(2) Most of the time I live in moutains or hidden deep in the woods. Anywere that i can find to hide from the muggles and the wizards 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2) I wish I could intermigle with the muggles without them acting crazy and trying to kill me. 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2) I like to eat just about anything that moves. I had eaten sheep, pigs ro any other creature that you could think of. Part TwoDescribe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500. When we dragons are younger we all have to go through that stage where we have to learn how to fly. When I had reached that age my mother had tried so many times to teach me how to fly but no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t do it. My mother was extremely mad at me for not being able to fly as easily as the other dragons and would hate to be seen around me. After a few months had gone by mother was about to give up so after everyone went to bed every night I would sneak out of our cave and practice flying on my own. Every night I tried for hours on end returning many hours later back to the cave so that no one would notice my absents but no matter how long I would practice it had seemed as if I wasn’t making any progress. One morning my mother came up to me and told me that if I did not learn by the end of the month that she would throw me out of the cave. Getting desperate I went to father and told him my troubles. He told me not to freight and that he would soon figure out what was wrong. After taking one look at me he saw that my left wing was dislocated and he immediately popped it back into place. The next morning I went to my mother and told her that if she gave me another try that I would be able to fly this time. Mother was not convinced and just wanted to shoo me off but father made her give me a second chance. After flapping my wings for what felt like forever I finally left the ground and did a few laps around the cave breathing out fire as I went. Once I had landed back onto the ground mother had embraced me and told me that she was so proud that I had finally learned how to fly. Later that night I had thanked my dad for all of the help that I had given me and he, being modest, said it was nothing. I was very proud of myself that day and I was also very proud if my father and respected him even more for it. Sources http://www.draconian.com/whatis/

| Part One -I chose the Hippogriff 1. What do you look like?Well I'm really tall, and big, really strong. My fur has a grayish-whitish color. I have, strong feather. My big brown eyes show emotion. I have two huge wings which big enough for me to fly real fast. My beak is hard and big so I can bite anything. 2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? My Strengths are that I'm a strong creature so it's not easy for me to be defeated by other creatures. I'm a loyal creature to my owner, and I protect my owner from anything. My Weaknesses are that I'm very sensitive and get very easily offended. And I don't have a good temper, I get mad easily too. And I'm also not very friendly, I tend to choose who my friends are. 3. What is your natural habitat?Well if I have no owner I usually wander around. But I love the forest and landscape. I can't be in a cage or inside all the time, it's just not me. I need big places where there is plenty of outdoors so I can run and fly and be myself. 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? I wish I could Apparate and Dissaparate. Sure I've got flying but I'd get to places even faster if I could do those stuff. And I would like to have the power to be invisible so I could catch food easier haha so my preys won't see me. 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder?Oooh Yumm! Well I like to eat small animals. Like animals I can take in one of two bites. Maybe rats, squirrels, some birds. It's pretty satisfying, but I could also eat big animals only it would take longer haha. Part TwoWell I grew up with my family. My father. mother and siblings. And we were owned by a family named The Strongholds. Out of them I liked hanging out with their daughter Lila. One day Lila wanted to go to the forest so bad, but it was getting kinda late. Her parents knew I would protect her so they let her go as long as I was with her all the time. She then rode my back and we flew to the forest. She got down and started walking, and I was right beside her. Far away I saw some shadows moving, and Lila suddenly heard leaves rustling. I could tell she was scared but she didn't want to go home. As we walked the sound got closer and closer, so then that was when we saw them. They were this band of giants. There were about 5 of them. And they sure didn't look as nice as Hagrid. Lila shrieked as soon as she saw them, and they quickly spotted us. They ran towards us but luckily since we were both much more smaller than them we ran and I was lucky to bite their ankles. So then Lila climbed my back and we headed home. Lila promising how she wasn't going to tell her parents this for they wouldn't let her go to the forest again. It sure was challenging for me, not only because we had to escape giants who aren't nice creatures but also because I had the responsibility to take care of Lila. And also the trust that her parents have given me to take good care of her. It wasn't very dangerous of difficult, but it was scary because for a moment the I thought we were going to be squashed by giants or something like that. But I felt happy when I got home and Lila's parents saw she was safe. Even if they never found out about the giants they still felt proud of me for taking care of her. BonusSource: Well most from my imagination hahaxD...but then I got some facts of the hippogriff from the book. and the picture I got from http://www.caterane.de/CoCo/Charaktere/Indriynar/Seidenfuss.jpgHope You Like My Homework | |

| Fairy.
