Chapter 33

Use this thread to discuss the events in Capter 33 of Deathly Hallows.

okay, this was by far the best chapter of the book in my opinion. just...the whole snape and lily relationship was beyond perfect in my opinion....

Second best in my opinon the best chapter was the whole Harry vs Voldie bit lol! But I loved it o it was magical I just want to read that chapter again. I can't wait to read some good snape/lily fics lol! I adore that chapter.

I liked this chapter, but not really what it contained. It did explain to us a lot, but I didn't like the Snape and Lily friendship, not one bit.

If it had been totally one-sided, and his friendship not returned by Lily, I could have coped with it, but the way it was I didn't really like.

The later scenes with Dumbledore were much better and finally explained everything. There was a great line:

"Would you like me to do it now?" asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony. "Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?"

I know that, I just don't like the idea. I love MWPP and Lily era fanfics, and though there's very little about the characters at that age in the book I feel I've got to know them well. I just can't see my idea of Lily being friends with Snape.

My problem is that I don't really like Snape as a character and so don't want to associate him with one of my favourite characters.

I didn't believe Snape was good until I read this chapter, but after reading it I decided I really liked the Snape/Lily relationship, because it is the 'best friends from childhood' kind. I love the memory where Snape speaks to Lily for the first time and tells her she's a witch and she thinks she has been insulted, and Snape is upset that she doesn't understand...

I liked this chapetr before I read this chapter I thought Snape was evil. I lik that Snape is good and all and that he loved Lily, so sad.

You were right, *says it through clenched teeth* Snape. was. good. there now that that's over and done with I can discuss this chapter.

I really didn't think that the whole Lily/Snape thing was nessicary but it made for a great read. I think at one point, before Snape called Lily "Mudblood" Lily might have loved Snape. But that vanished when he started going over to the dark side.

The fact that DD never told Harry he would have to die, I think somewhere deep down Harry felt that he would have to. But in the way that DD made Snape be the one to tell Harry I thought that was very painful for Snape to approch Harry, the last living reminder of Lily, and tell him he would have to die.

All in all I loved this chapter to bad Snape had to die, I wish it had been Umbridge instead.

When we found out Harry was a horcrux my mouth dropped open. I was soo shcoked.. I couldn't believe it. I really didn't think he was one.. idk y but I didn't ge tmad at Dumbledore even though most people did. I was really said and I cried when I found out he had to die but i wasn't angry.. I also didn't like the Lily-Snape friendship.. I agree becasue I wanted Lily not to return the feelings and she did, that made me mad becasue I wanted James to be the one she loved... idk it upset me...

lol. tue. And I was wanted to mention that SNAPE IS NOT GOOD. Okay, granted he's not evil either but he did some really terrible thins and I think that he's nuetral. I still don't like him though.

I think my favrote ting about this chapter was learning about Petunia and how jealous she was. It really put the peices of the puzzle together.
