Firebolt vs. Nimbus

Ever since the firebolt was first released people considered it to be the best broom around. The Nimbus, however, is also known to be a great broom. What do you think? Which broom do you prefer?

For this class you will need to write a essay of 400-700 words. Your essay should be well structured with an introduction and conclusion. It should also include the advantages and disadvantages of this broom, and what your personal preference is.

Maximum Points of 45 per essay but i will add an addition 5 points for the best essay.

Firebolt vs. Nimbus
There are many reasons why the Firebolt is better then the Nimbus. For one reason is that the speed it can get at a short period of time. This helps the broom to be better at qudditch then the Nimbus. It is also better at turning which gives you better control of the broom. Even thought the Nimbus is good in the game of qudditch it is not however good when it comes to flying to other places because of the speed that it gains so quickly.

The Firebolt is a better broom to use in qudditch. It has greater speed then the Nimbus. Some might disagree with me on this subject but can a Nimbus go from 0 to 150 mph in ten seconds. No, it can only reach speeds up to 100 mph. If you had the Firebolt you would have an advantage in qudditch because of this. Not only is it fast but it is also great at turning. When you turn on a Firebolt it is as if you are turning because your mind told it to, not your hands. The same can not be said about the Nimbus. Sure it’s good at turning up its just not as good as the Firebolt.

Not only is it good in the game of qudditch but it also has the unbreakable Breaking Charm. This means that you can’t break it too easily. If it gets blown away you would know for sure that it will be returned to you in one piece. Also this charm can not be removed which makes it even better. The Nimbus does not have this charm. If it was to blow away, you might not get it in one piece because if it hits something hard enough it just might snap.

There are however disadvantages to this broom. It is not good for flying for long distances. You might fly too fast without realizing it and lose all of your stuff because of this. With the Nimbus it does not go that fast so you can be sure that your items stay. You might also fly into a muggles made plane in the fog because you were going to fast and didn’t see it.

The Firebolt is an excellent broom for the most part but the Nimbus does have its advantages too. Both brooms were made for the game of qudditch and they both do an excellent job at it too. The Firebolt does have the advantage of speed and turning unlike the Nimbus. Hopefully you will chose the broom that is to your liking and also use the information that you have just read to help you decided on the best broom for you.