1.What do you look like? (2) I am small in height reaching only up to 4inch I have two small semi-transparent wings coming from my back. Many of my kind have described me as most beautiful. I have small little feet and hands in fact I am rather small even for a fairy. My body is adorned by small fairy made clothes.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2) I would possibly say that my strengths are that I am a very fast flyer. I am most independent and prefer to work alone although this could also be a weakness so I shall say another of my strengths I have been told that I have a most enchanting singing voice. Now for my weaknesses I have been known to be some what vain. I also watch what I eat unlike many of my kind I prefer to be one of the most skinny and so I do not eat as much food some say that. That is bad but I find that I have no lack of energy or anything else. 3. What is your natural habitat? (2) Though not many people know of it there is a special garden for fairies created by us. We all actually have jobs and possibly live an almost human life style. Though I have been know to wander to many different gardens my home is the garden of fairies which I might add is most beautiful. 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2) Though this is not a thing I cannot do but something I wish to talk more commonly to humans and possibly many other creatures I know I like to be alone but I also love to learn and I would love to be able to speak to many different animals. 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2) Fodder I don’t know what that means so I’m guessing that it is what do you prefer to eat. Well one thing that I adore is berries raspberries are my favourite to be precise. I like many other foods but berries are my favourite.
One day I was at the fairies kingdom collecting more berries when I found that many of them had either rotten away or had been munched away by many a greedy fairy. So I found myself in quite a dilemma see that night I was supposed to be the going of summer ball and we needed to get as many berries as we could find so that other fairies could snack on them. So I found myself thinking what if I could just travel to another garden and collect some more berries the fairy queen would be most pleased. So going with my instinct I flew across many a land until I saw a garden with a beautiful arch way and many flowers. There was also a tree growing large green and red balls from it. I then too went with my instinct and took a bite from a large green one. What I tasted was most wonderful but before I could take a second bite a net had swooped down upon me a small child now pulling me from the netting and placing me in a jar. It was a human, an ugly little human with no fount teeth at that. Before I knew what was happening a lid was fastened on top of the jar and the human began to walk away with me firmly shut in. I began to cry softly nobody knew I was coming nobody could come save me. I was just about given up on all hope when I saw thorns face peering onto the glass window. My sprits lifted and I began to jump up and down and bang against the glass then the most peculiar thing happened thorn flew away. Hot tears began to fall thickly down my face my only chance of being rescued was ruined. It was getting dark now they would be starting the ball and they had no berries. Stupid god damn berries I screamed slumping back onto the fall. Well at least that human thing had not come to get me. This was the worst I had ever felt. It seemed like hours I sat there crying now bursting to go to the toilet. When suddenly the window was priced open and in flew what looked like the whole of the fairy kingdom. It was no time before they got me out of that cursed jar and we began to fly back, though not after I had used a hole. Before I went I also got one of the men to carry the green tasty ball back to our kingdom. And I flew back hand in hand with Thorn you see from that day on we have been dating.

| Part One- The Phoenix
1. What do you look like? (2) I am a large bird about the size of a swan. Although my feathers are mostly scarlet with a faint tinge of orange and yellow, my tail is golden and so is my beak and talons.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2) I have many strengths. I am able to carry heavy objects while flying, disappear and reappear in places in a burst of flame, my phoenix song is magical and it weakens those who are evil, while to the pure of heart, it gives courage. One of my strengths is also one of my weaknesses. Whenever I see a creature or person pure of heart who is injured, I have a strange tendency to cry. In a way, this is a show of weakness, but my tears have healing powers that heal injuries.
3. What is your natural habitat? (2) I can be found on mountain peaks and myself and my kind, throughout Egypt, India, and China.
4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2) Although my kind have been known to converse with a human if the two bond until the human dies, I truly wish that I could speak as humans do, learn their tongue, understand why they do the things they do. Sometimes, humans are extremely confusing in their choices, and I'd really like to understand why they make their decisions.
5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2) Fodder? Oh, yes. Food. I truly love to eat herbs. Peppermint is a favorite for it has a delightfully tangy taste, but I also love rosemary and lemon mint. Once, when I was bonded to a human long long ago, she would make me a tea made of a mix of the three... a truly delightful drink. Rowena Ravenclaw was her name, and we were great friends, although she had that pesky annoying little raven of hers.

