Quidditch Pitch

Oddie walked out into the stands carrying her broom along with a crate witht he four balls in it. Oddie decided to wait to see if there would be anyone else joining before she satrted partice, so she went over and ssat in the stands carning her neck trying to see if there was anyone else whom might be coiming to pratice too.

Chris walked into the quiditch feild. He had never played the sport but loved to see the game in play. Chris sat down in a seat and looked at the feild with no one on it.

After waiting for waht seemed like hours, Oddie saw Chris enter. Oddie walked over to Chris and said "Hey, whats up? Planing on playing quddith?"

"No, I don't want to play, I just like to watch. It's very interesting. So are you going to play?" Chris asked.

"I was thinking about shooting a few hoops" Oddie said. "Are you sure you dont want to, its a lot of fun" she asked him

"I have never been able to fly well, I prefer to stay on the ground." Chris said.

"Surely you would like to give it a try. It's not that hard. I'll let you try on my broom. It's more reliable then the schools" Oddie said holding out her broom. "I could give ya a lesson. If you feel uncomfortable then we can call off the lesson" Oddie added

"I guess I could try. There's a first for everything." Chris said.

"Well, thats good to hear that youll give it a try." Oddie said handing him the broom. "Now the first thing you want to do is swing your leg over the broom and ill correct your hand positions"

Chris grabbed the broom and swung his leg over, and waited to be instructed on other things.

After correcting his grip, Oddie stood in front of him and said "Now, when you feel comfortable just lighly kick off the ground. Try not to panick or you might fly up too high. A gentle push off the ground should be good enough" Oddie said as she took a few steps back to give Chris some move to take off.

Chris kicked the ground lightly and he flew up a few inches. "I'm flying, oh how cool." Chris said.

After seeing that Chris was able to control the broom Oddie decided to teach him how to move around. "hey Chris, Im going to get a broom and then Ill give you some pointers on flying." Holding up her wand she said "Accio school's brooms" and waited till one was right beside her hovering a few feet off the ground. Grabbing it, Oddie threw her leg over it and kicked hard off the ground. "Ok Chris, now what you want to do is lean forward to move stright ahead, but dont lean forwards too far or you might be moving a little too fast. Dont worry, Ill caught you if you fall" Oddie added as she got behind him. "Now to stop just try to lean back or just sit up slowly" Oddie added.

Chris tried what Oddie said and he moved up a little and stopped. "This is so cool." Chris said.

"Now to turn" Oddie said once Chris had mastered moiving forward. "To turn just use your hands and try to direct the broom in the direction you wan it to go, while you are leaning forward" she added

Chris leaned forward while moving to the right, "Ok, this is good." Chris said.

"Good job" Oddie said as she clapped. "Now to up and down. All you got to do is point your broom up or down." Oddie said as if she was explaing that 2 +2=4.

Chris pointed his broom down and was going down fast.

"Pull up or youll crsh" Oddie shouted pointing her broom down and following him incase he did pull up quick enough.... the only thing was Chris was on a fster broom and she was afraid that the school'd broom would not caught up to him

Chris pulled up just inches from the ground. "Woh, ok." Chris said.

Flying towards him Oddie said "Now that you got the feeling for the broom how about we play some qudditch. Of course its going to be a bit hard with only two players but we could just pick postions and play those. So what postion would you like to try out" Oddie asked flying down towards the crate to get out the nessacry balls

"I reallt don't know, I guess beater." Chris said.

"Ok" Oddie said taking out two clubs. "I dont play Beater but I guess I could give it a try. Now take this" Oddie said thrusting the club into Chirs's hands and then she turned back to the crate. "Now Im going to let them loose so you must get ready to hit the Bludger if it comes towards you. Since were the only two here its going to attack either me or youso get ready for it" and sfter Oddie had finished saying this she set the Bludgers loose.

The bludger came flying towards Chris so he threw out his hand and the club hit the bludger and it went flying off.

"Good job" Oddie exclaimed hitting th Bldger as it came towards her. "Now lets get on our brooms and hit them from there" Oddie said grabbing her broom and swinging her leg over it kicking off the ground.

Chris grabbed the broom and flew up into the air. "Ok, I'm ready." Chris said.

"Ok... here comes one now" Oddie said as it flew towards her. She did the Sloth Grip move and wathced as it flew towards Chirs. "Hit it" she yelled incase he wasnt ready

Chris threw out his arm again, but this time the bat flew out of his hand and hit the bludger. Chris grabbed his wand out of his cloak and shouted. "Accio Bat." and the bat flew back into his hands.

"Good job" Oddie sai seeing him just narrowly missed being hit by the Blugder just give it some more time. Ill keep dodging them to give you some more practice and if you get bored well which postions"

"OK." Chris said will hitting bludgers.

Oddie flew around the pitch watching from afar that Chris's progress. After he had hit what seamed like a dozen Bludgers Oddie apporuched him and said "How about we pratice another postion"

"Ok, what position?" Chris asked.

"Well theres the Keeper, the Seeker and the chaser" Oddie said and she dodged another Bludgers. "But before we start another postion we need to capture these Bludgers."

"Just use your wand, Accio Bludger." And the ball flew towards him and he cought it.

"That will work" Oddie said copying him. Once the Bludgers were in the crate Oddie poited at the other two balls. "Do you want to use the quaffle or the snitch" she asked him

"The quaffle."

"Ok. So were going to be playing Chaser. Thats the postion i like the best." Oddie said. "Do you know what your suppose to do" Oddie asked him as she reached for the ball.

"Not really." Chris said.

"Well its not that hard" Oddie said as she pulled the quaffle out of the case. "First thing first. We need to mount our brooms" Oddie said as she swung her leg over her broom and kicked off the ground soaring twenty feet intot the air. "Now you see the three hoops at each end of the pitch."

"Yes." Chris said.

"Well all you got to do with the quaffle is that you go to throw it through the hoops on the other side of the pitch. Its not as easy as itys sound because there is uaslly the Keeper you got to get through. If you make a goal it is worth 10 points for your team." Oddie said. "Now im going to let you throw a few through the goals justy to warm up. Then once you think you got the hang of it im going to be the Keeper and try to block the hoops so that you cant make a goal."

Chris flew up towards the hoops and threw the ball into the hoops for a few minutes. "OK." Chris said.

"You ready now. Ok,well just let me get into postions." Oddie said as she flew towards the middle of the hoops but on her way there she garbed the quaffle. Throwing the ball at Chirs Oddie said "Ok, now try to make a goal" and then Oddie prepared herself for Chris to try to make a goal.

Chris flew up and threw the ball at the hoops.

Oddie quickly flew towards the ball and grabbed the quaffle just before it was about to go through the hoop. "Nice one" Oddie called out to him as she threw the quaffle back at him. "Try it again" Oddie called out and then we can which. Youll be the Keeper and Ill be the Chaser"

Chris flew up to the hoops this time faster, and he threw the ball in.

Oddie flew after the ball but she missed the ball by a few inches and watched it as it flew into the goal post. "Good job" Oddie said flying towards Chris. "Now lets se how good of a kepper you are"

"Ok." Chris flew up to the hoops

Oddie flew down towards the ground and caught the quaffle before it had landed there. Pulling up she faced the hoops where Chris was at and flatened herself on her broom. She quickly gain speed till she was a few feet away form him and that was when she sat up on her broom and threw the quaffle as hard as she could into the laft goal posta dn turned up to avoid hitting Chris
