back towards a fluffy bunny that was rolling on the floor, laughing.. yeah, that was probably Jade... she smiled, flicked her wand again, then the charm went off and everybody looked their own self again - although they were all wondering what in the world had happened and were checking to see if they still have pink ears.

"Of course I didn't poke myself." Ebony responded.

Ebony got changed into a pink bunny outfit all of a sudden, then got changed back to normal.

'What the bloody hell was that?'

Ebony looked back to Cassidy and went to reach for her wand, but decided it wan't a good idea with a bunch of teachers around.

Ebony glared at Cassidy, "Better watch out, Sunrise."

Ebony then went back to table she was at before she was poked.

Jade touched her head and grinned as she felt the bunny ears still there... oh well, they looked good with her dress.

"I'll keep these, by the way!" Jade said laughing and pointed at the bunny ears. "Okay, let's see...hmm..."

Jade was out of ideas! She couldn't really top that, so she decided to do it very simple.

She walked straight to Sky and Fated again, grinning innocently as she reached them.

"Hello!" she said to Sky and fixed her bunny ears casually. "Here's a Valentine's poke for yoooou!" Jade said and poked her. "Enjoy!" and with that, Jade ran back to Cassidy.

"You can poke one more and then we'll quit, because I have a feeling they will all attack us and... poke us to death!" she said giggling. "Let's say we both won after your last poke, okay?"

Zexion glanced at her, and had a very bored expression on his face. He gave her a vague shrug and his voice turned cold."What's it to you, newbie."'Why must everyone get involved in each others problems at this school!' he scowled, that thought echoing in his head. He glared at the wall, or maybe it was the sight of Vale and Dani dancing. 'Dammit Vale always ruins everything.'

"Whatever," Ebony spoke knowing she wasn't going to get an answer.

She pulled up a chair and sat at the chair and took a swig of her drink.

'I could always try and read his mind to figure it out...no I shouldn't thats rude. Or possibly look into his past to see the history behind him and Vale. No I can't. I shouldn't ruin his trust. Obviously he doesn't want me to know.'

Ebony sighed she wanted to be helpfull but obviously her help wasn't wanted.

He quirked an eyebrow at her. He hated it when people went off into their thoughts like that.

"No really, Why do you want to know?"

'Might as well be nice..'

Ebony shrugged, " I don't know really. Just wondering what exactly went on back there with you and that Vale guy. You just seem kinda ticked off."

Ebony hated seeing people ticked off, unless of course she didn't like them. But Zexion seemed like an ok person.

' I need to stop being so sympathetic, what kind of deatheater am i.'

"Eh..Long story. If you're wondering, me and him are..kinda..I guess you /could/ say.."He pauses to make a dramatic choking, cough sound, "Friends. Just have a few social problems."

'Why the hell am I telling her this?'

"But..anyways, have you made any friends yet?"

"Friends? Can't really say I have," Ebony spoke, "More like a few acquaintances."

Ebony never really had friends, she had always been an outsider. The only really social connection of any sort with anyone was when Igor, introduced her to the deatheaters.

"Haven't had friends for the longest time," she sighed.

"How morbid."

He sighed, knowing he had been just the way she was.

"Sometimes being friendless is better though."

"Sometimes..."

Ebony took a sip of her drink.

"But not always. Some days it gets lonely not having anyone to talk too."

"I guess so, depends on your personality. I like to be alone most of the time anyways."

He twirls a quill in his hands. 'Expect when it comes to Dancing.' his brain echoed to him.

"I am alone most of the time also." Ebony sighed. "Thats what I get for not being a preppy goody-good, not that I'd ever want to be one. There pethetic."

Ebony rested her elbow on the table.


"But anyways, it would be nice to at least have one friend during this lifetime."

"Try harder to make one?"

He points over to Dani.

"She's a good friend to have."

'Careful, or she'll steal your heart away.' he added mentally.

Ebony nodded looking to Dani, "Yeah she seems like a good person."

Dani seemed like a good person to befriend. So far they had gotten along.

'Why did I come to this party? I have no friends and I haven't even done one of the most important things to do at a dance, which is dance. I am so bloody pathetic.'

He gave her a dark smile.

"So why'd you show up to the dance?"

"I have no idea," she answered, "I guess I was bored. Why'd you come to the dance?"