Part Two
When I was very young, only a few decades old, I felt a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. I remember the day as if it were yesterday... I had flown down from my mountain peak in the Himalayas to a lush green valley full of herbs, my favorite feeding ground. The day was sunny and no other animals were nearby, so I deemed it time to pick my herbs. With my eyes and beak, I would test out the different plants to see if they were healthy or not. Whenever I found a superior bath of peppermint, lemon mint, rosemary, or sage, I would use a talong to pluck it from the ground. The beautiful day wore on and before long, I had an enviable cache of herbs. Summoning my fiery strength, I jumped and spread my scarlet wings, letting the warm wind of the day carry me toward my mountain peak. For some reason, it took more effort to fly then it normally did. When I was relatively high up in the air, I thought about my home and appeared there in a ball of flame. Home at last. I dropped my herbs in my storage spot and preened my feathers.
It was then that it happened. To say I was not prepared for it would be an understatement. One moment I was closing my eyes, ready for a nap; the next, I felt a great fire envelope me and everything suddenly grew! Or rather, I shrunk. Looking down at myself, I gawked and let out a sound of surprise. Gone were my beautiful feathers, gone was my majesty. Now, I looked as I did the day I was born. In short, I looked like a small, pink, wrinkled, chicken! Indignantly, I circled and tried to catch a glimpse of my once gorgeous tail. That was gone as well! I huffed and sat, attempting to fold my miniature wings beneath me. Shaking my head at my bad fortune, I pulled a sprig of peppermint towards me and began eating it. Almost immediately, I felt a bit better. It was during this hard, stressful time that I discovered my love for peppermint. Only later, after I had regained my previous beauty, did I discover what I had experienced that horrible day. I had lived through my first Burning Day. Little did I know that there would be many to come after. I am Skylora.

What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2) My strenghts are when my victims are sleeping. My weakness is the patrounus charm.
3. What is your natural habitat? (2) I wonder Europe and Asia in search of victims 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2) Get past a patrounus charm 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2) Humans Total marks for part one: 10
Part Two
Describe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 200 words, maximum of 500. My first attack that was been recorded in 1782. This event happened in London. It was just me and my victim. I slithered into the room by sliding under the door. My victim appered to be sleeping so I slithered onto his bed I began to wrap myself around his body he is still motionless. As I get closer to his waist he begins to struggle trying to free himself from my bonds. I am stronger then he is. He reaches for his wand which is on his bedside table. Suprisingly he grasps it. By now I am up to his neck I can tell my victim is getting dissy he trys to stop me with a stunning spell. It cannot stop me, although it did blast a large hole in his bedroom door. Then he tried anImpediment Hex it does nothing to stop me. He rolls off the bed now thrashing about as a fish freash out of the water would. I have almost covered his entire body but then he summons a patronus charm. I am thrown backward by the horns of his patrounus. That is it my attack is over and I slither away hungry and shameful of losing a battle. If I had won this battle there would have been no trace of me or my victim left.

| UnicornsPart One1. What do you look like? I am one of the most beautiful thing you have ever seen. I used to be of a gorgeous gold color, but then it turned to sparkly silver and it has now changed to a shiny pure shade of white. People could confuse me with a horse, as I look very much like one, but the horn on my forehead might keep them from thinking so. 2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? I am a very fast creature, also very powerful and it is easy to catch me. A man is one of my weaknesses - I much prefer to be touched by women. I am also rather defenseless sometimes, which can come to be a burden as my blood is prized by those who are desperate, reaching the end of their lifes. 3. What is your natural habitat? I live in the forest with those of my kind, and it is where I was born. 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? I wish I could fly. Unicorns are sometimes described as flying horses but sadly, it is not the case. Wouldn't fluffy white wings look spiffy on my back? 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? I will feed on most green plants I find, but I do also fancy simple things as apples and carrots, very much like horses. Also, I do fancy some sugar from time to time. Total marks for part one: 10 Part Two
Describe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500.As most people know, my blood has a very particular capacity - when on the brink of death, humans can drink it to be brought back to life, though it is merely a half life as they have to drink the blood of a harmless and innocent creature (that's me), so taking their life to save theirs. Many of my kind has never had to face such a situation, peacefully living in hiddens part of the forest where I grew up. However, having always been the curious one (someone has to be), I often wandered away from my family and friends to explore a little bit. The mysteries of the world always fascinated me and I wanted to see more. And I have to say, I did see more than what I ever wanted to see. One night, back to when I had just become an adult, as I was walking along the trees, far from where I ought to be, I came across a man who seemed dead. He surely looked like it, lying there on the ground, covered with his own blood. However, as I went closer to him, I realized he was not as dead as I had imagined. When he saw me, it became obvious that he had heard about the magic my blood could do on his state, and he did not want to die, willing to kill me if it could save him, even though he would be cursed forever. He seemed desperate enough as he was suddenly back on his feet, a long knife in his hand, ready to slain me on the spot, which he almost did. I felt the blade running through my leg before I had the time to leave, running away as fast as I could in spite of my injury, not really seeing where I was going until I realized I was lost. Not knowing where I was and bleeding strongly, the pain quickly spreading through my injured body, I thought that was it, I was going to die here and there. Then, a tall man appeared, his bushy beard covering most of his face though I could see kindness in his eyes. No matter how suspicious I was of menkind, this particular person inspired only confidence in me, though it was maybe because of my poor condition. He did not seemed interested in my blood at all, if not to stop the bleeding and so keep me from dying. He easily brought me back to his house, a small little hut, where he nursed me back to health for a few days before I was able to go back to my family. To this day, I still sometimes visit him with some friends. It helps him when he has some students over. As I was leading a search for some food, I came apon a group of young travelors, no older than 16. Two of them jumped away in fright, the other three looking at them with puzzled expressions. "Don't you see it?" one of them asked, pointing directly at me. "See what? You're barking mad!" replied another in a snarky tone. One of them, standing near the back of the group stepped forward and said "I know what it is. It is a thestral. You can only see it if you've seen death. They are frightening to look at, yes, but they are dead useful in travel. Have an extraordinary sence of direction." I walked forward to this girl, cautiously. She seemed unfrightened. She stepped forward and gently stroked my head. "We can use them to get to your mums, Charlie" She said, referring to a dumstruck boy to the right. I lowered my body and let two of them climb on, while three the other three climed on another of my kind. "Ottery St. Catchpole" she muttered into my ear. I immediately got the image of my destination in my mind and took off. As we soared over a lake, an icy chill caught the air, freezing everything in sight. Everything went pitch black around us. A group of dementors had caught on to our trail. We dipped and swerved trying to avoid them, but they were closing in on us. The cold misery was unbearable. All of a sudden, a silver hare filled the air and the dementors were driven away. I noticed where we were and dropped to the ground. We had reached our destination, souls still in tact. On a beautiful summer morning I was bathing in the river, and teaching a few of the babies of my herd to swim, there was some noise a little upstream but we paid no mind to this, the river and our home were so well hidden no humans had ever stumbled across it before, but this morning was different, we saw the two soldiers before they saw us they looked as though they had been in a battle their clothes were torn and they were bleeding. I hid the babies behind some bushes and asked them to keep as quiet and still as possible I didn’t know what these men would do if they found them. The two soldiers stopped at the river to drink and sit in the shade of the trees, they looked very weak and were bleeding a lot. My kind is mistrustful of humans so I hung back wondering what I should do I knew if I helped them there was every possibility they would kill me humans fear what they do not understand and there was also the possibility that I would be cast out of my herd for helping the humans. But if I did not help them they were not going to make it out of the forest, so I plucked up the courage and walked out of the bushes with me I brought food for the soldiers, the men seemed grateful of the help, I mended their wounds and told them how to get out of the forest the men did not harm me they were grateful for the help. But while I was helping the men find their way out the forest the leader of my herd blaze found me helping humans and worse helping muggles, I was taken back to the herd blaze was furious he told me that for my betrayal of my kind I would be cast out to live out my days shamed and alone my father Orion tried to help he told blaze I had always been different trusted to easily but blaze would have none of it and I was cast out never to see my father or the rest of the herd again for a centaur living alone is a big struggle im used to fifteen other centaurs. 1. What do you look like? (2)I may be one of the smallest species of Dragons with my fifteen foot long but I’m still the swiftest in flight. My scales are smooth and copper-colored; I have short horns but venomous fangs.2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2)My strengths are my smaller body which allows me a swift flight; however it’s also a weakness as I do not have as much physical impact as other Dragon types. My horns and venomous fangs are a big plus in defending myself and attacking but my vicious nature can get me into a lot of troubles.3. What is your natural habitat? (2)I’m native to Peru, in the eastern mountains and rainforest where is difficult to Muggles to get to.4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2)I wish I could eat a fine fork and knife meal and take a hot bath but I guess that’s not possible as I’m hot enough as it is.5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2)Everytime I can I try to grab a tasty humans though I usually eat goats and cows.Part TwoDescribe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500.At one point in History the International Confederation of Wizards had to order a mandatory cull of the Peruvian’s Vipertooth to lower the exploding numbers of those human blood-lusting Dragons.----------------------------The sun raised on the horizon spreading its rays of light in my copper-colored scales making me look like a giant flame. I woke up really thirsty so I left the cave where I had been sleeping and flew to a nearest lake.In the middle of my second gulp a ‘crack’ followed by several other ‘cracks’ broke the silence of the surroundings. Quickly I turned to see what had caused the noise. Immediately I spotted twelve human figures “Hum, meat!” I thought greedily.Hoping to scare some of them for fun I let out a wild scream. Two of them trembled but didn’t leave the place. When they raised their wands I began to realize those were no ordinary wizards and I might find myself in trouble.I started moving my tail threateningly making a loud noise hitting it on the ground. One of the wizards moved his wand a flash of red light were heading towards me. With a wing move I blasted the spell and as my temper suddenly reached a boiling point I hit the wizard with my tail catching him off guard. As he fell on the ground two other wizards stepped in front of him.I knew from that moment that I was being life threatened. Breathing in deeply then I let out a stream jet of flames. Two of the wizards weren’t quick enough to protect themselves and succumbed to the flames through a bunch of screams which were making me even angrier.I was getting ready to let out another jet of flames but one of the wizards conjured a huge water ball from the lake and threw it on my wide open mouth making me choke. They were now casting spells of green light to me which were destroying my scales and red light spells were opening cuts on my flesh. I was now screaming madly and tried to fly way but one of the wizards conjured an invisible wall above me. With a savage wrath I tore the wizard in two with my teeth making the wall disappearing and was able to flew away from thereIt took me 100 years to fully recover from all the wounds and ever since I’ve been straying low but now it’s to kill again… Bonus Find a picture of the creature in question

| Part OneAntipodean Opaleye 1. What do you look like? (2)I am a median sized dragon and weigh between two and three tons. My species is considered the most beautiful dragon by wizards and I’m very proud of that fact. I have pearl colored scales with multicolored eyes. 2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2)My species’ strength is my flame which is vivid red. My weakness is my species’ eggs which looks and are wrongly mistaken for fossils by muggles 3. What is your natural habitat? (2)I usually live in New Zealand but I sometimes migrate to Australia when the territory is scarce. 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2)I wish I could swim. Sometimes I eye the big fishes (when I really hungry) from the air but I cannot go underwater. So if my wish doesn’t come true, I’ll have to stick with my regular diet 5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2)Sheep are tasty and plentiful where I live Total marks for part one: 10 Part TwoDescribe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500.One day when I returned from my hunt, I found another dragon, slightly bigger than me, sleeping in my cave in my territory. I woke him up, quite rudely if I say so myself, and demanded him to move. He just sneered at me and said I should have marked and protected my territory and not loose it like a feeble human. Enraged, I shot a flame at him and challenged him into a fight. He looked at me as if I was joking and told me to ‘be a nice dragon and be respectful to your elders’ and went black to sleep. With those words, I got more enraged and tugged at his tail and threw him out my cave. To say he was surprise can be an understatement. He practically gaped at me with its mouth hanging and saliva dripping on the ground as if no one had defied him before. Taking the pause as a tool, I shot another flame at him and forced him to take the air. Swinging my tail I landed it right between his eyes, for that is a dragon’s weak spot. That blow seem to snap him out of daze and he shot his own flame at me. But since I already showed that I own this valley, and I already forced him out my cave, he knew he had to leave for that is what every dragon know by instinct. Suddenly I smelled some humans behind me, turning around, I saw many wizards trying to do their magic on the non-wizards. It seemed like my flame had attracted some attention. Giving one last look at the humans, I spread my wings to go hunting again. After all, fighting a vain dragon does take a lot of strength and energy for a young dragon like me. | Through the Eyes of a Magical Creature
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be an animal? In this class, I'd like you to put yourself into the shoes of a magical creature, and answer the sections accordingly. Use the first person in your descriptions, as though you are talking as the creature in question. Choose any creature.
Part One
1. What do you look like? (2) I have the head of a young woman with pale skin, freckles, and almond-shaped brown eyes. However, the rest of my body is that of a lion with fur the color slightly darker than that of a peach, and an auburn mane.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? (2) One of my strengths is my intelligence; I enjoy coming up with riddles for people to solve. They are usually incredibly difficult, much to the annoyance to those who have to solve them. I am also physically strong, and my claws and sharp teeth are definitely something to be reckoned with. But not to worry, I typically do not attack unless whatever I am guarding is threatened. However, sometimes I kill if my riddles are not answered correctly.
As for weaknesses, I do not have that many. However, sometimes I may be prone to suicidal fits if my riddles are solved to easily. It wounds my pride, you see.
3. What is your natural habitat? (2) My natural habitat is the glorious deserts of Egypt. Some may scoff, of course, but I enjoy the warm sands that are just oh-so-perfect for cat naps (excuse the slight pun).
4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (2) It would be nice to fly. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good run as much as the next part girl part lion, but flight would be much quicker, and I’ve always wanted to see my homeland and all of its wonderful pyramids from above.
5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? (2) I’m not a picky eater, not at all. Pretty much anything from insects all the way up the food chain satisfies me. Of course, I have eaten humans in the past, but I prefer not to-they’re just a tad too crunchy, and the clothes they wear don’t sit well with me.

Part Two
Describe a challenging situation that you, as the creature, have had to overcome. What happened? When? Where? Who else was there? Why was it challenging? What difficulties did you face, and how did you overcome them? Be as descriptive as possible: treat this as a piece of creative writing. Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500.
A few years back I was assigned a post at Gringotts, the Wizarding Bank located in Britain, specifically Diagon Alley. They put me as a guard of a valuable vault, number 348, I believe it was. They never told me what was in the vault; I guess they assumed it would be better if I didn’t know, because otherwise I might try to steal it. I rarely care for the trifling trinkets of humans-wizard or otherwise-because I’ve seen it all before, and what use have I for most of them?
Anyways, I had been guarding the vault for about four months, when a man comes walking up to me, and demanding to be let in. I smiled complacently at him and gave him today’s riddle, an unusually long one, and slightly easier than usual, but one that I was proud of nonetheless:
I sharpen ears, and weaken eyes- Who am I?
Thieves love me, Though I steal nothing- Who am I?
I linger long in winter, In summer I’m too soon gone- Who am I?
The silver queen rules me, I light her candles- Who am I?
Cereus is my flower, The owl is my bird- Who am I?
Well, the man hmphed and mumbled to himself, before he said, “That was more than one riddle, hardly fair at all.” I shook my head, still smiling, and replied,
“Sir, either answer the riddle-for the answer to all of its questions are the same- or leave. I warn you though, if you answer incorrectly, the price shall be dire. He fretted and pouted and paced, but finally he asked, “Is the answer…flecha!”
Though this rarely happens, I was confused, flecha was not the right answer, so, I crouched, preparing to pin the man down to the ground and call the goblins, who would tell me if I was to kill him or spare him, but I was shocked when arrows began flying at me from all sides, I ducked and rolled out of the way, unfortunately sustaining a graze on my right front leg. The man raised his wand once more, but I was ready, in seconds I was flying at him, my teeth snapping. For a slightly portly fellow, he was quick on his feet, and I only managed to snag his cloak. Spitting it out of my mouth, I prepared again, and he attacked once more, “Petrificus Totalus!”
I dodged the spell, which hit the bust of Gringott’s first goblin, and broke off a large chunk. They weren’t going to be happy about that at all. Before he could use another spell, I roared loudly, so that the goblins would know something was amiss. He seemed slightly shocked and unnerved by it-most humans are-and I used the opportunity as a chance to knock the wand out of his hand, and it went spiraling out of reach, precariously close to the edge of the precipice. He clutched his left arm, grimacing in pain-apparently I had left a long, deep scratch mark from shoulder to wrist in my attempt to knock the wand out of his hand. Serves him right.
Finally, two goblins showed up just as I managed to pin him to the ground for trying to reach his wand. I looked at them, and asked, “Does he live or does he die? He could not answer my riddle, so he attacked me. His wand is over there.” One of the goblins, Magnork, rushed over and grabbed the wand, while the other, Lipwurt, pondered an answer to my question. “Let him live, it is rare indeed for a man to attack a sphinx, and it would help us know why he wanted the contents of your vault so badly.” Slowly, I got off of him, and returned to my original place. The goblins bound him, and carried him back up to the outside world.
I stayed at that job for about two more weeks, because few people came down after that.It grew quite boring, no one was around to enjoy my riddles.

| Through The Eyes of a Magical Creature: 1. What do you look like? I have thin, slippery black skin, leathery bat-like wings, the body of a horse, and a dragon-like head and tail. My skin is so thin that my bones show through it, and oh, yeah - only people who have seen death can see me. I'm not very proud of it - my appearence (or lack of it, depending on whether they can see me or not) tends to frighten people and, I don't know, make them think I'm a dark omen or something. But I'm not! 2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Well, as for my strengths, I am a very good, fast flier, and an excellent navigator - just tell me the name of the place you want to go and I can fly you there in a blink! I believe that I am rather intelligent (much more so than most wizards, save for one young witch named Luna Lovegood, give me credit for!), and I havegreat hearing. My weaknesses are mainly what wizards believe about me - I'm not bad luck, but they believe I am because the whole death thing. I hate that! I also have poor eyesight - Oh no, I'm out of room! BRB! (Through The Eyes of a Magical Creature:) 3. What is your natural habitat? I've lived in the Forbidden Forest all my life, and I like it, so I guess you could call it my natural habitat. 4. What do you wish you could do, that you currently cannot? (5) I wish that I could control who I am visible to, instead of the death thing. It would be so cool to have power over that, and I might not have such a horrible reputation! House: Gryffindor Crest: Warning:

5. What is your preferred feeding fodder? I don't know what fodder is, but I like eating birds. Big birds, small birds - all birds really. Except for the messenger owls - Hagrid trained us not to eat those. ( Hagrid is one of those few humans who are kind to us and don't judge us because of the way we look - or don't look. (Through The Eyes of a Magical Creature Part 2:) One of the hardest experiences I have ever had was the day that I broke my leg when I was just a foal. I was very young, and eager to learn how to fly. My brothers and sister were still practicing flapping their wings and hopping about on the ground, but I was a quick learner, and I was soon aloft, gliding on a warm thermal and soaring up above the treetops, up and away from the quiet forest glade where we lived, flying farther and farther and farther...... until at last I grew tired and wanted to land - but I didn't know how! I kept flying and flying until I couldn't flap my wings one more time. I finally fell, tumbling down, down, down until I landed on the ground with a jolt, hearing a sickening snap in my left foreleg, feeling a sharp pain, then only numbness. I cried out in pain and fear. I suddenly realized that I was lost as well as hurt - (Through The Eyes of a Magical Creature Part 2 continued:) - a new and frightening feeling for me. I tried to get up, but sank to the ground with another pained cry, failing. It was a windy fall day, and I was beginning to feel rather cold. I was lost, cold, and hurt, and it was unlikley that I would be rescued anytime soon - even if someone did come near where I was, they might not be able to see me, and even if they did see me, they might think that I was bad luck and not even try to help me! The odds were not in my favor. Thinking upon this, and beginning to shiver with cold and pain (my numb leg had begun to hurt a LOT), I couldn't help but cry, sobbing like the pitiful, lost foal that I was (I was still very young, remember). Suddenly, after what felt like hours of lying there helplessly, I heard a human voice say "Yes, we're sure to find the Fargglopstong around here somewhere......." (Through The Eyes of a Magical Creature Part 2 continued:) I lifted my head with a great effort and saw two young wizards, a boy and a girl, walking towards me. I felt too weak to cry out, and as it was probable that two such young wizards would not have seen and understood death, I laid my head down again and resumed crying quietly. Not quietly enough, however as the girl broke off what she was saying and said "Do you hear that? It sounds like someone crying!" The boy mumbled something too low for me to hear. "Don't be silly!" said the girl. "It's sounds like it's coming from over here!" She walked towards me. "Oh, look at this poor little guy! I think it's hurt!" " Luna, are you alright? What do you mean? There is nothing there!" said the boy. "You mean you can't see it?" said the girl. " But it's right there, -
